The exterior of the trailer was dirty and there was a burned out light on the top of the trailer. It was during a time when the roads were very dirty so that is acceptable, but all lights should be in working order

-always had trouble with the monthly payments, was locked out of storage locker monthly which was very inconvenient. Every error was on the side of uhaul -the area where the unloading zone for the storage lockers were was always totally covered in ice. Looks like it was barely salted or cared for -when I urgently needed access to my storage locker and was locked out, the following day I tried to call to sort it out at around 6pm, still an hour left of operating. Called the store the entire hour and NO ONE could answer. Just want to the call centre -seems like no one cares about their work here, unmotivated, not caring? Not sure but it was never a super pleasant experience.

The location staff were great, however, there was confusion regarding our drop-off location, which caused us to have to drive back and forth quite a bit. Though U-haul said we would receive compensation, we still have not been contacted regarding this.

As a long time customer your standing policy has always been bring the truck back full of gas. The truck i rented yesterday had just over half a tank of gas and i ended up putting $20 more fuel than i should have. Go back to your old policy it erases any doubt and eliminates any issues.

Front desk attendant was not friendly. She was abrupt and her mannerism to the lot attendant was not good in front of a customer. If you don’t like your job, then quit...or maybe that’s just the way all U-Haul employees are and are trained because I have yet to come across a friendly one. Equipment was not cleaned. I know I rented an open trailer in winter but at least sweeper shovel out the snow and ice.

Well for starters my storage locker has been mismanaged from the day I rented one. Every month my PAD wouldn’t work and I’d be locked out because of no fault of my own. This experience with renting the truck was fine but everything else associated with the location has been very subpar.

Thoroughly check your trailers, especially the electrical, prior to renting them out. I started at the 50th Street location (bad electrical connection in the only unit that U-Haul had there, was sent to the West End location where I experienced exactly the same thing! Next, I was referred to the Winterburn location; a place I chose not to go to given that my needs were in Sherwood Park. However, the people were friendly.

Only one person on at 8:30 am so the wait was longer than I like. Also, being a regular renter of your cargo vans I find it a waste, a true waste of my time to have them call someone I know for what, verification that I’m standing in front of them. You have my driver’s license and my valid credit card. I am seriously thinking of switching to another company just to speed the process up.

Tired are not good enough for Edmonton winters. The main reason for my below average rating is because of the fuel/refilling policy. Rather than supplying a full tank, they want you to refuel at 1/16 of tank positive or negative. If your over fuel level, they dont refund...but if your low, it's a 1.69 a liter. Provide a full tank, and it would be a lot easier

Was told fuel on contract would be changed to reflect what I got the truck with as the fuel was lower. Dropped off truck with more fuel than what I recieved and somehow was charged $21 for fuel.

Make sure interact pin pads work in conjunction with the computer system . Upon return there were 5 people in line and no one at the counter . If a staff member is assisting me , please don’t have them assist another customer with me standing right there.

Very disappointing. This was my second rental within a week. I reserved the auto transport the night before at the south side location, got a call before going to pick up that it is not available and you will have to go to the west end location 30-40 mins away from me at last minute notice. Very inconvenient. Would not let me return to south side location for the inconvenience. As well as the loading ramps would not stay in the locked position when extended out. Car almost fell off the trailer while loading due to the ramps not locking in place. Tie down strap ratchets kept binding making it difficult to strap down. I needed to rent the trailer one more time later this week, but after renting it for the second time this week and having these issues when I paid full money for operational equipment is not justified. Very disappointed.

This was the worst U-Haul rental experience that I ever experienced! Firstly, the trailer was not available for pick up at the original location which required me to travel across town to pick it up and drop it off. This took a couple of extra hours and lots of driving. The person making the reservation didn't do it right, assuming that Im renting for 6 hrs not the entire 24 hour period. Issues continued at the 154 street location, since I originally wanted coverage for damages which was included on the original invoice. The representative assumed that I wanted to waive the coverage, even though I got charged for it! When I returned the trailer I was told that one of the tires is low and needs to be fixed and since I didn`t have coverage I would have to pay the cost of repairs! The total bill was therefore more than twice as much as my original invoice, which makes me question UHaul damage coverage practices. I will not recommend the 154 street location to any customers especially the way they deal with damages.

I actually wanted 1 way move. Unable to accommodate had to rent trailer for 1 week. Customer service at front desk when renting was poor. Customer service when picking up dripping off. You need more than 1 person in yard they were swamped. CBT give good service when swamped

Only issue was getting through to customer service representative on the phone - in some cases I spent a fair bit of time on hold before I could get to talk to them (20+ minutes) Otherwise was very happy with experience. Was able to extend my usage of the rental with ease without coming back to the storefront which was very convenient

The day before my scheduled pick up, I got a call saying that my equipment changed from a 12x6 to a 8x5 and my pick up went from the 50th st location to 17th street location. This was unacceptable as I had booked two months prior to my reservation date and the size of trailer was significant. After a very difficult phone call with uhaul where I was offered and open (not enclosed) trailer, and told a few times there wasnt anything they could do, I had my original order back: a 12x6 at 50th street and my same pick up time. The following morning, as I drove up to the uhaul location, I thought to double check the location as I didnt get a confirmation regarding my reservation. Turns out, pick was at the other end of the city! I dont mind a change of pick up location as long as I've been told since my whole morning was timed to pick up the equipment on time. Now we were running late. When we got to the location the cashier and person who took us to the trailer were snarky and full of attitude. Yes they got the job done but comments like "why are you making me do an RV first thing in the morning" were not necessary. Moving is a long and stressful day and the very basic of not being difficult to work with in a customer service position is expected.

I don't often visit Uhaul, in part because the experience is consistently disappointing. Today we booked a quick pickup, which then took nearly half an hour in store to process. The frustration is that staff didn't even acknowledge any customers except the one they were working with at the time. I felt that I was invisible. Once I got my turn, the associate was pleasant and polite, but didn't seem to know much about the trucks. My experience with the return was equally frustrating - staff simply left the room without greeting customers or giving expectations of how long the wait might be. I spent more than 15 minutes in the storefront without being greeted or acknowledged. For much of that time, I was alone - no staff and no other customers. When finally offered help, the process was easy and took less than 2 minutes. The vehicle was fine, and once I spoke to attendants, the service was fine. To make the experience less horrible, staff could take a second to greet customers and give some hint that help will be coming.

The trailer I used was broken. It almost dragged me backwards. I think there was an issue with the automatic braking system. I used more fuel pulling that empty 6x12 than I did a 7000 lbs trailer. When I told the employee when I returned it he had the attitude of “oh well that sucks”
