I first made a reservation at another location and when they did not have my vehicle I was referred to this location. I waited 45 minutes to get to the counter. The location refuse to provide the $50 reservation guarantee and provided me a 4 hour reservation instead of the 24 hour i had originally requested. When i tried getting more time they then refused to rent to me all together stating that i was at risk for not bringing the vehicle back on time. I had to beg to get the truck so that I could move my family. In the end the rental cost $75 more than my original booking due to the km of the location i was sent to and my rental was 4 hours instead of 24. The experience with Uhaul was appalling, frustration, and insensitive. i will never trust their service again.

Horrible experience. It took 2 hours to pick up the truck. There was a huge line and the clerks were extremely slow. At some point an angry lady came in and yelled at people in the line (all of whom were already exaspersted) to respect social distancing rules, even though everyone was at least 2 meters apart. She told us to wait outside and was very rude and unhelpful. Mobile pick up did not work. Had to wait even more for the return (again hugh line) ,although the person eho processed the return seemed to make an effort to speed things up. Overall I got things done but the experience was extremely painful and overly long. It's as if Uhaul's customers' time wasn't valuable at all. What should have been a 90 minute job took us our whole Sunday afternoon. Very disappointed A rebate would be welcome

On the weekends, it would make sense to have more than two staff members available to serve your customers at a larger location. I waited in line for one hour (6 people ahead of me) to pick up my reservation, then had to try three trailers before one would work with our lights. This process should be more efficient, particularly on the final Sunday of a month. Customer service was okay, and you tell the staff are doing the best they can but it was absurd and they need more support.

Please do not assume that everyone who rents your truck from U-Haul knows what to do, such as where to find the rented truck, what to do with the equipment in the truck, how to return, etc.

First the locker rented was suppose to be 10X5, it was in reality 9.75 x 4.5, losing 10% of what I should have. Also, the process to rent and close your products is way too long and complicated, and the employes working there are not the best ones.

So I rented the equipment online. I was supposed to be able to pick up the truck with the app but it wasn't working I took my picture so many times but it was doing nothing so I had to go inside the clerk. It was a good thing they were still open for a couple of minutes. They couldnt find the keys first. Than I left with the truck and it wasn't working properly. I first told myself is was because it needed to warm up, but that wasn't the problem after all. So I went to my first location to pick up a few things and went back home. On my way back the truck was acting weird, I had to give a lot of gas to be abble to drive faster that 15 miles/h. It was staling and making a weird noise. I tried to drive faster but it wasn't able to drive more that 30 miles/h. So I park and call the roadside assistance. After a couple hour of calls with the assistance they found a solution. Around midnight they towed the truck back to a Uhaul location center were an other 24h truck was available. The guy from the towing truck help me move the stock from one truck to the other. I had to move them even if my back is hurt because I couldnt find anybody to help me at 1am. I finaly got back home at 2h30am. I had to leave at 6 am to pick up the rest of the stock to be at 8am to the pre-general of the show we are filming. When I got back to the Uhaul location center at 8h45 pm. The center was closed and the app wasn't letting me upload the pictures again. So I left the keys in the same box I pick them up during the night and took pictures of the truck. I called the roadside assistance and waited for more than 15 mins, I was exausted and just felt asleep. So I had to go back the next day to close my contract. I didnt received any compensation for all those disruptions.

Je n’ai reçu les instructions qu’en anglais J’aurais aimé recevoir le code de désarmement de l’alarme par sms également, pas juste par email Les instructions par rapport au code à composer n’étaient pas claires (confusion quant à quoi sert le code quand les portes de la bâtisse s’ouvrent sans code / les instructions à côté de la porte semblent s’appliquer aux client SecureMax seulement). Pour d’autres personnes aussi ce n’est pas clair, car l’alarme s’est déclenchée plusieurs fois sur place, ce qui est quand même pas mal désagréable!

Everything on the Montreal side was great. Call centre people were all great. And the local shipper - Diamond Quality - was superb. But you missed the guaranteed delivery date by a whole week. And you seemed to maintain that by using a third party shipper between Montreal and New, you did not have any accountability or requirement to explain to your customer where the box was, why it was being delayed, and what was a reasonable delivery expectation. First of all, just being able to get in contact with someone at UHaul was a struggle the week before I had my reservation. They had switched the location on me without telling me. I saw the switch online and had to call and confirm the reasoning. The representatives at the pick up location did was not friendly and wasn't able to answer a question about the drop off which I thought was odd. He also only gave us a truck with a tank of gas of less than 1/4 and I had ordered a truck for a long distance move which I thought was insane. The overall experience just seemed to have alot more hiccups than I was expecting.

The strap on the appliance dolly was frayed and torn at the place where it is is secured by the locking handle. I was forced to take it because the only other appliance dolly available at no strap on it at all. I had to move a heavy upright freezer and we did not have confidence in the equipment. I should not have to pay the $10 + tx fee for this rental. That being said, all the staff I dealt with were excellent, very polite, non-stressed, especially the guy who processed my return at about 5:30. He was very cheerful even though he was very busy processing numerous equipment returns.

But I paid too much because this location wasn't good for me, I initially made a reservation in the east of Montreal. Because of road block and traffic jam I put too much mileage. Besides there's no gas station around the Uhaul. Not a very good customer experience!

I reserved a truck for 4h30m AM somone called me saying the store would open at 7, so I should be there at 7 when I got there at 6h55m, they told me my truck was with someone else, because it is a very busy season then, they gave me a 2 hour window with another truck, even though I hired mine for 4 hours. I took my time and returned it later.

The first truck we needed wasn't there, the second truck that we were assigned was missing a key, and then we had to redo the whole process of renting a truck out which defeats the purpose of online rental. We lost an hour of our time for the move.

when I arrived the attendent said that he didn't even know that the truck was there already, that means that he didn't checked before my rental if it was clean (during Covid pandemic this is inacceptable) nor if the information insert by the last client was correct. I received a corrupted file document for the contract by email, so I asked the attendent to send me again. He sent me it only after I took the truck and left the place. The miles shown in the odometer were different from the contract (I took a photo before leaving the place) and he added a coverage for damages that I EXPLICIT said they didn't want. I tried to call the office many times and nobody answered. So finally I reached the central (my complaint is still under revision). When I returned the truck I said to the attendent that the odometer in the contract was wrong and that I didn't wanted the coverage and he answered that no, that it is impossible and not even gave me an answer about the coverage. I'm still waiting for uhaul to do something about it. I always rent trucks and even installed my hitch with you (see my story of rentals), always was true and trustful.

Have someone who can resolve issues. I booked 2 15' Trucks last weekend. Contract # 82064030 I paid cash $295.07 but my credit card was also charged for the original estimate of $239.29 I am trying to get someone to reverse the incorrect VISA charge but getting nowhere.

You guys made a mistake on my contract. You changed the drop off location without telling me. And by doing that, you reduced my miles allowed. I was supposed to have 528 km (330 miles) included, and somehow, you changed it to 281 miles. And when I dropped off the truck, I checked the box that said that I didnt want to pay for the extra miles, and you still charged me. When I picked up the truck, the clerk lost my reservation 3 times. They didn't have the equipment that I reserved a couple weeks before. Shameful...

We reserved a u-haul truck for Montreal over a week in advance of our move, and then were told two days before our move that we'd have to drive to Drummondville (3 hour round trip in the wrong direction) to pick it up. We cancelled, obviously, and reserved with Discount, which while out of our way was still on the Island of Montreal. U-Haul called us the day before our move to tell us our truck was ready in nearby Lachine. We cancelled Discount and picked up the truck. It was a one-way reservation, and we expected to have the truck over the weekend. However, we got a call as we were unloading that our drop-off point was expecting the truck for 5 PM. Overall, great service, price, equipment, but it would have been nice to avoid all that confusion.

You had one employee serving customers. Processing each customer takes 20 minutes +. I also reserved my truck and tow for much earlier and it wasn't even ready to go (had to be done by the same person. He went outdoors to do it and it took another 20 minutes). It took an hour from the time I got there. The most insulting part is that uhaul charges if we are 15 minutes late.

Customer service was appalling: slow as can be because staff at counter had no idea what they were doing. Both on pick up and return. At least the return guy was new and had an excuse. This being said, price was outstanding and location good when off rush hour. In rush hour it would be a nightmare.

Bonjour, Le jour de ma réservation je suis aller au comptoir 1) pour vérifier si mon camion était bien réservé car j'avais reçu un texto qui me disait une autre adresse. ?? 2) je voulais aussi ajouter et louer des accessoires, que je n'ai pas pu réservé en ligne. ?? 3) pour avoir le numéro du local d'entreposage réservé. Alors qu'il n'y avait qu'un seul client au comptoir, j'ai dû attendre 45 minutes avant que l'employé m'appelle à mon tour. La raison de cette attente, que j'ai deviné, était qu'il y avait un nouvel employé qui n'arrivait pas à utiliser l'ordinateur et ne cessait pas de demander de l'aide à son collègue. Cette personne faisait erreur sur erreur, et à continuer d'accaparer l'employé qui nous servait. Je comprends que les temps ne sont pas faciles, mais une formation, avant de lancer un nouvel employé au comptoir, aurait dû ou devrait être efficace. D'autres clients attendaient derrière nous aussi ! Le service que vous offrez et que nous payons ne devrait pas souffrir de problèmes tel que celui-ci. D'autre part, je n'ai pas pu reculer l'heure de départ sur le site internet, point pourtant demandé lors de ma réservation téléphonique. En espérant vous avoir rendu service par l'information de ces explications, merci.

Reservation over the internet was brutal with more questions than necessary, trying to sell services I was not interested in, Check out was intense with your computer down and manual credit check for a twenty dollar rental that took 20 minutes. Return was perfect! Gotta love uhaul!!!

The person who helped me get the storage unit account setup was quick and efficient and very friendly. I got a very good impression of U-Haul as a company because of this individual's good attitude. This is very refreshing compared to the last storage facility I used (not U-haul) where the staff seemed like they did not care at all and would prefer if people would just leave them alone. So I hope the guy that served me is appreciated and well paid!

We had our belongings in this storage for almost 2 years. All went well until our departure from the unit. When clearing our belongings, unfortunately we discovered some items that were eaten/ruined by mice. Our couch had holes in it from mice and was covered in droppings (it was covered by plastic but they chewed through that as well). The U-Haul staff reassured us right away that we would get reimbursed for this. However, to this day, we have received no response or follow-up on our claim for reimbursement. We will likely have to continue pressing the issue in order to get any resolution, which is very disappointing. We paid over $5K in our time of having our belongings in storage - the least they could do is make sure we receive appropriate compensation for ruining important furniture.

Only a small suggestion, I was going to drop of the truck at a different location which we decided together. It was Thanksgiving weekend and I informed if they were going to be open Monday morning, and was told yes. That wasn't true, but to get my refund back you either had to go back there the next opening day, since I paid by debit card not credit card. I arrived before 8am as the contract stated, but you needed a cell phone to log in,and open an account. To drop off the keys before taking pictures of the truck , location pics etc. Nothing was ever mentioned of this and finding out after all this process you can send me a cheque through the mail. So you should advise your staff that this is a major process if you arrive late or they are closed. I didn't need to bring my phone. And then again was told they were open. , driving back to get my phone another 20 km one way and back is not really profitable plus gas.

The cabin was not cleaned properly because there was a beer can that exploded on me. I smelled like beer for my whole trip. This is dangerous and a poor job cleaning was done.

i have an 8 am reservation and I had to wait 1 hour to get served. I had booked online and tried to check in online, but that option isn't available in Canada - there is now way to avoid waiting in line. Why would uhaul book over 10 appointments at 8 am and only have 1 employee? Dropping it back off took 30 mins. To add to this, the rear tires were worn out, there is something loose in the steering and a squeaking noise from a wheel while driving.

Great service when checking in. Facility is clean and bright. Easy access for loading. Only negative was there were signs of mice/rats- there were traps and droppings in unit. I hope this problem is kept under control.

I had a trailer hitch installed and rented a trailer. The installation procedure went a bit wrong (broken muffler), but UHaul handled everything extremely well. Trailer rental? No problem at all. Service was exceptional and the manager there... a person I'd go to any time!

Nous avons louer un cube 20 pi. Celui-ci avais un problème de pneu extérieur côté passager. Celui-ci avais un trou carrément dans le pneu. S'etais extrêmement dangereux surtout que le dit camion venais tout juste d'être inspecter par quelqu'un. Nous avons remarqué le tout en magasin lors du retour de l'équipement et j'étais très fâché car sa aurais pu me causé un grave accidents a moi et mes enfants.

Very very frustrating rental. I booked it online to rent a van from the Dollard des Ormeaux (ddo) location which is 2 km from me and it said available for the time. Then it sent the confirming email the next day for chomedy location which is very far. I called and they switched to Ddo location but then confirmed a pick up truck. I had to call back and then they switched to the Lachine location again very far away . I ended up picking up there today. During the move I placed the car key which does not have a remit on passenger seat to not lose it. 2 hrs later when I was finished loading i closed the rear doors and the vehicle locked the complete system automatically. I wasted 1 hr being bouncing around by multiple uhaul employees with no resolution aside from they said call a taxi to open it. So I did and it cost me 35 bucks and I lost over an hour time. Terrible experience from beginning to end . I was never given the 50 $ guarantee credit nor the additional credit for all this issue . I will most likely be going on Google to write a public review No one called me to tey and resolve it and when i returned the vehicle i was told nothing could be done.. no empowerment at all by anypne

We are so impressed. After a difficult check in experience at another U-Haul, we came here and they were helpful, courteous,and understanding of our complex situation. Not only that, but they honoured incorrect information we had been given by the call center. When we were about to have a wrench in our plans, now the gears are moving as smooth as ever.

At busy times, you should have more staff. The processing time per customer is too long, I had to return the following day as there were 10 people in front of me and one person working. I waited 1/2 hour and the CSA was still processing the same client.

Hi , overall was okay. I tried to change the per authorization date. When I called , the agent said to go ask the store. I drive to the store they say we cannot it’s impossible. With tax it was suppose to be 120$. Because of the faulty pre auth I paid 135$-150$ mostly. In 2020, I am so baffled that we are not able to change a date : /. But to me it was just a scam to charge more. And that’s why my rating is much lower. Hopefully this feedback will help you improve your services and maybe not benefit from people.

The representative who we dealt with was very rude, has no idea of what customer service really means. She souldnt be in contact with customers. I told her that I spoke with another person about the one month promotion and she said (in front of other clients waiting in line): "il est nouveau, il sait rien". Hello, My main concern with the lack of answers for phone calls from Lachine. They have NEVER picked up the phone, it always went back to central. PLUS, central does not give accurate information. And / or the information does not get relayed to Lachine. I had lost the keys to the storage lock, I called and called to speak to Lachine, once again, they didn't pick up. Central lady said that each location was equipped with the tools to break the lock - which turns out (as I had a team of 3 movers on the clock, just waiting) they did not, and mentioned it was against UHaul policy. I had to call for an emergency service, which cost me $275, for a locksmith to come and break the lock. I am extremely disappointed with UHaul in this regard.

The only reason i don't give a 5 stars is because the waiting time to get service is really, really aweful. I waited 45-50 mins in line just to get service even though i and a reservation. I understand doing contracts with people takes time but being understaff in a month like this, i mean it is moving festival now. All i wanted to do is get my moving done. The wait got me so angry inside that all the good deeds a friendly staff was not even important at that point.

I had rented a storage in Montreal Centre Ville at first, I had made the reservation on site. Then I made a change of date by callin U-Haul. When I went to rent the storage, they said the modification can't be made by phone (?????) and that there was no storage unit that I had reserved, when I had done it on site at first !!! The person didn't try to help me... I had to go to Lachine to find a storage unit. At Lachine, the woman that took my order was very bad at being polite and being professional. SHe didn't help me either and was very mean with my order placing... My experience with U-Haul is very bad. I hope not to use your storage units in the future.

I have had booked, for 1 April, a storage in an other facility (Cite 2000 Montreal) and no one called me to tell me to come and take possession of the storage unit. I left my credit card info, my phone number and my adress, as requested. With all these infos, I understood that someone From u-haul would call me as soon as they have an available unit. But it appears no one called. When I presented myself to the office, I faced a young man that did not care at all about my case and just repeated like a parrot : we do not have unit left sir, it works like this in u haul. Without even trying to understand my situation, not listening and not proposing any solution. He clearly did not care and is not suit for working in customer service. I have noted down his full name and send a report to the complaint section. I’ll let know everywhere how I was treated at the office.

The one big negative to our experience was the difficulty getting information on how to cancel our contract. I called customer service and was told I had to go to the warehouse. Drove 20 minutes to the warehouse and was told take a picture and come back when the locker is empty. Drove home another 20 minutes. Went back after the locker was empty (20 minute drive) to learn that the account had been closed by one of the employees. In all, 1 hour and 20 minutes of unnecessary driving. Clear, concise information about the process would have made this experience excellent.
