My experience with the app was terrible — 0 out of 5 stars. I was not able to pick up my rental via the app without contacting customer service and then, ultimately, going into the office. Then, I was unable to return my rental via the app so I again had to call customer service. What’s the point of having an app if it doesn’t work? Extremely disappointed in this aspect of the experience.

I had a deadbolt on my storage unit even though I was up to date on my rent when I brought it to the employees there wasn't any kind of empathy or even a "hey that sucks we're sorry that happened" apology.

I don't like that there are a Dolly and blanket compartment that takes up space in the truck that we paid to rent without the need of these two extra items. If we removed the Dolly to use the space... we would be charged extra for it. We paid to rent more than enough blanket pads already.

The U-Haul they gave me would t even go over 30mpg I couldn’t take it on the interstate nor belt line which made me go the long ways which made me use was more miles then I should have. Also the dolly wasn’t full hook in nor were the moving bag clean or replaced. Over all the staff that gave me this van should have never let me go on the road with it. I didn’t realize until I already had the U-Haul packed because my storage is at the U-Haul place as well. I was actually gonna reach out to someone because I deff shouldn’t be charged for what I was.

I requested to have my 2 U-boxes brought out of storage and made available to be loaded into a U-haul storage unit. One service tech told me they would be dropped in the loading area right outside of the storage building entrance. The next, when they were scheduled, they dropped them off in the back of the parking lot. When questioned, a different service tech informed me they could not be dropped off in front of the storage building entrance. I repeated the info I was given the day prior and he reluctantly went to “ask a favor” of his peer, saying “he can’t make any promises.” The boxes were then promptly moved and the tech on the forklift made it seem like it was no problem - if not a completely normal service. Above all, it should be made clear to me, the customer, what is possible and what isn’t. Clearly it was possible to have the boxes dropped in the more convenient location. I should not have had to insist that it be done.

When we went inside to tell the worker all that was wrong with this vehicle he said it was not his problem he checks out the vehicles and that the crew outside handles that. He was slightly rude. We told him we just wanted him to know so they were aware. Went outside and told those workers and they where polite and friendly.

These questions are not exhaustive enough. My overall experience was poor. The website was a nightmare to contend with when modifying my order from two to three containers. Working with Movinghelp was horrible. The price went up radically when I got a third container. For unknown reasons, for the drop-off, U-Haul unilaterally decided to move my containers miles away from my place (not the original, closer location). This cost me more money. I would not recommend this service again.

I rented a truck for a short trip. I needed to move something from Vergennes, VT to Hyde Park, VT. The closest rental facility to Vergennes that was on the way was in North Ferrisburgh, VT. However, they didn't have the right size vehicle(s). So, I needed to rent it from Williston, VT, which was further away and added miles to the overall trip. I then wanted to return the truck to Morrsiville, VT which was the closest facility to my house in Hyde Park. However, UHaul would not let me return the truck there, but instead I had to drive it further away to Jeffersonville, VT to return it. This added even more miles. The online rental only allowed me 51 miles for the total trip. When I rented the truck in Williston I told the employee (Charlie H.) that that would not be enough miles and to add 49 miles to the trip, which he charged me for on the total bill at that time. My online quote was for $180 which included the $16 insurance. I then paid a total of $249 in Williston after I upped the miles to 100. When the contract was printed, however, Charlie H. someone subtracted miles from my original trip and I now was only allotted 32. I told him that was unacceptable but he assured me it was right in the system and that I had 100 miles for the trip and would not be charged for the additional miles up to 100. However, on dropping off the truck in Jeffersonville I was then billed an additional $68 for additional miles used. I immediately called customer service and spoke with Michael Taylor. Who, after I explained this entire situation to him, said he was sending my issue to 'management' who would contact me ASAP. That was Saturday. It is now Monday evening and I have not heard from 'management' regarding this issue and I still have been billed $317 for a trip that was originally quoted as costing $180. I am VERY displeased with the service and treatment.

The service was quick and the location and selection of equipment is convenient but the trailer was very dirty. The clerk couldn’t locate the trailer at first but once he did he helped hook it up which was nice. The only real complaint is the cleanliness I would say. You couldn’t see any of the decals or stickers due to all the salt, sand, mud on the trailer.

Vehicle wouldn’t start in parking lot, throwing tons of engine codes. This all happened in the U Haul parking lot, to which employees said I could just call the roadside repair person, from the parking lot. On the trip the vehicle through 10+ codes which I have taken pictures off. Vehicle was not good to go at all, needed alignment(pulled right) breaks made entire truck shimmy when applied, transmission would slip gears, clunk and caused a stall on multiple occasions on and off freeway causing huge safety concerns for me. Lights on the trailer acted up/wouldn’t work sometimes, even when plugged in correctly/securely/clean connection. Overall terrible experience, and I did not beat the crap of out the vehicle. I was very respectful with all equipment and made sure to take care of everything to the best I could.

Fix your online reservation portal. Fix your mobile app. Clean up the identity verification process. All of these areas contributed to an hour wait, and a total waste of my time. I’m definitely not recommending u-haul to anybody ever because of how disingenuous, unprofessional, confusing, and just all around inefficient. I will definitely take my business back to Penske for longer moves, and to Home Depot and Lowe’s for simpler, in-town needs.

I had to travel all the way to your Williston Vermont location because my reserved trailer in Jeffersonville Vermont’s tire was flat when I went to use it. When I got to the Williston location I had to wait forever to get my trailer. Not only did I have to travel an hour and 15 minutes out of my way, I had to waste another hour and 15 minutes to bring it back because they would not let me return it locally at my original place of rental in Jeffersonville Vermont. I wasted a lot of time and money running around getting the trailer I had reserved in advance. It would be helpful to have the trailers maintained by inspecting them before your customers who are reserving them come to get them. If they had done this for me it would have saved me a lot of time and money.

I waited 2 hours..not only were they trying someone they were having computer issues. Was there at scheduled time 10 am, finally was getting in uhaul truck to go and hook a car hauler after hooked, trailer lights were not working. They found a broken wire and fixed it. Waited another 30 minutes. I also scheduled pickup for equipment and after reservations I received a call to pick equipment up in Williston which is 70 miles away. Took all day to get truck. Truck also was not clean , someone left a bunch of food behind driver seat.

My overall experience at this Uhaul location was delightful. But, it would be great to have ramps on the 10 foot trucks! Or even a ramp on a pickup truck. I had to pick up a very heavy electric arm chair and needed a ramp. So I had to rent a 15 foot truck for 1 chair.

I rent vehicles every month for our adoption events. We typically get them from friday-sun. This month we needed thurs-Sun. I was told that no 15' trucks were available, so rented two cargo vans for the same amount of time. Without even a call to me, the uhaul folks allowed a volunteer to take a cargo van back and trade it for a 15" truck still the same amount of time. Then the phone messages started coming in on saturday mid day saying that the vehicles were not back and if they were not returned that they would be reported stolen to the WPD. Imagine my surprise! I am 71 years old, female and a regular customer. I do not seem to fit the profile of a thief....or so I thought. Well I managed to reach a person who clearly had me pegged as a criminal and could not help but interrupt me at every turn. After hearing almost nothing of what I said he finally offered to extend the rentals by a day which was not really an extension as it was what I asked for in the first place. The truck and the van are back and this was simply another crappy and unprofessional happening to cap of a crappy weekend. Disgusted. Dawna Pederzani

The truck was in bad shape and felt unsafe to drive. The alignment was very off which made it very difficult to hold a line while driving. And nobody warned me that the truck could not reverse if there was a half inch of snow of the ground, so I had to strategically plan my whole route so that I only moved forward or was on a hill if I needed to back up. It was extremely stressful

Terrible customer service. Dashlights on truck didn't work. Older very loud. High mileage on truck. Received.wrong truck at start. One employee discussed new policy he check in employee wasn't aware of i in front of us. Because of recent thefts., treated us like we had criminal Intent. Never have been asked for two personal references to rent a truck. Whole experience was horrible. Will never use this facility again. In the future will be checking the competition for my moving needs.

Your location is convenient but it is the ugliest eyesore in town. You've abused the loopholes in signage requirements and made something so obnoxious that only your marketing department can love it - for the rest of us, it's just an abomination for Vermont. Then there is your APP. It's horrendous. It failed to work a few times, you have to find the secret button others, and just overall is a totally crappy experience.

I called and was left on hold my trip into u-haul. I was in a 20 minute line which put me past my 12:00 reservation by 15 minutes, and then they tell me I was too late and besides we don’t have your 26’ truck I reserved a week ahead of time. I had to take a 10’ thing no ramp and had to drive twice as far multiple trips. I filed it which put an extra 1/4 of a tank of gas in the vehicle returned it in 6 hours vs 24 hours and I get charged more because of the mileage cause you didn’t have my truck! Very upset! I had to take a day off from work at no pay to do this!! No excuse for this at all! Lousy customer service making it look like I lost my reservation because I was past the reservation time and you never had my truck!

Middle of a snow storm they rented out several rear wheel drive vehicles with all season tires. I’m a very efficient driver (race cars, off road durbys) I saw several customers unable to even get out of their parking spot. The want a refund. I couldn’t even get the van in my residential driveway. I hardly got it back. If there is a snow storm you should absolutely not be renting these things out. I expect my money back plus some. This is ridiculous. 3 plus million dollar new building and your employees are awful. Your company is going to kill someone renting these out without snow tires.

When I rented the storage unit 9 months ago the building was dirty and not well maintained. The bathroom was filthy with overflowing trash and it was impossible to get help in the office. There has been a big difference in the past couple months. Facility is very clean. Staff helpful. Much better experience recently . I understand how hard it is to find good staff. I appreciate the efforts at making the facility better- thank you!

I only used the unit for two weeks and they would not give me the difference back! That was not explained before renting the unit!! I would only recommend using after telling potential user that you don’t get a prorated rate if you don’t use it for a full month!!

When we arrived to check in to our unit, it was not cleaned/prepped and there was no lock available. As it was a Saturday we needed to wait until Monday for them to get a lock. The staff was apologetic and kind, and it worked out ok for us but would have been a real inconvenience if we had more items we were ready to move into the unit but couldn't. While this was a bit of a pain, overall I was pleased with the service and the helpfulness of the staff checking us in.

Staff was friendly but not exactly helpful. I actually arrived in town an hour later than intended. As a result i barely made it before closing. I didn't notice that i reserved the wrong size unit until the next morning when i started unloading the truck. I had to reserve a new one and pay for both. They didn't know how to convert from one unit to the other or how to cancel/refund the first payment on my card. On top of all that my security card doesn't work on the card reader and the person in the office couldn't fix the issue.

Chris was very helpful with the process. I was afraid I was going to lose my reservation for the RV storage so we setup the payment and Chris said bring the RV over anytime it is ready. On 10/14/23 I brought the RV over and backed it into my spot. Hopefully it will winter well under the overhead storage. Thanks for making the process easy.

All of my experiences wit the Williston UHAUL staff have been positive. One recommendation I would make is to periodically clean the moving carts as they have seen a lot of wear and tear since the facility opened. Most of them have dirt, paint, other stains on them. I know a lot of care is put into cleaning the trucks and trailers that are rented out and it takes staff time to maintain the facility, but it would be nice to see that the carts get a quick wash from time to time. Thank you for having a space that is clean, well-lit, and secure!

What could be a better storage space rental than one on the first floor that is climate-controlled ? U- Haul Storage Facility is superior in every way. The staff is super-friendly and helpful; there are carts of different sizes to accommodate your move- in or move-out. Incredibly, l was able to secure a storage unit when they are in such high demand. I was impressed with the security of the facility and pleasant experience my daughter had when she rented a unit. So , it paved the way to my renting a storage unit as well. Because of various delays and “hiccups” , l found that U-Haul was flexible with several unavoidable delays at my end , and were so accommodating with date changes and then time changes on top of it. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved that staff (not only over the phone, but in person), readily worked with me . Everything is efficient , clean and organized. The ease of renting a unit and a truck are “user-friendly” on-line. I cannot say enough good about this brand new U-Haul facility in Williston, Vermont.

Everything about the U-Haul was good except the move-out process. I reserved the storage unit on uhaul.com and the website made it seem like I was supposed to initiate move-out on uhaul.com as well. 8 days after I initiated move out, the request was still pending and I had to go in to the office to get it done. I tried calling multiple times but could never get through to anyone who could help me understand what the delay is. If I'd known that I needed to just go to the office, I would have done that the day I moved my stuff out.

One minor complaint. I tried to call, and when I couldn't get through I stopped on my way home from work total to the staff of the local storage facility. There was only one person working and it took a VERY long time for my turn to ask questions. The answer was basically "I can't do anything for you. Keep refreshing the web page." So basically the facility was understaffed, making it take an excessive amount of time even to get answers to a relatively simple question. If you had adequate staffing, I would give you 5 stars.

The facility is great, exactly what I was hoping for and the communication clear and purposeful once we got acknowledged after waiting in an empty room for a bit. My one complaint is that not only was bathroom was out of toilet paper, the trash inside of the bathroom was overflowing so much that it was taller than the sink and spreading out onto the floor and there was what looked like blood smeared around the sink. Because it was beyond the state of average use we when we arrived we mentioned it to one of the agents that the bathroom was out of toilet paper. We were there several hours unloading from a cross country move and saw the agents leaving for the day having not addressed the restroom at all and it got progressively worse as our day went on. In need of some serious attention, please.

Everything worked as planned. My only concern is that you can book a reservation, but that doesn’t mean the trailer will be there, or that the storage space will be there when you need it. Staff friendly and try to help but are limited in either training or authority given. I made a credit card payment in person and it was never processed and my 93 year old mother got a delinquency call. I heard, "we need a manager for that" on several occasions. I could not even buy a $3.95 item with cash as the manager was unreachable. Great facility, great staff trying to help. Give them the authority and advance training.

This is my second unit at this location. Unit 1187 unfortunately didn’t have a tag on it, nor did it have a lock. It had sticky, oil-like liquid all over the floor, a coffee cup in the corner and dirt…that I had to clean out before moving things in. Other than that it’s an easy, Smooth rental experience.

On site help from the staff at Williston VT was great. The Williston gets a 5 star for its efforts and help. I would recommend a bit more attention to detail as my name was botched once and that caused some issues with my reservations. The only reason I gave a 4 star (for OVERALL UHaul storage experience) was the online process (verification, check in) wasn't at all smooth and required me to call UHaul several times. I was always routed to the UHaul call center and found the interactions with the call center inconsistent - once I was dropped and another time was given the wrong rental unit.

Moving in to the storage unit was super easy, competitively priced, with great access. The luggage trolley’s were a big help and there were plenty available. I didn’t realize when reserving that my unit would not be accessible 24/7. For someone who works 2nd shift, it is super inconvenient for me not to be able to access my unit after 10pm. I will likely have to chance facilities. As happy as I am with the unit, especially having climate control for such a reasonable price, If I can’t access it during the times that I need, it doesn’t do me any good to have it.

I’m making a move from NJ to VT and rented a unit last Thursday. I moved items yesterday and arrived at the unit to find my access card didn’t work. I called customer service , who left a message for the manager. I also left a voicemail at the number on the access card reader. I also called the security company. I had to find a safe place for my belongings on a Sunday night, which is not easy. I still have not heard back. I called customer service again, which couldn’t reach the manager either and routed me back to the 1-800 #. Please call me back! GM was beyond awesome and incredibly accommodating on helping us with some oddities - including some things that were odd sizes, letting us return trailers conveniently instead of driving to another location, etc. and Marco who was on his way out of the building after his shift ended and noticed we were having problems with our hitch, so he stopped to help us and was so awesome! This place is well run with good peeps.

The facility was great and the staff were helpful, but there was only one staff member out of the three who was able to help—the general manager—as the second person I found (I walked all around the building trying to find someone to help me; three other people were also looking for help; and a line of cars went out the door) was a maintenance person and the third person was in training using the forklift. I saw one person drive away because he had been waiting for so long and no one was helping him. Once I got help, they were wonderful, but there needs to be a better system in place and communication about employees’ whereabouts to customers; otherwise, U-Haul will keep losing business like the person I spoke to who was also waiting for 20+ minutes.

Staff person Marco Marroccia was awesome. Our reserved 9' van was not available so he quickly moved us up to a 10' box truck. We drove only 5 miles to load the truck up but then found out the new location for the family of 5 was not ready so drove back to Uhaul with a loaded truck. He told us with a truck rental the first month of storage was free and the new facilities 2nd floor was now open. We had been told before storage units were all taken. We quickly unloaded the truck into storage and our day was done. Thank you Uhaul and Marco!

UHAUL staff are wonderful, calm, supportive friendly and sincere. The staff really listen to their customers and are very knowledgeable. The new building is impressive in layout and the Interior spaces are designed well too. The freight elevator works well and it can hold several large pieces of furniture. The moving tools like the push cart trolleys made moving in a smoother process.

Reserving a storage space @ this location was a nightmare. When I called them, the calls were always redirected to a national call center. The national call center said there were no space available in the entire state of VT. I called several times trying to talk to someone @ the Williston location to see if any units might be coming available but was never able talk to someone there. The calls were always redirected to the national call center. I called the national call center again & requested the Williston location call me. I never received a call back. After trying, for several days, to reach someone @ the Williston location, I decided to call a different U-Haul location in Williston and to my surprise someone picked up. She informed me a new facility had just opened up in Williston, but I needed to talk to that facility to reserve a storage unit. She gave me their phone number and as usual I could not get through to them. I was finally able to reserve a unit by connecting with someone @ the national call center. I received an email confirming I had a unit reserved. A few days later, I got an email, from U-Haul, indicating I cancelled my reservation, which I did not! I tried, again, to reach the Williston location to let them know I planned on keeping my reservation but, as always, I couldn't reach anyone there. I was redirected to the national call center. They couldn't see that I had even reserved a unit, let alone they cancelled it. Fortunately, I was able to reserve another unit. I tried to reach Williston on my trip to VT from NC because I noticed the day I was to return the U-Haul truck was a day off. Couldn't reach them. The calls were directed to the national call center several times. I was able to get the return date corrected. I asked them when Williston location closed, they said 7 pm. We got the truck unloaded @ the Williston location around 6:30 pm. When I went to give them the truck key, the office was locked. I was told they closed @ 4 pm even though the hours posted said they close @ 7 pm. There were many other problems with renting the U-Haul truck as well. Not a good experience all around. I don't know why anyone would use U-Haul?

The manager is very nice and accommodating. He switched my unit to one a little closer to the door. However I am having issues with the door closing. ***Also a big problem was that there are or were PODS placed right in front of the entrance sliding door and also they were taking up value parking spaces right in front. I except to be able to park near the door and not have pods placed there. There are only a handful of parking spots and to have pods there was not acceptable especially for what you charge for storage.

I had a really hard time trying to open the door to my unit and had to ask another customer for help. The door slide could use some DW40. Otherwise, all was good. The young gentleman who helped us out had his hands full while I and five other customers were waiting for service, as he was the only staff on site. He was extremely courteous, apologetic for our wait time, and super helpful. You've got a good one there!
