The pick up was easy. The drop off was not. I had brought my own furniture pads and ties/wraps to use in the move, and when I returned the van 4 hours later I accidently left them folded and in a box in the back of the van. At drop off, the drop off employee was busy and told me to go and leave the key and he would send me the final charge receipt. When I called the next morning to ask if my pads and ties were found last night, no one knew the answer, and told me the same van was rented early that morning and was not due back for 2 days. they called the new renter and left a message that the equipment was accidently left in the van back and to please bring it back when the van was returned. When I called back in the morning 2 days later, they said the van was returned but no one knew about the pads and they could not be found. I called back the next morning after I learned the name of the employee who checked in my return van, and after speaking to him, he said the renter said no pads were returned. After pushing him further numerous times, he said just a minute, and went to look for the returned pads. He said he found some furniture pads but not the 2 comforters and the box with all my rope and wraps. I said I would drive in now to pick up my equipment. When I got there 30 min later, the box and one comforter was with all my furniture pads, but the other comforter was missing. The employee who checked me in after drop off, said he called my cell number and it was disconnected. He repeated the number back to me on my rental and final invoice and my cell number was correct, but he repeated the number he called, and had accidently transposed 2 numbers backwards in the wrong order, which is why he received a disconnected number. I am happy that I was able to retrieve most of my own equipment back, BUT the process was time consuming and frustrating since I had to keep pushing to get a correct answer as to whether my equipment was stolen, misplaced so no employee was aware, or thrown away after 24 hours, which is what the employee told me at first. To make a long story short, the rental was easy and I will go back if another rental is needed in the future, but the follow up was long and too frustrating to retrieve my own equipment. Thank you.

Some complications checking in online: Previous photos documenting condition of front, sides, back did not include front, but rather shoed another photo of the back. Somewhat complicated, but not unmanageable process. Staff were polite.

I reserved a truck to be picked up on Sunday, through mobile checkout (2nd Street location). However, after trying to check the truck out, I was denied because my drivers license is temporary since I just moved to Oregon. I experienced difficulties changing my pickup location to the north Bend location. The truck was a bit dirty and showed ‘oil change needed’ on the dashboard.

Today 03/11/2024 the facility located off Hwy 97 in Bend, OR installed trailer wiring. On the way home I discovered that my cruise control/radar system is not working, I’m not sure if anything else has been affected? Everything was working well before the wiring was done so obviously something went wrong during the installation. This is a Toyota RAV4 with only 7,000 miles on it. I’m not happy!

I used an Auto Transport trailer to haul a Toyota 4Runner and the tire tie down straps were on the short side for the stock tires, there was only about 3" of strap to work with and not the 6" the video and instructions guide called for. The straps held the entire trip and I added another strap for added security. Extra long straps would be better than short straps. Otherwise the entire process and experience was smooth and extremely easy, and the staff I worked with were great.

Did not mention needing a lock for the trailer hitch so it's not stolen while at your residence. Person who delivered said sorry nothing we can do. This should be mentioned or offered. Had to pay additional $29 for this style lock.

I couldn’t get the truck I reserved. Had to use a 10’ rather than 15’. Took two trips and added a good hour to the move along with doubling the mileage and gas. While I like this location and the people, totally unimpressed with the outcome this time. So, average review based on that.

The counter people rude and lazy. I’m 73 years old lady they told me to go find my own U-Haul and the number but it was snowing so hard I couldn’t find it. So I went back in there and they came out and just put it over there. I said you’re not gonna walk around it and check it out or you didn’t not gonna not gonna snow offer anything for me no. He said if you needed any help you could ask you no I said I’m asking and then I shouldn’t have to ask and he still didn’t do anything just turn around and walk inside.The tires are bald the brakes are bad in the snow it was a horrible horrible trip I only went 10 miles round-trip move from house to house but it was terrible the brakes were just terrible. I’m not maintaining or a check in the tires or even help the customers as BS I never go back there again

Service was prompt but when I left after my hitch was installed, I heard a scraping sound from the back of my car. I stopped the car and could see that the lining of the wheel wells for both rear tires hadn't been put back in properly, and were rubbing against my tire. If I had just taken off, the lining would have potentially gotten ripped out and caused a lot of damage to the car, and a lot of snow and dirt would have gotten into the wheel well. I returned and asked the mechanic who installed the hitch to fix the lining and he tucked it back in with his pocketknife but I was unsettled by the lack of attention to a pretty major detail in terms of putting my car back together after the hitch install.

The manager and workers at this location were always less than helpful. They never knew about auto-pay issues and why at times I was being charged double. When we first moved in we returned a rental truck to them from San Francisco. They apparently could not even check that in properly as weeks later we had received a letter that we stole the truck. Unfortunately, too much hassle here, would not ever recommend for all we went through in less than two years.

Came in for a truck and a furniture cart with a digital app pickup. When I showed up and tried to pick up my equipment it stated that there wasn't equipment reserved with that reservation. When I went inside to talk with the employees, I then had to wait in line for a half hour. The whole point of the app pickup was to avoid this. When I did finally get to talk to someone they informed me that they did not have any furniture carts available. Moving from an apartment with elevators to navigate this was a critical part of the rental. It should not be a surprised on moving day that suddenly you don't have the equipment that is associated to the reservation. It should have been reserved and set inside the truck waiting for my mobile app pickup. Very disappointed and will use a different rental company in the future.

The gas tank was 20% full when picked up. U-Haul incorrectly listed it at 60% full. It took a lot of my time to get this mistake corrected. I had to add window washing fluid myself. Your insurance is a scam. Twice the price to add the roof of the vehicle? When I insure my vehicles or home the roof is included and not an additional cost. This is a ripoff. It would also be nice to explain to the renter what Tow/Haul on means and does prior to departing. I was told the drop off point would be open till 2pm last Monday. However, this location was closed when I returned the vehicle requiring more time by me by phone to complete the drop off.

There were 3 days that I could not access my storage unit due to the keypad being broken. When I could find the staff, they were very friendly & helpful. But many times I had to wait or walk around the facility to find someone.

The equipment works but is not in the best condition and had a little bit of debris that should have been swept out. The staff seemed bored to be there, you can tell they don't like their jobs.

The truck I rented was just too worn out, and about half of the trucks on the lot looked the same. The headlights were so dim I couldn’t drive at night, the gear selector was so loose I couldn’t reliably find the right gear, the transmission slipped repeatedly in first gear, and the body of the truck looked like someone tried amateur demolition derby with it at some point.

I have been renting from this location for over a decade. I have experience mediocre to poor service in the past, but worked through it because of the location. In my visits some staff had been under the influence of controlled substances, rude, and complaining about Uhaul staffing and policies to me. The staff in this visit was nothing short of amazing!! I watched your counter staff member patiently assist a couple who truly did not know what they wanted, but wanted a moving product. Your agent clearly explained the virtues and strengths of all your moving and storage products. In assisting me see was friendly, efficient and accurate. The equipment staff at pick up and return worked quickly, had my trailer ready before I arrived, helped me install a new towing ball, in a professional manner. The staff member (Cole) who received my rented trailer back into inventory worked quickly, professionally and had an excellent attitude I have held CEO positions in larger public safety organizations and after retirement have moved into leadership of nonprofit organizations and have a clear understanding of motivating and retaining exceptional employees, and you have struck the appropriate staffing plan at this location

I rented a 4x8 enclosed trailer for a 350 mile one way trip. The trailer I got was a piece of junk, it did make it to my destination with no problems but was a mess. looked like hell with dents and dings trashy appearance. Maybe they just wanted it off their lot because they had plenty more newer nicer ones available. Just thought I would let you know. I held my breath hoping it was going to make it.

Bend location was fine but the truck itself had issues. Windshield wiper mount was broken and was much needed in the severe rainstorm we experienced. Passenger mirror would not stay in place, back of truck leaked water and got our items wet.

My truck windshield and windows were iced over. had to run the engine for 15 minutes to defrost things, and use the ice scraper from my personal vehicle to clear the windows. The staff there didn't help me, and had no tools to assist me. The cargo area door was frozen solid, and I had to drive the truck to my home and use de-icer and hot water to get it open, then I saw the cargo area was dirty and had to be cleaned out before use. The staff did nothing to help me, had no aid to offer me, and did not have the truck ready to go, clean, or useable. When I asked for any type of help, they said 'they don't do that here'. Horrendous service.

I was told I would be getting my first month free because I rented a truck and dolly to move across country. That was not the case, I ended up paying for it anyway. Absolutely would not recommend. And I was incredibly short on time with no other options.

The fact you cant move stuff in on holidays. Theye Close at 1:00 pm on christmas eve and dont open tell the day after. Anless you pay three months in advance. Was willing to but the boss wasnt there to accept it

Reserved outside entrance unit, got inside unit. Got locked in the area due to malfunctioning keypad TWICE. So much equipment stacked around the area that maneuvering through there, especially with a U-Haul truck, was ridiculously difficult. Nothing but trouble the entire time. Would not recommend.

Reserved an outside access storage unit - got an inside access. Reserved a truck and a trailer for one way rental. Both offered 1 month free rental but manager would only allow one unit free. Large unit unavailable so I had to get medium and small unit. Small unit lock area so dented it is nearly impossible to get the lock on and off. Area around units is so congested that moving a truck around the area is cumbersome and aggravating. Code lock to inside unit works about half the time. Fence actually wouldn’t open once despite inputting the code and receiving acknowledgment. Thankfully the store was still open so I was able to flag someone down to open the gate. Not impressed nor am I inclined to recommend.

I moved out of the spot because there was constantly a U-Haul truck blocking the access to my storage facility. Someone felt the need to park the U-Haul truck inside the facility directly in front of the door. I might stop now twice at least and call ahead to have them move it when I needed to access things but they did not do it. Overall I would not recommend based on this fact alone

He also wouldn't let me into my warehouse. There were dogs and a lot of aggression, please watch the video and evaluate for yourself what is happening. Watch the video, a sick psychopathic grandfather works there, he let his dogs loose on me, called me obscenities, did not give me a truck, although I just said that I have a stock, I practically do not speak English, but I understand everything, he said he would kill me if I I'll come again, I have video footage, you have it too, I saw that you have a lot of cameras, look at them. This grandfather is sick on his wife's head, he just slaps her on the back of the head, he's really not himself. I will not recommend this office in Bend to anyone. I wanted to sue him, but I urgently needed to fly to Florida. Please deal with this person!!!

I believe this facility has untrained customer service representatives. They are there merely to do a job. Not one smile, conversation or offered help when needed. Even Locked me out of my storage because my hired mover was stuck inside with a trailer and your staff didn't bother to move vehicles stored inside gate instead of outside. When a customer is literally trapped inside, think we wouldn't be angry? And then lock me out because of "a bad attitude". You need to train your employees. I worked for uhaul out of toledo and I would have been fired for such behavior.

I had made a reservation on February 6 for a storage unit to begin on March 13. On March 1, I called to change the move in date to March 11 (I spoke to Connie on 2/6 and Cal on 3/1). When I checked into the Bend location on March 11 at the end of my one-way rental, they couldn't find any record of my reservation. The good news is she was able to set me up as a walk-in and there was one unit that was available for me to rent.

The issues I have with this place are not necessarily the fault of any employee. The staff was always friendly and helpful and the facility was secure. The downsides to the facility are mostly location. This u-haul facility tries its best to get huge trucks and trailers rented out to people in one of the smallest parking lots possible. Their inventory ebbs and flows and I'm sure they try to keep things well stocked. The storage facility is located on the other side of the loading lanes and you have to go through a jam-packed, usually blocked parking lot to get to the gate. To clarify, the blocking happens because of new customers not knowing where to put their car, not because the staff blocks the lane to the storage facility. But, bc of this, I have had to wait for new customers to get back to their car and move which can sometimes trap me at the facility for much longer than I'd like. Then there is trying to leave U-Haul. Definitely use the backroad rather than trying to get right onto the 97N. There's no going South and it's just an unfortunate spot to have this facility. High traffic area, jam-packed parking lot, and limited directions from which you can easily leave. Lastly, I had an outdoor 10 x 10 storage unit and it came with a rat/mouse trap in the corner and the ceiling was falling apart. I came back to my unit after a summer/fall and mice had definitely gotten in there and peed and pooped on everything. Super bummed to have to clean everything again as I move into my new place. When it snows, the aspect of my door is shaded so I frequently dealt with ice and snow making moving large or heavy things, less safe. Most of the town is understaffed and I've never seen anyone at this facility waiting around for something to do, they are all working hard but I'd advise that they take the snowy, icy conditions under consideration and clear a path for people that might be trying to move in the middle of winter. It would be awesome if a new U-haul facility was built better, in a low-traffic area with loads of space, which could improve this situation.

sometimes the door was locked to get into the inside units and I would have to exit, ask for assistance and then re-enter, not fun when raining. Tyler was always helpful and friendly. Also, a map of the units inside the gate would be helpful. I couldnt find it first time easily.

Not sure who will read this, so writing it as if it's someone off-site. I'll start by saying the staff was helpful and kind, for the most part, and I'm sure are doing their best with this unfortunate location. The unevenness of the ground all throughout is crazy in itself. This facility is extremely hard to access and utilize. When the majority of trucks and other rentable equipment is out being rented, it's a little easier. There was always some kind of equipment located next to the access "driveway" so I never knew what to expect and whether I'd be able to make the tight turn. The storage units are located in a square-shaped space that is barely big enough for 2 vehicles to realistically pass each other around the corners. Even still, they (have to?) store a bunch of U-Boxes inside this already tight space. We had to request they move a couple of these to access our unit one day, which meant one office person had to go use the forklift - sheesh. If we needed to spend any amount of time loading/unloading or just going through our unit, we had to cross our fingers and pray the neighboring units didn't need to access at the same time, otherwise it would have been near impossible. When we brought a moving truck in, even worse. Many a time I had to back out, as there's only one entry/exit point and if you can't get around others, backing out is your only option. Thankfully no one else was ever trying to enter during the times I had to back out. Our unit (so lucky it was on a corner) was also missing some of the weather stripping, so dust and all kinds of outside dirt was swept in over the winter, creating a very dusty, dirty situation all over the items in the front of our unit. We also had vermin - rats and mice - which was extremely unfortunate. The damage included bites to the edges of wooden picture frames & other art (strange) and poop/pee all over many items and boxes. They also nested in a box of coats (all had to be tossed) and in some dresser drawers that contained feathers sealed inside ziploc bags (which they chewed into). So bizarre. Mostly disgusting. I paid for the insurance, but not sure it would be worth mentioning those things. One final thing: not sure if this was due to staffing issues, but the only restroom located within the secure area was closed the entire time we rented "due to Covid", which I took to mean staffing shortages. Very unfortunate to have to walk out, punch out, then punch/walk back in when your unit is in the back.

I paid $4,000 to get my stuff from Georgia to Oregon that took me 5 years to save. It was my dream. I put my belongings in the storage unit for 4 months. Paying $99 a month! My movers who moved everything into the unit called me and told me everything was destroyed. I have been crying I was hospitalized and I have been suicidal so I want your company to know what you did to me. Everything I have to my name is destroyed. I grew up in foster care I have no family. I'm 35 years old and everything I own was sentimental. I sent videos and pictures of all my destroy property. My movers are doing a affidavit. There were dead mice on my stuff also! My stuff is saturated and urine and feces. I literally want to die! Thank you for taking my life and destroying it within 4 months. I've never felt like this in my life. I called the facility monthly That's how crazy I am to check my stuff because I was freaking out with anxiety. I wanted to feel like home and get my stuff into my apartment and everything is on my porch. Everything is being tossed. This was the worst thing you could do to someone's life. Your company is horrible for even their response back. I did speak to Anthony and he assured me that he would figure this out with me. It doesn't matter how much you think or how many apologies my life has changed forever because of this. And I hope your whole company understands this. People's property some people are different I needed my stuff this world is so scary and lonely my stuff is what makes me feel not lonely. Sas SAD WORLD.. YOU BROKE ME.

The flood last year seeped into my unit #41. I would not recommend this UHaul location to anybody. The wind blew a lot of dust into the unit. Very dirty. Flood damaged some of stored possessions. Insurance team removed bed mattress, box spring, small couch without ever contacting me. I emailed a message that I saw no flood damage before the AZ team came.

Uhaul cancelled my reservation without any notice so when I arrived at my move in date I had no storage unit. I rented a trailer with a one way destination and move in at a uhaul facility. Uhaul is very unorganized, and it wasn’t the bend Oregon location, it is your actual company itself and the people on the phone/internet. I did all the steps correctly. I will never use uhaul again.

The lady gave me anxiety with lots of lip. I came early 8am to make sure it was all set. My movers shower up at 930 just to stand and wait due to my reservations not being found. Then they were found by Michael. Then the lip kept going! I was in the right. I never felt so little for HER MISTAKE near people in the store also. I asked her to stop saying my INFO OUT LOUD.. Access to the units can be very frustrating due to the layout of the lot and limited area to navigate through. Several times I had to sit and wait for vehicles to be picked up or dropped off in addition to limited room to turn around in the alleyways where the units are due to trucks and trailers being parked in there due to overflow.

Worst of all, is blocking path to entry/exit keypads with trailers and rental trucks. I feel it’s business first before storage unit customers. After reserving a 10x15 outside access unit online 5 days in advance, and being shown the unit I would be getting, I arrive on move-in day to find that my unit has been rented out to someone else. Additionally, they now have ZERO inside or outside units of that size. I was told I could pay $50 a month more for a 10x25 unit which I didn't need. But wait, the employee tells me that oops we already reserved that unit to someone else, and has to make a phone call to the woman that reserved it to see if she still wants it. By some random act of chance, she didn't, and I was able to get the 10x25 unit. Being that I am moving away in less than a week I don't have time to search for other available rental units in the area, so I'm stuck having to rent from the incompetent staff at Uhaul self storage of Bend. Stay FAR away from this facility. Either it's a bait and switch to get you to spend more money or the staff don't care to hold your unit for you after you already reserve it with a credit card online. Horrible customer experience. They didn't even offer to take any money off the storage unit after they made the mistake. We won't even mention that they have zero medium or large moving boxes and zero packing materials available in their store when I arrive.. Moving is stressful enough, this company only makes things much, much worse. Buyer beware.

Poor drainage at the facility caused us major damage and losses when flooding occurred, affecting both of our units, both drive-up and inside. Staff were very helpful in the recovery/clean-up effort, but losses may or may not be covered by U-Haul. Locks were inexplicably changed by the facility even after contents were verified as intact after a second storm, with no explanation provided.

It is beyond insane you would send me a survey after what your company did… my possessions were insured through you. You found a loop hole in the paperwork and chose not to insure our goods. I responded to your inquiry and you still took the liberty of throwing away uninsured items within 24 of your contact after waiting almost two weeks to contact me about the event. What your company did is criminal. I am not threatening action as I know you work for an entity who would rather waste money than do the right thing. So yeah… not very “content”. Hi I actually didn't end up using the unit and called u-haul less than 24 hrs later to cancel. The help line said to go to the store and they can refund you if you hadn't used it yet. That worked out fine but I was still charged 9.95 for a lock that I never received? I'm not sure if the lock was already attached to the unit because I never went to unit itself. I almost was not able to get the size storage unit I reserved a month ago. There were 5 different people on the list for the same size (5x10) and there was only one unit available. I just so happened to be the first to check in. Now the other 4 people will not get the unit they reserved. This system makes no sense. Why would u-haul let you reserve a storage unit and then not have any available?? The system should show when units will be available and only allow you to reserve accordingly. The same goes for the trucks and trailers.

Was easy to get storage the same day. Was the only place that was open and easy to deal with on a Sunday. No contracts so it was easy to close our account once the storage was emptied out too. The only thing I would recommend is making the website a little more user friendly for online pay. This was the only bill I have had to call and pay over phone every month because the website wouldn't do what I needed and then I didn't trust it to take my payment and apply it correctly. I use apps, phones, electronic payments and all those things all the time so I am not technology illiterate. Other than that the service was a breeze and easy to deal with

Please install sand paper anti slip grip tape to all your trucks. I slipped and fell and hit my head outside my storage unit 130.. if i had been seriously injured I would have grounds for a lawsuit!!
