The transmission didn’t work very well and slipped and the back right wheel. The bearings were going and leaking bearing grease all over plus something was leaking underneath the steering column, which got all over my shoes.

Erik MartinezI had a bad experience with the workers. I dropped my rental off 6 hours before I was even needed to return it. I left the gas exactly where it was when I picked it up. Walked the keys inside and handed them to an employee behind the desk. The following day I received a phone call asking if I planned on returning the truck because I’m late. Even though said truck was returned early the day prior. Then received a second phone call from employee saying I didn’t return the equipment from the back of the truck even though one of the items I didn’t receive at the time of rental. Then I received a final bill stating I left the truck on empty and had to pay an extra 30 dollars even though I left the gas exactly how I received it.

Philip CareyMiles on the truck were nearly 20miles off from my paper work. I returned the truck same day. I had the truck for 4 hours and they charged me for an extra day. Plus a late service fee. I have contacted U-Haul. They respond saying we will call you back but never did! I have to call repeated times.

Locally they gave a couple a lock which was used for my reserved unit. It took an hour to get it straightened out. Cost me 200. I was supposed to get 1st month free but I was charged and no one can tell me if I get the 2 nd month free Not ideal

Lisa Frazier | Overall ExperienceI live in PA and rented an outside parking space at U-Haul in Melrose Park, IL to store my car while I rented a different vehicle for a work contract in the upper midwest for the winter. I've always had a great experience with the U-Haul facilities I've done business with and this location absolutely upheld those standards. I was very nervous to leave my car in one of the most populated areas in the country for a few months, but Christina eased my worry by pointing out the good lighting and the security cameras when she showed me where to park. I picked up my car on a Sunday during business hours and everyone was helpful with my questions and my car was exactly as I had left it. I don't know if the inside storage units operate the same but note that there is not a prorated rate offered, only a monthly rate - this information is in the contract so I knew ahead of time and planned accordingly. Very happy with this facility!

And there wasn't a freight elevator so some of my property couldn't fit in the elevator. I had to be creative. However, everything else was great.

I had two vehicles I was managing along with an Uber ride and had to use up 2 parking spaces for about 1/2 hour while managing all this and they were very kind and understanding. I reserved a unit to store my vehicle and Christina helped me feel confident that it will be safe at this location.

The staff seemed to be accustomed to these break downs as if they were usual fare. The whole place is clean inside. Outside, the parking surfaces are uneven and bumpy. The computer systems seemed to be regularly down when we were dealing with the front staff.

They Never went through the process of having to go on line and check it in or there would be an additional $20 fee. In addition opening our locker same day as rented kept setting off the alarm. We were told the system needs a day to process us.
