Mario ClavelI was rented a 26-ft truck for a cross country move that had seemingly never been serviced. The alignment was so bad it pulled to both the left and right, unpredictably, and without anything to prompt it like breaking or acceleration. The break lines had air in them causing the pedal to be very spongy. The break pads were worn out when it was delivered to me. One headlight lamp was almost burned out and nonfunctional, making night and inclement driving very unsafe. And finally, the fuel cap didn’t properly seal, causing it to leak.

john binksIf you want to be in and out quick go elsewhere. The guy trying to help was so new he didn’t know what to do and took like 40-50 mins to rent a utility trailer. There was another customer that needed his free lock for his storage unit and the guy just responded with “well come back later or tomorrow since my manager isn’t here.” That customer was not happy to say the least. In the end I used the trailer for about 30 mins and it took me probably another 40 mins to return the trailer. I had to go in two times to attempt to get someone to help. There were three people inside doing nothing, 1 guy helping customers and another just mopping the back of a U-Haul box truck. Even after I went in to get someone to help I was directed to find the guy who was mopping the box truck and drove it away. Needless to say I could have trained myself faster to run the system and check myself out. If you plan on doing anything at this location be there at least an hour before hand and even earlier if you have to be somewhere afterward.

Called the location to see if I could get a refund and she told me her GM would be in the location in 5 days (a Tuesday) never received a call. When I called she was rude on the phone and could care less about what I had to say. This isn't the first time I've ran into issues at this location definitely won't be returning

Matthew TurnbowI would not recommend this location nor will I ever use this location. Never have I been treated more poorly. The manager of this location was rude, disrespectful, and belittling. I was not able to contact this location on the phone to make reservations so I made them over the phone with a U-Haul representative. I gave the representative make and model of vehicle that was used to pick up the car hauler. I was told to bring a receiver hitch with a 2” ball. When I picked up the rental I was told I could not take the rental unless I purchased a hitch and ball from this location. I genuinely feel I was extorted into purchasing the hitch and ball. I would like to see the U-Haul policy that says a specific hitch and ball are required. I asked the manager about ground clearances and tow requirements. She could not give them to me just kept saying “if you want to take the rental you have to use this hitch”. If this is truly a policy it should be made clear prior to rental pickup. Even the employee that I communicated with in the pickup yard expressed his for lack of better words fear of this locations manager. I will never have to come in contact with this lady again because I will go to a different location. As for the sake of the employees that work at the u-haul location at 1200 N Main St, Clearfield, UT 84015 I sincerely hope someone looks into and asks the employees about their opinions of manager. I would bet there is a high turnover of employees at the location.

Lisa Carteri feel like giving two stars but they deserve 3 i guess. the only real issue is that when we put our fifth wheel there they never bothered to tell us that within a few short months they would be tearing down the covered storage and forcing us to move to another storage place with only a months notice. it's not easy to find storage for a 40' fifth wheel to begin with much less covered. we couldn't find another place with covered space so it's out in the weather. this is pure greed cause they are replacing the covered rv parking with more warehouse for small lockers which is more profitable. i would not recommend any u haul storage to anyone. they didn't even offer to help their customers locate suitable space for all the rv's and boats stored there.

Really surprised at how rude she was given she was the manager. The guy who helped us hook up the trailer was very nice and helpful though.

deborah LavineWhen we returned the unit, We were met with an almost hostile feeling. They were upset about the fact that there was normal wear and tear on the car dolley as recorded above. We tried to talk with them, even the person in charge and they were curt and told me that I would have to fight with the area person who handles situations like this. I was not happy with the way I was treated at either location. When I rent a car, they walk me around the vehicle and note all of the dings and dents. That was not done when I picked it up so I really cannot say if the cracks were there or not when the unit was picked up but when I returned the unit I was treated like a bad guy and told that the damage would cost me $500+. I would love to talk to someone who with listen and reason with me rather than making me feel like I was the Bad Guy.
mickey adamsMany customers require UHaul for a reason. They are moving. Most are moving banks and investments and may or may not have access to a current credit/debit card. Provisions should be made to accept cash rather than credit.
WALTER LANDMESFERThe ratchet straps should be well greased they worked good tightening down the tires. But trying to release the ratchet was tough
jared fahrniFor as large as the facility is with three floors, there's only one elevator and when there's a ton of people moving on one day it makes it super inconvenient. Also, the pin pad that you swipe your card on is not legible and no one explains to you how to use it anyway so you don't know how to check in or out. Also, when I went to check out from my unit they said that everything was done and taken care of and then four days later I got a phone call saying oh we noticed your unit was empty. Did you check out? Super frustrating when I showed them the pictures and everything and I was returning a U-Haul that I rented that same day as well. I will never use U-Haul storage again as it is very inconvenient and it seems like things are taken care of but they are not. Very frustrating.

Patrick HansenThis has to do with the we site reservation experience, not the drop off location. When reserving for a local move, it is very obvious how much it costs per mile. However, for the one way move, it is not obvious at all that there is a mileage limit and how much extra miles cost. Those details are buried in the contract, not displayed prominently during the reservation process.

paul shaferI had requested 24-hr access and was told I had access by Uhaul office staff member, but I was locked out of building at 10pm. I was in the middle of loading and had both of my storage units wide open and my truck keys inside the locked Uhaul facility. Fortunately another customer was inside to allow me to secure my unit. Then the next morning, the sliding glass doors weren’t functioning so had to use the small door to do all my load transfers, punching my code each time and struggling to navigate the wide heavy carts through the inadequate access. This was at 10am on a weekend! Same trip, I got stuck in the elevator on my last load for 30min on the 3rd floor. (This was on Feb11)

George StrattonAbsolutely Terrible customer service by the GM lady. I had an appointment for 8am to get hitch wiring installed, i was here right on time as instructed yesterday. He said if i get here at 8am they would start right away.. They know I'm sitting here with a 5 year old waiting. I was told 1.5 hour wait by the tech when I made the appointment which was fine. It is now 9am and they still haven't started. I simply asked him when they will get started, I'm then greeted very rudely by the GM who is up on her high horse thinking shes something special, telling me it will now take 3-5 hours and if I have a problem with that I can take my business elsewhere, she also told me not to harrass the tech when i simply asked a question and wasnt rude at all.....Who says that to a waiting customer thats been waiting an hour already with a 8am appointment, a 5 year old and hasn't even started anything. What's the point of an appointment???? I hope she gets fired or demoted, the way she handled the situation was nowhere near GM standards and I'm sure Uhaul as a business doesn't approve the way she represents the company. Looking at all these other reviews it seems that she's a problem for everyone. Hopefully Corporate sees this and handles the situation.

She was wearing a beanie and an attitude that could only be described as skid marks on old mens underwear. Its hard to describe her attributes without mentioning obscenities. I was shocked and stunned to have witnessed the level of pettiness and disrespect from an employee of a company. I drive past this storage unit on my work commute and i will forever spit at the sight of that building. Terrible staff, lazy, rude, entitled and incompetent. As i was walking away from the toxic transaction, she immediately started to talk back to me. I turned around absolutely stunned. I could not believe the argument she was pulling out of her rear. I have no idea what her problem was. If she doesnt get fired i hope at least she gets a$$ cancer. And i mean that with the utmost level of disrespect

Cindy StevensonI took the discount to drive it from clearfield to Provo. It was an extra 30 minutes out of my way. They charged my card for going over the mile limit. The mile limit was almost the exact amount of miles I was allowed and they left absolutely none for the actual moving part. To get to a storage unit, gas etc. The whole reason I got the truck was to move. I wouldn’t have gone out of my way an extra hour, plus my own gas if I would’ve known it was more expensive in the end.

Angelica SantosThe people working in this location struggled with my reservation because I had booked with a dealer and was moved by U-Haul customer service. Checking in took quite a bit of time. The employees were NOT friendly. One of the young women was quite rude about the situation with me having already paid for mattress bags and them somehow not seeing that on their end. She expressed anger towards me when I asked if they could give me the items after proving I had paid for them. I had to show my phone to verify the order and charge. The young woman took my phone from me and did not return it which I realized after leaving the facility so I had to turn around and go back, which added unnecessary miles to the rental. When I called U-Haul to ask if I could return the rental early. I was told yes, as long as I got there before 7 pm, which was closing time. We arrived at 6:33 and were told they stopped taking returns at 6:30, which was inconsistent with what I was told when on the phone with a rep. Aside from the truck being in fine condition, this was not a pleasant experience and I would NOT recommend this location to others.

The employees were putting equipment away and wanting to go home, obviously i show up late cause I was coming from out of state and stuck in traffic, I ask if they can do it in person. She said YES I would love to. I felt great honor to do business with this type of company that has employees, who are willing of going the extra mile for a common person like me. JEFF CANNONI made this appointment days in advance. The first truck they tried to give me would not start and I didn't leave until 45minutes after my appointment time. Sadly this is my experience every time I get a rental truck. It's never ready to go when I show up on time.

They were very unfriendly, and when I asked what he needed to do to move out, They told me and I old them that I would be out by then. They were rude and obnoxious to my boyfriend and I when we went right before Thanksgiving . The girls didn’t even put any Notes and it took forever for them to help us. they were busy talking to one another and blowing us off. Where as I went to a different Uhaul location and I had a more friendly experience.

Seandia Tribett | Overall Experiencecalled to check on abailable space for our 37' fifth wheel travel trailer. it hasn't been easy to find anything large enough but they had just what i needed avail. and reserving it was easy. only took a couple of mins. when we arrived we had to wait a few minutes for an associate to become avail but not bad. in and out in 20 mins. ez access with a remote instead of punching in a code which i find convenient. price is about what i expected for a covered spot. we moved here last oct from california and the only spot we could find was on private property in a field where it was exposed to the weather. so this is a nice upgrade for $50 more per month.

In my opinion management is very poor quality.

It was not till I went to check in that I found out that they did not have any on the first or second floor. The only one available was on the third or I had to take a 10x5x10 and 10x10x10 on the second. This was also meet with the additional cost, because the second and third floor were climate controlled. So not only did I find out that my reservation was not honored but it was going to cost more. The staff was friendly enough, but offered no real solution than the second or third floor at the higher cost. This is why I would rate poorly and would not recommend. Suprise costs and not honoring reservation are not positive signs or good customer practices. I did get a free month, but that was because of a promotion since a had a previous confirmation code from a different uhaul and it was done online.

Like the covid-19, clearfield location has adjusted it placements of the interior so that customers can still maintain 6ft status. Employees wore masks everywhere. I even saw there mandatory routine of disinfecting vehicles and storefront. I will say to any one anywhere. If you need simple as moving supplies boxes clearfield, dollies, to hitches clearfield, propane clearfield, all the way to trailers, trucks, box trucks ranging from 10ft to 26ft clearfield. Also open to closed trailers clearfield. And now there new gigantic storage three level ready security access 24/7 facility at least I believe there largest one in utah weathered controlled to put your trusted belongings CLEARFIELD!!!! David Woosely (Manager) and his team can service you in all those needs, and if they can't which mostly likely 99% they can, they will help you find a resolution to the problem. Remember 4 years I've been with them and I trust them and this location!!! Thank you U-haul of Clearfield.

He just claimed that my move out request couldn’t be processed because my lock was still on the door. My lock that is sitting in my car is somehow simultaneously on the door of the unit. The only reason I gave two stars and not one is because when I called in the employee didn’t argue with me and cancelled my rental like I wanted. Happy with her. I wouldn’t use this facility again though.

The distance to the unit was problematic to me, however, it was this facility that had available the size of storage space that I needed. The greatest disappointment was trying to communicate with the Office at the facility; it appears that the phone calls are transferred to the Regional Office when 5PM comes, even though the local office is open until 6 or 7 PM. In my experience, whenever the calls are transferred to the Regional Office, I can expect to be on hold for 15-20 minutes, and I confess that lately I have not waited the full 15-20 minutes to talk with the Regional people. These are really nice facilities, but if you need to talk with the local people, call before 5PM.

The storage units were clean and functional. I liked that they were well lit and accessible 24/7/365. The facility key card/entry system was nice and the alarms on each unit were reassuring. I ended up setting the alarm off once or twice on accident. Both times a uhaul employee entered the facility to check. Only complain is that the staff member didn't question my need to be there.
