Everyone at Uhaul was above par in helping us during our moves and storage needs. We still have a storage unit there and they were able to assist us with a cart to move our things from one unit to our other unit, even brought it down to us. I will only use Uhaul in the future

The store doesn't answer the phone all the time. When transferred to the main office there is nothing on the phone option for storage payments. So I had to keep calling the store back till they answered.

I want to give props to all the staff. They were nice and helpful. They came and unlocked the units when they all pad wasn't working. They were easy to talk to got stuff done and went on our way. It was beautiful. No complaints. I wish I remembered all their names. Sherry was there and she is amazing. Oh there was an older gentleman and I don't remember his name but he was awesome. Jackson was very nice. But again everybody there was awesome. Thank you U-Haul in Joplin. I will come back if I ever need you again.

I thankfully rented the unit the day before I needed to move in. I arrived at the storage facility and my access code was denied. I had to call and get someone to let me inside the building. Then the storage unit had beams making it impossible to get my items into the unit I had rented. I had to go to the main office to have the room chaged which led me to get a larger unit. I am highly thankful that I was given a month free in the bigger unit as I didn't need that much space, I just couldn't fit my things up to the 1st $45 unit. Then I had to be let inside the building and shown the next unit. When we got there the 2nd unit was already occupied by another person with their lock. We had to drive back to the office to have the unit changed again. We arrived a last time and were let in and I was finally able to use the unit given on the 3rd try. My access code and key card still didn't work the next day and I had to call and have someone come open the door to put my belongings in my unit during the open office hours, not just the 5am-10pm stated while booking because my access code didn't work.

I had the storage unit for a while after I moved south. After a little while I went back to Joplin to pick up and close out my account. During this time the secure facility that I figured my stuff would be safe in I found out wasn’t at all. All of my tools and valuables were missing. Workout equipment, military awards, military uniforms, ect were all gone and a new lock placed on my storage unit. I reported it to the uhaul store and they refunded 2 months for my troubles…. So I lost thousands and received like 100$ because it wasn’t secure. I had issues with identity theft also reported in Neosho and I’m certain that this breach was due to the items lost in the storage u it due to it having a safe with all my old tax Info and military forms.

unable to enter storage building with digital code, no answer on intercom, had to drive down the street to notify staff of issue thus incurring additional mileage charge on the uhaul truck i was driving. once staff let me in the building i was told the digital codes often do not work and staff would have to let me in. once inside the building my storage unit had a hole in the door. once done in my unit i was unable to secure the building. notified staff and they just shrugged their shoulders

There was a rafter that I had to go under before getting to my storage unit. I'm 5' tall and had to bend down under the rafter. Some of my things would not be able to go under the rafter. That was not clearly stated when renting the storage unit online. Also, in the agreement it stated there would be a lock inside of the storage unit for me to use and there was not a lock. We ultimately decided not to use the unit based on there not being a lock inside the unit but, I feel the rafter should have been mentioned when renting the unit on uhaul website since it is a uhaul storage facility. I usually love my experience with uhaul but this time was very complicated and I ended up having to pay more for the truck because of the unit. I will say on a good note for the storage facility. I love the fact that the unit was inside of a building for more security. The unit was a good size for the price. The facility was very cleaned and well maintained. A better description and pictures of the facility, including the rafter you need to go under, would have made this process a lot easier.

Staff is always incredibly rude and undependable. Problems began when we were first getting the unit and they gave us one that had a lock on it, they gave us two more units that had locks on them and one that seemed to be a personal storage for their U-Haul signs before we finally just told them the number for an open one. Had one guy get really mad at me one day because he was talking with his mouth full and I could not hear what he was saying so he rolled his eyes at me and raised his voice. Also have had issues with being able to access the building during normal business hours because their card reader would be broken and we couldn't get a hold of people to fix it. Overall we moved our stuff out of this storage unit because of the incompetent staff, I will never do business with this location again!

While the staff I dealt with in the store at 2521 E 7th St did help, since the website would not let me complete my reservation, they were EXTREMELY slow. I explained that I had tried NUMEROUS times online, and had called in multiple times, it wasn't working and I had people waiting at my old residence with my belongings packed up ready to move them into storage. The store was not busy, I was the only paying customer inside when I arrived. It was like she did not care about her job, did not want to help me and just wanted to go back outside to smoke and talk with another co-worker.

This facility has had multiple burglaries and it is well-known to the staff. However, they failed to tell customers and knowingly put customer belongings at risk for burglary, which is exactly what happened to me. Conveniently, the security cameras were down for over a month in the area where my belongings were stolen. U-Haul claims no liability for their incompetence and negligence. They failed to notify customers they knew the system was down and yet claimed to have a secure storage area. It was near impossible to get management to return phone calls and I stopped by the office four times before I finally met the manager. A nice person, but clearly not permitted to solve customer issues by corporate. Very disappointing experience and would not recommend this facility for storage.

Contents break ins unlocks doors. security cameras never operating. On site manager. The worst problem did not listen now l been broken into and now lam at a lost. The best way to solve this problem i have photos of ever thing the last few weeks before. I would really appreciate a meeting and show you, all the photos to what been going on i have been they 15 years average of 200 month and this last year no help to get this problem taking of. please look at the photos and see for yourself and there more. Poor customer service. When i rented the Storage unit the girls who helped me gave me my first unit. I went to the storage only to find a lock on it. So I went back only to be given another unit with a lock on it. So finally the third time of driving back and forth. I was given a empty unit. Well I ended up not needing the unit. So i requested a move out online. 32 days go by never got processed. I tried emailing the facility manager never took care of it. I tried calling never answers kept getting forwarded to 1800 due to no answer. Customer service sent emails to the manager never responded. I was told I would get a refund for June nope was lied to about that. Instead back dating to my move out date they put yesterday date instead. I was charged for an entire month due to their error and lack of service. I will never return to this storage facility again. Worse experience ever.

The u haul employees did not have my reserved storage space upon arrival; but said they had another for me. We got there and it turned out to be an upper level catacomb style, yes, really; accessible only by ramp. I said heck no! Told the guys right then and the manager the next day. I was told my storage reservation would be cancelled and I would not be charged for that month or any going forward…needless to say I am still being charged.

The internet sign in was confusing and clunky without proper instructions. Got multiple text and email messages that overlapped and didnt know which ones to respond to. When calling for help you never got to the right person or department instead it went to a call center where they also couldnt help. The digital keypad was broke for access to the building so we spent 30 minutes making calls and finally driving to another facility to find out the door was ioen and unlocked. The unit was sold as a 12x6x8 2nd floor. Its actually a 5x5x12, 6, off the floor accessible only via portable warehouse ladder. This should have been noted. Luckily we just had a mattress and sofa to load. If you had appliances or something heavy you would never get them in there.

We were given 2 separate storage units that were occupied. Then were given a unit that was half the size we purchased. We were given an open unit and told the price would be adjusted to the unit we purchased. This didn't happen for 5 mos. Our name was taken out of the computer 4 times in 8 mos, the insurance was removed and the price would go back to the higher price. We were charged a late fee and a $50 fee for late payment we were told would be waived because they couldn't find us in the Joplin facility computer. We were never able to access the bill online to pay it.. I feel this facility uses the bait and switch to get you in a higher priced unit and promise it at a lower rate but remove you out of the computer when an adjustment was made. Very unorganized.

Unit 15 that was rented to us smells like there has been a decomposing body in it and the floor is wet. It was almost after hours when we rented it because the initial offered unit was unavailable and so we were given a smaller one. That meant we had no where to put the rest of our things.

We needed extra storage in a pinch. We were able to unload and load right back into the same size storage the same day we arrived. Can pay bill online. Easy to close out when we moved out. All was done over the phone

The unit was dirty. In there system they didn’t know which one was actually empty. It had several leaks in the roof. It had a hole in the floor. Management put a uhaul lock on it because I did have a round lock on it. The reason why is the round lock would fit. This location is poorly organized and managed.

Our account got “lost” and conveniently around that time, someone cut our lock and stole thousands of dollars worth of stuff, and most of it being stuff that is irreplaceable. One camera at the facility at the time and it did not view my unit. It has been difficult with insurance to get my items replaced and I’m still in the process, because my account was missing. The people at the actual location of my unit were helpful, but the ones at the office down the road were no help while dealing with this issue.

Dear U-Haul , “What we have here is a failure to communicate”! That’s what the problem was at this facility. When I called customer service for U-Haul they said they had 4 available storage units in the size we wanted, but they really didn’t. They had 3 of them that had a bunch of junk in them, so they weren’t really available. We rented( even though we got the first month off),then waited for more than an hour with our movers(which was costing us more money), and finally we got frustrated,canceled and left with no storage unit. In the end, we were very unsatisfied customers. I take that back, the only 2 satisfying things at this facility was 1 friendly young employee(but he even set up with a storage unit that was locked and later unlocked by him to only discover that it had a bunch of junk in it)and the purchase of a lock. So,the only real satisfying things were some friendliness and the purchase of a lock. We will definitely not recommend this U-Haul facility to anyone nor ever go back. Sincerely, Very unhappy campers

Worst customer service experience of my 65 years. Staff assigned a unit already taken. Gave wrong info when asked questions. Gave no info at all unless asked. As I was moving out a lady was moving in who was experiencing same difficulties I did, so it was not just me. Would not recommend.

The unit was under construction as we were using it. I was a bit unsure of how secure it was at this time however, I understand it will be a nice, secure, well-lit facility when it is finished. The employees are very nice but they always seem to run into computer problems. This is frustrating for the customers as well as the employees.

I will never rent u haul ever again on storage I went into my unit to clean it out and alot of my stuff was ruined due to water damage, and I went into the office to try and talk to them to get them to deal with it so I didn't have to get my attorney or my renters insurance and they would not close my account out and they told me to leave their property then they call me and tell me I'm past due on my rent and want me to pay when I was already moving out when I found the damage before my move out date

No lights however they were in the process of installing them. The lot was littered with sheet metal screws due to flashing install and light install. We parked on a nearby street just to avoid possible flat tire. Lot was very small and impossible to get larger trucks near unit without blocking several other units and restricting lot access to other customers. Cleaned our storage unit out 9 days early and didn’t receive any money back.

Im sure it was the systems fault, but i was assigned a locker, got there to find it locked. Had to go back to the desk (they were pretty busy so i was there for a while) and then had to come back to the locker old to find it was occupied with someone elses things. We then had to find a new locker, and i didnt have the option to keep the same size. The smaller ones available werent big enough, so i had to go with the bigger option than what I originally paid for. So, more money. And the thing was, I reserved the locker a week prior, so im not sure what the issue was. The staff was very friendly though, and tried to help me as much as possible.

We had returned the rental truck one day early and according to the paper work and staff we should be entitled to a forty some dollar refund. Please explain this discrepancy as we were led to believe we would receive a small refund if the truck was returned early. We have used B. Brand before with our moves and no problems, we move a lot because of my profession, look at your records. And I can say we would go out of our way to use brand B. With our next move. The return was good customer service but the person who rented to us (Mitchell or Michael) was the rudest person and had terrible customer service skills, he was so unfriendly and made us very uncomfortable, we felt like a bother being there, We understand everyone had their problems but you must leave that outside of your business. Next time, we’ll use a different rental service. This is terrible to treat your customers this way and if know one stops it it will just continue, only management can fix this problem. Good luck.

Not a friendly place at all. The guy told me to get my furniture pads like I knew where they were and I had to ask where they were. He tried to charge my credit card before he told me the total so I could transfer the amount to my account to cover the charge. Over all very disappointed.

The shop is a good shop. The location is terrible. The intersection/light on Florida st., and 7th street is ridiculously dangerous. I walked to your business as I didn't have someone available at the time to drive me there, and I live/lived close by. There is no pedestrian walk light or walk for this intersection. This made getting to this business extremely difficult. The city of Joplin is endangering lives by neglecting a safety walkway for pedestrians. If somebody dies because of this, I hope they decide to SUE the city.

Very expensive, so we wont be using UHAUL again sadly. Dropping off truck, one guy behind the counter left alone. Lots of computer problems it sounds like. Several customers waiting before me. Counter needs more coverage, and the store should NOT be left unattended with customers inside. Policy and procedure check?!

I reserved on truck got put in a smaller one was made to pay for another day because I didnt have the truck back in 5 hours when I had received a text message from uhaul stating I had till the next day 24 hours so I think that was horrible. The tank was not full when I picked up. Everyone one in that location is everything but professional.

.Upon returning the truck, I found my car blocked in by i believe a gray chysler car. The U-Haul workers in the bay next to the lot just watched and laughed as I struggled to inch my car free. I am sure it was very funny to watch the crippled customer get their car free. The employees should never have been allowed to block s customers car in that's just rude on all levels.

stop telling customers rates that are not true. stop telling them they have the unit for 2 days and the next day call them and say they are late delivering the unit back to them. they repeatedly told me one lie after another which caused a lot of stress on me as if moving is not enough stress.

I returned the truck with the same level of gas and less than 5 extra miles compared to what I estimated and was somehow repeatedly charged on my card that I receive money on when I donate plasma. Now that card is negative 30 something dollars and I had no clue because I wasn't contacted at all. Very unsatisfied and honestly feel ripped off.

You have my email address. There is a lot to tell. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have rented from this office. They are RUDE, ARGUMENTATIVE, AND LAZY. Because this time was last minute, I did try any other avenue rather than use this office but was forced by time constraints to use them. This time the truck I used showed a low tire (and it obviously was) before I left town so I took it back and asked them to change it as I would be alone pulling a trailer into the night a long distance. The (bald) guy put some air in it, waited about 2 minutes and said "Looks like it is going to hold. I don't hear an air leak." (as he stood beside the truck next to a busy intersection) I again asked for him to change it. He refused. I went in, told the (tattooed) guy who shrugged me off. I made sure road side assist was included. That was Thurs. I made it the 200+ miles to my destination and used the truck some Fri morning. Sat am when I tried to use it, it showed low pressure again - and it looked low. I called road side assist. A guy came and changed it. Then he wanted me to take it and get it fixed. "Hopefully they will reimburse you". I was at an event and could not leave during the day. Sunday am when I was packed and headed home, sensor came on again. Called roadside again. They will send someone but I am on a road w/ little shoulder. We plan for me to stop at the nearest gas station and call. By the time I got there, the sensor says it needs servicing and the tire is visually fine. And I have no spare because the repair guy took it Saturday. I am in the middle of western OK. There is not a repair shop open for miles. I told roadside assist that I would keep an eye on it and did. It made it home and back to the office. I told the manager of the trouble. He could not have cared less. And I told him it was running hot at times, this I found odd since supposedly I was the first one to use it after being serviced. I also told him the running lights were not working. He said it MUST be my trailer. We have had this discussion at a previous rental time. Again I told him they work with other trucks. He charged my account (significantly more than my calculations, which is always the case) and told me I was set. I have listened, while waiting, to their interactions with other customers. It is not just me they don't like.

I DON'T KNOW WHY UHAUL ASKS FOR A CREDIT CARD WHEN MAKING A RESERVATION, AND THEN make uou go through the entire process again when you are there for pick up. I don't like to complain, but I will. When prople are moving, they are pushed for time. It is an extremely frustrating experience when you arrive and then wait 30 minutes to hook you up. when you arrive, it should not take more 10 minutes to sign the contract and hook you up.

When a customer says they have a fridge, washer, dryer and boxes to store you should choose a unit for them that they can get those items in. There’s a 4 foot clearance on the upstairs units.
