One truck has black mold in the back and bugs and cigarette butts. Very unsanitary for my children to be in these vehicles and certainly unhealthy conditions. This was my first experience with uhaul. I spent my whole day trying to get a cleaner, correct size truck, since we rented a 15 foot15foot that was actually 13 feet with a top headspacehead space about 2 foot tall that is what made the truck 15 long...What we rented it for would not fit due to this. First, No one told me to do a check around the truckaround truck before leaving. I, I called U HaulUhaul immediately after getting home and saw the message with a linkwith link to take photos of the truckof truck before leaving the Uhaul place. The scheduling dept (Lashawn) told me I would need to go back and talk to the rental office. I wanted to exchange trucks without having to pay for the first.I called but their phone lines were down from a lightning strike that hit the previous week the employees said….So I called back to .makeake sure the location would have the actual size we needed before driving back, The guy said no, but they may have one not checked in yet, and to call back scheduling dept to see what they could do. After waiting for a call and getting nowhereno where I decided to go ahead and rent the second truck online so I knew we would have one. When I goti got there asking for a refundfor tbe refund, I was refused. SO I did the picture thing before leaving, checked out the truck that was just as disturbinglydisturbing clean wise as the first and went on my way. After I goti got home,my husband checked it out anda d discoveredThe second truck rental the blinkers did not work. I, I didn'tdidnt think I needed to do a whole inspection before leaving. One tire was very dry rotted, at highwayhighways speeds it could have blownblew at any moment. So I calledi called Uhaulback. After reaching Tori finally after 4pm she helped me as much as she was capable of and I greatly appreciate her help getting me in the best option. Uhaul had available. But I am still waiting for a refund from the first and second rental truck. Please contact me, I'd like to further discuss uhaul with a person above the general managers please.

Duane DodsonThis location is easy to work with and very helpful. The only problem is that you can’t lock the trailer to hitch. So someone can take the trailer and move it to another hitch. The only thing that would prevent that would be the weight on the tongue of the trailer. The worker explained Uhaul was having trouble getting trailers back but you could charge more for ones with locking features. It would get someone moving a little more peace of mind moving distance over multiple days.

Well they didn't give me 2 days just one and charged me for it and it had a bent rim. The truck was new but hat a hop in the front end and check engine light was on.

Waldemar ZarzyckiGave me a truck that almost fell apart and then was rude when I drove it to the nearest place that rented uhauls and returned it. The guy at the gas station never turned the rental in on the computer and this location had the nerve to be rude to me and explained I would be paying extra for me not returning it to the correct location. I finally called a main customer service number and a lady named Anne was very helpful. After not renting me another truck to get back home I spent several more hundred dollars to finally get home at 1:45 A.M....teach your people that customers are the only reason they have a job.

TARINE TEAGUEPersonal opinion, someone needs to ask if you plan on putting furniture in these units that are in a narrow hallway. We could not fit our couch down the narrow hallway and into the unit. We ended up ruining our couch and having to throw it away. My husband messed his hand up trying to get the furniture in the unit. The layout is very inconvenient and doesn’t make sense if it’s for people who are putting big bulky items in it. We drove around and thought it was a drive up unit and it isn’t. We wanted to put our trailer inside also and we are unable. As I said, someone needs the explain these specific units are in a narrow hallway with other units and not an outer facing unit, not a unit to put big bulky furniture in.

There is NO SIGN on what seems to be the front of the building that the office is around the back. So people pull in and wander around trying to figure out where to go. The staff is pretty laid back, to say the least.
Patricia NeaseI think that personnel should as professionals to get customers vehicles on and or off towing railing. At pick up, my car was put on the tow nicely by a uhaul employee/representative. Gave me info in how to check while on the road and made the process smoth but the drop off was not the case. Employee said no customer is the one to bring car down. I am highly uncomfortable bringing my car down. What if something happens under their supervision? It should be part of service. As it was when I got it. Disappointing.

My truck and trailer should have been hooked up and ready at my pick up time. Also, note that I had booked this online so they had plenty of preparation time. Almost 45 minutes of my rent time was consumed at the uhaul place.

SYDNEY RUBENSTEIN | Overall ExperienceThe only concern is if you are on the 2nd floor and someone is moving there things to the first floor using the elevator there are no stairs besides the emergency exit stairs available and the only restroom is on the first floor so it can be a precarious situation.
Michael Poe | Overall ExperienceWhile the facility was nice and well kept, constant price hikes forced me to choose a new place to take my business. I found a larger unit for half the price. Inflation is happening to all of us and consumers are being given the short end of the stick. The continued price hikes proved that Uhaul cared more about money than the customers it served. Nothing at the facility ever changed or improved, but that extra $30 a month was enough to change and improve my storage needs and location.

Cynthia Forrest | First ImpressionsWhen we went to load our storage unit at the location, we were advised that there would already be a lock available in the unit. One was not available, so I had to go to the front office to get one. The manager of the operation provided me with the lock and apologized, stating that they were very busy that day. We got into our unit without issue and were able to unload the rest of the truck. The individual instructions for access into the units was not clear at all. We tripped the alarms to our unit at least 3 times before another renter showed us out to work the alarm systems. Considering we had to rely on another renter to clarify how to access the units is concerning. There are some posted signs and placards on the outside of the building, but there is nothing regarding the system posted within the U-Haul app or the emails that I received after completing the check-in process. Additional information provided upon online check-in regarding this would have been helpful.

Mohkam Singh | Online Move InWhile the staff was helpful with our move in I must say the communication between the call center and the local U-Haul facility was awful! We had two individual one-way moves which qualified us for two free months of storage. Initially we were informed by the call center we couldn’t do back-to-back months in the same unit but they would make a reservation for the 2nd free month. When I received a text indicating my “move-out day was approaching” I called the call center and was told, “it’s up to the individual store manager if you can get a 2nd free month.” Then was told by the call center the “store manager will contact you,” which of course they didn’t. I went to move my items the next day only to find out I’d already been billed for the another month for my current unit! Fortunately, the store employee understood what was happening and backed the charge out. Doesn’t end here; then the employee informed me that have no other similar units available! So the reservation that had been in the system for a month meant NOTHING! I had to rent a truck and find other accommodations…seems a very-very poor way to do business and treat a customer who just spent $3K on moves.

He’s the bartender, the pizza delivery guy, the person gathering carts in a lot that makes you think “why is he working here (no offense)? They seem like they could be doing something much more lucrative”. All of your employees were at least pretty good - but Blake is special. Fantastic attitude and it’s authentic. I can tell it’s real. You’ll want to hold onto that one - I suggest rewarding his pay rate to reflect your wanting to keep him from getting a job somewhere else. Good day!

I was out by middle of August, they even called me to tell me my unit wasnt locked in August and I told them it was empty already. Then in Sept got an email I was past due and responded I wasnt as I had canceled my unit. In Oct I talked to a lady over the phone reiterating the same thing. In November she called me again and then after hanging up with her someone called me from Pensacola and once again I told this other lady.. Now you have threatened to ruin my credit with a collection. I will sue Uhaul if this happens

Truck smelled a little when I got it but I was able to work through it. Truck wasn’t very clean either when we got it, but the customer service by Blake offset these negatives. Thanks again to him and the other staff there.

The staff member was extremely friendly but not knowledgeable at all on typing skills, didn’t know how an offer currently running worked, confused the entire time she was talking with us. On top of all that she directed us to the wrong storage unit on the map. Then on top of that we come back after store closes to put our stuff in the storage unit and we can’t access the building because she never issued us an access card. Then tried calling the after hours manager and the phone just rang and rang and the n voicemail was full. Was going out on a whim and figured she would call back but 6:24am the next day still no call and no access.

JOSEPH LUCANTE | Overall ExperienceEverything went very well, and that was due to 2 factors. First, UHaul equipment (truck and auto trailer) are top notch. Very safe and very reliable. Second, and most importantly, your assistant manager at the Panama City location saved the day. You see, I reserved the truck, trailer, and a storage unit on August 8th, with the assumption that all would be available on the dates designated for the move (Aug 31st and Sep 1st). The equipment was ready on the 31st, and I arrived in Panama City on the 1st only to hear that the storage unit was not available. Apparently, your computer system assumed that I intended to move my things into the storage unit 3 weeks before I would pick up the truck to move the stuff in the first place. If I could make that happen I wouldn’t have needed the truck. I could have clicked my heels like Dorothy and presto, me and my belongings would have appeared on Aug 8th, when I made the reservations. Your assistant manager worked magic in finding a storage unit, on site, for me. His customer service skills and professionalism were outstanding in every respect. I’m in retail management, and I know when someone makes their company look good no matter what. This gentleman did exactly that. But he should have never been put in that position in the first place. When your customer is moving, it’s best to assume that he/she will need a reserved storage unit upon their arrival, not before. Such a logical assumption should be incorporated into your computer program, and it’s rather astonishing that it isn’t. I hope experiences such as mine will help.

Tori Greenwood went out of her way to locate a unit for me on the same hallway as soon as it became available - within a few days from the initial request. I have had several units over the last 10 years I have been in Panama City and have noticed and enjoyed seeing the improvements in the facility and the positive attitude of the staff since she has managed the location.

Instead of taking my reservation number or anything, she gave me the storage room that she wanted to give me. She then put the wrong unit number in the system and gave me keys to a different one. I had to wait in the heat for 15 minutes for someone to move a truck blocking me in. Then I had to go and remind her that I was still waiting. The manager fixed the truck and storage issues the next day. He was professional.

Waited till Monday went back to find out they put the lock on the init for my safety but the lock used for my safety was half the size my lock was and took the lady 30 mins to find the key to the lock that put on my unit! 2nd 2 months in my unit went up 30.00 that was it for me. Go no watches so no time for that crap! With the world struggling like we are and people gauging people is sad! I will take the rest of my rental services to another company!

Upon arrival, I was told there were NO 10 x 10 units available AND I was the 3rd person that day that reserved a unit not available. How unprofessional is your company to allow customers to think you have availability when you don't! You completely wasted my time and gas, only to have to rush and find an alternative storage unit last second! Then U-Haul charged me an extra $2.40 for driving over the miles provided, which was U-Hauls fault for sending me to their storage unit that didn't have what I needed! Corporate should at least reimburse me for that! I even returned your truck a day early AND returned an appliance dolly that was left in my truck. I am an honest person and your company should be ashamed!

It was very dark to the point you couldn't even use the natural sunlight to see inside. I never used the unit, never even put a lock on it because of anxiety and fear of something happening to me and being closed up and never found. I did try to contact the manager but she was out of the office. I just took it as a lost and got another unit elsewhere.

However, the additional charge for transport 1 day extension, return to wrong location, which was suppose to have same dislocation drop off as truck when I picked up. I don't feel i should have had to pay more than the one day extension. Note i couldn't even get both units on same day or place. Using my time, mileage of rented truck and having to pay the fuel used to pick up transport, and delaying my departure date. Ps I discussed with representative when I picked up transport i would be returning both units to the same address in panama, Fl. Both units were to be dislocation to panama. Your employee made the error and I shouldn't have to pay for that error. Also at drop point my car was still on the transport. As this is my only means of transport once transport and truck were returned. also note my reason for extension was fully because I was dealing with the flu and fevered. Preventing others from getting ill was a precaution and being to sick to leave the restroom for long.

The space wasn't available so they gave me a 10 x 10 which wasn't large enough. The lady argued with me when i said I should get equal space for free (1st month). I requested a manager and the general manager was in agreement with me and gave me an additional 5x10. The 5x10 is also in a different building. Although equal in total square footage it completely changed the way I could load the space so I had to rent an additional 5x10 at an exorbitant price. The shining star in the whole experience is a Gentleman named Wyatt who actually apologized for the way I was treated. I'm very displeased with the service I received from U-Haul and will never use them again. I will also do my best to discourage others from availing themselves of U-Hauls services.

Then when I found out that I had a month free storage I thought finally something good kmbo nope the CS Agent made me feel like I shouldn't be there got wrong size unit had truck half unloaded but unit was 2 small after the third attempt finally a right size. I fell while unloading due to unlevel ground and gravel, couldn't hardly park for unloading for the water. This trip cost over 1500.00 and not one once of Freaking kindness from Uhaul. I believe they should give more for the duress I had to endure absolutely horrible experience

They did have one available in climate controlled but wanted me to pay additional $ over my quoted price. The manager then offered me 2 smaller units to make up for one I reserved but when we got there one of the 2 smaller units was full. We went back and the manager found another unit for us. A couple days later I went back to get some items and U-haul put a padlock on the other unit. I had to get with the office to sort out the mess as I was getting 2 smaller units for the bigger unit I reserved. I guess no one followed up on the proper paperwork. Concerned how the billing is going to work out as I had a monthly quoted price for 1 bigger unit and they put.me in 2 smaller units. Manager assured me it will be correct. To be honest, everything has been a hassle from the trailer to the storage unit with U-haul. The manager did give me a 2nd lock for the other unit as I was planning on only having to buy 1 lock since I was only going to have 1 unit. The employees did seem to care about making things right just not the best follow through. I would recommend for convenience and fair pricing.

They have a very good restroom which is large and clean with the paper toilet seat covers. I had one of the inside units and I felt my belongings were safe and I did not worry or feel like I needed to go by and check on it. When I need a storage unit again, I will definitely use the U-Haul at 15th St and Balboa.

My facility closed at 7 and we were there at 7:15. The code pad to enter the unit was "out of service" and it said to call a manager. When we called the number provided, it went to the call center. The woman in the call center called the number for the "manager" and it went straight to voicemail. So now, we have a truck full of stuff and the uhaul we rented is going to be late due to this, because I have to work and cannot finish unloading the uhaul.

I pulled into the wrong driveway, but there was no signage directing me to a different entrance. After I stopped because I couldn't go any further, I was scolded by the guy on the golf cart for going the wrong way and told "next time come in the other way" As if there was going to be a next time and I intentionally came in the wrong way after driving 850 miles. Call and in-person waiting times are very long. Climate control storage doors were often propped open, of course reducing the effectiveness of the climate control. After the free month, I moved my stuff out, because it cost me too much in time and related issues. BTW the A/C didn't work in the 26' I rented. You have lost me as a customer.

I don't think you should rent a storage unit that is still under construction just to get money. Now all his toys are ruined.
