4 1/2 hour to install while I waited, no waiting area, lucky I was given a chair. After 3 1/2 hr I was told ten minutes, and hour later they were finally done. If you use this facility don’t wait. Horrible experience.

Everytime I’ve needed to Haul something this has been my U-Haul rental location. The staff working this past Saturday on 3/2/24 were beyond accommodating & assisting. They understood my situation and did everything they could to help me. An when we went to return our vehicle they even remembered my unique situation & help assure that it wasn’t going to be an issue. This location has a Wonderful staff, Christina Loriana was the one who assisted me & I still wish her all the best because she was just that wonderful! to work with it, during this difficult time of my move. Thank you again!

The truck parking brake was broke and I forgot to check my mileage before I left and got charged 24 miles and I only moved from bayway in Elizabeth to the border of linden polonia ave in Elizabeth to Nora drive in linden

The person that work at this location that day was terrible! He has zero customer care experience. He doesn’t care at all. If I wasn’t in a hurry, I would have gone to another U-Haul location. I rarely complain about customer service because I was a customer service professional myself for a dacade,, but this guy behavior is beyond comprehension.

The equipment was clean but not maintained. The first truck I rented from this location had a check engine light on and a cracked windshield. This rental had transmission issues. Great on gas.

I picked up a 15’ truck The back of the truck was left open when we received it I used it to pickup/drop off one 6’ display case that was brand new, clean & empty. Returned the truck in less than 2 hrs. The store charged me a $25 cleaning fee which was impossible that there was ANYTHING left behind/dirty in the truck I rented when like I said all I moved in the 15’ truck was 1 6’ item that was brand new…there was nothing that could have left the truck dirty. I literally only got that truck because I needed the ramp. I tried calling the store and was left on hold for an hour before I gave up and hung up…the only reason I know any of this info is because I call the Corp number and they told me the reason for the additional charge. I used this place 1 previous time and the battery of the truck died less than 5minutes after pulling off. And it took them 4+ hrs to get someone out to pick up the truck and get me a replacement…totally messing up my entire moving day/plans, with no reimbursement, credit, discount, or something as simple as an apology. The yard is also a mess…everything is everywhere and everyone including the customers leave not only the trucks but even the cars anywhere blocking everything so now your also wasting time trying to get ppl to move cars and trucks out of the way for you to get out. I will never use them again.

This shop used to be the one we went all the time and we have been very happy with their service. But for the recent few month the service there became completely disastrous. The Male employee is extremely impatient and being rude and saying he does not care if he loses the job and the funny part is nobody knows what is going on and why he is being like that.

Didn’t hook up the trailer correctly, came off at highway speeds. Luckily no one was hurt or killed. My bumper was damaged. Take the hooking up phase more seriously and ensure your trailers are on correctly.

The woman behind the desk was great, very nice! Only problem was the drivers window did not work. The crank handle was missing. Besides this everything else was great.

Have a correct vehicle when reserved. It seems reservations mean nothing. I had to Uber to Edgar street because 1401 St. Georges Ave took my reservation and waited until time for me to pick it up to then bsay they did not have a vehicle. With a vehicle sitting in the lot that he claimed was for someone else. Piss poor professionalism at 1401 St George's.

When I called to make a reservation I was told that I could leave my car in the lot as I used the uhaul truck for a few hours. when i arrived I was told it was not possible to do so. I had to park on a side street that was not secured. I was told by the person behind the counter that the customer service reps tell customers all the time that they can leave their personal vehicle in the lot but simply not true. very disappointing - otherwise it was good

Customer service was great/terrible. When I first arrived I was standing at the counter, yet the agent (lady) stayed on her personal phone. I had to actually say something. Once she addressed me , she told me the me the dollies I had reserved were not available (I ordered 4, she said she only had two.) I had a move to make and reserved a month in advance and confirmed again 2 days in advance. She said it was not her problem and ended up selling me a dolly instead. The gentlemen who was their when I reserved took her side and acted like he didn't tell me what I had reserved. Upon returning the vehicle, the new lady (who I originally reserved with/at the desk informed me their were dollys available and They should have given me what I reserved. The new agent gave me a new discount and apologized for the issue. Based on the 3 people, I two very different experiences. Could I recommend someone. Can you guarantee me the right people will be at the desk. Most likely not.

This U-Haul storage location is old and it needs updating. This is a very busy area. U-Haul trucks are all over the place along with their trailers which makes it harder to bring stuff into your storage locker that is the main reasons I left .

Doors locked after hours and they did not provide a key or code I had to rent a hotel and wait till the next morning. Staff rude and disrespectful. Units smelled like dead rats or dead animals. no room to park truck and move items out of units.

I will never recommend my friends/ family to uhaul @ 1440 Edgar road because on numerous occasions i reported my items in my unit was damaged from the rain. The issues was never repaired.

Please fix or update the computer system at the store as it delayed customers' reservations to get processed. It happened to a custumet who reserved a moving truck. It took about 30 mns to get service
