When I visited your location on the morning of Friday Feb 14 2020 your employees insisted that it was illegal to transport a motorcycle in the back of a truck. This is not correct information. And when pressed for proof they revised their claim and insisted that it is "company policy". Based on my experience of the two employees I would not this location knowledgeable or helpful. On my return visit on Saturday Feb 15 2020 the employees were different and they were far more helpful. However, the motorcycle trailer that I rented had nails and screws frozen to the trailer floor. It was not encouraging that your equipment was provided with trash left in it. What would it take to clean it? You're treading on thin ice UHaul.

Incompetent team. Set me up with the wrong contract and I ended up paying a lot more money than expected and wasting two nights instead of spending one moving. Very rude and not helpful and in no way tried to help. They actually tried to trick me to leave the truck at another location and “deal with billing later” very very untrusting and sketchy way of doing business.

I thought I'd save time by registering on-line before going to the UHaul on Colby Drive in Waterloo, Ontario.Instead, it actually added time. I was asked many of the questions again. They didn't have my charge card info complete. I had my card WITH me but it had to be handled online through UHaul? The time on the contract says 9:18am. The truck wasn't given to me until close to 9:25am. The contract claimed that the fuel tank was at 3/8ths. This was not accurate. It showed slightly over 1/4. I have a photo showing miles in and the correct fuel reading. The service person who I believe was Ethan Kennedy knew I took a photo of it. HE serviced me at the counter AND brought the truck up. On return, I added gas that put the needle to very near the same as I received. I also have a photo of this with miles out. I was told I had to pay the gas charge ($30+....and I only went 19.3 miles!) because it was not at 3/8ths as per the contract. I refused to pay it and said that I had the photo to prove it. Kennedy never asked me for it or check the fuel gauge in the truck himself. When I was adamant about it in a stern (not loud) voice, he told me to calm down...enjoy the day...get a coffee into me....go home to "the wife"....no need to be upset. I told him that I had a right to be upset and did not back down. He finally conceded that the fuel charge would be waived BUT it would go on my record that I did not return the truck with 3/8ths of a tank....which as per my photos is absolutely not true. But not to worry...because I will never ever use UHaul again and will not recommend it. I can't help but wonder if the additional fuel charge claim is something that is a commonplace tactic to upcharge the rental.

When I picked up the truck yesterday, the fuel gauge indicated it was at just under 3/4 of a tank. The guy who pulled the truck up indicated it was "a smidge" under 3/4 and should be noted. After I finished with the truck, I went to fill it up. When I did, it stopped at $19.68. I tried to put in another $1.24, but the tank was full. The fuel gauge didn't reach 3/4. I left a note when returning the vehicle. I took a picture as well of the dash with the mileage. The only complaint I have is that the fuel gauge should be fixed.

Absolutely horrible! No customer service as they keep telling you to use the app even when the app wasn't working. Refused to help me do it manually, never inspected the truck prior to driving and was very condescending. No point of having workers at the store when they don't do ANYTHING.

The Colby drive location is always excellent. Staff are personable and treat you like a friend-askingnabout the move, the truck etc. Reviewed the close out of my order and truck with me and even gave a customer service discount for having gone out of my way at pickup.

The process for returning the trailer was quick and easy. The process of picking it up, with uploading the drivers license photos and watching the agent fill info into your U-Haul software was painful. It took half an hour.

Got a 15 dollar charge for cleaning a trailer I rented.not sure why I was charged and never told of the charge. When looking over my bill later it was discovered. Transparency would have been nice.

staff blatently lied about how and why electronic personal data was being collected, stored, and used. When asked why I had to take a picture of my license front and back and upload it to uhaul, the staff member said it was a lawful requirement that a picture be taken and uploaded to the MTO. She then assured me that since I took the picture on my phone, it would not be accessable by Uhaul and that it wasnt stored on a Uhaul server or on an MTO server and that it was alwasy going to stay on my phone. THis is categorically wrong as the MTO does not require an ID be uploaded to them every time something is rented. Also the very basics of how the internet and uploading anything works shows that this data would absolutely be stored on uhaul servers and not on my phone. It is against the law to lie about how consumer data is collected and stored as well as to who has access to it. this interaction opens up consumers to risk of a data breach and also opens up uhaul to liability due to lieing point blank about consumer data. during this entire interaction, the staff member was also extremely rude. I will never go back to this location. Action should be taken to educate the staff at this location.

Been there to rent a 10 feet truck on 24 th of oct 2019 the truck they rent me was showing 100 mi moor then my contract copy I ask them ..they change that i mean corect that on the contract paper then i came out and inspect the truck I found the horn get stucks in stearing wheel and stays on position ....When We complaint they finely change my truck ... At return time First they charge me$ 34.56 Then I walk with them back in the lot to chick the fuel level ...fuel level was way higher then they saying finely they adjust the charges from 34.56 to 8.64.... Also charge enviromental fee $2.00 Everywhere els $1.00

I dont like the sign in process whereby you MUST use a smartphone to upload your own drivers license photos to a website that they text to you while you are standing at the counter. With a whole office full of equipment, I think there must be a way to make it possible for the staff to add this photo. (For that matter, they could just verify the identity and drivers license numbers before they hand over the equipment. No other rental car company I have dealt with requests a copy a license to uploaded.) What happens if i dont have a smartphone, or if i have left it at home? Other than that, procedural thing, this was the best rental from that location in the last year.

Sydney Hutchinson was rude to us and she also misbooked our reservation for 10.30am instead of 10.30 pm. Its strange that she did that since we also discussed after hours returns for a while. With that being said we were in quite a situation cities away when U-haul called us because they thought we were not returning their pick up truck. We were also charged 237$ instead of the original price for 118$ which i thought was misleading. The staff at U-haul apparently need to learn how to listen better. Extremely dissappointed. Will definitely not be using u-haul again!

The service person was very unpleasant about the fact that I had not uploaded driver's license images (being unable to conveniently do so on my computer), as his equipment for taking pictures of it was not working. He suggested I rent somewhere else next time unless I upload the image myself. And yet: given the huge amount of stuff to enter to make a reservation, I would be booking my next rental on my computer again, not my phone, and still won't be easily able to upload a photo. So I guess I'll have to rent elsewhere, just to avoid that angry service person.

The staff were all excellent, especially Brian. They really took the time to help you find the moving vehicle that suited your needs. All the equipment was nice and new and clean. My only issues were that it is a little difficult to know where the interior light switch is, especially when it’s dark. If that could either be pointed out prior or marked better, would be nice. Also, the whole gas filling situation to 3/4 tank is a bit of an issue. I filled it once per the instructions, checked it and it was low, so back to the drawing board and added more gas checked it by turning on the engine and it was just below the line. Sod it! I went and paid anyways as I know I put double the gas the form called for! Drove off and guess what..... I was way past the 3/4 mark. It takes a while of driving to get a proper register. Other than that, I would recommend and probably will be using them again in the near future.

I wish to praise Sherry Grundstrom, the manager of U-Haul Waterloo, for her empathy in handling my move in. I was over my head in moving my boxes with the rental truck to the facility. It was backbreaking work doing it alone, the first time I had ever done such a move. I severely underestimated the time it would take and ended up unconscionably late in handing in the truck - several hours in fact. It was not lost on me that the penalties incurred from the late fees alone would amount to hundreds of dollars, dwarfing the original rental cost, which for a student represented a severe burden. I profusely apologized to Sherry, and explained my situation, and Sherry was very understanding and did the unexpected - completely canceling the late fees incurred! I was much relieved and grateful for Sherry's empathy. I recommend U-Haul to all my friends for moving and storage. Great people!
