I frequently rent a motorcycle trailer, for $14.95 per day. I made a reservation for a 3 day rental. I picked the trailer up a little after 8:00 am Friday morning. I returned the trailer 3 days later, during the 9:00 a. m. hour. Would you believe I was charged a whole nother day’s rental of $14.95! For returning less than an hour into the forth day. I contributed, $14.95 to the profits of a multi million dollar corporation. All I can say is, “You’re Welcome”!!
Warren TThe console was not installed on the truck but it was in the back of truck. The attendant at the pick up location asked if I needed it installed and I told him no and he removed it from the back of the truck. The personnel at the drop off facility noted it missing and filed a damage report. I am not responsible for this as U-Haul employees removed the item from the vehicle.
David MIt would be nice and a professional courtesy if there was an updated list of issues/concerns with the rental vehicles, before-hand so that renters would not have to verbally verify issues. I had to stop two of your employees to show them the damages, although minor, I did not want to risk being held financially responsible. The computer should already have an updated list of each vehicle as to problems and/or damages. My vehicle had several cracks on the driver's side mirror; the driver's side visor did not latch into the holder; the passenger side visor's connecting visor piece was missing; the vehicle was making a lot of metal shaking sounds, as if something metal was shaking from the bottom; there was also a crack in the front window passenger's side. Your 2 staff representatives were professional and took mental note of the issues and were patient. I truly appreciated that. I felt bad for having to pull them away from their work to note and answer questions about the vehicle, as I tried to decide if I should request another vehicle. I also took pictures of the mileage and gas before leaving, but there seemed to be a little discrepancy on the part of Uhaul's records and my photos. It wasn't off by a lot, but because of the charges in mileage and gas, which we filled, it can change the amount we pay. Every dollar counts, lol. : ) Otherwise, everything worked out well. Thank you and your staff for your assistance.

Jean TI rent a uhaul every week. 90% of the time they're great at this location. This vehicle was an exception. It didn't start very well. It also had more "play" in the steering than normal. And surprisingly it was pretty much out of gas when I got it.

Jose MI thought it would be convenient being an outside storage but unfortunately that whole area is where vans are stored and near equipment returns so once I moved items in and it was always a task and time consuming to get trucks or vans out of the way in order to access my unit. There were times I had to park on the side and walk up because of overnight returns and even times where I just left because it would take about 30 min for them to clear my storage. Most of the staff were very helpful and pleasant especially Ms. Lee but i just think it’s a waste of time and bad business to have that area blocked 90% of the time but offer it to people.

SEAN DThis place is conveniently located but picking up a truck is usually 45 minute to a hour long experience just to get the keys. I’ve only ever seen one person at a time working the counter and they move at a glacial pace. This particular time I called in regarding questions on my reservation and got put on hold for 30 minutes, eventually had to hang up and call back again to finally be able to speak to someone and was told to call my drop off location instead.

John CPeople and services was ok. However, I booked a vehicle for a day and was given 4 hours. I had to have them changed it to the 24 U-Haul stated in the agreement. A day is 24 hours. Not from 2pm to 6pm. Please change that policy or I will change my mind about using your company again.
Wayne RHad problems with reservations system and the van I rented. First, I was assigned a van that was blocked in by another van. After spending a few minutes getting a second van assigned and driving away, the “add oil” warning light came on. Fortunately, I was only a few miles away and returned the van so oil could be added by u-haul staff. Despite adding three quarts, the oil light remained on and I was assigned a third van, which required me to unload the second van and transfer the cargo to the third van. U-haul staff were helpful and helped me with unloading and loading but I can’t understand how a van with no oil was rented to the public. I’ve had good experience with this location but am not sure whether I’ll haul again.

Michael RAs a business owner, time is money! Made a reservation for 10 AM for a pick up truck and was told not a problem. I called in advance explaining I was running late and would be arriving at 10:30 AM. Only to arrive to discover there is not a pick up truck on the premise. At this point my hands are tied and did not have time to go to another location to try and secure another pick up truck. I took a van and place of the pick up truck. It was a risk I had to take because I needed to get inside the garage and the height of the truck concerned me. when arriving on the premise to do the work that was necessary we discovered the van height was too tall. This made our workload more difficult because my staff had to walk a great distance back-and-forth instead of taking the pick up truck directly to the source. The staff at Gaithersburg were pleasant; however, I requested on February 8 when returning the truck my displeasure and how this costed me money due to the labor involved. I requested someone from U-Haul call me and presented my business card. Nobody ever called me. Not very good business relationships.What is the purpose of making a reservation if the item/truck is not there. Why would someone not call me and tell me in advance that they have a challenge procuring a pick up truck? I made several phone calls to U-Haul out of courtesy but yet they couldn't call me or tell me they're having troubles securing a pick up truck when I called them? This would have allowed me to make other arrangements with some other other rental agency. Makes no sense!

I would not recommend this storage to anyone. I have used storage for many years and this one by far is the worst one I have used

You attempted to charge me 3X’s for a unit I had vacated and after repeated attempts of mine to correct YOUR mistake you THEN attempted to not only charge me for a rental I vacated but ADD a late charge. That could be construed as harassment and is illegal. It took me calling National HQ after a 1AM (1252 SUNDAY) email from you to correct the situation. I am still unsure of the status but have blocked you from my VISA acct. I will not be seeking anything but neither will I be recommending your particular facility to anyone. Resolution of issue HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH my experience with your business.

The manager was helpful getting in, but we only got ahold of him after about 20 minutes of calling. After this issue, I immediately removed everything and checked out to not deal with the hassle.

I was not able to get into the locker I rented since I did not have anything to cut the temporary plastic lock on it. I was not told about this and no one was there. I cannot say whether or not the locker was clean since I have not been able to see it as explained above. Forcing me to answer these questions with a yea or no is making me provide a negative answer when it might not be correct so I can finish this survey.

I rented from here for many years and aside from the yearly nominal rent increase (went up about $5 per month each year), I thoroughly enjoyed this location. It was VERY clean, always, with easy access, parking, and available carts for toting belongings from the unit to the loading dock. We moved, and that's the only reason I closed out my rental here.

Regena W | First ImpressionsMy only concern is that I went to the facility after reserving a non-air conditioned unit. When she asked me what did I want I said a non-air conditioned unit. The lady behind the counter then proceeded to give me what I now realize is an air conditioning unit. The items that I'm storing do not require air conditioning. She has therefore double the price of what I have to pay monthly which increases the chance that I might not be able to pay. I was trying to get a unit that I'm sure that I could afford every month. Why she decided to give me whatever unit she wanted confuses me. The reason I went to that facility is because I went to my U-Haul account first and checked locations where I can find a non-air conditioning unit on the first floor. I don't want to ride elevators so I wanted the first floor and I don't need air conditioning. The ad also said something about a month free which she first confirmed then later told me oh my manager says that only applies if you had a one-way U-Haul rental.

The storage facility was clean and spotless and carts were readily available. The area where people would leave their no-longer wanted items was promptly cleared out whether by U Haul staff or folks' new treasure. This U Haul facility is a pleasant place to store your items. Just be sure to swipe your card before opening your storage space to prevent the alarm from going off.

I followed up with him 3 or 4 times without a response. He still hasn’t responded to me. I had to email service@uhaul.com to get it credited to my account. Lastly, I was told by an employee staffing the office front desk that we had to access our storage units during office hours even though the posted access hours are outside office hours! Had they posted that information somewhere, that would have saved me a late night trip to the facility when I couldn’t access my unit!

Next time I won’t notify and if I damage a car I won’t take responsibility , please respect that no everyone has the time to wait until move their cars . Very bad if this is continue I will have to find another place to store my stuff .

The 1st storage unit we had was at the back of the building and had a water leak. Thankfully, I had stuff in rubber tubs and nothing was damaged. However, UHAUL did not seem to care. I asked for a different unit and there were none available, so I suggested a larger unit for the same rate. The check in process and dealing with people working there is extremely SLOW. If you plan to go into the office, be prepared to wait or be in there for at least 30 minutes until you speak to someone. I would not use this facility again or recommend that anyone else does.
