The truck rental was great. The truck was clean and maintained. The car trailer was not great. When I rented it, the man behind the counter attached it to the truck; when I asked him to let me know how to attach the car, he told me to read the bumper. Thats it! I drove the car onto the trailer, and had to back it up and reposition because the straps wouldn't positioned correctly. Then, the right side strap was broken so I couldn't use it. He also never told me about the chains that hold the car in place on the trailer. I thankfully saw one and was able to attach it to the underneath of the car in the back. I didn't see the one in the front until I got home and unloaded the car. Thank God I made it home without incident.

johnetta robbinsI have used the facility for over 2 years. I have not have to go to it until lately. If I would have seen the way that facility is ran, I would of left a long time ago. The sliding doors are open all day during the day. Anyone can go in and out, anyone can cut a lock and move you out. I slipped on a food trash bag in the parking lot that had mayonaise packets. (I have a picture). I tried to go into the facility at night and none of the doors worked. Sorry does not cut it.

The condition of the vehicle was not clean and it was not a well maintained vehicle. I do not know what is going on with this location but it is not typical for what I expect from Uhaul. The customer service rep did not treat me like a valuable client. The manager especially was rude to me. I would not recommend this location for U-haul. Use a different location.

Girl was more worried about why grub hub hadn’t delivered her food. I have used this location before and never had any issues will not use them again .

JAMES WEBER | First ImpressionsI would have give given a perfect score, but I have already called in and they told me they had two trailers and I was calling a golf cart and I asked for the 9-ft trailer and the girl end up selling me the 12 ft trailer, just told me that they didn't have the 9-ft trailer they have one out there when I was loading up and I asked the guy about it and I had already put it on my credit card that's the only reason I didn't go back if it's been cashed I would have went back and got 9 foot trailer but I felt like I got scammed out of $20 because he didn't know if the golf cart was going to fit on the nine foot trailer and I told her it would that's the reason I wouldn't give you a purpose score I felt like I got scammed

Once I got to her I could tell indeed she was having a not so well day. Which is fine but she shouldn't project that energy being the GM. Her tone was condescending and when I asked if the manager was there, she arrogantly stated she was the General Manager. She could touch up on professional skills a tad and interactions with customers being that she is the general manager. I'm surprised she has a job that high up with that attitude.

Justin McMillanThe facility, equipment and the staff were all fine. I'm am so discussed with U-haul though I may never do business with them again. I rented a car trailer one year ago in September and it cost $250. I thought that was bad enough because the last time I got one it was $56 for 24 hours. They said they had a 4 day minimum to go out of state. Ok, I didn't like it, but I paid it. This year, one year later that same trailer, going on the same trip and distance with the same car was $654.00. I know we've had inflation but that's running at about 26%. From $250 to $654. Is a 160% increase in ONE year for exactly the same equipment.. that is way beyond reasonable or acceptable. NEVER AGAIN. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Kelley Wiggins | Online Move InWhat I did like: Having a donate area. That's good for sharing with others while slowing trash pile up continously. What I didn't like: The ever so young staff may do much in parking lot half but don't focus on inside storage area. These are monthly paying customers and surely deserve a clean, properly controlled environment. If air is lacking it takes some time for them to address/report it. A broke down large grill stayed in the way, in a corner up front/top for over 2 weeks. I tried rolling it out of the way as it was in my way and just barely touching it it completely fell to the floor. I told one of the young workers downstairs about it he said yeah we know about it nodded his head and went about his way. Two days later when I come back it's still laid in the floor broke down still in my way. So I pulled it out of my way into another hallway so I could access my belongings easier. Again one and two days later it was still laid in the other hallway as I finished cleaning out my storage facility. The hand is broke off the thermostat on the second floor by the elevator so now it will be even harder for them to know when it's not working properly because that's all these young people are going to rely on. The younger staff is polite just need to work with some seasoned workers 😉 to learn basic things.

Just seemed lazy to me, considering she was just sitting there talking about personal issues to a co-worker. The second girl definitely made up for it but its just a shame how some lazy people rely on others ...

Up to that point, my experience was not good. While the people at the facility in Charleston, SC were nice and tried to fix the issues, the issues should have NEVER happened. The place in Gastonia was great though.

This location should have taken into consideration that people are having issues with COVID and getting back on their feet before selling off people's units. The people their are nice enough but I lost a lot because of their actions. And to make it worst, a few weeks later, we found out that people were stealing mail in the area so we were not protected because they didn't send something to us via certified mail to let us know. I suggest going somewhere else if you are storing something important to you.

A few days after that the manager called me and told me how much she believed in quality customer service and how she was going to give me a truck at no cost so I could move the rest of my stuff. Well, I just got charged for the truck. Turns out everything she said was just a bunch of talk. Very dishonest.

Lady at front was not accommodating, due to the amount of time that it was taking to move with the elevator being broken it cost us more financially because we hired help. Two other employees that were younger were apologetic. However the lady in charge was extremely rude and had poor customer service. We have always paid on time and have used the facility several occasions. This is not the experience I expected when moving out.

Kevin Byas | Overall ExperienceI had to go all the way to Walmart and purchase a Brinks lock because this U-Haul location did not have one on the day I moved in. Then two days later they moved me out without my permission. My lock was cut off and they went through my stuff. I was told it was to find out who the storage unit belonged to but that should have been in the computer along with my phone number. Nobody bothered to call me to ask me if I had moved out before cutting my lock off. The day they cut my lock off I got a phone call asking if I had two storage units. I told them I just had one and they said ok. They never mentioned they had cut my lock off. There was no apology or offer to replace my Brinks lock. They did give me a u-haul lock. I didn’t find out the lock had been removed until I arrived at the storage unit on Friday and my keys did not work. Luckily I arrived during office hours. I asked the ladies in the office why my lock was switched and there was a white tag on the door but nobody seemed to know what a white tag meant. They eventually found the keys to the new lock and I moved out.

I contacted customer service only to be told after going in circles that they have no access to the cards to help me so it was a waste of time and I still need to move. hopefully U-Haul pays for another day because it's their fault that I can't have access to get to my storage because my card doesn't work and you don't open back up until 9 on Sunday and my truck is due back at that time.

If you don’t have a way for your customers to use your facility then it is useless. I moved to a new facility that is more accessible. Also the temperature is 80 degrees upstairs making it hard to work in your space.

I spent 20 minutes on the phone reserving truck and storage, 20 minutes trying to provide online info that obviously didn't transmit, 30 minutes checking in at the facility for truck, 20 minutes getting storage. I had to provide 4 phone numbers, and an address other than my own which seems a bit excessive. Truck and Facility very clean.
