Dillon LabonteMore than one issue. When I booked the van, the rate listed on the website, with my specific area code listed, stated the mileage rate would be $0.69 per mile. On the receipt I received, I was charged $0.79 per mile. I also had an issue with my rental upon picking it up. I booked self service and went in to get my key. Upon inspection, the van I was assigned had a strong smell of cigarette smoke as soon as I opened the back door. I have asthma and cigarette smoke is my worst trigger. I went back inside and the gentlemen helping me were both very accomodating and kind. They tried another van, but it had the same issue with a strong cigarette smell, but the man that checked it said it was way worse than the first one. They then told me those were the only two vans they have and asked if I would be okay taking a 10' box truck. I agreed, although that's not what I wanted or reserved. They had issues with some of the trucks smelling of cigarettes as well and it took a while to find one that didn't have the smell. They gave me a new truck that had no smell and that is the one I ended up taking. I asked if people were allowed to smoke in their rentals and he said they aren't supposed to but they can't really stop them but they charge a fee. I asked him isn't the fee for the vehicle to be cleaned of the smell for the other renters who will use it? He said it was supposed to be but they don't really take care of the vehicles there because they get stolen a lot. I feel that my experience with the company was unacceptable, the employees were great. I asked if there would be a discount or refund for the trouble and for the changes and he said he would put a note in the computer for his manager in the morning. I had not heard anything from any employees at UHaul and the next day but I received my receipt for the full amount and then the incorrect mileage fee. I contacted Uhaul and received a $10 refund email with absolutely no explanation or apology at all. I am still in disbelief that they checked so many vehicles from a corporate rental company before finding one that didn't reek of cigarette smoke, and then to be overcharged and get no response after this experience is icing on the cake. I will rent vehicles from Home Depot if I need one again and just pay the higher price.

ROBERT DAVIDI was frustrated when I got my truck with garbage in the cup holder. Also when I was through my paper work I was told I had to return the truck to a different location. This was frustrating because I had left my car at the location I picked up at. Having to find a ride after drop off at the other location to come and pick my car up. Also the truck had less than a 1/8 of gas in it. First stop was the gas station.
Karen FordThe truck that was rented to me was unsafe. The steering was lose and the truck swayed in the lane because the wheels are not in alignment. The passengers side door flew open when making a turn at 5 mph. The truck made my move extremely difficult and actually put me behind. When I attempted to extend the rental the truck was “not available” and this unsafe vehicle was rented to another family. I returned the truck in the middle of the night and contacted Budget and got a truck the next day. They were much better so they will be my new go to from now on.

Larry PatrickMake the ownership of individual locations accountable to the customers, and quickly force those out who do don't provide good service. Get rid of the 24/7 pick up policy, trying to run your business with nobody around is stupid, sets customers up for disappointment and wasted efforts and resources, and tarnishes the Uhaul brand, while forcing other locations owners to try and make amends to a pissed off customer. Uhaul corporate offers stupidly small discounts to customers Uhaul has failed, apparently deciding it is better to maintain some level of margin on botched transactions, rather than offer a settlement that truly compensated the customer for their wasted time and efforts Uhauls failures have caused while simultaneously passing that cost to the ownership of the failing location. Stupid!! This review is of the Uhaul corporate policy, and the failing My Space Self Storage on Flint MI. The Miller Road location did the best they could given the mess Uhaul corporate has created by allowing poor locations to escape accountability!!!! Uhaul corporate sucks!
Scott PriceThe van we utilized was dirty, and smelled like marijuana. I had to remove trash out of the back, to haul a couch. There was mud, and we had to cover the floor with furniture blankets to keep the couch from being damaged. The exterior of the vehicle was filthy as well.

teairra thomas | First ImpressionsThank you this is my second time having my stuff in storage my stuff was in storage of April 2023 I just got my stuff out October of this year I went and got my stuff out of storage I didn't get it all out sitting my lock in my keys inside my box couldn't find it so therefore 24 hours passed by and when they open up the next day I called cuz my stuff wasn't secured and they put a lock on their for me because I have misplaced my keys that was inside my lock and I work with the people and tell them what was going on they put a lock on there I was able to retrieve my things within 24 hours when I got another truck so all my stuff was there the place is nice and clean you don't have to worry about anything far as mice rats or anything everything was Secure I love this place thank you you all I will recommend you and I will use you in the future thank you once again

Not trying to be a “Karen” lol just bringing it to the forefront so that customers feel comfortable and respected at a professional business.

I have to go through and figure out what all the charges are for and the receipts don’t even specify so I have no way of knowing. I do know I got charged $38 for fuel when the truck was returned on 1/2 tank just as it was when I picked it up. Initially the storage unit I had was far too small and was no a drive up so that put my move behind a whole day. Also I had to come back for the dollies I rented because they forgot to load them. That also put my move behind. I had to come back up there because no one would answer the phone. I would not recommend this uhaul store.

Other than that, I’m pretty happy with it. I would recommend uhaul storage to anyone. For the climate controlled storage and the ease of access it’s well worth it.

And that's why MILLER RD is an actual joy to work with. What DAVID has in his CHARACTER can't be bought. DAVID has a very good BALANCED personality that includes a necessary blend of compassion, commitment and knowledge Actually, the WHOLE team was VERY good this time. Moving is STRESSFUL for MANY reasons and especially since COVID and the desperation it created in families. Please allow me to say..."WE NEVER KNOW THE SOLES IN WHICH ONE WALKS but WE CAN HELP WITH THEIR SOULS"....this is in all aspects of life especially when one's life has ended up in plastic bags going down the road in a WHITE & ORANGE TRUCK!!!!!
