DAVID RStaff at this location was very friendly/helpful. The trailer functioned, but it's a real pain in the a$% that there is no trailer jack. Not sure who thought that was a smart idea. I guess the company would rather have their employees struggle to lift the tongue of the trailer onto the ball instead. Seems like a work injury waiting to happen. Also, the adjustment chains on the tailgate were welded so that they in fact do not adjust. If you wanted to lower the tailgate to the ground to wheel something on, forget about it. All in all, great people, horrible company decisions.

I feel it so un fair and never told this so my bill was over 415 where I could of save 100.00 so someone please look in to that but the rest of the renting was good thank you k weidow

marilyn l | First ImpressionsTruck was reserved for Saturday in Johnson City, 2 days before pick up the pick up location was changed to Binghamton, went to Binghamton Saturday morning , the staff informed me the truck was not available, customer never returned it, but they said I will receive $50.00, really don’t care about the Money, I was very frustrated, had people at the house ready to help move, no truck available, Jason Thomas that works at the Binghamton uhaul was on the phone trying to locate a truck, he eventually found one 20 miles away, he went and picked it up for me and dropped it in the Johnson city location, which is very near the house, he was very helpful and turned a negative situation into a positive one, I was only 2 hours behind schedule, I’m aware it’s the customer fault for not returning the rental truck on time, and I dropped it off In Johnson City, and the female that was dealing with me was friendly and knowledgeable, a pleasure to deal with.

Frank B | Overall ExperienceUpon returning the vehicle and trailer I was greeted by the rudest, most unprofessional CSR I’ve ever experienced. I pull in to the return lane, she comes out and I say ”Hey, have a return.” Response was “You should answer your phones.” I then ask “Why, did someone from here call me?” Response of “All day”. Check my phone, zero calls. Wife’s phone. Zero calls. Communicate that to her, attitude heavy response was “not my problem”. After that, she starts scanning in the truck and I hear “oh, he’s a different customer”. Because of course I was mistaken for someone abusing the rental terms. A very off put, rude apology was offered, she closed out the rental and after I’d been insulted by this CSR, I walked away. Unbelievably bad customer service skills, regardless if I was the offending customer or not. Will not use this location ever again.

JUDY C | Overall ExperienceI was a first time u-Haul renter the equipment the truck and the request to rent went very smoothly. However, I feel that I was given no guidance or expectations upfront. I was told that if I needed extra time all I had to do is request it and when I did, it was denied because the rental is already rented out causing distress for not only myself, but the next renter in line. Also, I was unaware of any of the charges or fees. For gas, late fees etc. I fully take responsibility for not reading the rental agreement as I should have but I feel that I should have at least been gone over the basics upon picking up the vehicle. I will know for next time and may or may not use U-Haul again.

The associate lied on a recorded line and said that I would not be charged if I moved out before the first and when I went there to retrieve my belongings there was a secondary lock on my unit. Then when I confrnted them about it they played dumb saying that they could pull the audio recording. That forced me to have to pay to get my things when it was already stated that I wouldn't have to. To this day I haven't received a call back. If I don't hear anything back from them today I will dispute this with my credit card. DON'T LIE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!

After waiting a few hours for a customer to move out, I was accommodated with a storage unit that was bigger but will cost me 73% more than the original reservation. The general manager of U-Haul Moving & Storage Of Johnson City was great and as accommodating as he could be. U-Haul's system, however, is poor.

So it was impossible to get ahold of the local office to cancel. I was FORCED to go to the local office to cancel - which I did not appreciate. Once there is was good though. Fix the phone issue.

I assume you watched us move? Like the security but I thought it was to keep storage items safe not use it to maximize your rental income.

My dealings with U-Haul's reservation center and the local U-Haul operator that checked out my truck's electricals at the origination point of my trip were very poor. I was not notified that the doors were going to be changed and only found out they were afterwards when I visited my storage unit and couldn’t get in because the locks were also changed. There was no consideration for my best interest and it was quite evident that very little care had been taken to protect and preserve my belongings. When I tried to speak with the manager about it he said that a third party had installed the doors and that there’s nothing he can do about it.

When I arrived they told me that the call center overbooked and the unit was no longer available and that the student rate was only for the month of March (I was promised in April). They ended up waving the first month, but I ended up having to get a bigger unit and paying $15 extra per month. The people at the facility were very nice, but I'm annoyed that the call center didn't seem to know what was going on.
