Instructions on how to use keypads need to be better. Instructions to sign in on the right pad and then sign out when you leave would be helpful. There was a female inside the building sitting up front, looking outside, smoking, with no shoes on. I asked her if she worked there and she said no. Just FYI. Building was clean and being able to unload/load, out of the weather is very nice. Thanks.

I found the staff to be courteous and professional. A very polite couple of guys. My storage unit was clean and very easy to get to. The motion sensor lights come on as you walk down the corridor. Very well lit. The building is very clean.

I could not even get into the building to access my storage unit. I called the store number, texted a site-specific after-hour line, called the main U-Haul number, and even chatted on the app to get help. I was still unable to receive help. I cancelled and demanded a refund of my unit the next day.

The process of reserving the storage unit was very easy online through the UHAUL APP, and monthly payments through the UHAUL APP was easy as well. I've been a customer renting a storage unit for over a year, and was very empressed by the awesome alarm system, and the cleanliness of the inside controlled temperature storage unit. Also, the recycle area was wonderful! I was able to obtain many items that I needed, from the recycle area. The customer service was outstanding with kindness, and service with a smile. I have no complaints overall, and will use UHAUL again in the future. It was a wonderful experience, thanks UHAUL!

The manager Chris was very rude and a liar. He stated he was going to help me out due to me having multiple lung surgeries and having to move and to call the office to set a time to meet. They WILL NOT answer the phone at the office so the call was sent to customer service (whom all were very helpful and polite) and customer service could not even reach them at the local office. Finally after multiple calls I was then told by the manager my stuff was auctioned even though customer service reps told me they would put a hold on the auction. I was then yelled at by the manager calling me a liar and he would make sure everything was disposed of. I had family heirlooms in there and expensive items. If I could give a zero rating I would. Horrible attitudes and extremely rude causing emotional problems and left me feeling robbed.

The staff at the Middletown office were helpful & courteous. My only complaint is that it was frequently difficult to reach someone by phone. I was on hold for a long time each time I called. I had to request a call back several times.

It was very frustrating and disheartening to learn upon our arrival that the storage unit we originally reserved was no longer available. Luckily, there was another unit for us but if that wouldn’t have been the case we would have been out of luck it seemed. This sort of thing happens regularly it seems with U-Haul that whatever is originally reserved and paid for is not available on the date it is scheduled for. It makes it hard to want to use this service in the future.

The staff never helped me with an issue I presented them with. I had a messed up lock that I purchased from them that would frequently get stuck and asked for someone to come out and help me open it. They said their manger would have to come out and I never heard anything from anyone. You can never reach anyone by phone and you have to physically go up there to get help. I moved out of the storage unit on 6/19/23 and they have my move out date as 7/7/23. A lot of my items in storage contained water or moisture damage and has mold growing on them so I had to throw it out. I went to the UHaul front desk and asked to file a claim to which the guy said he would have to pass my info along to his manager and guess what? I still haven’t heard back from anyone. This place is the worst and I do not recommend putting your stuff here

I reserved a large unit in advance of showing up via the app. When I arrived to check in, I was informed that the app lets you reserve, but doesn't actually mean there are units available. I was literally on my way to move my items into my unit and was left without a unit to move into. This process you have on your app is ridiculous. I can't even believe this is allowed. Absolutely terrible. I will be letting everyone know to not use uhaul storage. I would like to say the desk person was friendly and helpful explaining how terrible your system is. Not the desk person's fault for your terrible system. I changed to public storage by the way and I will never be back to uhaul for storage.

Let me just say I'm not 1 to complain. Yeah it was a nice storage place and all. But some of my things were damaged, broke or gone!!!!! Like an expensive coffee table I had GONE!!! And they say I was late on a payment and not only lock me out of the storge place but also red tag my locker after robbing and sealing and braking my property after the fact I have every recipet proving that I payed!!! Never again will I use u- haul storage In Middletown ohio or any for that matter.

Items stolen out of my storage unit and someone left their belongings in there which was evidence that someone broke into my unit and my boxes were opened into, none of the staff cared to help me. They gave me the wrong code to get into my storage unit, instead gave me a GM access code and my storage unit would set off the security alarm every time. This place is unreliable and staff are rude and not helpful at all.

I rented a unit from the example and price listed on the walls. I wanted an outside unit but was told they were full bit I drove around and at least counted 10 without locks. When give the toal it was much higher I was told the prices went up and the signs posted were wrong. I wasn't given a choice abt insurance or a lock And don't feel that's right. Facility was fine but the sales team was t up front And was selling what the supervisor said to push. Not good business

The storage unit was supposed to have a lock waiting inside. It did not. I had already loaded up my stuff and brought it in the building. When I called for help, I was told I had to go to a different location to get the lock. I had to repack my stuff back into my car to go get this lock. Then I had to come back and unload it all over again. Also, the unit was not swept out. There were chunks of broken ceramics.

There was no assistance at storage unit. There was a lock on my unit that had been previously left. I could only open my storage unit door half way. Move in was difficult. I could not use my own lock on unit to lock due to the padlock. Tried the intercom system numerous times but no help available. I went back to the store where I was given bolt cutters and told I could cut the lock off. Very frustrating 😕

Several items were taken from my unit. I called to speak with the manager and was told they would send her an email to contact me and that it was urgent. She never contacted me. I went to the office and she told me there was no way my unit had been opened. I requested the cameras be reviewed which did not happen. I made a police report and am still awaiting action. There have recently been numerous complaints of the same thing happening to several others at the same facility and the manager Amanda providing poor customer service and conflicting responses.

I rented 2 units at 2 different dates. I. Hold not Find my paperwork so I called the local UHaul Office and asked them to verify when my rentals were up. I was told Twice that I had till December 30, 2021. Then on December 27, I was told that one of my units was Due on December 27 so they made me pay $69 just so I could get my stuff out. Unit 1390 was completely empty on December 28, but I was still charged the $69.00. I asked the manager about this and she said she records calls but she would not Play it back for me. Very Hostile Office and Environment,

My locks were cut off and things stolen from my unit multiple times... The staff was not helpful in investigating the theft. You'd think with the door tracking and cameras everywhere it would be easy to spot the thief. However absolutely no effort was made. They still had the audacity to charge me for the month I was there.

Rentals are by the month. I think you should have some sort time rentals such as perhaps a week. We needed the storage for 2 or 3 days yet had to pay for a month. A big waste of money for us.

When a lady from U-Haul contacted me a few days prior to the rental to confirm, I told her I had just rented a storage unit at the U-Haul located at 2436 N Verity Pkwy Middletown, OH 45042. I asked if I should pick the truck up at this location as it was my understanding that I rented it from there. She clearly said yes and I asked if everything was ready then for me to pick it up. She said yes I was all set. So on the correct date and time I went to the U-Haul at 2436 N Verity Pkwy and tried to check in via mobile for my rental. It said I was in the wrong location according to GPS. So I called the customer service number and had to wait several minutes for a rep. She finally came on and had some trouble figuring out the problem. By this time it was 2:15 pm and I was to have the truck from 2:00-6:00 pm. I told her while she was trying to figure it out I will drive to the U-Haul at 630 N Verity Pkwy. She said yes that was best so I could speak face to face with someone (this even though I picked mobile check in so I wouldn't have to speak with someone face to face). She then ended the call. At the other location it took some time for someone to appear at the desk and then there was much confusion trying to figure out the problem. I then had to finish check in via mobile and there was a problem with that for some reason. I finally got the truck at 2:30pm, losing 30 minutes of my time. Once I got a load to take to my storage unit the code I received via email would not work. It said access denied every time I tried it (5 times). I called customer service again and there was confusion AGAIN. It began to snow and was freezing but I had to wait there by the check in card reader for instructions. This wait was 1 hour. I finally told the lady that I was going back to the other location at 630 N Verity Pkwy again and she said yes I should AGAIN speak with someone face to face. So I did. AGAIN confusion! The gentleman there said that they have been working with a third party who has not been pushing the codes through and that this has happened several times. I asked can I please just have a card to swipe. He agreed and then walked me through the steps on how to gain access. I never would have gotten it correct had he not done that as I had no idea I was to swipe or type the code nto 2 card readers. Then he had to draw me a map to find my unit. This took another 30 minutes. So I lost an ENTIRE 2 hours of my 4 hour allotment with the truck. By the time I drove back to my storage unit and dropped everything off it was time to return the truck BACK to the other location at 630 N Verity Pkwy. So I was only able to get ONE truckload of our belongings to the storage unit. Overall a TERRIBLE experience. While the gentleman manning the desk was very nice and apologetic the fact remains that I had a terrible time with this rental and can only hope nothing happens with the storage unit. I also asked the young man if I could have another card to access the unit and he said no I could have 1 card or the code, not both. So I chose the card since the codes don't work. Now I have to share this with my brother and have to drive to Monroe to get the card from him every time! And I will now have to just take several loads of items in my personal vehicle as I cannot afford the expense of another truck rental. What a mess!

There’s no 24 hour access into the building after hours

Employees don’t know anything. Pin never works. Have to drive back and forth to an office to the unit and still can’t get in with a card they give. No organization at all. Price so high you think you’d actually be able to get your unit and enter it? Nope not here. Wish I could take my stuff anywhere else.

I have redeemed a free month with u-haul and my receipt says that I don't owe anything until December of 2020 and today I went to my storage unit and they have it locked with a note saying I failed to make payment on my storage unit and I want my stuff back ... I have a receipt that says I have until December 14th 2020 before I have to pay anything. I will take this to small claims court if I have to ... This is unacceptable. My name is Carl Manns

The Billing system was a little difficult at first. The address to where the payments were made was different than the place of storage and caused late fees. Also the storage was being paid in advance at not after usage. My brother in law was able to pay the bills on line. This was helpful. He did not have to mail payments or drive to Middletown. The storage was set up for my nephew so he could have his things safe. The parking lot did have some broken glass occasionally but was mostly clean.

The security system continuously goes off. Even when I do every step correctly. The employee who was explaining it to me was rude. Also, I was told online it was 24//7 access, and it's not. This is the ONLY reason I wanted this unit because of the 24/7 access. You need to remove the 24/7 storage access from the outside of your building. The whole experience with storage and the security system and the customer service i have received is poor and I WILL NOT recommend to anyone.

At the storage unit I didn't know that there is one keypad you have to check in at. Once that was figured out it was great. Definitely is a secure place to store my items. I also love the courtesy equipment! Made it so much easier to move my items in. I will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a storage unit!!! Very happy with my choice.

I have a storage unit that was supposed to be 24 hour access but come to find out it's not in fact it is only from like 9am-10pm or something like that. I was mislead due to false advertising which stated 24/7 access and move in anytime. When I go to my storage unit the alarm goes off Everytime and we don't feel welcome and usually the cops come and circle the place and it gives me a bad name like I'm doing something bad when all I'm doing is trying to use my storage unit. And the rental of the truck was not clearly stated that the insurance was charged every day .

I had a 10x10 held with a confirmation# had to take and pay for a 10x15 because a 10x10 wasn't available I think I should have at least got it for the first month at the price of a 10x10
