Charges me for a 10x10 ended up giving me a much smaller storage down the street on Pendleton pike and still did not refund me the difference of what they charged and what I got. Also called today 8 times no answer, called another location they picked up on the 2nd ring. I the professionalism is far below average. I was beyond disappointed. Also I paid for a dolly that was not in the back of the truck and it stated it had 1/4 of a tank the 50 miles to empty light was on when I got in it. It was just a mess.

I was told where to drop the uhaul and how many miles I was given but I was not told that if I extended the time I would be charged for another day rental. The customer service representative Kmary made sure to tell me it was in my contract. As I explained to her I understand that but I was not told that during the signing and payment process. I am waiting on the manager from Pendleton Pike to call me. It is Monday 1/15/23 I haven’t heard anything. I will be reaching out to the Springhill location to speak with their manager because according to the same representative that the only person who can refund my money. One more thing I was told that a uhaul associate was supposed to hook the auto transport up. The associate at the Pendleton Pike told me I could do it myself. I’m not sure which is true. The reservation was made with the auto transport and then I was given the wrong truck for a one way trip so the associate had to change the truck and then tried to charge me again for the auto transport. I was told that it would be fixed however it was not. My name was typed in wrong I was told it was correct I not sure if this has changed. The auto transport was due after the truck that was unusual for me but I don’t work for uhaul. Please make these to changes to help your new and old customers.
`Gage BrandyWhen the trucks are returned the nextt morning that person on shift needs to put returns in system sameday it’s returned not a day later that holds up the $100 that rental puts a hold on to get a truck costs a lot to get a 10 inch truck $19.99 then total equals $65 or more plus the $100 hold makes no sense to me but the ones whom rented it to me were respect and nice I rate them a 10

James LeachEquipment was ok, wasn’t dirty, however the engine light was on and the right mirror was “stuck” or something, I was unable to adjust it, but I made it work. My experience checking in was ok, however because I was a face to face customer checking in at the front desk and NOT online, I should have had options to check in “live” with a living person versus being directed to an “app”. Considering I choose to come into the store. When directed to make changes utilizing the app, I did so. The gas was incorrect on the physical paper I was given, I updated the gas that was in the truck through the app to make sure it was accurate. The app even took a picture to reflect the change. When I returned the truck I replace the gas (at the gas station that’s in the same LOT as this location) to match where the gas was when I left the lot. Because I choose to “trust” in your company and employees I did NOT take a picture of the gas level with my phone (I should have). I was told I would receive a receipt via email, which I did NOT, I had to call and ask for my receipt. When asked why Was I charged for “gas” I was told I didn’t replace the gas to the correct level. At this point I’ll take responsibility of not covering myself by taking a picture of where the gas was before I got out the truck. However, uHaul has LOST a customer in me for LIfE!!! I will no longer Support not utilize this company for my moving, storage or trucking needs! It’s very simple. We all have choices, & instead of “listening” to a customer who have used them for years. A TRUST worthy customer at that.they choose to disregard my concerns. I will spend my money with another company. Thank you

But I found a dead mouse in storage and some of my bags had holes in them. And on top of that the people they have at the front desk have horrible customer service, they take forever to complete transactions and have a horrible attitude most of the time. They act as if we were asking them for a favor which in reality I’m also just wanting to turn in keys or close my storage unit as fast and simple as possible. I would understand if they took forever with just one customer but no they take forever with everyone and while they’re completing the transaction they’re eating or talking and laughing among the other employees and to me that’s just not professional. I’ve rented truck and units from that place before multiple times but it just gets worse!

The only real trouble was when I or an employee had to use any of U-Haul's support, website, or applications. They never worked correctly for anyone in the store. Staff was always helpful and where able to work around the multiple problems, but considering it's a company issue and not a store issue I'll be avoiding U-Haul in the future.

Then walk off. Like we were the problem or inconvenience and hadn’t been waiting for an hour or forced to be late to work. I’m coo on Uhaul.

Because I took a bye out then my insurance claim wasn’t good but I had insurance for two years. That’s no reason my stuff should be damaged because of the vents and water leaks in the ceiling. The way the manager felt nothing she could do or insurance ppl couldn’t take the claim. When I seen what happen I showed the office manager how my couches was damage. Regardless what happen I should not get the run around about this claim.

Orietta Dowlen | Overall ExperienceSeveral issues! I rarely complain about anything. So, here’s how it went…. My pickup was 10am Sunday, Sept. 18th at the Castleton 86th St. location. A lady with glasses was rude to me. There were two people in front of me at the desk. This lady asked the couple something, but I didn’t hear what she said. As I was standing there, I let her know that I had done my online pre-registration. She looked at me and said, “Well, come over here then. I asked you just a few minutes ago, but you were just standing there looking down messing with your leg.” I had no idea she was even talking to me a few minutes prior. I thought she was talking to the customers in front of me. Also, she continued to be rude, Constant smirking, and short tempered. She was asking questions about my drop off location, and seemed confused because I let her know I did everything online already. She continued to treat me like I was an idiot. When she gave me the key to the truck, I asked her to walk out with me because I didn’t know which one to look for. Mind you…I never rented from Uhaul before. I had no idea about the truck numbers being on the bottom. She gave me zero instructions, no suggestions, and didn’t inform me about there being no moving pads available on the truck. I didn’t know I had to purchase them. She also failed to tell me there were 2 Uhaul storages within a couple miles of each other, so I went to the wrong one. Helping a new customer appeared to be an inconvenience to her. When I finally arrived, the staff was friendly at the Lawrence location in Indianapolis, but….apparently, all of my information was lost, or “did not transfer to that location” so I had to give them my information all over again…..and the storage unit was a lot smaller than I needed, but I was too exhausted to go back and attempt to change units. I had to let go of a few pieces of nice furniture because they did not fit. Trust me, I packed the unit! I told the person on the phone I needed a unit for a 1 bedroom apartment. Keep in mind, I never did this before, but that’s what he offered me. Nothing bigger. I don’t like someone treating me with disrespect, like I’m an idiot, and not offering me any suggestions, or help. I was left to simply “figure it out”. Lastly, I was charged wrong. I was over charged $77, and it should’ve been a free first month. I am pretty good about figuring out situations, but this experience was absolutely horrible!!!

My only complaint is that after being with Uhaul for 8 years and faithfully paying my storage bill even when I got behind from loss of work...I still kept up paying for my unit! But having to pay to have lock that wasn't mine removed really was a major issue! My keys were stolen from my car so I was prepared to pay to have my lock removed...but to get to my unit and see that a combination lock had been placed on my unit...tells me that this was done by Uhaul and there should have been the combination code to open the lock? So I feel that I should be refunded back the $50.00 seeing that I was made to pay upfront in order to even get the maintenance guy to come remove the lock! That's the only grievance that I have from being with Uhaul 8 years!

The non-chalant, short, oh well, glad it’s not me, without a smile (what I perceived from body language) manager that represents U-Haul is mind blowing. There may have been many people that abused Covid as an excuse; however, that was not the case for my family and I. We really experienced “life happenings” and when we were impacted by Covid, because of what U-Haul did in 2020 we weren’t eligible. I was very disappointed that I had to move an entire 10*10 unit out because I couldn’t pay $125 at a later date. I had to pay insurance fee again and was told I will be reimbursed once corporate receives urgent message. Hopefully things are handled more responsibly in the future.
