Pamela ScottThe tow dolly that was originally rented to me wasn't not found on the property. The guy helping me decided to give me another tow dolly and he was suppose to let the front office know about the missing tow dolly and that he gave me another one. The guy never informed the office that the original tow dolly wasn't out back and the he gave me another tow dolly. I returned the tow dolly that night after U Haul closed and 2 days later I get an email saying that I need to return the original tow dolly. I went back the this location and let them know what happen and they did close out the account but I do not like the fact that the guy never informed the office that he wasn't able to find the tow dolly and that he gave me another one. This is my second time having issues with this location. The last time I rented a tow dolly someone was suppose to me to set up the tow dolly and they never showed up. I waited 15mins then went back to the office and they said the guy is walking over there now. I go back and no one was there. I waited another 15mins and no show again. I went back to the office and told them to cancel my rented.

I had a reservation and had my friend go to the location for me because I was running late. While my friend was in line it turned 7pm and the young man (short dreads and glasses and drives a older Burgundy car (I think a Hyundai) with VA tags). So, my friend waited for me outside and when I arrived, I asked the employee if I can I get the truck he was extremely rude and dismissive. He only acted like he wanted to leave and did not seem to have any care of my issue. He did not even want to speak to me. He almost got me out of my character but i relaxed. He is why I will never come to that location again and more than likely choose another company when I need to move. The manager beardly seemed interested in helping me. He said he would be around for 10 more minutes and after he walked away, I never saw him again and I was there for another hour and a half trying to do a mobile pickup. Just an overall poor and bad experience

From the warm welcome he gave me, his VIP service, showing me where I can wait during installation, and talking me through and showing me how my hitch works... he made it all a wonderful experience. As a woman of a certain age & a mother getting ready to help move her oldest son's stuff from the mid-west, I appreciate the time & patience that Lionel gave me so that I can have the confidence to use the hitch by myself. I'm not sure if I'll be renting a cargo trailer when I'm there (my son can accumulate a lot of stuff) but having the hitch installed and ready to go just in case has given me peace of mind. If I need a trailer, I'm going to UHaul! Again, thank you Lionel J!!!

We were told to pick up truck from parking space but not told the directions for finding the parking space. The key did not work. We had to walk back to the front desk. We were given a new key, We could not complete online assessment of truck when noticed license plate on truck didn’t match one in photo online. I went back to front desk and make rep asked female reps if the customer was sent a new link which was sent, The truck had a dent on for front bumper but the online photo did not show. I disapproved photo and uploaded Live Photo taken of the front bumper appearance with dent in front bumper, Once at the drop off tent, customer service rep had to upload photos of the dent on the front bumper showing the damage to truck before it was rented.
Montonya JacksonMake sure the trucks that are sent out with utility trailers have the capability to pull the trailer up an incline with a load. I waisted money on this rental because I could not get the truck and trailer in and out of the work area. I run a small landscaping business and had my truck and trailer totaled by I reckless driver. While I am waiting for the settlement check I have rented from this location a couple times to finish end of the season work and this situation really hurt my business.

Jasmine BerryMy below average rating is not because of the Lanham location. I feel the staff is friendly, and very helpful. The equipment is readily available and maintained. My below average rating is based on how I was charged for this rental. I submitted an online truck rental to be used for 7 hours. I scheduled the pick-up for 8a.m. The system automatically calculated the return time to 3p.m. I arrived at the Lanham location to pick up the vehicle before 8a.m. and was the 3rd person in line. I was initially waited on at 8:12a.m. Unfortunately, there were several delays before I actually received the vehicle. I didn't actually take possession of the vehicle until almost 9:00a.m.. The return time on the vehicle did not adjust based on when the vehicle was actually received and accepted. Since the return time did not adjust, I was expected to return it in 6 hours. I returned 7 1/2 hours after accepting, and was charged another full day of usage, safe ride insurance and furniture pad rental. I returned the next day, feeling the additional charges were in error but was told because I didn't return it by 3, I had to pay the additional charges. If you have systems in place to show when the vehicle is accepted, why does the return time not adjust based on requested usage and acceptance times?

Also, unable to use the U-HAUL app at location to complete equipment return. No cell service outside of building.

Kia PerryMy overall experience was excellent. My two preferences are, I wish the units were accessible beyond 10PM and, there was a ramp to the 2nd level. I had to take items up a flight of stairs for both of my units. So try to request a bottom floor unit if possible. Staff were wonderful to work with and they all were very pleasant.

I waited in line for almost 30 minutes because she could not find a Uhaul at the destination town of the previous client. after multiple calls and help from other employees she finally completed that contract for that client. I was next with her because the person ahead was called by another attendant. she did not even greet me or appologize for me waiting in line because of her ineptitude, which a normal customer service person would do.. She showed no care, not customer service skills. I would not hire such an insolent person to work in my business. The Uhaul location and equipments are ok and I am a frequent user of Uhaul equipements. Other attendants at this location and others are very friendly and nice, but my experience with that lady was not Good. Thank you

Gilles BergeronThe office closed early, I arrived at 7:02 pm and the office was totally shutdown. The window shutters were pulled and a huge uhaul van parked in front of the door. The representative was setting outside in a car talking to someone. I had to use the after hours features on the app. Which worked okay, however there was no sign of the key drop off box. I searched the property for 1 hour looking for the box. I then noticed the uhaul representative walking to her car and driving off without saying a word. She was there the whole time and never offered to assist me. I called the help desk and a wonderful representative assisted me. I must say that is not a good look for a company as large as Uhaul. My experience was not the best, but I was able to accomplish what I needed done. Thanks for checking!

My payments were due on the 26th. I was told if am moving out on the first l should be fine with the July payment already made. August first l got a truck from Uhaul to move my stuff. Instead of the staff l talked to, closing the storage account, they didn’t and l got multiple emails about payment when l already addressed that before move. That was not acceptable.

At 7pm, I was told the garage doors were locked going to be locked and I would have to enter through a single door. That is devastating news to a person who is paying movers by the hour. Additionally, the entryway was blocked due to auction waste. The staff cleared just enough for us to access the door, but the rest of the waste was left for us to navigate. It was disgusting. I have the pics to prove it, and I have the pic of the associate locking the door in my face, when she could of easily let me slide one more load through the garage door, before she locked it. Poor condition, poor service and unclean environment.

Also, location of the unit in proximity to the loading dock was dicey; go down one row, turn right, go down another row to get to unit. Not easy (tiring) when you have physical mobility issues. Overall the storage area is cleaner/nicer than Public Storage I have used in the past.

Some staff members will tell you one thing Olof their policy and the same day another member will tell you I something different for the same question. I complained about roaches being in my unit and you will even see them crawling down the hall. I was told that I should have gotten the insurance from them and possibly it would cover the expenses of getting pest control. Later I went to my unit and it was full of rodent droppings. Some of my items are ruined. The previous staff when I first moved into the unit was wonderful and very helpful, they did not mind explaining things. The staff now seems to not care about the customers or their belongings. The 24 hour access i paid monthly for did not get me the access. One one day the doors were open and the next day they were locked and the card will keep denying you to get in. Not convenient at all. There seem to be a lot of staff turnover and no consistency in the policies either. I am very disappointed with my rental

When I first arrived in the office the clerk ignored my showing him, on my phone, my reservations and only did the small items. I had to return and ask for management to have the storage portion, main portion, completed. This unit is not satisfactory because as told I have few but extremely heavy items. The stairs will cost me more to have my items moved when that time comes. There was a lack of knowledge from management and employee were not willing to share their knowledge to make sure all ran well, no teams work. This reflects on the employees more than the manager who is new.

It would be best to take one of her staff members to put them in place of managing vs the current manager who goes by the name of D. Also, I spoke with a few others who are renting units at this location and they complained about mice on the first floor. My unit was on the second floor and I did not have any issues with mice. However, I did see a mouse on the first floor.

I informed the front desk staff who was incompetent, rude and unprofessional. Ebony was eating and seemed completely disinterested during my visit. Needless, to say I will never use Uhaul storage, nor will I recommend your company to anyone. Awful experience and extremely disappointing.

Bobby Jones | Overall ExperienceAt 1st I've made reservation to get the storage as well u-haul truck but when I arrived at the storage a young lady was helping me and never finished the processed regarding to have the key for the storage but gave me the car key for the track, however when I came back another young lady was helping me but couldn't find my info & it took her almost half an hour or maybe more to do the process so I can get the storage key & my time was limited at the time & both us was frustrated but the young man with the dreads who was doing almost everything going in the storage was helpful but not the ladies & as of community leader I was late 2do community work, in the end I was happy it was over & the purpose of reservation is to have everything done before arrival & that didn't happen & I was told a limited time to return the truck, so pls take care of the matters & hoping u all well in this very difficult time thx

As I approached, she paused her conversation and though she asked how can she help, I since she was not very much into customer service. Why do I say that? When I asked about prices and space sizes, she simply pointed from a seated position rather that getting up and directing me. After signing the agreement, she handed me my paper and gave me unclear directions as to where my storage room was located. Most of all, she didn't explain to me that I need the access card to get into the building. I actually didn't notice the access card till she caught my attention as I was walking away and she said I needed it to get into the storage area. It took me a while to find my storage locker and when I returned to ask about rather there were elevators in the facility, she paused a cell phone conversation and gave me the look of, "now what does he want?" She could have explained from the beginning that my locker was on the second level and there were no elevators or ramps to get there, only stairs.
mark coulter | First ImpressionsThe registration agent at the facility rude and dismissive and the employee that was on staff w/ her first 7 minutes of my intake was spent trying to tell her that I wasn't there to pick up a truck. She refused to except information from my registration for the storage space, after an exhausting 7 minutes we began the process to secure my space. We get to the space there's a green tag on the door I cut the tag a deafening sound blared over for 3 mins. Now we make it back to the truck while we are off loading a staff member comes thru not once but three (3) times(each time he came through he found something laugh about or make a commit) to to tell us the large sliding door will lock at 7 and all moving will be thru the small door. This was undeniably unreasonable request that brought on a toxic level of stress to beat the clock. We did just that packed the unit wrestler the required lock we were forced to purchase despite the fact we came w/a lock for the unit. What if we didn't have the money to support the forced purchase. You are dealing with induvial that are in tight situations make quick move under direst to force people to purchase a lock that truly doesn't properly fit the unit it took two people to close the unit one to fit the small facing into the hole and force the key to close and the other to level the door so that the lock fits yet another example of unnecessary stress added when dealing with the facility. So we are done, unit is closed then we remembered we needed to get an item . We unlock the unit that deafening sounds starts and never stops, we scrambled to find the item the was sound blaring it distorted us we couldn't think after leaving the facility we had head pain that was unbelievable. It was a horrible experience to say the least from start to finish.
