Just keep up the good work at this location thay do an excellent job and Andy Baker is an excellent general manager uhaul did an excellent job in getting him at that location as a GM thank you I will be the next time I have to move and I will recommend this location to all of my friends and family

Elevator are way to small

It was backed in behind another truck and the directions given to me were “it’s down to the left” wtf kind of service is that? Every other time I’ve used u haul they put the equipment in the back and pull the truck up for you. Not these girls, though! They were busy complaining about being tired and how some guy had a good night last night. Not really things you should talk about in front of customers.
Chase PFriendly service. Did not try and sell me things that I didn’t need, which was great as a first time renter. Told me about the free month of storage promotion. Was forthcoming about any potential wear items on the trailer we rented. Offered advice on loading/unloading the vehicle from the trailer. Inside the lobby was very clean as well. A+

CHARLES WUpon returning the equipment, I went to the Uhaul app to check the trailer back in. Turns out there is no clearly marked way to return your equipment in the app. No other ways of checking in are given besides the app, paperwork doesn’t mention the Uhaul website. I wouldn’t complain except I was charged an extra $20 for not checking it in myself. Seems quite ridiculous to charge someone extra money for a service they are supposed to be able to do but isn’t explained. Thankfully you have an amazing team at the Prarie View road location here in Kansas City that took the time to help me figure everything out

terry d | Overall ExperienceAwful experience. We won’t use U-Haul anymore after this. We booked our rental 2 weeks in advance. Less than 24hrs before pickup time, they called to say they wouldn’t have a truck available at our location and we would have to pickup 20+ minutes away. When we arrived at said new location, they told my husband they also didn’t have a dolly for us…which was part of our rental. They claimed we checked a box agreeing that we’d receive a call by 5pm the day before to confirm the rental items would be available. Due to this, we’re not eligible for any compensation for this “inconvenience” because they called us at 4:30. They claimed they didn’t have the vehicle or dolly we needed because it was a “busy rental weekend”. When we mentioned that we made this reservation over 2 weeks ago, they said local driving is booked the day before (?)…so how did we have a reservation for them to “call to confirm” if we can’t book until the day before? When we asked why they wouldn’t plan ahead to have our truck at the correct location when booking 2 week ahead, they said they don’t drive the trucks…it’s dependent on where the renters drop off… I couldn’t find anything in their renter’s agreement or anywhere else that confirms what they said about the apparent box we checked. Even if this is true and that truly is the policy, it’s a terrible one that really doesn’t produce a positive experience for a customer. Moves are planned far in advance. To not have the equipment and find that out the night before is highly inconvenient. Unless you can rectify this with a refund, we’ll continue with leaving this similar review on all platforms as, thus far, they have been completely unwilling to work with us and absolutely did not meet our needs.

Henry PDrop off location in KC was top notch...the GM there helped with my paperwork as there were a couple missing pieces needed.
Jerry HCouldn’t get the large door to open automatically to wheel my items in. Had to gain access through a large bulky door and hold it open while I pushed the cart in. Really not convenient and made the move twice as hard. Additionally, there were three carts available and they were in use by one family. So, it took longer, again, to move than expected. Not a good experience, so far.
Nicholas P | Online Move InI ran into an issue with the truck and then later with billing, and the rep handled the issues like a pro and even made it right with a small, but meaningful, discount. Stuff happens, but I was very satisfied with how the staff handled it.
Nicholas ACheck trailers for leaks. All my belongings got wet. The purpose of renting the enclosed trailer was to keep my stuff dry. Staff was courteous and got us in and out quickly.
Jayne SWas told 3/4 of a tank and I got to the truck I had 5/8 tank. I told the one employee that had came out and he was its just a little under no big deal. I said really and he was hey to another employee and took off. They also placed my move at 188 miles when it was 12 miles from the pickup to move house. Then 191 to new house. Then 15 to drop off. I was 37 miles over and was going to becharged for it at $1 a mile. My drop off disputed it and got me taken care of.

Roland FI missed the part in the confirmation email to expect up to 3 hours and he didn't realize I was waiting so there was a little frustration at the beginning from both of us. He was respectful and helpful through it all though. Thankfully they didn't have a lot of business this particular morning so he was able to finish in 1 hour. My only suggestions for improvement is to make it more evident to the staff that the appt is wait vs dropoff. And when the confirmation text is sent to the customer, use that dropoff/wait flag to determine what wording is used. I had also received a phone call confirming the reservation and they didn't mention the time frame either.

I, also, noticed the mileage had been padded. The young lady with enough shrapnel jewelry in her face to scare any child didn’t understand my eyes don’t lie and wanted pictures to prove my claim. I was humiliated and embarrassed. I won’t be back.

Second, the person helping us was very accommodating, but could not provide us with a unit to put our belongings in. The elevator is way to small for people to use with sofas and larger objects. This should be made aware when checking into location by staff.

Seriously I had a rental car and had now to rent a truck she was preparing to leave work and heard of my dilemma and offered to drive to airport so I could drop off car and take truck as it was only me. She IS such an incredible team member of U-Haul. She even extended her kind help as my bins were taken from the trucking company I ordered and they left the furniture. I was in shock and distraught Victoria helped me with the police and my banking where my money was taken. She made certain I was in a safe placed hotel. Suggesting I had not processes this stuff yet to sleep on it and drive during the day light. I am so glad I did as I had forgotten my luggage at the front desk of hotel lobby~ it was only when I went to change into my pajamas the I realized I had left my luggage down at front desk. Victoria also lent me a phone charger as I had forgot to bring one with me. Victoria is a kind, considerate, outstanding human being to have taken on such a huge selfless act of dedication to human kindness ~ humanity! Thank you Victoria!! I was in such a place to where help was needed so badly. I can not even begin to know how to express my gratitude !! Just know I’m doused in gratitude! Much love to this beautiful soul!! Denise AThe app did not work at all. I had chosen the mobile option and tried several time to start the rental and ended up having to go to the staff inside and redo all of it again. Tried to return the truck and same thing, staff had to come and do the return for me. Staff were helpful, though I had to go all the way to the back of the property to get my truck, would have liked the truck to have been up front for me. Quarter tank of gas...seriously?
amanda hI was assigned a truck with an unacceptable tire sidewall gash. Several hours later had a different truck from a separate location whose windshield washer didn't work. The return location said this should have also disqualified this truck. I drove it 2000 miles through alot of mountains and it was very not ideal.

Julia OThe U Haul app is not always reliable. If the app is being pushed and customers are being penalized for not using electronic means (app) to return equipment, the app should be optimized so that is is working at its best.

KEVIN SMs. Lillie checked me in for my uhaul truck rental and she was superb! She was friendly and professional, a great balance! She was informative and helpful which made the truck rental process seamless! I have used this location multiple times, and I have yet to receive poor service. They have created in me a RAVING FAN! There were two other folks with her, that did not assist me personally, but greeted me, and were just as friendly and welcoming as Lillie. In closing, let me add, that my arrival time was near closing, and still they gave me supreme customer service, answering thoroughly all of my questions, and never rushing me. Respectfully,

I lost an hour of a very busy moving day due to your online check in .I was forced to pick the truck up at a different location because I was unable to pick up the truck via the online check in. We had people waiting at my home to help with the move. They had to wait because of YOU.I would have gladly have input my drivers license before but your system wouldn't allow me to until I was at the pickup location. This is fact. I did not download the app nor should I have to. I was on the web version. Each of the 17 times that I attempted to upload my pictures the page would send me back to the beginning. It was TERRIBLE. I will never use UHaul again. Also - The truck was supposed to have been discounted to $29.99. Add 50 miles. I wouldn't have had to drive 50 miles but since I had to go out of my way to a different location from where I had reserved the truck from that added roughly 15 miles onto the truck. Add 30 for gas because it was so late in the day that I simply did not have time to get gas. If I would have had the hour (and a half if you add the time that it took me to drive to another Uhaul location and get another truck) I would have been able to put the 1/4 tank of gas in. I ended up paying $153. I'm doing the math here and it simply doesn't make sense. Your service is awful. The only saving grace was the woman at the Prairie View location who was able to empathize with me and make me feel better. UHAUL SUCKS is my new mantra. My son is moving next month. We will be using another truck rental company.
Mary PI will use this location again bc it is convenient. However, I was given the truck on empty and told it was 1/8. I took a picture and I had to go straight to the gas station because I was worried I would run out of gas. I had to put $20 in it to even get it close to 1/4. I did get a $9 fuel discount. The signage is confusing for pickup vs returning. I said no to the equipment being clean and well-maintained, it was clean, but the gas situation. made me say no. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience, I was absolutely frustrated with the gas situation and felt blown off when I asked and was told we don’t keep gas in the truck.Smh
Lori HWell I have a storage unit there and I needed to move some stuff from another storage unit across town, How convenient to get a little 10" truck pick up and drop off. This place is now my Go to Rental shop
Mark HThe customer service at this location was awful. It took an hour to pick up the truck. They blamed it on the slow computer system. But managed to check out five other people while they were working on mine. They kept going back-and-forth between customers instead of just finishing with the custom they were helping. And then the license tag didn’t match but they had sent me. And instead of taking care of it. They went outside and started cleaning a U-Haul that was in the parking lot. And told me that I would have to wait because there were only two of them there.

I started the truck and when I got out of the vehicle the door shut but locked automatically. I didn’t understand it but I called and they came to help me they were there and a half an hour. The first time that the door locked automatically and I didn’t understand it but you were there to help and I think you with all my heart.

The staff outside of him were professional though. I honestly hate that I chose that location and uhaul all together for my storage. I may not have ended my terms with them in the best manor but honestly after the process I had with them followed with the grand finally unprofessional conversation (or lack of) that I had with the manager, I was sadly just over it in total. I will say that the facility as far as the units were clean and again the staff were professional once you did get them on the phone but thinking of the manager and his conduct frustrates me till this moment.
