Staff was so friendly and kind. I expected a bad experience, as this is the exact kind of activity that is often a tremendous hassle. However, the staff were so warm and welcoming and the move in/check in process was seamless.

Everything else went smoothly and again, the people working at this location really saved the day.

David W.One day the check-in terminals were down. I tried getting in touch with the manager that evening and never heard back. The terminals were down earlier in the day, and the facility didn’t bother keeping someone at the front desk until self-storage hours were over, or even put a sign up letting customers know that they wouldn’t be able to access the storage facility after office hours that day. I had rented a trailer to move things into my unit that day, and ended up having to extend the rental. I am out $50 as a result. I have another unit at this facility, but plan to pull my stuff out and move to a facility with better hours and a more responsive staff.

Deborah R.Good morning, what I will say is that the entire experience with the folks that I dealt with was exceptional. However, they in both locations to return to pick up and the return, the single individuals were very, very busy so I would think that you need to look at having enough staff because in the first Location at the pick app weighted approximately half an hour to get serviced because a person had to Go to the Roof and Then it were 3 other customers in front of me Waiting For Her to get back. So yeah, it's a little tough. But the experience with post representatives was good. So thank you very much, have a wonderful day.

There was a young woman and a young gentleman at the front desk and they couldn't have been any friendly or more helpful the fact that it was pouring buckets out that day and we unloaded the truck it became easier when the gentleman told us we could it was our vehicle inside the garage or the covered doors so we said a little less wet and more dry the storage unit was a good size held all our things overall it was a great experience and I will keep using you hot in the future other than that give it five stars you know people if it ain't broke don't fix it and don't give up on the good thing see you in the future U-Haul you should be called I hall though cuz I only have crippled from home around my stuff the past 60 years

Very upsetting

Cristian O.The woman who "helped" us was horrible. When we arrived she was no where to be found and then came in talking on the phone (was definitely a personal call). She had a very bad attitude and difficult to work with. When I told her that I didn't like how she was speaking to me she told me that if I didn't like it, I could take my business "down the street". After a long and unpleasant process we finally got our trailer which was in poor condition but functional. In was dented all around, had trash in it and chunks of cement.

There is a huge pillar in the middle of this already tiny unit that takes up space then on top of that extreme excessive mold is all in the unit which makes us sick every time we've had to go in the unit. The fact that they would lease a mold infested unit is bad because that's harmful . Then unexplained fees are charged.

They did however lock my unit and I had to commute from out of state twice to get it resolved because the code was recorded incorrectly. Thought that would have allowed me an extra 11 hours to move my stuff out on the day my bill was due but never received any communication despite voicemails, an email and an office visit. Which left us a bit frustrated. The space is clean and gets the job done but communication is pretty terrible and one elevator always seems to be down.
Shane D. | Overall ExperienceI had to trader my items to this facility due to two different reasonings.One at the last location one one my units gotten broken into many items of mine were stolen(bose speaker, harmon speaker,pots&pans,alexas,business the list continues.I filed a report with the police and staff.I than transferred my items to the new unit.Prior to me doing that the last unit had Crew members and had water damage to specific units.So a lot of my items were damaged.Nothing was recovered staff gaslite me to believing they were helping me but nothing came from it.Im so happy to finally move my belongings out.I would never use them again.

There was this very friendly lady in the service area that help with explaining to me which way to go and where to use the codes to access unit.
Thomas R S. | Online Move InWas not clear that I couldn't get into building/unit after 10 PM. I had my last load on the cart and was already in the building, but it must've just turned 10:00 and the elevator would no longer work. I had a few items sitting outside my unit and my unit was not locked, but there was no way for me to get to it. They do not have stairs in the building, which must be illegal since any building with elevators must also provide stairs in case of fire (contacting the city about that). I had to put the stuff from my last load back into the van, then into my car trunk, then haul it back up to my apartment. While "stuck" in the building after 10 PM, the person I was speaking to on the phone said she sent the location's GM an email asking her to lock my unit for me since I had to go out of town immediately after returning the van that night. I asked to be contacted to verify this happened, but I still don't know if my unit is locked or not since I never heard from anyone. There was broken glass on the first floor and dirt/woodchips on the second floor (where my unit was). Floors are not smooth so it made using the carts more difficult than what it should have been.

The loading dock was conveniently located and the temperature controlled units were exactly what I needed. The convenience of paying online each month was really helpful. I will be using this facility again.

Most specific comments of items needing attention are those primarily involving fellow customers and the need for professional services, beyond the staff. Cart availability was an issue. There were numerous times when upon arrival for a segment of my move(s) - there were no carts to use [three storage units filled and vacated within two month period, over numerous segments]. When a truck is rented and a crew is hired and on hand, that complicates and increases the cost and stress of moving significantly. Solution may include more carts (with tracking chip???), especially given the number of units housed at this location; and, reinforcement of the cart honor system through signage at each floor's elevators to take only carts actively in use use (no storage between trips), return carts to cart parking upon each storage departure (not abandoned on unit floor), and programmed panel reminders with each card swipe (check-in, each elevator swipe, check-out). #1 - Storage facility well-lit: All well-lit though designers/architects/electricians would have done well to include some motion-censored level of lighting per unit. #5 - Facility clean and well maintained: Plumber needed for bathroom toilets. Always clogged. Too low flow for 'public' use. 5th FLR, where my units were, has concrete deterioration in patches along the walkway making for sections of gravel path which the carts are hard to roll over. Best to staff and manager - they're great!

And we called from the elevator but the one employee was very Busy and could not answer, so we waited at home while we waited and waited and we waited. I’m a little concerned that this will happen every time I get there because it turned what should’ve been 45 minutes into a 2 1/2 hours

Chloe T. | First ImpressionsA day prior to moving out of my storage unit, I spoke with the location’s UHAUL customer representative about an after-hours (post 10:00pm) move ahead of a trip across country. The UHAUL rep assured me that an after-hours move/check-out was possible and, as is standard operating procedure, that the only thing needed to access the facility is my storage keycard. Furthermore, the rep noted that in the event of any issues, UHAUL has a designated after-hours General Manager on duty to assist. Feeling good about the procedures in place, I proceeded with the move, starting the move-out process at 9:40pm. Well, about 1/4 of the way through, as we took the first load downstairs and exited the elevator, access was cut off promptly at 10:00pm - meaning, I could not come back up the elevator to grab the rest of my belongings or at the very least close the wide-open storage unit. To contextualize, I have PAID movers who are carrying my belongings from storage unit to truck outside before heading off for the night to a destination across country. But wait, this should not be problem because according to numerous signs inside the storage building and the customer representative whom I spoke with earlier, there’s an “after-hours” manager on call to resolve any issues! Unfortunately that was not the case. After about a dozen phone calls, several texts, and voicemails left to the said after-hours GM, Alicia Hicks, I and the movers had to give up and, quite literally, leave my storage unit open with personal belongings fully exposed. What’s worse is that I had to hire additional movers to come in the following day to pick up the rest of my belongings. Again, because this was a trip across country, this fiasco caused by AFTER-HOURS GM refusing to answer her phone cost me over $1000 in costs. Not only unprofessional but absolutely unacceptable. As a side note, when we initially entered the storage unit, alarms were blaring yet no security or UHAUL manager was on site. UHAUL is negligent and absolutely careless - needless to say, I will never rent trucks or storage units at UHAUL again.

The vehicle was filthy and smelled horribly of cheap cleansing product “ Fabulouso” which does not disinfect. It took your breath away. When you left the vehicle your clothes smelled like it for hours which you needed a shower right away. Lastly upon returning the vehicle there wasn’t anyone in the building to check you out. I waited over 20 minutes for someone to appear.

She promptly got me up to my unit, reminded me of all the necessary access information, and was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this location to a friend.

Being an elderly person she made sure I was able to get a unit that I did not have to go far for. I really appreciate her patience and professionalism. She is what your other staff should be like.

I asked if I would get a pro rata credit for the 28 days I was told no because I received the first month free when I initiated my storage rental. I feel like the first month free was like a bonus for me renting at U-Haul not a disadvantage. I should of gotten a 28 day credit.

maria n. | First ImpressionsIn general, this location met our storage needs. The location manager, Alicia Hicks, was friendly when I was able to make contact with her, but this was rare. Originally, she extended a monthly discount to us to price match a quote given to us for our size unit by a different Uhaul facility. After a little over a year, that discount was removed by senior mgmt without notification to us. I filed a claim with customer service and Alicia told me that she'd follow-up with senior mgmt to look into whether something could be done. After we (and seemingly Alicia) were given the run-around for almost a month, and after submitting multiple follow-up claims requesting a callback for an update, we eventually decided to take our business elsewhere due to the lack of communication and feeling like it just wasn't worth the hassle. On the day we decided to move out, the garage door at the facility was not working, which prevented us from being able to park close to the elevators and made the move-out process more difficult than it needed to be. Although it seemed like Alicia was doing her best to move the process forward, we would've appreciated better communication from either this location's staff and/or the customer service team that handled the claim intake. Had someone from senior mgmt reached out to us, we would've considered maintaining our storage unit.

I showed up the day before I planned to move all my stuff into storage and they said there were no units available! That the website was allowing people to make reservations even though they hadn't any available for months? The staff at 13th Street found a unit at 8 E Oregon. Other than that, they were close to useless. Very dismissive, like it's not their problem. Ok, it's not their fault that U-Haul's website is busted, but why did no one call me ahead of time??? Can you imagine showing up with movers and a truck full of stuff, only to find out you have no unit? That's inexcusable.
