There was a pretty long delay in getting the hitch installed and I waited over 4 hours for it to get done. Additionally, my bumper was unfortunately damaged during the installation. However the manager was very responsive and accommodating and the entire staff was courteous from my very first inquiry about getting the hitch installed and throughout the installation. I have made a claim with your insurance company so I can’t comment on how well the issue of the damage will be addressed.

The automated drop off process has bugs in the app. It was dark and raining when I dropped off trailer and I was not able to take a picture in the app. There needs to be a way to send on-site photos and link them to the return so there are no problems following the drop off.

Car did not fit on trailer even though U-Haul said it would. When I went to return trailer, rep said I should have been told it would be close clearance but was never told that nor did I think that because U-Haul said guaranteed to fit.

The truck got 7 mpg. It had a transmission problem. It wouldn’t shift easily from first gear, causing the engine to over-rev and consume way too much gas. I think you should make known to your customers that your trucks are very uneconomical and they should expect really poor gas mileage. It would help better estimate the cost of gas added to the rental. This truck was beat up really bad, with over 137,000 miles.

The trailer rental was easy peasy and went smoothly. I also secured through UHaul a moving company that cancelled that morning. We scrambled and, at the last minute, found some strong young relatives to help. If we had not found someone to do the heavy work, we would have had to cancel the trailer rental. On the car Dolly's and car trailers the This tie down ratchet needs to be lubricated. The one I had was rusty and hard to use. Other than that everything was great.

You do not have a merit system in place to recognize long time customers l have been a long time customer of Uhaul for over 25 years l could have bought plenty of my own trucks by now with the money l have given you guys not to mention all my friends and family l send to uhaul as l feel people like myself shouldn't be treated the way I was a few months ago while l was out of town it was the most inconvenient and embarrassing moment l have to endure ever and give my long history with this company that situation shouldn't have never happened simply because I missed a call from uhaul l was placed on E alert with my outstanding history with uhaul l owed No money on the equipment l had and was in constant cumunication with the location regarding the equipment it was an aggravated experience I will not forget ever by a company l used to have alot of respect for.

Really great location. The customer service is excellent and very accommodating. I was running late due to a huge snowstorm I drove through, and the staff accommodated me in the interest of safety despite being a couple hours late. I'll definitely rent from this location again.

Your facility is awesome and I appreciate the understanding when a valued customer gets into financial hardship especially with the pandemic Covid 19 my employment has been hit hard I work for ford motor company Chicago assembly plant and we have been hit hard with layoffs due to part shortages stemming from the pandemic actually 2021 was harder than 2020 and your facility has been extremely understanding! I just want to say how helpful and friendly the staff are at the Schererville location. I highly recommend this place. Units are clean, trucks run great and the prices are good too!

My unit was not available and double booked. It's impossible to talk to anyone at this location as the phone numbers provided go to central office. Staff are not quick, nor really knowledgable. Takes forever to look into things. They do not give prorated rent back if you move out shortly after month end, but they do start process of renting it back out on your dime. Renting a trailor was straight forward. Better ordeal.

We have a major problem. First of all your manager is a liar. And then refused my attempts to get a hold of her. Thats your problem not mine. My problem is she restricted my entry into my unit until her staff of THREE came out to take the second lock off. Only to find a 3 ft square of wood shavings that got wet were leaking. I never signed a contract giving you permission to lock me out of my storage unit. Under any circumstances. Period. So here we are now, in fact ill be scorned from my attorney if she finds out I am taking to you about this pressing issue.

I usually paid for my storage unit in person, or over the phone, either way any time I called or went in directly, the staff was always professional and polite, for example I bought a house, and my husband went over to our unit to remove what was left there, however I could not find the card to access getting in, I called & the staff was very quick to help my husband when he was there, the staff promptly took care of what he needed, which was helpful because several of our friends were helping to remove everything from that storage. I can only wish that other companies and retail stores had staff’s as amazing as u-haul, if I need storage in the future, it will only be u-haul. Thank you for the superb help in anything I may have asked or purchased, to make my experience every time I called or went to u-haul in person. I would recommend any of my friends or family to use u-haul, there are a lot of storage places, however if you want everything to go as easy as possible, U-haul is the perfect place to handle your storage needs, and their staff is nothing less than courteous and professional. I put my experience as average because it wasn’t excellent but it got the job done. I scheduled this storage unit over the phone on May 9 and confirmed with Christina one week before loading in. Unfortunately, upon arrival we were told our space was not available and had been “given away” prior to our arrival. I felt startled and upset, as hours before U-Haul trucking called me to ask if I could move my moving day to later in the week as they did not have my requested truck (made and confirmed same days as storage unit) to then called me back 10 minutes later to say they would have my vehicle. This call woke me before my alarm and concerned me, but as the job got done, we met our mover helpers and put everything in the vehicle. We drove from an hour away to use this storage unit for one to two months. After 5-10 minutes of the worker being in the phone with a superior, I was told I could be given a size up from what I ordered originally, if I was willing to pay more money (after a 20% discount) than I was originally quoted and confirmed for the week before with Christina. I asked to speak to that superior when they arrived, which was explained as 15 minutes away. We got the storage unit assignment and were taken to the unit. A superior met us out there to reiterate the offer of 20% off with the price hike as well as that our original storage unit would have been more expensive than I was quoted. When I asked about my original price, they said “prices go up $5 once a year so prices are higher than you were quoted.” This concerned me as I was so recently quoted the 149.95 and left me feeling confused and questioning if I was being taken advantage of. It wasn’t until we had to reiterate that we had scheduled and confirmed the space and wanted the same charge we were quoted for and that the only reason we went to another unit was because of their mistake that we were guaranteed our originally quoted price. My preference would be that this sort of situation does not happen to anyone else by more clearly communicating what unit will be taken up by whichever reservations are made in real time. I would have rather not had the experience I had, which was not good, and definitely not excellent. I would rather have an excellent experience and know that this experience could have been avoided but was not due to disorganization, poor communication, or flawed company policy. Rats from this storage area ate my Fulton sofas x 2 and other materials in my storage— I didn’t have rats in my belongings before just in case anyone wants to know — I even found a died one on the floor in the storage area. I lost a lot of my storage and had to throw it out because of the infestation. Staff did not disclose that mice/ rats was even a risk at that facility.

The staff (female) went above and beyond to help us with reserving the unit over the phone. Once we arrived to finalize the rental, we were helped right away by friendly staff and they even gave us a lock for free. Although that seems insignificant, it really made a stressful day a little less so.
