I only rate it like this because it was constantly dirty and garbage everywhere. Also broken bay doors and side doors that seemed to never get fixed. The rates are also starting to get out of hand. Yes I would recommend U-Haul storage but at the same time I would caution people on the upkeep of this facility. It never use to be that way and I have rented here several times.

Had a few issues with the truck, it was a local move so wasn't a big deal. Just hope when we travel to another state this coming weekend there are no issues with that truck. Truck would vibrate pretty bad once you got over 50 - 55 miles an hour. Also, I know it is to earn extra money but having the bag of furniture protectors and dolly take away from usable space for our household items, not to mention not wanting to accidentally hit the dolly and break the seal.

The staff at Escanaba U-Haul are fantastic. The manager is wonderful, but Grace is our absolute favorite. We’ve rented three different things in the last two weeks and the staff has been great! They are knowledgeable and professional. I’d hire Grace if I wasn’t retired and still had my business.

All horizontal surfaces had big piles of frozen sand stuck to the trailer when I drove away with it. The lady tried using a leaf blower to blow the frozen ice bergs off the trailer but they were too stuck. Take the time to clean it when it's returned, not when it's on its way out. Half of the trailer lights quit working part way through my trip. Kind of nerve wracking when you have to drive at night.

There is very little that needs to be improved - this was a very, very professional and pleasing experience. I had asked to reserve a vehicle the day before and was promised and received a call the next telling me it was available. This BIG UHaul place is truly full service, but everyone here is great at customer service. The manager is very helpful and every staff person I’ve interacted with has been helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to extend themselves. It’s the best UHaul-branded store I’ve ever been to.

The girl that was working in the office on 9/28 had great customer service and was very helpful. She made the experience must less stressful for me! The storage areas wee very clean and it was the most affordable storage unit I could find in the area. I also got a free lock with my storage unit purchase!!

For Uhaul company. It would be easier for customers to start with a full tank of gas and then fill it up when they return. Estimating what to put in at the end of the trip is annoying.

Maybe we needed to walk a bit past our unit to activate the lights, but there was enough from the adjacent section to see well enough to load and unload. Not a huge deal, just something to note.

We had two boxes going to Tucson one made it on time and the other arrived 4 days late. Also, we paid for the shipment and then just before Tucson was going to deliver the second box we get another bill for the shipment. I am really not sure if one hand knows what the other is doing. I got too many text messages and emails. Would not recommend Uhaul.

Extremely clean and easy to use. Rented a small room indoors for my daughter’s dorm stuff for the summer so we didn’t have to bring everything home just to bring it all back in 3 months. Everything fit perfectly with lots of room to spare and her stuff was in the same condition coming out as it was coming in. Highly recommend for storing dorm stuff for the summer break.

I was charged over 500 dollars and the roof leaked and soaked my belongings. Did not get a discount. The rep looked and verified the roof leaked and said file a claim. So that means the long dealing with insurance.

Good location. Provides all Uhaul services. Although pricing is always inconsistent with high deviations when renting the same equipment multiple times... The quality and maintenance of equipment are hit & miss at this location. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the storefront is always well stocked.

The Escanaba UHAUL location is top-notch! The business is run knowledgeably and efficiently. Grace handled the return of our one-way 15' UHAUL truck with friendly expertise. We would highly recommend this business if you are considering a Do-It-Yourself move.

Folks at this location are always very helpful and professional. ~The vehicle for this rental was less than clean. The cab, exterior, and cargo areas had not been cleaned well prior to my rental. ~ Truck's front alignment was off and the truck "Shimmies" (shakes) above 40mph which made it very difficult to drive after a few hours on the road... (Driver's front wheel may have been out of balance as well). ~ Was very happy otherwise. The truck had lots of power and faired better on gas mileage than expected.

The previous manager didn't hold the storage units we had reserved online. When we arrived in Escanaba,the new manager fixed the the problem and got us the needed units to store the contents of a fully loaded 26 foot truck. Many thanks to him for what he did. We unloaded the truck the next day in short order and everything is safe and dry for the next several months until our new home is built. Thanks to the new manager.

I was late a couple different times on storage rent, but when paid in full there were two occasions where the lock you guys put on my unit wasn't taken off after paid. The second time was three weeks later. To save the embarrassment of the customer to have to ask you to remove the lock. I recommend you unlock it immediately after the rent is paid in full. This way it doesn't get forgotten about like it was for me. Otherwise my experience here was pleasant.

The company customer service claimed they had no control over the storage facility I was renting from. The escanaba facility was left in the hands of a single, over whelmed person who could not or would not answer messages or phone calls during business hours. I was being charged for two units, despite only one having a lock, and even though the second one was clearly empty and unused the Manager was unaware until I drove there from another state to cancel both units.

The staff on site were always helpful. What I didn’t care for and the reason I left is that my rates constantly went up, and payment was never taken on the day it was supposed to be. This caused unreasonable and unwarranted late fees though there was money in my account every time.

You should state a specific late fee date after due date. There were times when I was six days late and didn’t get charged. Yet, if I was there days late on other months I was charged. Also, you are by far, the most expensive storage in our area. Bar none! AND NOW YOU ARE RAISING RATES! So those are the two reasons why I moved to another storage.

Kevin Pearson was a breath of fresh air. He literally went out if his way to help accommodate me with everything we had going on. I coordinate groceries for a non profit called Mission of Hope Delta County, and we needed help with several things, including using the forklift to get pallets off of trailers for us. Olivia and her staff are very professional and always had a great attitude. Olivia was also extremely helpful as well. Great group of people you have as staff at the Escanaba Uhaul!!

From Las Vegas NV to Escanaba MI, all customer service representatives have been friendly, helpful and informative. Having the option to rent a storage unit at my destination was very helpful. The only issue I had was that I received a text message to return the truck 20 miles from the first agreed upon destination on the date of return. Spoke to Olivia Fix and the situation had been resolved.

We had a great experience from start to finish. I had a lot of questions and Morgan was very helpful and answered all of them.If she didn't know the answer she immediately got it. We rented a van and a storage unit so there was a lot going on. Very impressed by the security and cleanliness of property. We hope to continue doing business with this specific U-Haul location. Staff in general was very helpful and friendly even the gentleman (I did not get his name) that checked the vehicle back in. We overall had a very pleasant experience with a very professional staff.

The customer service for an empty storage unit needs to be revisited. As it was empty and able to be rented out $109 was too much to pay. No ability to work with us has lead me to not use Uhaul again
