Logistics of trailer availability could be improved. Original reservation was in N Scottsdale. No availability within 3 days so rescheduled for Tucson. Was able to re-reserve in Tempe. Rescheduled to Apache Junction due to overbooking. En route I received a call and was rescheduled for south Tempe. Did get a trailer and the staff was very friendly. New-ish trailer worked great. I was told it had just under a half tank of fuel, not true, the bed of the truck was filthy. The cab was discussing. I brought back truck with a little more the a 1/4 of tank. More then what I was giving, and had it professionally cleaned. I would never use this location again after the charged my card for fuel. Also the manager on duty was completely rude. He, Matt, has no business in this line of work.Ethan C.

Not a location problem but the Uhaul internet site was difficult to use i.e. down loaded personal drivers license three times, unknown to us until we drove down to pickup our truck our truck pickup location was changed, only one truck key was issued making us tense on our 5 day drive not to lock the key in the truck or lose it.Robert C.

Excellent service all around at this location - thank you. However my experience the time before at your location at 219 E McKellips Rd, Mesa, AZ 85201 in February was not good. The agent who checked in my trailer was rude, curt, oddly un service related - he even charged me for a full day with just 45 minutes into a "new" day, out of apparent grumpy spite for unknown reasons, which was subsequently refunded to me by a very cool phone agent - I didn't even request it - he just saw the wrong and righted it unsolicited.Shawn M.

Price was misleading and the brand new truck had dings galore in it and smelled like someone was using it to clean out a barn. Would have been better but the smell was horrible. Good thing I only needed it for a bit. Thank you Jude HansenJudas H.

I was frazzled anyway because the original location where I had reserved a Uhaul didn't have one available, so UHaul transferred me to another location, but when I arrived at the scheduled time, the location wasn't open and they did not answer their phone. So I was transferred to a third location. The third location did not provide the dolley I had requested but o didn't realize that until I was an hour away at the load site. When I returned the UHaul and let them know, they stated it was up to me to remind them before I drove off. A horrible experience from the start and next time im just hiring movers.Katrina B.

I made a reservation at a different location. As I arrived at that location, I get a call from customer service stating that they don't have my reservation. The representative asks if I'd like to pick up the rental at the U-haul at Elliot location. The location is several more miles for me to travel, which is an inconvenience. As an additional inconvenience, when picking up the rental at the U-Haul at Elliot location, I am informed that I could be charged up to a $150 fee should I return it to my original choice of pickup. He could not tell how much the fee would be applied. Should I need to rent in the future, I will explore alternative competitors and recommend alternative competitors due to the lack of U-haul not being able to keep inventory updated/accurate and the potential return fees.Lekota B.

The inside of the truck was clean from trash, but there was dried brown and white stuff a long with food crumbs on the steering wheel and console areas in the truck. After cleaning, s far as performance, with my gloves on I was able to do what I needed with no problems.Tonya C.

I am writing to report a very concerning, disturbing, and unfortunate experience I had with U-Haul this past weekend on Saturday, April 23rd. I had a made a reservation Tuesday, April 19th to originally pick up a 20' U-Haul truck from the location in Rio Estrella Storage Solutions, address: 1429 N. Eliseo Felix Jr Way, Avondale, AZ 85323. The morning of Saturday, April 19th I received a phone call at 8am informing me the location has switched for pick up to 43rd avenue and Camelback in Phoenix. Exact location of 4240 W. Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85019. I was currently living in Avondale and moving to Ahwatukee and the manager on the phone explained to me that due to an unforeseen reason the location for pick up had to change. I understood and made my way to the location on 43rd Avenue and Camelback by 10am. The gentleman who helped my father and I at the counter checked us out and informed us he wasn't sure why but the 20' truck they were giving us was on empty. He informed us that if we brought the truck brought it back with a quarter of a tank that we would not be charged for gas. We then left the lot with the 20' truck and went immediately to the gas station less than a mile away from the location. We started to put gas in the truck and as my father and I stood there filling the gas we noticed it leaking everywhere from the bottom of the truck and splashing everywhere including on our clothes. We immediately stopped pumping gas and informed the gas station clerk gas had spilled everywhere. We then drove back to the U-haul on 43rd Ave and Camelback, informing the gentleman about the gas and he stated "this has been happening people are stealing gas and you guys really smell like gas." He was very nonchalant like this was something normal but at this point a tremendous inconvenience for myself and my father. It took the manager an additional 20 minutes to work with us at this location and she was not able to find another 20' truck for us to use. She was then able to locate a 15' truck for us to use all the way on central and baseline at the location of 340 E. Baseline Rd. I was not happy with this because by the time we got to this location 2 and half hours have now passed. We then proceeded to the location and the gentleman/manager at this location was very nice and understanding but also stated no discount could be provided at this time because that's not how it works. At this point I accepted the situation and had to have the truck in order to be moved out by end of day. Originally I had chosen the location drop off to be at the U-haul on 8162 S. Priest. Both times we picked up the truck the closest location for return was not this address and was an additional 30/40 minutes away from the Ahwatukee area to which I moved to. I had to select the option of don't know where to drop off as of yet. When I called the 1-800-352-6097 a gentleman assisted me and gave me the address to drop the truck off in Tempe to Molina Patio Furniture, address of 1245 W. Elliot Rd. He informed me they closed at 5pm and I made it there at 4:30pm. The location was closed, the store hours on the door said they were open until 6pm on Saturday but the door was locked and no one was in the store. I also called the store and no one answered. I then had to call the U-Haul 800 number back and inform them of the situation and he was then able to get me scheduled for the drop off location of 8162 S. Priest Rd. At this point in time with being covered in gasoline when my father and I went into ALL U-Haul locations they proceeded to tell us we smelled like gas and at the first location of 43rd Ave and Camelback the manager stated the fumes were too much for her and if my father could please step out of the building, which he did. I ended up spending a total of 4 hours traveling to and from U-hauls and dealing with this inconvenience. Ever since Saturday, April 23rd I have now developed this cough and I am thinking it may have to go something with the gasoline smell being all over our clothes that day. I have also taken covid test to ensure it is not covid and I am researching about going to get an exam out at an urgent care to avoid any further lingering of my cough. I also have not been refunded for the original U-Haul I picked up that head a leak of $81.83 and then was charged again $76.65 for the 15' U-haul truck. I was also charged an additional $7.43 from the drop off location on Priest in Tempe. I also had to pay $30.93 in gas for the U-haul. I believe at this point I am requesting a full refund for the faulty U-haul truck, and not providing me with the correct size truck, all time spent in traveling for pick ups and be reimbursed for the gas I had to put in the truck. This amounts to $196.84. I am also worried about the fumes that have been ingested from the gasoline and will make the decision if further action is needed. Personnel over the phone mentioned vehicle was due for service and we should return as soon as possible and due to the inconvenience she would credit $25-no credit was issued. Personnel at pick up location mentioned that a military discount would be given at drop off and still no discount. Super disappointed in U-haul. I have always used your vehicles and equipment and have never had any situation like this happen.Veronica M.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a U Haul location. They just threw the blankets on the ground in my general direction and I had to load them. I had to go out into the lot to find the truck myself. Even worse, they indicated that the fuel tank was full but it was barely over 3/4 so I was overcharged for fuel. I will be filing a formal complaint and refund request shortly. Lastly, the air conditioner did not work. Since the outside temperature was over 90 degrees, this made the trip very uncomfortable. Nothing, this location is awesome and so are the employees. This one of the few, if not the only, locations that doesn't treat me like your average idiot who's never towed a trailer. I've been towing for years, but don't have a trailer of my own, so I use Uhaul to move my tool boxes every few years or so and most Uhaul locations don't care if you own a semi, they treat you as if you're a moron who has only ever driven a Prius. This location seems to be staffed by people who actually have brains, so I give them 100/10.MATTHEW F.

Then I was given the keys to the truck Still in the office so I asked, umm where is it He then pointed â€œthat wayâ€ Turns out after a few minutes the key tags have the numbers in them. This is the second time I have rented from your company when the location closest to my home was changed to a pickup location further away. In spite of the fact, I rented days in advance. The change added an additional 14 miles to the cost. If this procedure continues I will find it necessary to rent elsewhere. At this time have no complaint on the overall facility or the truckon the. Don't tell customers their truck reservation is cancelled when they come to pick up because they are late arriving on moving day! No text or phone call to ask if it was ok to cancel and was told by the person at the desk "you are late and we can rent it to someone else since it is the 31st". Truck was rented for 24 hours.
