My only issue is the initial rental process and return via U-Haul app. What appears to be an extremely easy (user-friendly)
process ............ I had multiple problems. Continuously received error messages, could not easily go from screen to screen,
many times ...........it just stopped and I had to start over. The process took well over an hour, both renting and returning.
I will say, there is a good chance a lot of the issue is my uneasiness and lack of knowledge ........tech wise. However, I was
not alone and several of the people with me (which actually are IT professionals) also experienced problems. As aggravating as this was ......... I am still giving (5) stars because the Manager (Samantha) was so very helpful and kind. Plus, the equipment was good and I accomplished what I needed with the rental.

I would challenge UHAUL cooperation that undoubtedly made a fortune in the last years to be different. I don't mind doing automated systems and self checkout but your system is horrible!!! I work with computers but the quiet quitting of employees along with a terrible program is unacceptable. I have rented UHAUL many times since 2019 and this was worst experience. I get the fact that everyone is dealing with fraud but as a 54 YO US Citizen I'm not bringing a passport to rent a truck. Be a leader in the industry and not a victim of poor government leadership

The staff and handling of services were excellent.
My concerns for security are that the door closest to my unit was never locked upon entering or leaving. Using my plastic key card on the swipe pad was unnecessary. Always had access without using it.
Also lighting was very poor inside the storage units, unless your unit was very near a light source.
Mine was not.
Other than that... I had a good experience. The office personnel was always wonderful!

Was told to return truck with half a tank of gas. After driving only about 29 miles, we went to gas station and tried to get tank to half a tank, but even after putting $25 of gas, the gauge wouldn't move from just under half a tank. We hadn't paid it any attention when we picked the truck up so we assumed it was the truck. The guy at the location was fine with it, but would have liked to know there was an issue ahead of time. Still gave the location an excellent and would recommend because it was our bad for not taking a look at the gauge when we picked it up to notice it wasn't moving.

Climate control was not kept within the limits expressed on site or online. When brought to the managers attention she was unaware of what climate control means and first started by telling me I was wrong about it being 100 degrees even with picture proof. There is no lighting in any of the units as they removed all lightbulbs and if the socket for your light bulb doesn't work the manager also said they will refuse to fix or replace it.

I checked the "NO" box for the staff rating because while the manager of this facility is amazing, the gentleman I interacted with this past Saturday, and once before, was far from amazing. He has no customer service skills. His demeanor was dismissive. He acted as though he had better things to do and I was interrupting his personal time. For example, during my check out, I asked if there was any kind of partial reimbursement given for the rent I pre-paid. He just laughed and didn't answer me. I asked if that meant "No" and he replied (barely) with "Yeah. Also, after the transaction, I asked if I could wait inside the office area until my husband returned to retrieve me. It was 97 degrees outside. Without looking at me, because he was already busy on his phone, he mumbled something and I said, "Excuse me". He basically grunted and sighed at me, sarcastically smiled, rolled his eyes and said, "Yeah". His reaction to me asking to use the bathroom and thanking him afterwards was essentially the same, and he was still on his phone. He does NOT need to be the first, last, or any, interaction people have with UHAUL. Samantha, the manager is wonderful. She is extremely helpful, and has an extremely positive attitude. She is truly an asset to this company. On the few occasions I have needed assistance, she was a pleasure to deal with.
Facility related, the only negative I have is the hallway where my unit (B-22) was located was not lit well at all. If the sun is not out, it is very dark and a flashlight is necessary. Using a hand-held flashlight or cell phone light while moving boxes, etc., is a bit inconvenient. I was pleased that for as long as I have had this unit, my things did not sustain any damage. I was also pleased with the convenience of the location and rental cost. I checked the YES box that I would recommend this facility to others, but with the caveat that they ONLY deal with Samantha. Unfortunately the asst manager lacks customer service skills. I was told by Uhaul to speak with the manager or asst manager about a discount since they sent me to a store that did not have what o rented when I arrived. Once I came to this location I was trying to explain to Sir and he told me to stop rambling on and there was nothing he could do. Once he started speaking over me I had had enough. Once we returned he attempted to make amends by saying he would let Aam the manager know what I had experienced but of course there was no discount applied or no call from the manager.

Will was extremely rude. When I walked in to return the vehicle he was on his phone and acted like I was bothering him by asking questions. I asked that he check whatever needed to be checked while I was there and he continued to type on his phone like I wasn't standing there. We get to the van and he barely leans in. I asked if everything was OK and he just threw up his thumb. The entire time he was still on his phone. I have never received such poor customer service from a business like I did from Will. I see why this business has a one star rating. Definitely will not recommend.

Personal visits were fine but 45-50 minute wait times on the phone make doing business with U-Haul very difficult. Twice after holding that long, I was hung up on! This has been a common problem during all my dealings with U-Haul. If I ever move again there had better be an available unit nearby.

The website is difficult to use and every time I call in, I'm the twelfth caller in the queue. I've been hung up on twice, no one returns my calls, referred to an office in South Carolina, even though we were looking for a place in Virginia, the list goes on and on. UHaul needs to step up it's game.

I have had my storage unit for a number of years and I have never had a problem. At the time of closing my unit I met with the manager she was extremely nice, very polite and concerned that all my needs were met,

Only problem I had was when someone parked the Uhaul truck in the lane I was in when I was leaving. When I explaining to the gentleman in the office he said I had to back up. Myself and my my mover had to drive backwards down the aisle in order to get out. When all he had to do was tell the person to move the Uhaul truck to allow for others to get out. But Overall it was great.

The facility and the staff were OK enough. The problem was with the lack of discretion with their billing reminder system. We had a death in the family soon after we packed the unit. I had not yet set up the auto pay and missed the first payment by a few days. Instead of sending me a friendly reminder, they mailed a very threatening past due letter by way of my neighbor whom I had assigned as our reference. I was terribly embarrassed and mailed a check immediately BUT before it arrived they sent the neighbor a SECOND letter onkly a week after the first letter, with NO comparable letter to me. I was now very ANGRY as well as doubly embarrassed at this very unnecessary move on U-Haul's part. I called the local office and complained and assured them I had just mailed a check. The lady showed NO empathy at all and flatly explained it's company policy. I called corporate and they said someone will be contacting me shortly. It's been five months and I'm still waiting. NEVER NEVER MISS A PAYMENT for U-Haul storage - not even by a few days!!! U-Haul really hates that and will immediately come after you and your reference person with threats.

The entire Uhaul experience was horrible from start to finish. I moved from Florida to Virginia, made a reservation online, then spoke to a rep on the phone to be sure everything was in line. I rented a truck and was offered a free month of storage with my rental so I accepted and requested that I return the truck at the same place as the unit, a 10 x 10 climate controlled unit. I stressed climate control and was assured that my unit was reserved. When I got here, the unit was a 10 x 15 NON climate controlled. The manager was very snooty and insisted that I had reserved it and no cc were available. I had to leave my stuff here for a few months as I was in an accident. I just spent $250 to move my things to a different storage facility because my things were filthy, water had gotten in and mildew was on some of my furnture. There were also tons of dead bugs in my things. I rented a truck from this location to move - arrived to find they had cancelled because I was not there at 8 am. I told the (again) very rude and condescending manager that I was not made aware that I had to be there at 8 and she was short, cut me off, insisted that her employee said that, lectured on and on. Absolutely zero customer service. Turns out there were other trucks available, she could have apologized for the misunderstanding and made for a positive experience. I would not recommend at all. There are plenty of other storage facilities around here. For the record, the other employee was very polite.

The only issue I encountered is when you close out your account you don't get part of your payment back. My payment $165.98 was due on the 24th of November and I closed the account on December 8th .
