The locking mechanism on the trailer wouldn't completely latch. When I returned home, the door was open. When I tried to pull it down it wouldn't budge. I had to return to the store and have them fix the door. Too much time wasted.

The office smells like body odor and cigarettes along with that combination that hasn’t showered or done laundry in days maybe weeks. The staff was rude when I asked simple questions as if I should already know the answers when clearly I don’t if I’m asking as I’m hoping they do sense they work there. Their sense of arrogance and pride was obnoxious as the place smells and my money was paying their salary but it’s like I was ruining their day for coming in and they had more important things to do than help me. The storage unit was mouse ridden and I had to throw away more than half of my stuff as it was infested and covered in mouse poop and pee. I would not recommend storage here and I would look elsewhere. They raised their prices every year, I started at $105 and when I left it was $140 a month, you’d think the longer you stay rates would stay the same or you would get a discount. Poor service, poor management and poor facilities. About time for the upper management to get involved and do something about the staff and smell.

I was taken back that the employee at the counter had to use his personal cell phone to take pictures of the front and back of my drivers license. This should never happen as the employee could steal my identity or sell this information. There should be another way to integrate the software to allow it to work. This made me very upset and I did comment to the worker about this and he said that the computer could not take pictures. At the very minimum, there should be a work phone or camera to take the pictures…

Had quite a runaround with the multiple changes for pickup location (swtiched from Mankato to Owatonna and then back to North Mankato, but then again from North Mankato to LeCenter, but the eventual solution (back to original Mankato location) was acceptable.

Great experience! As per usual Jerome to save the day! I needed some assistance getting into my storage units and he assisted me with that. Trying to get the transaction finalized another staff member was struggling with getting it to move along the process and Jerome stepped in and made it a much smoother transaction. He is gem! Always kind and always a smile on his face. Great customer service and I wish my employees were as genuine and professional in their behavior as him.

I rented a 26-footer and a 5x8 enclosed trailer. The hood of the truck flew up several times as I was driving home because nobody secured the latches. When I was picking up the truck and trailer, one of the guys working there said I was stupid for renting both the truck and trailer because the 26-footer would fit everything I would need (by the way, it didn’t). Then the other guy insulted my drivers license picture during the process, just to add to the overall experience. The one redeeming part is the lady there tried to be nice and smooth things over, she was friendly and helpful. Overall, will never come back to this location and will tell everyone I know to avoid it too.

I really don't know as everything was great and went smoothly I fit a 1930 Ford model A front cowl and doors front end inside the brand new 2023 Ford Van ...... Yeah a 1930 Ford inside a 2023 Ford It was a good afternoon to move this body piece and I was really surprised how well it fit and loaded and then un loaded inside the U Haul Van thank you And I will rent again from U-Haul when I need to from time to time thank you very much Jesse Gonzales

The staff here are beyond rude and less than helpful. The information you receive depends on who you talk to and when. You can talk to the same person and within 2 hours they have changed their answer. They treat you like you are an idiot. Completely unprofessional. They care more about smoking and getting high than helping you. Not to mention the security here is a joke. Anyone can come and go from the “locked” buildings. The fact that I never felt safe being on site and the lack of professionalism from the staff is the reason I took my business elsewhere. Seen many other people doing the same too.

Everything was very clean and ready for my move in. Jerome was very helpful. The only negative things I would have to say was that there were a few “sketchy” people hanging around when we were moving in. We had to be very careful to watch our stuff. Luckily there were 4 of us there. Also, I wasn’t told how to hold the double doors open while moving in. I had to keep swiping my card until a stranger showed us how to flip a switch.

The staff in the store was rude to me and wouldn't let me fully explain the issue I was having with the alarm before interrupting me and speaking over me. I completely understood his frustration because there were multiple people standing in line and only one person in the store, but it still wasn't a great experience. I ended up just thanking him and dropping the issue in the interest of cutting him a break. I hope uhaul can get more staff soon so the staff that is working isn't stretched so thin.

Wouldn’t let me complete online check in, had to go inside where there was no employee at the desk for about 15 minutes while a line queued behind me. When he finally got back he was very rude to the customers. Finally was able to figure out how to get in my storage building and the door wouldn’t automatically open we had to put the code in and pull it open each time ourselves.

There were multiple sizes of units, which was great. The facility was warm, which was great for the winter months. The staff was extremely helpful every time I was into the office, which was 3 times. The only thing that needs improvement is the card swipe system that gives you entrance to the facility. It is confusing getting as well as securing it when you leave. You need a better, user-friendly card system. When I was there on a couple occasions I was not the only one having difficulties. Jerome sucks! Didn’t give us proper information on how to utilize storage, as this is our first time renting a storage! We were running back and forth but ended up using the wrong swipe system and that’s why it wasn’t working. He just told us what building, swipe card and enter our storage but didn’t tell us which system, there is two on our building and how storage works except what we cannot put in it and disarm before opening. Also, made reservations and he made it difficult to process, explaining how much more “difficult” it is to get it on the spot when I reserved it ahead of time! He also took a LONG smoke break before greeting us.

About the only thing I would change would be, in the climate control units, have the bathroom entrance on the INSIDE of the building. In the winter it gets kind of cold!! Oh and the sliding door needs to be fixed! Random people could be walking in off the street..

We were fortunate to have your storage facility in Mankato close enough to Blue Earth where our mom lived, and that the storage units were practically new and were in wonderful, clean condition. After our mom passed away in late 2019, we were able to safely and securely store many of her smaller belongings until we were ready to distribute them to family members just recently. Should anyone in our family need storage again some day, we won't hesitate to rent there again.

Only upon arrival, we were informed our reserved rental unit was not available and we would have to choose other units. I don’t know why we were not informed of this prior. We had to settle for another offering but this only offered heat instead of the desired climate control. This was fine for now but the heat was clearly not working in the rental building. We were also not allowed a price break to compensate for the inconvenience, or much flexibility. I did acknowledge the heat issue with the staff, who indicated they would contact the manager. Have not been back yet to check on this, but will soon. Staff was friendly but not too helpful in this experience for us. Overall, disappointing

I reserved a unit online 2 weeks ago. When I went to pick it up, I was given a unit much smaller than my original reservation. I was told they were over reserved and that there was nothing else that could be done. I immediately checked out of my unit and demanded a refund. The manager was not the nicest and kept blaming the error on the internet system. This was a huge inconvenience as I needed to begin moving into my unit on the day I picked it up. I will not use uhaul ever again for this reason. Very disappointed!
