Thank you fo helping my daughter and I. Very nice staff who’s knowledgeable about the process of getting a storage and U-Haul( then thou that’s not what I got); however, I listened to and payed attention to how they greeted and spoke to other customers. The facility is very well kept and I feel safe while placing my items in storage even in the late evening. I love that there is an alarm on the building where my items are stored also. Once again thank you.

I was afraid I would have a musty odor in the items and was concerned of pest as well. However, I’m so grateful I didn’t have to deal with any of those issues. The climate control storage is the way to go. It’s a bit pricey, but worth every penny.

The other guy that was there when I came back talked so low I could barely hear him. Customer service goes a long way in both directions. My advice from managing employees is this: don't apply for jobs you don't want to do. That way you don't have to bring a poor attitude to work or diminish the experience for others.

Paula Owens | First ImpressionsMy Storage was broken into and a TV and Computer was stolen but only reimbursement me for TV and the Manager was very rude about it and they would lock your card before the 14days on the letter when running a little behind on your bill so when I finally get my things out the storage I received a call stating I left some nice furniture because we didn't have room on truck for it so i saw other furniture there as well so im thinking salvation Army or some 1 may need a very nice bed frame and headboard and nice table in hall area where I saw other furniture as well so Erica stated she would not close my storage out until I picked it up of course I have no truck at this time and I'm thinking They can see me on camera leaving furniture but could not see My Unit getting broken into ,Yes have had a horrible experience with UHaul

(I have pictures) The storage isn’t enclosed and several of my items dusty and full of beetles, roaches, etc. The donation center does not stipulate what is to be donated. Called me and tried to charge me $300 for leaving a refrigerator. The staff is very rude and acts as if I am a worthless customer after being a customer for over 2 years. No matter what I hope and pray to never be another customer. The manager isn’t accommodating and really should not be running any location.

helen batchelor | Overall ExperienceThe staff here is amazing. The facility is well maintained. Every time I came either the floors were getting cleaned or the building was getting cleaned. It is well lit and I felt safe each time I came. On occasions when I had to go to office for minor little questions I always got service with a smile, there were always professional. I know staff goof off, joke around and blow customers off. But you wouldn’t know it from these guys. As soon as that door open whatever they had going on they made sure the customers had their full attention. How ever y’all train stuff for excellent customer service y’all need to share with other places cause these folks act like they don’t even want to be at work. Even if I came with a slight attitude about something else those smile make me forget and start cracking jokes with them. I gained a young boyfriend(at least that’s what I would call him every time I saw him 😂) a niece(who was always on point with my questions and helping me.) some nephews and a sister (that made sure I got the storage units and size I needed) all with a good sense of humor cause some days I’ll come with bags of jokes😉 Keep up the good work guys.

Your staff should be able to figure out how to open units when latches are tight and not call the customer to "come open the door" or be charged. Raleigh location has the most arrogant, rude staff...they make small things such a big production and don't allow customers to finish speaking before rudely assuming the out come of the statement. Glad to be done with storage.

However other than that I definitely will refer friends and family to Uhaul because your rates are cheaper than your one of your competitor's. That's the reason I left. I had been renting a space from them for over ten years and there rates have doubled! Thanks Uhaul for not over pricing your Customers!!!

Cassandra Rreed | First ImpressionsI had my 77-year-old handicapped mother with me and I by myself was loading a 15 ft truck with a car hauler on back and went to use the office bathroom which I did, I then sent my 77 year old mother in to use the bathroom and they told her that the bathroom was out of order. I then had to take her back inside with me to use the restroom. They also only had mattress carts and when I asked them about flat carts they told me they were in the facility somewhere and was no help, and offered no assistance on finding one. Their attitudes were disgusting.

She vandalized my unit 1140 after I was only employed 2 weeks at the location and I've always had a storage since 2019. Elizabeth Simpson don't care about nothing that goes on at her location. I told her specifically she is a nasty horrible rude manager.

I was double charged for my unit, which I brought to the attention of the office staff the next day, I am not sure if the lady that helped me was new or just unconcerned but the issue is still unresolved. The main storage door was propped open so that anyone could walk in, there was not a lock in the unit, as I was told so I had to purchase my own lock for the storage unit, and there were bugs in the unit. Move in was not what I expected, disappointing.

It appears that my credit card was charged twice, above rental of the rental van I mentioned the duplicate charge to the young lady at the desk who seemed preoccupied and unconcerned. I was also told a lock would be in the rental storage area, it was not. I paid for it with the clerk and was given a receipt, but the system didn't recognize my name when I attempted to access the unit a day or so later. Then, after being green-lighted to use the storage unit I paid for, I came with a moving team and a lock had been placed on the unit. It was after hours so no one was available inside to help me. I called the phone number and someone told me they were texting management to make them aware. It was a colossal waste of time and resources because its hard to get help to move and it was a HUGE inconvenience.

A few times during business hours the doors we’re locked at every entrance. Floors are broken up with missing tiles causing a tripping hazard, trash always in front of doors. Trash heavy in parking lots and trash in the greenery by the wrecked & broke. Down U-Haul trucks. This location could use some attention. Didn’t feel safe when I was inside cause doors would not close and the next person entering may not be attentive like me and close the door like I had to do while I was loading or unloading. And with U-Haul as a company they don’t care how loyal you’ve been they don’t offer rewards or discounts to loyal customers. Had a storage for over 3 years and couldn’t get treated like that. Reserve trucks and auto transport they don’t show compassion you can reserve equipment and they not have it then they act as if you’re an inconvenience to them then after all the trouble of getting one you’d think they’d work with customer I was having truck trouble after I had to drive further to get an auto transport. I wanted to leave it in the town I took my car to. They said it’ll be a wrong destination charge. Never mind U-Haul didn’t have my reservation at the time and location that was confirmed then they wouldn’t wave the fee for leaving it at another U-Haul facility which they would of done had I checked one way. Meaning it wasn’t impossible it was very possible. Next time I get a storage and I will need one for my business I’ll pass on U-Haul. Until I see change this is not the company I feel comfortable giving my money to and please train employees on how to talk to customers. Just standing in line I see the interactions. Employees getting mad cause they change policy last minute didn’t apologize didn’t show empathy nothing but Attitude. Sounds like as long as money is being made U-Haul don’t care what’s inbetween to get it.

By the time I was done loading my truck up to bring some stuff over, the office hours were closed, so it was late. I got to my unit and it had the former renter's lock still on it AND one of the foreclosure locks on it as well. I called customer service who reached out to the local manager. The local manager didn't answer so she left him a message. She also sent him an email and told me I would get a follow up. I got 0 follow up. I had to leave town the following morning and would not have time to stop by, so I assumed they would get it handled. Then I got a bill for another month. I went ahead and paid it knowing I would be back In a few days ago I could handle it then. I got in this last Sunday and was able to go by on Monday after work. The previous renter's lock was STILL there, the foreclosure lock was STILL there. So you had a month and a half to fix my access issue and NEVER did. The lady at the desk was nice when I went in though and she got my refund taken care of... she's cool at least.

I came back on Fri 1/14 and the access card did not work. My daughter went to inquire and was told the account was closed out that morning. I just paid for the unit only 1 week ago so there was no reason the account should have been closed. I received this email about a move out even though I have only just got the unit.
susan stamps | Overall ExperienceThe saving grace for this location is Derrick Williamson. I spoke to him on Wednesday 1/5 and reserved an 8x10x10 unit for Friday 1/7. When I arrive I am told that there is no 8x10x10 unit available. I was offered a 5x10 or 10x10 even though I had a reservation. I asked if U-haul would honor the reservation price of $79 for a 10x10, but I was told no. I was upset, but Derrick Williamson was amazing. He worked hard to try and find an 8x10 unit and has extremely kind and helpful. Ultimately I have a 10x10 unit for $99 a month which is $20 more than I budgeted to pay. However when given a bitter pill to swallow, kind, helpful employees like Derrick Williamson make it easier. I would only recommend this facility to a friend because of Derrick Williamson. Otherwise my answer to that question would have been no.

Nathan Gathright | Overall ExperienceStaff was meh. The guy seemed helpful, but the lady who “helped” me acted like she didn’t want to be there. I explained I was frustrated bc I had a time with the truck and wanted the storage to be better. She was extremely dismissive and made me call corporate to try and get a bigger storage unit. The size of the truck they attempted to give me was not big enough. Then I get to the storage facility after driving 7 hours to learn the unit is a hallway with a door. My church member bought the 2nd unit bc I was told you didn’t combine units and there were no bigger ones available except in a bad neighborhood. I didn’t yell or act ugly and the lady just didn’t seem like she wanted to help me resolve the issue. I also asked her to check to make sure I didn’t get over charged. She stated once I turned in the truck she would be able to see my contract. I did and she gave me a receipt with $0.00 on it and said defer to the original one. I’m asking because I have no idea where it is. I just moved my life to another state in less than 2 days.

ROBERT SMITH | First ImpressionsThis was the worst experience ever!!! I rented the unit online and that was easy… I get to the site and the organization of the numbers are plain crazy! The lady at the front desk was helpful. When I first got to my unit it was at the very back of the building with a large open area and the lights did not turn on. There was a lock on the unit, I thought “oh a lock comes with it”… I buzzed for the young lady and asked if she had the key for my lock… she replied “oh so this ain’t your lock? Is this your unit? I showed her my confirmation text and she apparently called another coworker or friend on her personal cell and asked if someone was coming in today and the person on the phone said “nah she not coming in today she works tomorrow” the young lady asked the person on the phone if the girl was coming to get her stuff and the person on the phone said “she was supposed to get it yesterday but she didn’t feel like moving it then she said she was coming today. The young lady informed the person on the phone that I was there and ready to move in and the person on the phone said just tell the lady to just come back tomorrow or we will call her when it’s ready.” The young lady turned to me and before she could repeat what the person said on the phone I asked if they had another unit and she said no, but you can come back tomorrow and hopefully she will have her stuff out. Needless to say that wasn’t an option with 2 trucks full of stuff in the rain!!!! I had to call all around the Memphis area and unfortunately was not able to find the size I needed and ended wasting gas, time, energy, and a lot more money.

I'm paying 229$ per hour and it took 5 hrs to empty two units. I'll never use U-Haul at this location on Austin Pea again!!! This design makes it impossible for loading and unloading. Everything must go on a cart down a long hall! Crazy design.

I paid on the 24 of July 89.00 and moved out on the 29, therefore I should have been reimbursed for some money. Another time Uhaul sent notice that if I paid before the due date my charge would not go up the additional $5.00, I paid immediately but of course I still had to pay additional money.

I also don't understand that I can make a reservation for equipment on line and then check in at the desk and find out that there is no equipment available even though I reserved it. Maybe you should start linking your equipment with the on line reservations.

Instead of evicting that person from the unit or taking the things out, I was forced to pay more for another larger unit. I reserved my unit 3 weeks in advance. I almost didn’t get another unit, as there weren’t many options. By luck, the larger unit was found. Even though I reserved my unit 3 weeks in advance, I was almost turned away with all my belongings. Luckily the workers were kind about it, but this was not my fault and it felt like I was being punished for someone’s inability to do their job.

When that didn't work your employee made several trips from her office back and forth to my car and we finally were able to leave for Memphis. We were told that the dolly we paid for was not available and were asked to pick it up from another location. We were short on time and did not go by the other location. Your Memphis employees were very empathetic and gave us credit for the missing dolly and were very helpful with our check-in. But I was a little surprised by the $95 rate. You only had a 10x10x10 unit a 2 5x10x10 units bad taste in my mouth for that.
