Have more than one person working at 7am when multiple people are coming in for their reservations. I had a reservation for 7am but because there was only one employee to process 5 reservations, I only actually stepped foot in the U-haul by 7:45am. Being that we were on a tight schedule, this is unacceptable to me.Francesco C.
Ok so I have not rented a Trailer or a truck in years. I took a shot at renting a large open trailer just before Moving day in MontrÃ©al. I called at 7 pm and a super polite , helpful young lady took my info and told me of where and what time A SINGLE TRAILER that suited my purpose was available. I arrived at 6:15 am, store opened at 7 â€¦. They actually opened at 7am sharp! Two professional attendants at the cash, having pre- checked in using the online process , HAD me out the door at 7:07 am. There was a lineup of 20 plus people when I walked out the office as it was June 30! The pro helped me , actually did everything and I was out of the yard by 7:15 am. WOW DURING POST COVID I have come to expect all kinds of trouble, but not at this u -haul. Super efficient and polite. Upon my return later that same day as I backed the trailer into its slot in the yard I was surprised to see a check in person with his phone or tablet or whatever greet me by name as I was getting out of my truck. Talk about good old fashioned service!! He inspected the trailer , unhitched it, asked if I was satisfied and happy â€¦ he actually seemed to care and if he was 25 yrs old I would be surprised. Again I was clear and out of the parking lot with an emailed invoice to me within 20 min of driving into the lot. It was such a great pleasure and at 63 yrs old , having grown up where the customer was important, I was taken aback by the positive attitude, customer is important feeling I got from ; U-Haul de MontrÃ©al-Ouest - dÃ©mÃ©nagement et entreposage 8101 Boul Montreal-Toronto Rte Montreal, QC H4X1N1 So I hardly ever do reviews BUT this local in Mtl just blew me away with their efficiency and attitude. I wish all businesses dealing with the challenges of employe retention these days still managed to input to their employees the importance of the customer. From The young woman on the telephone who took my order and helped me make the reservation, to the people on the front line who actually hooked up the trailer , to the people in The back shop who prepared the clean trailer with correct air pressure in all 4 tires , to the young fellow who checked me out and finally to the Manager who put together team â€¦â€¦ THANK YOU FOR GOING THE EXTRA MILE TO DO A GOOD JOB. Don't imply reserved locations are final when you can change them. Extremely poor and not caring customer service and overcharging me on fuel when I returned the truck with more fuel. Shady practices all around, I was shocked to learn how bad this company is.Antony K.
Employees were very kind and helpful. We picked up our truck on a busy day so there was a bit of a line up and delay with getting the truck that morning, however, the staff did everything they could to work as quickly as possible. My problem is not with the location. They were friendly and helpful, but there's no way to rate my experience with the services without rating the location. My problem is with uhaul's general service. First the quote I got when reserving was nowhere near the actual price: $90 vs $150. Second my reservation got moved from one location to another which was quite far. I did not get notified prior to showing up to the location where I had made the reservation. This made me lose about 4 hours of my life just driving in the city, made moving way more stressful than needed, and inconvenienced friends helping me more than was planned. You need to improve your services both on the quotes and communication. I also do not understand how your system can allow making a reservation and then moving it far. I made a reservation for a specific spot, and if you can't meet that part of the deal I'd rather cancel and find another solution than spend my time driving around instead of actually moving. On top of that not communicating with me the move is terrible. I even called customer service the day prior to picking up the truck to confirm everything was good and the person on the phone didn't mention the location change. All in all experience was very poor, I will go out of my way to find an alternative to uhaul next time I move and recommend others do the same.PL G.

my reservation starts around 6:30 in the morning, but I was at your warehouse around 6:15. the application does not work well, I called your support, it did not find a solution for me, I had to solve my problem alone around 7:30 am I took the truck keys. and your counter started around 6:30, so you penalized me with an hour.Zied H.

You changed my location to this location, via text the night before moving, i was already driving over 2 hrs to get here.. No one called me. I would have made other arrangements. I tried calling customer service but the wait is 45 min to an hour wait, thats if you don't magically get disconnected. Lucky the person that was there was helpful and very knowledgeable about installing trailer lights as uhaul had previously installed a hitch on my vehicle and the trailer lights were not installed correctly. The guy at customer service at that location gets a 10/10 for customer service not the one that took our reservation but the one who fixed our lights as he had prior experience in installing hitches . He really help us out and knew what he was doing and wanted to actually help.Sarahjean R.

I asked for a 15 truck and no extra equipment. However it appears these trucks automatically come with a dolly. That would be fine if we were informed beforehand that removing the dolly from its initial location would cost us money. We didn't even know it was there til we got home. So we fill up the truck, then the dolly we never asked for was in our way so without reading anything (if there was info on it) my dad just takes it off to move it out of the way. No one would think hold on let's be careful they might charge us for removing this. When i first saw it i figured it was a mistake or they offer this with the 15 truck idk. But when i return the truck, they tell me it cost me 7 dollars..... so you're telling me, i paid 7 dollars for something i didn't ask for nor use that was in my way of fitting more stuff and i wasn't informed of this at 1st? Ya no that's shitty and sneaky. Paid 7 bucks for something that was more a nuisance than anything else. Just give it to those who ask instead of trying to sneak extra money like this from people who aren't aware.Larah H.

I suggest to keep your gas tanks full, that way it is easier to fill-up EXACTLY what gas we used-up instead of having to estimate is it 8, 9,10 liters ?? More?? Or less?? Kinda looks like a way to rip-off the customers in putting more than they actually used. But service wise? Nothing to say except it was exceptional, fast and courteous. Congrats! Philippe C.

I made a reservation for 9:30am at the Depanneur 7 jours location on Airlie street on May 24th and got an email the day before May 28th saying I will have my truck at a different location and at 3:30pm. If the truck is not available at this time and location, why am I able to reserve it and how come Im only notified the day before that it's not possible at that time and location. Service was good at Montreal Ouest but it was not what I reserved.Julie C.
The employees that served me were very fast, clear and well trained. The softwares and applications works very well and are easy to use. I never write reviews, but I was really impressed by the whole U-Haul online and mobile service but moreover by the competence of the staff. On my end , no improvements required.YvesEric L.

The Uhaul pick up location was unclear in the email and I went to the place I requested to pick up from and not the place where it was located. The email and online portal weren't clear enough with the change of location.Christopher G.

Things need to be checked out by responsible caring employees who should be paid a fair wage for good job. the left driver side head light was moved and pointing up into the air top of treeline and all the way to the right. This falls into the purview of driver and vehicle Safety Inspection. You cannot rely on what previous renter of the vehicle says you must check things out yourself. Also when I arrived to pick up the 10 ft rental where I did everything online. Upon arrival i was told none available. I was offered a smaller vehicle that did not at all match my requirements and asked then for the next vehicle up that is available at the same price since I had a confirmation for my 10 ft cube. He said he could not do that. I said to call the district manager. It took well over an hour to resolve but was finally given the 10 ft cube with maladjusted headlights. I must be compensated for my inconvenience. but nothing. Also on your website you state that the 10 ft cube comes with a padlock. It did not and I had to purchase my own. So where is the 50$ compensation for my inconvenience??? NO WHERE TO BE SEEN OR FOUND!!! Generally my experiences are very good at U-Haul it is not my first rodeo but this one did leave a bad taste in my mouth!!!Mehernosh L B.

Was surprised by how well the truck was compared to when I rented one for my last moving 12-13 years ago. I would suggest having more gas in the tank when we rent it because in Montreal, you never know when a bridge ended being blocked, but that can't be planned. At least, there is a gas station 2 minutes away from the location so plan ahead :-) Great service, would definitively recommend this place since you can take any highway direction within 2 minutes of driving. had to wait in line a long time TWICE. U-Haul automated system sent me to a much further location, but I didn't get the message. This location gave me a trailer anyway, even though my reservation being switched to a further location. I was very grateful. Maybe another customer didn't get a trailer there, but I booked a WEEK in advance and showed up at 9 AM, so I don't know why U-Haul tried to make me drive all the way across town.Gabrielle L.

I first made a reservation on Jean-Talon Ouest for an early pickup (mobile phone). Got there for 7h30 AMâ€¦ and no truc!!! Called UHaul and they confirmed my reservation for that location butâ€¦. There's no truc available there !!! Seinfeld flashbackâ€¦ Jean-Talon Ouest can take a reservation but can't HOLD the reservation! I had a reservation for a trailer, and the clerk at the counter said I was lucky to get the equipment because he was about to rent it to another person even though I prepaid! Another problem that I see is with your reservation system. Both pick-up and drop-off locations were changed! Le personnel a été courtois, poli et les lieux sont beaux, propres et sécuraires. Cependant je suis extrêmement insatisfait du système de réservations. J'ai réservé un entrepôt 7pi x 14pi il y a 5 semaines et j'ai obtenu confirmation. Le jour d'emménager, on me dit que tout ce qu'il reste est un 5pi x 5pi. Il n'y a même pas la moitié de mes choses qui peut fitter à l'intérieur et ça me met évidemment dans le trouble. Evaluation based upon procedure and not upon the service. Service was excellent. Rental Process is cumbersome and too long especially if one's movers are waiting for the registration to be completed since the movers are being paid by the hour. Your website indicated that our unit was sufficient for our 3.5 appartment. It was absolutely not sufficient and when I inquired about renting another space i was told there were none available. As it is we have had to split the apartment storage which is not the best solution! The staff knowing this problem did not suggest any other solutions, offer to call up other locations for us, or make any accommodations. In addition the sign in procedure is very strange, using one keypad to log in and then another to open the door to the rental spaces.
