U-Haul is poorly set-up with communication between its services such as storage, shipping, and U-box operations as a whole. Pricing online and contracting is horribly misaligned (I still request the $1000 I was improperly charged because of it). The General Mgr. Diane of the boundary road, Anchorage, AK location should be removed from her position for horrible customer service and disregard to reimburse me for U-Haul mistakes. I have already told people I know who wanted my feedback on U-Haul service to not use you, because of the many mistakes and failures to respond and address my issues. Many online reviews speak to these same issues and concerns.

I stopped 2x before arriving at my destination after picking up the truck. It wouldn't hardly go, I thought something was wrong with it, but thought it was just me too because I don't drive a big truck Luke that on a daily. With that being said, no one walks around the truck with you before getting into it. I don't Like that part. What if I have questions, I have to go back in? Over all, the experience was ok. I got moved what I needed to and was safe. The lady that helped me was GREAT!! Everyone at that location was WONDERFUL!! Thank you 😃

Robert put the hitch on my car, and the service was excellent. He drove me to my location and picked me up, so I would not have to wait at U-Haul while he did the work. he was very prompt in completing the work and called me right away when it was done. He also showed me several different bike, racks, and locks that I could possibly buy in the future. The only thing I could recommend for improvement is when I called there it went to another line and that took a while, but it wasn’t bad, and they were very efficient. I really can’t think of anything that needs improvement. I had a good experience with U-Haul.

Give people the direct number to the UBox people who run it and not to the store. I had to constantly call one number and be transferred two or three times and then I had to wait on a phone call back that I might not get. The manager at the store was very nice and went above and beyond to help me. But the ladies who ran the Ubox side were hardly ever in the office. Also it was hard for them to find my Ubox everytime I called about it when I had all the information. It’s like it just disappeared on the system.

I was over charged and feel as if you can't get me one amount that I owe. I've paid over $300 and have been told 4 different amounts of money that I owe still. How is that possible. U-Haul should give me my money back and apologize for the overcharged receipts I keep getting. Also talked with customer service and still no one has fixed or helped me in any way. NOT HAPPY!

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with customer service. First, I arrived to the previously reserved location only to be told they did not have the trailer I had reserved because I was at the wrong location. I verified I was at the correct location per my reservation and showed the confirmation email to the attendant. I was told I was wrong though it was clearly documented. They said the reservation must have been changed on the back end since they did not have it in stock, but I was never notified of the change. I asked if they had a similar trailer for rent and was initially told no. The attendant told me I should call customer service and see what they recommended. I asked to speak to a supervisor who informed me that there was a similar trailer and I had been misinformed. They finally contacted the other facility and had my reservation transferred. While waiting, the attendants were very rude and disrespectful to each other. After 1 hour, we were directed to the substituted trailer only to find it was parked at a steep incline and could not be lowered enough for our hitch. The attendant threw up her hands and said she didn’t know what we wanted her to do about it. We had to ask them to get a truck to move the trailer to a more appropriate location. The workers yelled at each other the entire time they were trying to hook up the trailer and once it was connected, the “supervisor” sped recklessly through the parking lot, scraping the trailer on the side of the road and I actually had to run out of her way. We tried to change our hitch to the appropriate size and were told it wasn’t necessary. She was wrong and had to be corrected by the “hitch guy,” who was the only saving grace for the entire place. It took us 2 hours and a LOT of direction from us to get our rental. I will drive to a different state to get a rental before I ever go back there.

I reserved a furniture dolly that was very important for our heavy items we were moving. When I arrived at the location the lady working told me that they didn’t have one. She was very rude from the moment I arrived and very unprofessional. She even screamed at the top of her lungs for one of the guys who worked there to get him to come take something to the truck and wanted me to load the truck myself with the 3 dozen furniture pads. I was happy with the service from the man that checked me in when I returned.

First off, let me say that the staff was friendly, but you could definitely tell they didn’t want to be there. I felt like I was constantly inconveniencing them because I had a question about my self-checkin. Second, they didn’t have the dollies that I rented and no one told me!! I found out myself when I did the bed check before leaving! They put me with a truck that didn’t have a dolly knowing I rented them! When I asked why would the system let me book 2 dollies if you had none, the employee informed me that, “U-Haul doesn’t know our inventory.” Like I said at first, everyone was friendly, but I always feel like I have to do a lot more work to rent a truck with U-Haul. This will be my last time unfortunately. I’ll look elsewhere from now on. Thank you

The location on 365 eastern blvd was great! They took care of me the whole way. My problem was with my original location I had scheduled at coopers lane in Jeffersonville. When I got to that location I could not get the trailer I reserved because no one was there on a Tuesday at 11:30am and no one answered the phone from myself or from uhaul when the customer rep tried. The customer rep sent me to eastern blvd and those guys took care of me.

The sun visors had tape on them to hold them up. This means they could have fallen while I was driving. Luckily they did not. Also, the cabin smelled like smoke. Other than that, I always use this location. Very reliable.

It appears that the people in charge of U-Haul have caused or allowed their standards to slip. Since 1968 I've repeatedly used U-Haul vehicles. However, my latest move was by far the least satisfactory one. Before I picked up my truck, online I ordered and paid for several items, including two large wardrobe boxes. Your man in New Albany, Indiana, tried to slide grand wardrobe boxes past me. When I caught that mistake, he admitted that he did not have any large ones. Later, when I agreed to tow (redistribute) a trailer for the convenience of U-Haul, when I picked up the trailer, the same man, without asking me, slid past me a charge for Safetow insurance. I did not notice that until later. Your hired helpers in both New Albany (loaders) and Orange City (unloaders) were the least well trained and least well qualified whom I've ever encountered. Likely they try to do well, but they missed the mark by a large margin. They caused or allowed several instances of minor damage. None of that is worth my filing a claim and putting up with the frustration of dealing with that. Much of it my wife and I can correct the damage -- and we've begun doing so -- but that requires our time, trouble, expense, and bother. That's what we get when your outside contractors hire their workers off the streets and sidewalks.

I was originally supposed to have my hitch installed on Saturday at 7:00 a.m. after arriving switching everything over to my other car I was told that neither the manager nor the installer looked at the schedule so they both took off so I had to reschedule for Monday at 7:00 I was told that the install should only be about 4 hours I left the car there Sunday night I did not receive any communication from U-Haul I had to continuously call to get updates and my car was not completed until 6:00 p.m.. the manager ty was completely unhelpful and acted like he did not want to speak with me and tried to make it out like it was my fault for scheduling on a Saturday my family has used U-Haul for years and this has been the worst customer service I have ever seen I will never come back to this location.

The truck smelled like smoke, the tire air pressure light was on the whole time so couldn’t see the miles unless you turned off the truck and only for a split second. The app check in took forever and had to retake quite a few pictures and I still had to walk into office to get keys.

Mice droppings were found in all of my belongings. My clothes, books, etc are ruined. This is totally unacceptable. I was told by someone at the U-Haul storage place that this is a known issue at least since November 2022 and I only had my items in storage from July 1-July 22, 2023 so for my belongings to be ruined by mice droppings means that the mice infestation is totally uncontrolled. I have called corporate and hopefully they will do something about this. I really feel there should be a sign or some type of notice prior to renting storage space with a known mice infestation problem. I thank you for being honest after the fact but that doesn't help the fact that my stuff is ruined and that I have to file a claim to get this problem resolved.

The experience itself was great - friendly, helpful people, etc. The problem was the unit itself. The mice infestation was horrible! They ate through boxes and plastic containers. When I got the stuff to my new apartment, not only was everything thoroughly covered in mouse droppings, I had live mice jumping out, dead mice in my clothes, blankets, etc. They even got into my dog's bed. It was absolutely horrible! I left all of the mouse poop on the floor of the unit so that you could see just how bad it is. Once you get that taken care of it will be a nice place for storage.

I moved in March of 2022 and moved out December of 2022. This facility has a problem with mice. I lost several nice pieces of furniture due to mice chewing through a mattress and couch cushions to find a warm home when things got cold. I was told that this was not the facilities problem. They do have traps in the units but I was never informed that they wanted to check the traps to be emptied or replace the bait in the ten months I was renting. I like U-Haul over other competitors and will probably use them again but will have to spend more money for an indoor climate controlled unit. Maybe that will help. Overall good experience, staff is friendly and I felt safe leaving my belongings in the location I was in without fear of break-ins or theft.

I think the units should have lights or the areas should have more lighting to be able to see inside of the unit at night. I also feel like if you pay for a month and move out before the month is over, you should be reimbursed for the days after the you moved out.

The customer service was non existing. I spoke to the lady checking in trucks and she blantedly ignored me for about a minute until I said “Hello, ma’am I asked you a question. She was literally in her phone and my face and did not care. Upon having to consult with her inside I said Hello how are you today. No response. So I spoke up and told her that I had just spoken to her and that she should have replied back. Honestly she was at work and should have spoke to me first. Her excuse was that she was tired because she got up 5 minutes before she was supposed to be at work. I politely schooled her on how to exhibit good communication and customer service skills regardless of what goes on at home. I’m a customer service manager so everything I experienced was a no go.

This has been by far my worst experience with Uhaul. I will NEVER use Uhaul again. They charged me for another months rent upon checking out WITHOUT authorization to use my card. I will be taking this up with my bank and Uhaul. This was the tip of the iceberg for my complaints with the facility.

James the manager at the Clarksville office is absolutely wonderful, he was nice,friendly and very helpful, I really appreciate everything he done for me and my family,very polite and friendly, great customer service from James,I would be happy to refer someone to James to do business, thank you James for being so nice and helpful and easy to talk too!!@

Only problem that I had was there was a rat inside the storage unit and had chewed through some things.. and rat droppings was everywhere. For thos reason I would not recommend.

Our storage building was broken into and no one from the facility contacted us to tell us. We went by one night to get something out of storage and found out our lock had been changed. It was after office hours so we had to come back the next day to find out why and to get in. That’s when they told us they had some break-ins. They acted like it was no big deal and when we questioned them on why they didn’t contact us they didn’t say anything. Several things were stolen from our building. And if we filed a police report I’m sure we would never see these things again because we have no idea how long ago this happened because no one from the facility contacted us. We are very disappointed in our experience.

Moving into and out of the storage room, there were other rooms where garbage and other items were left out in the aisles. If this had been picked up on a regular basis, I would have given the facility a higher rating.

Unit was pretty dirty when I got it, Some of your staff in Clarksville, Indiana really need attitude adjustments. I needed a truck from that facility 2 different times and could not get one and the attitude I got was ridiculous I had to get a truck from Penske to unload my U-haul storage unit.

I had mice in my storage unit which got into all my storage boxes. I’ve had to disinfect and clean a huge number of boxes that had priceless items stored within them. This infestation occurred early on and there was obviously a large number of mice. I mentioned the mice to the staff.l, but all they said is they would set traps outside the unit and that was it. The price for my unit was rather high for storage. I missed one payment on time one time and paid it within days of missing. They sent me at least 5 letters in the mail about the same issue. One late notice should suffice or in the 21st century, a text would be more sensible.

I am amazed to be asked to rate my experience, both because the location is aware of the disastrous outcome of my stay and the total indifference to the situation exhibited at the time. The unit I rented, 264, was broken into and items taken. The replacement value of the stolen items, $450-500, far exceeds the difference I would have paid at a more reliable storage facility. No effort was made to inform me of the theft, nor any offer made to review the video record that is supposedly kept. When I discovered the break-in the staff acknowledged it but could not tell me exactly when it occurred, despite ubiquitous signage about "24-hour monitoring" and "no access without authorization". I don't expect any response or further action, given the lack of response when the theft was relatively fresh, but I will certainly not recommend or endorse this location.

I never interacted with staff with COVID-19 sickness in the US. My storage units door was so horrible I always had to have someone with me to raise the door up. It really needs to be repaired.

Had over $13,000 worth of sneakers stolen from my unit. My lock wasn’t tampered with. The walls in the unit don’t even come up all the way to the ceiling, so people can go over the wall from unit to unit without even having to enter through the front. Absolutely ridiculous. I WILL NOT EVER recommend this location to anyone.

Several times during my rental interval, the gate was broken on the open position. Durinq the business day, the gate was left open. The unit had debris on the floor when I moved in and more debris, a mud dauber’s nest, and numerous spider webs as the doors Were not wind proof, and the latching often stuck. My rent increased once in that interval with No improvements visible.

I had items stolen out of my storage unit. I went to tell the people in the office and they told me it has been happening lately and all I can do is call the police to file a police report. No customer service at all, not an I'm sorry that happened or anything. Every time, I went to my storage unit there was always trash just laying outside of it for weeks. I am aware that they didn't know it was going to happen but of course, all of the cameras were facing the other way. I am very disappointed and will never use UHaul again.
