I was told over the phone that I could secure a vehicle with my visa debit and they even took my visa debit down to hold the appointment then when I arrived on moving day they refused to let me book without a credit card insane it’s literally the day I’m moving and they refused me a truck they booked with my card in the first place the staff was rude and the whole facility was dirty they said they had poison lying around for the rats wtf ?? Melanie Sonigo who initiated my contract and Tristan Gamache who closed it were EXCEPTIONALLY professional and personable and went a step further to provide excellent customer service. At the time it was raining and they were experiencing a power outage and yet handled the entire situation very efficiently with limited resources. Including a shortage of a truck for another customer. Melanie politely requested if I can have the truck back by noon ( an hour earlier) to facilitate that customer. People should know how the mobile pick-up works. I wasn't able to pick-up the truck at the timeI wanted since the website didn't work. I had to wait until the opening. The person working at the facility arrived before 9 but when I asked him to help me he asked me to wait until the opening. After that we had to redo all the process I already did online (to save time and to be able to get my truck early in the morning). The person told me he doesn't know how the mobile pick-up works and didn't seem to care.David P.

Website. There are some very strange behaviours there, and some not-obvious buttons to press. The internet connection at the site. Apparently all the slowdowns and lack of connectivity are caused by the computers and credit card systems being connected through Rogers, and they failed several times while I was there. It's been 3 days and have not received the bill I found the rental process to be irritating specifically the hard sell for the damage insurance, I did not need. I ended up feeling that if there was the slightest scratch on the van, it would be charged to me. Then bringing the van back, with 2 litres less gas I was warned agin that I would be paying for topping the tank off. This nickel and dimeing caught me off guard, and was irritating. First time uhaul renter here. The guy who checked me in was nice but nobody mentioned a 25$ cleaning fee or else I would've cleaned the truck out before returning it to avoid such a fee. My truck seemed clean however my hands were filthy from the steering wheel which can only mean that the truck was not cleaned nor was it sanitized for COVID which is unacceptable. J'étais extrêmement déçue et frustrée d'apprendre surplace que je ne pouvais pas bénéficier du mois gratuit d'entreposage que j'avais discuter par téléphone. D'après la personne de l'acceuil il arrive souvent que le standard se trompe. Mais là c'est une erreur d'environ 300$ qui est très fâcheux. La personne du standard m'a juste indiqué que je devais d'abord avoir louer le camion avant la location de l'entrepot. Ma location d'entrepot était pour l'aveil donc j'ai fait changer la date de réservation d'entrepot sur ses conseils. Absolute disaster of an experience. Was falsely accused of damaging the truck and told I'd be charged $200 in damages. Argued for hours with staff until they FINALLY dug up old photos proving the damage had already been done prior to my rental. Staff on site refused to help reverse these charges and told me to call 1-800 line. Was told multiple times a manager would call me back to no avail. Was also charged for a â€œmissingâ€ furniture pad which I returned. I was told a 1 bedroom apartment would fit into a van - so I was talked out of getting the truck. To my dismay not only did it force me to do not 1 BUT 2 trips. It severely delayed my moving capabilities and I was forced to do a last load with a friends vehicle. Queen mattresses DO NOT FIT in a van when you are moving more items. I explicitly listed out all of my items when on the phone to book with you and am extremely displeased with my outcome. Easy to reserve and pick up the truck, great variety of additional equipments to make easier the moving process. Fees charged at the end are very confusing, I was charged 39,69 of items for sale, I did not buy anything. Receipt does not clarify and it shows some fees on multiple fields, making it more confusing. But the worst part comes on the fuel process, you take the truck below the full tank and you have to return on the same level, which makes it very annoying. Or you give up and complete the tank or try to find out how much fuel you need. I took the second option and I was charged extra 35,00 dollars. Totally unfair.Everton N.

We had problems logging to the online account upon arrival and had to go inside. The wheels of the appliance dolly weren't rolling properly. We had problems moving appliances with it. It was useless which is disappointing since we paid for it. Otherwise, no problem with the truck and service was excellent (which compensated for the logging problems). I would usually give UHaul an excellent rating, but for this move it was a disaster. I had pre-arranged the rental of a second locker for Oct 1 and was careful to ask whether it was OK if I came later to put the lock on because the moving truck would be arriving sometime between the 10th and the 18th of the month. When I got there, I discovered that the locker was rented to someone else. i was told that according to your policy, if someone does not come to put their lock on the locker quickly enough, the reservation is cancelled. I guess I understand why, because you have a lot of no-shows, but I was under the impression that I would start to be charged from the 1st of October automatically. This caused a great deal of inconvenience for us because we now will have to 1) pay more for a larger locker until a smaller locker is available, and 2) move my stuff again into the smaller locker. To avoid this for others in the future, I think your communications should make the rules about reserving more clear and up-front. It would have been nice to have a reminder email saying that my reservation would be canceled if I did not call or present myself in short order. I spent over $6500 at this location in the past year!!! Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was running late on the day I had to vacate my storage locker by the "deadline" of 12:00pm. I asked the location manager, EMILE MURCIANO, if I could have a grace period of 1-2 extra hours (so as to avoid paying $360 for another month, when I'd be just 1-2 hours late). He flat out refused to accommodate my request. When he was reminded about how good of a customer I was and how much money I had spent at this location in the past year, he claimed that it was out of his control and blamed it on "U-Haul central." I contacted U-Haul customer service and they also tried to convince EMILE MURCIANO to have some compassion and leeway, yet he repeatedly declined to accommodate me in any way whatsoever. U-Haul customer service told me that the decision isn't up to them, but is at the sole discretion of the location manager. So, not only was the customer service absurdly poor for not accommodating a very simple request made by a high-paying customer, the location manager, EMILE MURCIANO had the audacity to blatantly LIE TO CUSTOMERS. He could have easily permitted another 1-2 hours but tried to blamed "U-Haul central." This type of behaviour is egregious. Also worth noting: the larger locker I rented at $360/month had ONE tiny lightbulb hanging from the ceiling and made it impossible to see anything in my unit unless I brought a flashlight. That is unacceptable. Also, there are signs stating that this facility utilizes insect and pest control, yet somehow when I unpacked my contents, there were flying insects in my boxes (which could NOT have come from me). I have videos and photos to support all this. So, overall, I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone and I would strongly recommend that EMILE MURCIANO receive basic customer service training.John S. | Overall Experience
