Brayden FirlotteWorst experience I have ever had and I used to work in car rentals so I get how things work. But the sheer passive behavior of the assistant manager and other employees when concerns were brought to their attention was appalling. The only time they ever showed any enthusiasm and commitment was to argue not to reimburse money back for things that were clearly caught on video recording by myself. It was not just myself, other customers attending before and after me had the exact same experience and the staff continued to ban together and argue the same errors they had made. Errors. Inability to hold money on CC card and then blaming customer for the card issue against banking operator confirming otherwise. 3/3 customers noticing that the fuel was marked on documents at a higher level than the actual gauge in the vehicle was reading... Staff argued and refused to reimburse for this.. one man said that his rental day plans were thrown off because the vehicle had a 10th of gas at the time of rental... Staff unapologetically argued that the fuel was at a higher level (1/8) until the man forced them to look at the rental. They then argued that the any additional fuel brought back was not their problem. The same thing happened to me and the initial rental agent (assistant manager) advised that the rental would be discounted upon return. Obviously, this was a lie and I was met with harsh argumentative behavior from "Simarjot" & "Ankush" The customer isn't always right but videos and photos never lie. It is simply amazing that this place has empowered it's lazy and rude employees to behave in a manor where they are bold enough to try and steal money from customers. Don't blame the employees, blame the organization for enabling and encouraging staff to behave like this. Never go here!!!!

ALPHONSE MWAMBAI reserved a dolly and was not provided it. At pick up it was confirmed i was getting a dolly. But was suprised when it was not on the truck. When i called in and spoke to an employee and assistant manager. I was given the option to take on the cost of fuel and km to pick up dolly in another city or not have one.

gabriella kardosiYou really need a specific designated area for customer parking. There are 4-5 spots right inside the property. I parked there. I received a phone call after I was an hour away telling me to come and move my car. Are you kidding? There’s no NO PARKING sign there and it looks like the most legitimate place to park. It needs to be marked clearly.
Sean McCallumI was NOT told by the person who rented to me that the mobile app is “often problematic”. This is how a uhaul employee from the United States referred to the app after I begged her to call me after chatting with her in the chat for more than 30 minutes. It took me an hour to get through picking up the vehicle because of the issues with the app, and the net result was that I missed the ferry I was scheduled to take and had to pay additional money to travel to Vancouver Island. Once we could get through the app and we opened the cargo door the 2 sets of moving pads that I had ordered were not there and we had to go purchase some from Home Depot. Uhaul charged me for the moving pads and needs to reimburse me for this. Uhaul ought to either have a Canadian version of their app or inform Canadians renting from them that they will need to enter their driver’s license as an “international” license into the app or the app will not accept it. When scanning the back of my license (more than 30 attempts) the app refuses to recognize it even though it indicated it could obtain the barcode. I cannot quantify the anxiety this created for me and those there with me. I believe that Uhaul owes me the $9 and tax for the pads it charged me for and did not supply and also my ferry cost one way ($125.25) for the delay in being able to obtain the truck because of the issues with the app. I would never rent using the mobile app ever again and I will not be renting from this location again unless I receive a credit for the missing pads and some kind of good will compensation for the hour of delay in picking up the truck.

I actually don’t even fill out these types of surveys, but did so in this event because it was that good. Highly recommend these employees. I hope you recognize them for their efforts.

Josh SaundersThe trailer was not ready for pickup, I had to play musical trailers in order to access the one I was assigned. Further, the trailer had a complete flat tire that required changing using my own vehicle to allow that to happen. That being said - the staff were very helpful, they assisted and were very courteous through the whole procedure. It left me only running an hour behind schedule.

Taylor DuttonI was told that I could come in after hours due to my circumstances. The representative never one time mentioned an “after hours service charge” of 20.00. I filled the tank back up to exactly where it was when I took the vehicle but got charged an extra 12.00 and change. Not only that but the representative also gave me a completely backwards direction for the code access to open the gate. Luckily I found out the right way from the evening service guy who happened to be there before I took the truck. The gas and after hours charge sounds like a scam.

Harpreet KheraThe truck was not running well. I had the insurance thank goodness. Upon picking up the truck the furniture and appliance dollies I pre ordered were not available which made moving the washer and dryer and entertainment unit more difficult for the movers. I was supplied with a utility dolly from another truck. I thought I had everything planned properly but it didn't work out the way I hoped. Was told the pre authorization was not actually taking a payment but only to confirm the card number. I was told I only pay upon returning the vehicle. I was at a gas station on the way to take my brother home when my card didn't work and we had to wait for a friend to come to buy gas for me. I had 200 on my visa which was going to cover the 186.90 that I planned for from the online reservation. Because of the 231 charged, it caused an overdraft fee of $25. I was able to discuss what happened with the clerk upon returning the truck and she didn't charge me for the packing blankets or the utility dolly to save me 20 dollars. I was hoping for 25 to make up for the overdraft charge. I would like to say I am still very grateful for U-Haul as it is the only option I could find within my budget. I am extremely happy with the movers hired through the platform. The men were extremely organized and packed the truck so well that the movers unloaded everything in less than an hour on the second day of the truck reservation at the storage location.

We had rented some moving blankets with our order, when we went to go pick them up the attendant didn't understand what we'd ordered and told my husband to grab some blankets that were on the counter. When we went to go return them, we were told that these blankets were not for rent and were only purchasable - so we were charged for 2 blankets we never wanted, plus the charge for the blanket rental for 2 days.

Gurpreet DhillonWe reserved a 10ft truck 2 weeks prior. Our pick up was for 10am. We had booked our elevator at our condo and paid a non refundable $200 to our strata to use the elevator for only a few hours. We got to this U-Haul at 9:45 and waited for our truck. We were told that the truck should be arriving in 5-6min. The truck was not available even after 30min of waiting. We were offered a cargo van which would not fit our stuff unless we loaded and unloaded multiple times and disassembled our furniture. We didn’t have enough time to do all this and it was raining all day. So not only did we have to do multiple trips that took our time, we also wasted time taking our stuff apart. We weren’t able to use the booked elevator as we were busy hauling back and forth in the rain. What is the point of reservations? We were offered a credit which was fine but for the amount of trouble and hassle we went through, we would’ve gladly paid full price for the truck we reserved. We are now still hauling our belongings with our small car as we do not want to deal with this U-Haul ever. This was absolutely unacceptable

jonathan hansonThe location only has 15 minute parking. So if I'm renting for a short haul, there's no place to leave my car. The fee per kilometer is too expensive for short-time rentals (i paid more than double of what I paid with Home Depot for a 2-hour rental). So for short hauls I will definitely recommend Home Depot over UHaul.

Downside, not the locations fault: Moving from Coquitlam to Kelowna, one day before moving, in moving stress already, I received a phone call from Uhaul that I have to pick up the truck not in Coquitlam as reserved but in Langley, which is a 45 min to Langley and 45 min back drive away, which did cost me 85, CAD bucks for a taxi + the trucks gasoline driving it from Langley to Coquitlam, which I have not been reembursed for. + 1 1/2 our of my time. All in all a damage of 200,- CAD. caused by Uhaul + plus the additional stress and risk and responsibility of now had to pick up the truck the evening before moving and also park the truck somewhere overnight. Not happy at all.

Rental equipment, IE furniture dolly was not available just like last time and had to settle with a utility dolly which made the move more difficult.

The last change I didn’t get any notification whatsoever and only noticed because it was changed on my account. Having the location changed resulted in me having to drive an extra 40km which they still charged me for.

BERNARD VANSPRONSENMoving equipment that was reserved online was not provided as your website promised. Staff simply said "tough luck" and I had to improvise, adding significant challenges to our moving plans. If the equipment is unavailable, the location should communicate this ahead of time instead of saying "oh, sorry, we don't actually have anything" when the customer shows up. I had to search the whole yard for the truck because the staff didn't tell me where it was. The returns guy was nice. Everyone else there was professional, but very unhelpful and impolite. This location has made me strongly reconsider using U-Haul at all in the future.

It is.in my opinion fraud to keep my December payment which you insist must be on VISA ...AND also rent the same unit right away to another party. YOU are getting paid twice for the same month !!!!! Where the low rating applies is for the arguing we had to do and the phone call we needed to make to head office to file a complaint for the issue of our free month's storage. We were told in August that if we let them know of a truck or trailer rental that we would receive a month's storage. When we tried numerous times, we were redirected and redirected so that eventually we ended up paying for our extra month. It was only AFTER we called head office and filed a complaint (Melissa was very understanding and helpful), that the manager got involved and issued us a full refund of our month. We were very disappointed with the whole experience, as the people at your Langley location were not willing to work with us, nor contact a manager to help resolve the situation.
Barbara Niwa | Overall ExperienceDue to the entrance gate to the storage units always being open, I feel that the storage area is not a secured area anymore. There have been multiple times that have entered into the area with no staff around to see me or anyone else while using storage units. My lock I puchased at U-Haul now has a drilled hole at the bottom of it. I checked a few locks around me and they also have drilled holes. Who and why was this done?? I went inside office to look at packaged locks and there is no drilled holes at the bottom. This is unacceptable and shady! I would like an explanation and and a new lock. Thank you.

You guys will find out from other customers because a lot of customers are leaving. Nothing more to say.

When I phoned into the main switchboard and reserved a unit for a move in date 7 days later I was not told that I had to go to the uHaul location right away to complete the paperwork. I was contacted the next day by the location and was asked to confirm if I wanted the unit and to come in and complete the paperwork and if don’t they will give my unit away to anyone who walks in as it’s first come first serve. To me that does not make sense the whole point of reserving is that it’s yours until the day of move in. What if I was coming in from out of town and was not able to complete the paperwork right away I would have lost the unit. That needs to be clarified by the main switchboard that even though you reserved the unit you still need to go in and complete the paperwork in order to secure it.

The minute you call you're put on hold and forgot about for 20-30 minutes and either hung up on or a staff member just saying um ok and not dealing with the issue. The manager is the same way with no compassion or anything. It took over a week and me getting mad to deal with my issue. I had to go to head office for the langley staff to even do anything. No one wanted to hear about my issue and kept putting me on hold or hanging up on me. Just seems like no over there cares and just shrugs it off, even the manager.

Due to my medical condition I was not able to move my belongings. A friend drop the key off at the office for my mover to access my locker. When the mover got to the office they couldn’t find the key but happily let him cut the lock.They even supplied the tool I would’ve been happy to give my permission If they had called me, after all how did they know who he was. To add insult to injury they charged me a $50 lock removal fee

The front desk person acknowledged my comments and said they would send a employee to check it. Subsequently I wrote an email advising the manager, Tina Pender that the storage was no longer required. Yesterday I got a call from U-Haul advising that my rent was 3 days late. That is poor service.

As a Senior Move Management company, I rent lockers on a regular basis for my clients. If we were given a reduced rate I would be more inclined to rent one or two long term for my clients usage.

I asked where was the unit located and got the answer "I think building 1". When I finally found the unit there was a lock already on the door. I went back to the office and asked about it to the same employee he just looked at me. I said it looks like one of u-hauls locks maybe. He then said well yes I put it there. I had to then ask how do we get it removed, he said well I guess I could go out there in a bit. I left the office and saw he left by another door and was ahead of me. The unit was clean but to have a light bulb in there would be nice. :(

I had rented 30 foot Rv spot for my trailer with the idea of fitting a second trailer there at some point 17 months later i realized upon buying a second trailer that my actual spot was 17 feet when i brought this to the managers attention she did not seem to take action after two weeks i spoke with her again only to be told that she can evict me at anytime and that if i am unsatisfied i should take my business elsewhere which i did the new manager was very helpful and i was refunded the difference that i over paid for the last 17 months i should also point out the front desk staff are kind and helpful the only bad apple there was tina but thankful now she is gone no future clients have to deal with her bad attitude.

That there were 2 units available right now and I could only have it if I took it RIGHT NOW. I explained that I needed it for 1 month from May 1st as we had rented a 15ft truck with 2 bedrooms of furniture and were moving from the States to Canada.. We needed it for 1 mth while we were quarantined for 2 weeks on arrival, as per the new Covid Health laws. The staff insisted we had to book the truck from yesterday and if we we late moving our furniture out after May 13th that they would give us a couple of days grace. This is a HORRIBLE situation and we don't know what to do about it. We need storage from May 1st to May31st!!!

Came back a few days later and I didn’t realize what time it was and phone was in car outside and my girlfriend and I were just organizing our storage locker and we lost track of time. It was around 11pm(10pm is closing time)when we finished and I didn’t think anything of it. So we locked it up and closed the door. Got in my car to drive out and tried my code numerous times and it wouldn’t work then we called uhaul phone number provided on google maps and it took an hr to get the gate opened. Finally the staff got it opened and we went home to bed. Next time we went was a few days later and my code didn’t work and it was locked I got punished with a only during store hrs access. That sucked for us cause we both work long hrs and have kids. I tried to talk to manager and she was rude, short and unprofessional with very poor customer service and she wouldn’t bug on the rules. A few more days go by and there was another lock on my locker provided by the manager for apparently smoking and leaving garbage. I called she was rude, short and unprofessional. But also kicked me out with 48hrs notice. Before the end of the month. So now we have to find another place to store stuff for 7 days till we move not very helpful to our already busy schedule. It has really put us in a bind financially and a waste of our time. 1 mistake and 1 cigarette but in the hallway near the door to exit the building and we get evicted. In my opinion this was all due to horrible customer service and a grumpy manager.
