I was amazed to find out that the truck didn't have snow tires. I was told that being an American compagny you were not obliged to provide any for the province of Quebec. Although I applaud the great service I received including the call centre, for safety reasons I may not rent a vehicle during the winter.

J’ai vraiment pas aimé mon expérience avec Uhaul car leur équipement était pas bien entretenu car on est en Janvier et comme vous le savez tous au Québec il a des journées de tempête de neige. J’ai reçu de la compagnie un camion qui avait pas de pneus d hiver donc j’ai rester pris à plusieurs reprise j’ai été oubliger d’acheter des abrasifs pour déprendre le camion car je restait pris partout à cause des pneus qu’il était des pneus d été et en plus fini à corde donc imaginez . Pas assez de déménager j’ai eu de la difficulté avec le camion donc Non j’ai pas aimé mon expérience avec eux

Malgré les délais et les files d'attente, les employés de uhaul furent extrêmement efficaces. Arianne de Uhaul Gatineau ainsi que sa superviseure ont été géniales afin de combler certains imprévus. Je crois que ces merveilleuses employées devraient être supportées par plus de collègues comme elles afin de pouvoir gérer l'énorme charge de travail à laquelle elles font face à deux. Merci!

Succursale de Gatineau sur la rue st louis la gérante tania très arrogante et gros manque de professionnalisme avec moi et manque communication leur système informatique ne fonctionne pas adéquatement et toujours du retard dans la livraison du camion ainsi que manque essence etc......

Aucun sens c’est affiché en gros sur les camions 19,95$ pour la location, mais pour une journée 40km de déplacement 72$ en plus de 20$ d’essence!!! Donc 92$ pour une journée au total je crois vraiment que vous devriez réviser vos méthodes d’affichage !

Customer service could improve. The two times I have been there I had to wait quite a bit in line, and saw staff being quite short with customers (I think they were feeling overwhelmed).

Très déçu du service à la clientèle chez U hall Gatineau. Je suis arrivé avec une demi-heure de retard à cause de trafic et la voiture et la remarque n'était pas prêts. J'étais servi par Tania, général manager (selon elle) qui ne savait même pas pour ma réservation et qui a servi 4 autres clients au téléphone pendant qu'elle fessait mon dossier. À la fin (toujours au téléphone), quand tout été prêt, elle m'a montré la porte avec un geste de la main sans absolument rien dire, comme on fait pour les chiens. J'ai osé y demander pour la clef, toujours au téléphone, elle m'a ignoré et c'était son collègue qui m'a répondu « it's All there » faisant le même geste vers la porte. Pas de « merci », pas d'eau voir », rien de tout, même quand moi j'ai dit « merci et au voir » personne ne m'a répondu. Et ce n'est pas tout, la voiture n'a pas été déneigée, n'avaient pas des pneus d'hiver, même si c'est interdit par la loi. La voiture et la remarque était aussi sale et abimée à trois différents endroits sans aucune note dans le rapport. Le réservoir était vide, avec le voyant de manque d'essence allumée. Nous sommes en 2020, la honte ! Je déconseille fortement.

Waited 1 hour in line to be told they changed my reservation to 1 hour and a half later. First they tell me its my fault then the other girl told me she was the one who did it because she thought we didnt show up. The reservation was at 9 it was 910 .... because of the long line ! We had to wait 1 hour in a half for a truck to come cause she had given it yo someone else. I was moving and lost that time to move ... i am very not pleased with my experience and will never go there again.

We had wonderful customer service at this location. The only feedback would be that UHaul should put snow tires on their trucks. A small snowfall delayed our move by a day because the truck couldn’t even get out of the parking lot. Aside from this, the staff at this location were very accommodating and helpful. Thank you!

I own Enseigne Fasteam Sign's and they had the right truck for my job! The price was right ! It goes by the distance so for your next costumer maybe bring the price .10 .15c a km less would attract more of them ;)

Reservation cancelled and employee demanded to call all my contacts in my phone to validate who I was even though I provided both a valid photo ID, credit card and have previously rented here and other locations on many occasions. When asked about the policy, the lady snapped back demanding to know who didn't follow this new policy so that she could fire them. The truck was not inspected and she gave it to me complaining that it was in customer parking and she couldn't be bothered to deal with it. It was missing tags and wasn't cleaned out. Further more, I must have hit a low sign that damaged the corner of the top of the box and have just been informed that the insurance I purchased is not being honored (which wasn't even offered and thrown in to the pricing without my consent) and I have received a bill to pay out of pocket. I tried calling customer care twice tonight to sort this out and was hung up on both times. Please find a solution for this and call me at 873-660-1130. Thank you.

Faulty Design in Cube Van's Back Door. I rented a 15 foot van from the Gatineau U-Haul location late in the evening for a move early next morning. As soon as I arrived home with the van that evening, I opened the rear door of the van to ensure that everything was in order. However, the door swiftly sprang upwards out of my hands and got jammed in the ceiling on the cube van. The handle of the rear door was out of sight, and was actually wedged against ceiling in the opened position out of reach; there was no means for me to pull the jammed door back down with my bare hands. This was happening when the Gatineau U-Haul office was about to close; I tried to call Gatineau right away for assistance but there was no answer. After some time, the head office in the US answered; they told me they could not transfer my call to Gatineau. They had to send an email to Gatineau in order for the local U-Haul location to call me back. Given the late time, I was very worried that I would not have a van to move in the morning. In a panic, my son was able to borrow some tools from a neighbor; he was able to use a steel bar to pry the jammed door loose and eventually pull it back down. Thus, we would finally able to use the van in the morning for the move. I returned the truck to Gatineau U-HAUL the next afternoon and reported the problem with the rear door of the cube van. The manager laughed. He said that everything was OK with the door at the rear of the cube van, and that there was no absolutely problem with it. I found the manager's reply to be unfair, and his attitude to be offensive. There is a flaw in the design of some of U-HAUL's vans, and their rear doors needs to be properly adjusted to avoid the problem described above. If you are renting a van, make sure you carefully inspect and test it before you leave. Caveat Emptor!

Très bon service d’un employé du siège social qui m’a proposé une promotion de $125.00 plus taxes incluant 200km gratuit 3. Service médiocre (pauvre) de la gérante de la succursale U-Haul De Gatineau lors de la remise du Cub VAN le jeudi 5 décembre vers 16h16. Elle n’a rien voulu savoir de la promotion proposée par employé du siège social, résultat, j’ai dû payer 46,80 $ additionnel sans aucune raison.

My only complaint has to do with your policy of not allowing changes to contracts without a significant financial penalty. I rented a trailer for 14 days to go to Nova Scotia and return to Ottawa [because of the lower cost as opposed to leaving it in NS]. the weather was bad so I tried to leave the trailer in NS but the cost was going to be $850. vice the $300 to bring it back. I was astonished so I brought it back to Ottawa. After complaining to the manager in Ottawa, they settled my bill and offered a certificate for $75.oo to compensate me for the extra bother. I would have been happy to pay the $474.00 cost for the drop off in NS vice the $850 asked for. Uhaul needs to reconsider the treatment of customers asking for contract changes. I am happy with the Gatineau haul staff.

My only comment is that I booked a truck online for 2:30pm and received a confirmation email for that time. A day later I received a text message stating my truck would be available at 3:30. With the location closing at 7:00 I was left without enough time to move. Luckily I was able to do an return. Your booking system should be updated to ensure there's no time conflict.

I have rented trucks from U-Haul before this is by far my worst experience from my pick up and the drop off . Manager was rude on the phone for the pick up . And the. Drop off was shecdule at a location 45 mins away from my house . The probable was corrected once I called twice . I will probably never use U-Haul again . Unfortunately the price isn’t worth the stress this cause on my moving day .

Wait times can be long in the morning, however, this is to be expected with the amount of customers that use this location to rent trucks or storage. I have to say that this time, my experience was very positive and the customer service from the manager was top notch. I had previously disliked her attitude but I’d say it has improved 100% and would recommend to anyone this location for truck rentals and storage rentals

When I rented the truck in Gatineau I was given a dropoff address that does not exist. I had until 6:00 p.m. to drop off the truck at 3570 belair Street in Montreal. I was on site at 5:30 p.m., the shop had a sign for sale in the glass and was closed. I had to call customer service to find another dropoff address that was at 2000 Notre Dame Boulevard East (20 min from there). When I got there I dropped off the truck without suspecting that I would have an extra fee for dropping off the truck after hours without making the return with my phone.

My trailer reservation was made at another location which never has any trailer. Why would your website allow this, I don't know. When I got there to pick-up the trailer I was told my reservation was at another location across town. I tried to have it transfered to a location near me but they ended up cancelling it. I finally ended up with a bigger trailer than what I needed and had to pay more to get it. Not impressed at all with your reservation system. I might push me to your competitors next time I need to haul stuff.

Le camion n'était pas plein au moment du ramassage (1/4 plein seulement). On nous a informé que le client avant nous n'avait pas retourné le camion plein et que des frais supplémentaire lui avait été chargés en conséquence et que Uhaul n'avais pas remplis le camion mais que nous pouvions le remmener au même niveau. Nous avons due prendre de notre temps pour le remplir le camion avant de procéder a notre opération de transport. Ne sachant pas combien de carburant il consommerait pour le voyage nous avons remplis le réservoir au maximum afin d’être sur de ne pas en manquer en cours de route. Nous avons finalement utilisé moins de carburant que prévue et nous avons retourné le camion avec un réservoir a moitié plein, soit 1/4 de plus (environ 53 litres sur un réservoir de 215 L) ce qui équivaut donc a une soixantaine de dollars. Apres discussion avec l'assistant gérant lors du retour aucun rabais ou compensation n'est possible de la part de Uhaul pour ce 60$ d'essence que nous leur donnons. De plus ils nous ont dit qu'ils n'avaient pas le personnel requis pour remplir le camion le matin avant que le client en prennent possession. Le camion aurait du être plein au départ et le client ne devrait pas avoir a faire des calculs afin de déterminer combien d’essence sera requis pour son voyage (d’autant plus que la consommation du camion varie selon la charge transportée, les conditions de la chaussée et les côtes sur le trajet, donc il est dure de faire une estimation juste sur un camion que l'on ne connais pas) ou perdre sont temps a faire le plein a plusieurs reprises ou encore a prendre le risque de manquer d’essence lorsqu'il y a peu de poste d'essence sur le trajet (comme dans mon cas). Apres-tout, si un client a une pénalité parce qu'il remmène un camion qu'il aurait due remplir, ne devrait-il pas exister un compensation pour une situation inverse? Sommes toutes, assurez-vous que vos camions soit pleins lors du ramassage par le client, coûte que coûte, et offrez une compensation si le client retourne un véhicule avec plus d'un quart d'essence que nécessaire (surtout au prix courant de l'essence). Je contacterai le gérant cette semaine.

1) In the severe frosty winter weather, at Gatineau Hull UHaul, they gave me all season tires (already well used) that almost got me in road accidents during the trip. In Montreal I got stuck in snow, in a regular parking place (no elevations or anything like that) in the kind of area where everyone else drove with no issues at all. Called UHaul and was told that I was intitled to Road Side Srvice at all (even though I had paid for everything). This way UHaul forced me to pay 150CAD to an independent remorque company to get me out of that parking. So I paid 150CAD because UHaul does not put winter tires on its vans. And this is above the fact that they had put my life in danger by having had me drive on icy roads with inappropriate tires. 2) In Gatineau, Hull UHaul (I left from Montreal from there) I was given the address where I had to drop off the van (12040 Lawrentien Blvd) next day. The boss of that 12040 Lawrentien office literally kicked me out of his office telling me that he did not wanna accept the van and did not wanna help looking for alternative places, called me a clown. 3) In Gatineau I was told that I had to return the van by 10:00AM. Turned out that I had to return it at 09:00. Good thing that I had woken up early or else they would have charged me for this as well...I am guessing. 4) No water in widn-shield cleaners. Plus, the rubber of the wind-sheild cleaner of the driver's side was in bad condition and it did not clean the wind-sheld properly at all.

My order turned to be a huge mess and a headache. My order was not executed properly, my uboxes were not delivered to their destination, and I had to spend extra 300 dollars from my pocket to complete
