Chad B. | Overall ExperienceWe waited in an empty store lobby for almost 30 minutes before we were helped. Employee saw us and said he'd be right with us before disappearing for 20+ minutes. Rental vehicle was given to us with less than 1/4 tank of gas, multiple emergency light was on in the vehicle, tire pressure was low in every tire, windshield wipers were completely useless, you could barely see out the windshield. I've used uhaul multiple times in the past and this was the worst customer service experience I've had in a long time, I will no longer be using uhaul for future needs.

Surely there is a better way to actually check these things (cameras, inventory count, etc) rather than calling and accusing a customer of stealing. The person who checked me in for my rental was great and that was the only positive thing about renting from Uhaul.

Bobby S.I rented a U-Haul from this location, pick up went fine but it all went down hill from that. We ended up needing it longer then expected but I had work early in the morning and I was not able to extend it while I was at work. The truck was due back at 3 and at 3:08 my phone was getting blown up by employees, I was unable to answer so they went to voicemail. When I got off work I extended the trip. However even though it was extended and it said so online they were still calling me. Well we ended up needing it a additional day and we extended it online and it took the money but at some point the transaction got reversed but my additional money was not refunded right away so we didn't know that it got reversed. Well the next day i got a threatening text message and 5 calls at 8:19 am back to back saying if I did not that the truck returned on their lot in the morning when they opened it was going to be reported stolen. So keep in mind renting from here if you are 5 minutes late prepare for texts, back to back calls, and threatening text messages for no reason. Also come Monday morning (the MORNING i got the threating text) the last payment that was reversed ended up being reversed again and fully processed. So for the whole rental we never went over out time but got constantly harassed. Highly recommend another store because this one is ridiculous

I continued to wait and finally went inside to do the return. It took several minutes to do the return and I asked if receipt would show the actual number of miles I drove. I was told yes but when I got the receipt it only showed the number of miles allotted. I told the lady at desk it didn't have the actual mileage and she made me wait until aft she waited on the next person in line. I appreciate the vehicle we rented but wasn't real pleased with the return staff.

The unit size I requested wasn't available, but the staff was/is highly resourceful, knowledgeable, excellent communicators, friendly/courteous, and professional. The building and grounds at every point I've seen are clean and appear to be well fortified. I'm happy with my choice.

Received less than great service based on these experiences.

My equipment location was moved 3 times, with this last time being 2 separate locations where I had to pick up the truck in Lafayette...travel to Crawfordsville for the auto transport....travel back to the original location to put my car on the transport and then move to my move location to meet the movers. Talk about adding stress to an already stressful day, terrible coordination on U-Hauls part and I will do everything in my power to never use U-Haul again.

Geanette D.It's really frustrating to be charged for going over in mileage when I drove to the locations I indicated to the representative I spoke to. I drove from the pick up (Ann Arbor) to the place I was moving from (Dexter) to the place I was moving to (East Lansing) and to the drop off place (Lansing). My only stop was for gas. If I informed the representative of this, I would assume the mileage would be sufficient to cover the distance I indicated.

Customer service was poor and employee looked to be having a bad day. Don't know why I typed this out nobody will read this let alone do anything about both locations.

Jill S.I would like to call out the customer service representative that was there Zachary. Polite, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, he was great. Renting a Uhaul is concerning - there's a legal contract, a lot of additional fees that you can't control, things that can go wrong, etc - and he was the one part I didn't have to worry about. This was actually the second trip we had to make and he was just as great the again as he worked out a couple issues. Also side note - the 20' truck was actually a lot nicer than the 27'. The ride on the 27 is pretty harsh, even fully loaded with furniture.
Terence C.Mobile app is clunky to use for check in and truck return. Actually faster to go to the counter for your needs with all the pictures that have to be taken of everything. Fortunately, someone was at the location because during mobile check in, the key to the truck was not in the lock box but inside the store. Defeats the purpose of convenience.
John M.Feb 3rd we had that giant snowstorm headed our way , we has to go to Charlotte Mi, we were trying to get some furniture delivered so we could go to Jackson Mi and pick up our new furniture. We had a 6×12 trailer reserved for 6pm my husband was there w and 1half hours early because he works near there, rather than driving home to Leslie and back he asked if we could get the trailer earlier. He was told yes if we wanted to pay full price for the 2 and1half hours. No one was using the trailer. It was just sitting there. Just for good customer service and considering the coming snowstorm he could have let us take it without charging for the whole day. So we had to pay for 2 days when we only needed 1, couldn't do anything because of the weather and the whole weekend was messed up. We won't be using u haul again anytime soon. Thanks uhail for taking our money.
Cora M.I was overcharged for my rental I drove 32 miles and I was charged for 86 my receipt states the beginning mileage was 8135 which is incorrect the vans odometer read 8189 before I began my drive from your south lansing location to eaton rapids mi and back I have a photograph of the odometer before i began my drive the van was returned at 8221 as stated in the receipt your company's records were incorrect and I've been charged because of it I don't think I will be renting from u haul again or recommending them to anybody
Chris S.I booked our trailer rental online to be picked up at a location in Mason, Michigan close to our home. We were contacted the day before the scheduled pick up that we had to go to Lansing - further from home. We were not offered a discount for having to travel, but were charged $20 for returning at a location different from where UHaul told us to return to. I'm not sure how the drop off location was chosen as it was 45 miles from our destination as opposed to 5 miles to where we actually did the drop off. I would like that $20 refunded.
Amy H.The damage to my belongings from the herd of mice running rampant was ridiculous. The items that were destroyed can not be replaced at least some of them can not be replaced . Consider that cost when deciding on a storage , they acted like it was no big deal when I told them about the problem.

One of the elevators was broken. Shutting down access after 10pm to the indoor facility did not match with my work hours and made access difficult. The operators at the generic/after hours number have no idea what they are doing. They could never help me.

I was never able to reach the store manager after multiple failed attempts. One of the representatives sent a text message to the managers personal phone while I was on the line with him marked urgent. I never heard from him and was never able to get a hold of him at all. And I lost all everything for $89.00 credit from selling it. It wasn't that I was delinquent in payment, I already knew this and when call I expected to hear that. But to tell me that I could still get my stuff and then not answer me back?
