When I asked if I could return the uhaul to the original location, I was told no. Trailer was dingy and tires were missing caps. Never will use Uhaul again due to their inflexibility.

john A.Well, first truck they tried to give us had no gas and the mileage was about 100 miles more than what was listed. Replacement truck was fine. Still a bit confused by the three separate receipts I was sent once truck was returned. Initial quote was for $195 but entire rental ended up costing $450. We bought 2 boxes and opted to have Uhaul refill gas at end of trip. Gas was listed at $97. Fine. couldn't find line item for boxes, but still not clear where extra $150 came from.
Nicole U.There was an issue with our first reservation, so they were very kind and cancelled it and booked us a new reservation so we would be able to do the mobile drop off at 7am and not be charged a $20 early drop off fee since they did not open until 9 am, but our rental was due at 7 am. We arrived roughly before 6:45 am to drop off the rental and the mobile drop off was not working and the help line had over an hour wait. We left at 7:15 am after not being able to do the mobile drop off due to the reservation never being on our online account. We were charged the $20 fee for them to process the return of the vehicle “after hoursâ€. The whole point of them rebooking our reservation was solely to do a mobile drop off and not be charged the $20 fee but they clearly did not do that right because the booking was nowhere in our account, we were unable to do the mobile drop off and we're still charged the fee. We've never had this issue with other locations and this location will be a last resort option for us now at least for mobile bookings.

Robert T.My uhaul experience this time around was a joke. I was scheduled to pick up at 7am at on off site location 4 hours later on the phone I am redirected to the site at Del monte. I go to Del monte to pick up my rental equipment and tell the clerk I payed online, to which he disagrees so I pay again. I am now 4 hours behind and $500 plus in the hole for 1 uhaul (seeing that I was charged twice). Fast forward to drop off time. Again at an off site location where no one is present the gate is locked and there is no drop box for the key. Another 30 mins to an hour on the phone and a new drop off location. Now I am over my miles limit and being charged even more for the one uhaul I rented.. Smh definitely not going to be using uhaul any longer

Joe A.I feel lucky to be alive after this! The two employees seemed unhappy to be there and gave me literally zero idea of the responsibilities/challenges associated with driving a U-Haul truck. They could have AT LEAST told me that there's a list of common driving difficulties/precautions written in small-text above the driver's seat! Or that the truck they gave me was particularly worn and had a loose steering wheel that defaults at 45 degrees! Having to learn the challenges of driving a truck on the fly, WHILE adjusting to the steering wheel on 9 hour drive has been one of my most stressful experiences in recent memory. I acknowledge my inexperience as an issue here, but what's inexcusable is that when we called them to say that it was almost impossible to close the back of the U-haul, they quite literally said "yeah the contract says you rented it as is, please don't call again bye." They did literally nothing to help me troubleshoot it, compromising the safety of all my stored belongings overnight and leaving me to wonder if I'd have to try driving it with a jerry-rigged solution. Turns out the loading-ramp was so worn down that it was getting in the way of the closing-mechanism. We had to really FORCE the ramp in to close the truck, a solution we found out no thanks to Uhaul. I can let most things slide... I understand that working a retail-esque job sucks... but driving is a matter of life and death for me AND those I drove alongside. An eye-rolling attitude is not acceptable in this practice

Fernando R.I rented a GMC van for part of the day. It was a new van with only 4,000 miles on it, but I didn't like the van so much. The mirrors were not very good, the back up camera was not very good. Overall, I had a great experience, I just wasn't thrilled with that GMC van.
Patrick B.The van rented needed an oil change. I was not able to get the blankets and dolly that I ordered because there was a line of 8 people with 1 sales clerk and I did not have time to wait. The van itself was clean inside and drove fine. The location is nice and clean.

I had a bit of trouble with the Wi-Fi for returning the vehicle online. Could definitely have been my settings so I called the 800 number and returned it with telephone staff. Eric was fantastic and I was able to complete my return with his help. Overall a great experience!!

GARY F.I got assigned a truck that wasn't even there. Had to go back inside and got assigned a different truck. The miles were incorrect so I went back inside again. The man at the front desk wrote down the 17 mile difference on the paper and said that I just needed to show it on the paper when I was leaving and the they would fix the mile difference for me. When I brought the truck back I explained and showed to the man outside on a phone the 17 mile over charge and specifically asked if he could do the correct mileage. He said no problem and proceeded to do the checkout on his phone. I asked again to make sure and he said that it was taken care of. Then I received an email with the receipt and was STILL OVERCHARGED the 17 miles!!!! I called yesterday once I saw the receipt and the lady who answered said she couldn't issue a refund and To call this number today (510) 651-5400. I called and The lady who answered, after being on hold for 20 minutes, said she couldn't do anything to help and to call the Monterey office AGAIN!!! And talk to the manager. I waited on hold for 35 more minutes and when someone answered I couldn't hear anything but some static then they hung up. Extremely upset and disappointed. Uhaul over charged me. Thanks.
