Great service
Guadalupe RangelI had a very negative experience overall. I reserved a 15ft box truck and when there wasn't one available, I was "upgraded" against my wishes to a 26ft box truck. It was bigger than my apartment. I had extreme difficulty navigating it onto my streets at my pickup and drop-off location, it cost me hundreds more in gas, and it made every part of the move more difficult. In hindsight, I should have canceled my order and gone elsewhere, but I was on a tight timelines to move and my hands were tied.

They accommodated us in very little time with a utility trailer when we were in a pinch and also helped us with a fuse that needed to be replaced. Proud to be a Vallejo native and coming back to visit, this location didn’t disappoint.
Abigail CoteI've been renting from UHAUL for several years and this is the first time I've entered a rental office with a dog (Pit Bull) in the office. The dog didn't attack be, but it seemed out of place. The lady who assisted me wouldn't OK the rental until my contact number had been verified. As my contact number was for my son who is a deputy DA, and in court, he couldn't be contacted. I was stuck with calling friends until someone could be contacted, it didn't matter who. If I hadn't reached anyone I wouldn't be allowed to rent the call hauler I had reserved. So my emergency contact number could be for anyone willing to pick up the phone. Child, adult, whoever? You should seriously vet your employees at this location and possibly give approval ratings to those who often rent from U-Haul more than once a year. This lady was the one with the fair complexion.

From the moment I made the call to inquire about a rental, to the completion of my transaction, the representative was both efficient and friendly. The representative demonstrated a high level of professionalism and efficiency in handling my request. They quickly understood my needs and provided me with all the necessary information I required to make an informed decision. Not only did they answer all of my questions promptly, but they also went above and beyond to ensure that I had a smooth and seamless experience. What stood out the most to me was the representative's friendly demeanor throughout our interaction. Despite the busy nature of their job, they maintained a positive attitude and treated me with the utmost respect and courtesy. Their friendly approach made me feel valued as a customer and truly enhanced my overall experience. In conclusion, I highly commend the U-Haul customer service representative for their exceptional service. Their efficiency and friendliness set a high standard for customer service, and it was a pleasure to do business with them. I would not hesitate to recommend U-Haul to others based on the outstanding service I received from this representative. Thank you for a job well done!

Greg JoyI got the distinct impression that U-Haul was trying everything possible to ding me with additional charges, and has added additional requirements that are absurd. 1) Having to take a "selfie" of my face AND CDL while standing in front of the agent with my own phone! If you want a selfie, provide the camera. If you need a copy of my CDL I can just hand it to you and you can copy it. 2) Having me approve YOUR photos of the vehicle. First of all, you photos were quite low-res. Second, it's clear that disputing any of your photos would have significantly delayed check-out. BOGUS. I always do a 4k walk-thru video, and now it's even more important to do that. 3) Upon return, the agent tried to ding me with a fuel charge, based on the position of the gas gauge. I drove a total of 14 miles, and added 1.2 gallons of gas. I had to provide the receipt and had to argue whether the pickup gets less than 12MPG. I am a long-time U-Haul customer, but your recent changes outlined above are disgusting and will have me looking elsewhere the next time I need a vehicle rental.

Aymar BeugreThe Uhaul android app is absolutely horrible! I tried to pick up my truck using the app and wasted over 40 minutes trying to get it to work. Once I went inside and signed the truck out with the associate (who was very nice btw) I couldn't even complete the pre-rental inspection on the app. I took my own pictures of damage that was already on the truck which are geotagged and time stamped just in case. Had the same issue when it was time to return the truck and I had no other choice but to use the app or online. I ended up just having to use my phone's browser which worked much better. Before you push the app so hard you guys really need to make sure it actually works on ALL PLATFORMS. It kept loading forever and eventually would not find my location correctly even though location services were on and permissions were granted to the app. Won't be back until this is fixed.

James PleinNeeded service. Many empty spots in lot, so we parked (not prohibited, and we had only a few hours' move) well into drive we were threatened with being towed! Added hour and miles to rental (lot was well open, no signs, and very nasty area). So we moved the 11 feet onto street parking. Ridiculous. Would definitely not use again

Jo Goodson-PrinceI reserved my equipment over a month and advance and when I came to pick it up they didn’t have the equipment. They sent me to another store in a very bad area in another town and that store was closed with no one there. I needed to return to the Vallejo location to pick up a larger trailer which was not acceptable but the only choice I had. The representative that helped us while kind hearted was extremely unprofessional. I’ll never use U-Haul again!
Dave JeffcoatThe office staff and manager has been great, super helpful and patient. But that's two times in a row the tech did not install our trailer properly. This time, I made sure to check the tightening of the main locking screw and it was not tightened all the way and so I tightened it securely before leaving. Also one of the safety chains came off from my hitch while on the road. Fortunately there were no damages to my vehicle or the trailer. I installed the loose chain properly and had no issues afterwards for the rest of my reservation.

GARY APPELI had the moving truck for 2 days, yet, during this traumatic life event I was called incessantly by India, and another staff member told me the truck needed to be returned by 12:30pm (24 hours); thus causing our 2 hour trek to be extremely stressful with loading and returning. We also added MORE than 3/4 of gas that was needed as we were misinformed.

billie thomasHonestly, this location rocks! I have no complaints and cannot imagine how they could be improved. I will say I have a lot of towing experience -- including at least 5 previous trailers from this same location, and years of towing boats, and before that trailers in the military. I still get the optional insurance, however, simply because I know the many potential hazards. I came to have a hitch installed on a Wednesday and to pick up my trailer on a Thursday. Both were handled super professionally. All staff members I came in contact with were very helpful and courteous. In past years I've had long waits, but not this time (perhaps due to better staffing). Kudos to the folks managing this location!

You are forcing me to choose a star rating so I'm going to say "average" because nothing is perfect - improvement is always a possibility.

Anders ScottThis location does not have after hours pick up or drop off but when renting in line, it gives this option. This forced me to start two hours later than I planned. I was not made aware of the change in pick up time until I received an email the night before pickup of the time change. My original email confirming my reservation still had the time I wanted.
Chris SeidtI had reserved a 20 ft truck but there was a problem with the person who returned it the day before they called me and told me that they would have to give me a bigger truck. But I had no idea that they were going to charge me more for someone else’s problem. I should be given a refund! I did not realize this untill later. So not happy with that. Every thing else was fine/ great.
Steven JonesI would like to mention the professionalism of a young African American female, it was very refreshing to find someone who really enjoys her job, she was very courteous with me and all of the other customers that were in line, she explained the process to those customers waiting, due to the fact the line was long. Shout out to you young lady for making it a pleasant experience.

Upon return the clerk looked up the van to see that multiple previous renters reported this issue and yet it was still rented out with no prior warning about this.
