Everything was good except the truck back shutter door. It was stuck due to rust. After multiple attempts, it finally worked. Even though it was not smooth during open and close, somehow managed it. Suggest to apply lubricant for the back shutter door mechanism.

There was an open bag of blankets, a dolly, and some papers/rubbish in the back, and there were muddy footprints and some sort of sticky liquid spill on the console. Other than that, was a positive experience that I would both use and recommend in the future. (Also, the mileage was off by one, and the tank was not "full" as stated)

Hire better associates @ Danvers, MA. During pickup, ALL THREE associates had ZERO knowledge about U-Haul auto transports, provided a faulty auto transport, and REFUSED to do anything about it. We had to contact customer support ourselves, wait for a resolution, and drive all the way to the Salem, MA to get help from the general manager there. Huge thumbs up to Anthony @ Salem, MA location for stepping in to assist with fixing the faulty auto transport. From the time we arrived @ Danvers, MA to finally leaving from Salem, MA took a total of 4 hours. Absolutely ridiculously piss poor experience @ Danvers, MA.

TJ and Tianna stayed a couple of minutes past their shift to help me after I showed up late for my reservation. I rented a U-Haul van for work. I supervise customer service at my company and needed it for some shipments. The staff went above and beyond to assist me for the pick-up. Great service. Also, they were there to ensure a smooth return process. Both were knowledgeable and efficient, and I can’t thank them enough for their help.

I took out one star because I had some difficulty operating the vehicle. Like where to turn on the headlights, where to adjust the heat, which button on the remote unlocks the rear door, etc. So a very minimum instructions should have been given.

First I would like to thank Ms. Correa, as she was the one who was able to finally stop me from being charged for 2 units when I only had one. This took 3 months. She was the 5th and final person to correct that issue, after being told it was corrected 4 times. I was unable to get into the storage building multiple times due to the 2nd card reader not working. The third time it happened the woman at the desk told me it has been a known issue for couple weeks. Great to hear (sarcasm). Then they couldn't make me a new card, I had to get in with an employee. Extremely inconvenient, considering i waited in line for almost 40 minutes as the one employee was helping someone locate the truck they rented and wasnt there even though he paid for it. What a terrible experience that day. A 5 minute errand turned into almost 1.5 hours for me. 2 out of 4 times the pass code they gave me, to not have to use the card reader, worked. 50% chance of getting in and out. Not worth the 50% increase in price over the course of a year. Perhaps if I was able to get in, and didn't have so much issue paying for only my own storage unit, perhaps not so bad. But the price going from 40$ or so up to 70$, not worthwhile. Other places in the area have more reasonable prices. I cannot speak on the competitors facilities however, as I have not used them yet. I also noticed a large water leak from the roof being caught in a mop bucket, well over flowed, going into a couple other people's units. If those were mine, my metal car parts I was storing would be rusted and ruined. Glad that wasn't the case. Defeats the purpose of safe storage. If I wanted water on my car parts they'd be under the porch stairs outside my parents house. The employees who work at the facility I used were helpful when possible, and Ms Correa helped big time. Just seems like corporate needs to dive in and correct some overhead facility issues. In a nutshell: too many issues for an 50% price increase. Employees were helpful when possible. When not possible, out of their control and I feel bad they take the heat.

The only constructive recommendation I could give is that the timers be adjusted on the hall lighting. The timers should add another 20 minutes, so that I am not constantly waving my arms to turn on the hall lights, when the hall lights time out after 20 minutes. This is a real pain.

The companies lack of prorating unused portions of the monthly rent is dishonist and a way to cheat customers. Problems with rentals of trailers and trucks cannot be resolved at the drop off location. The company makes customers take up complaints with the pick up location. This is low and underhanded.

Why are you so inflexible on purchasing or renting additional items like padding/blankets for a truck when you could have just done a separate charge? It seems that getting blankets/padding has to be done with another purchase and once that purchase is closed out, there is no way to buy separately. This is wired.

Stafff used the computer to accesses my personal information and text me hitting on me and then later told me his girl found out that he texted me and face mad and she is the manager there. I was really really upset when I got stuck in the process of moving my things from state to state to this facility because. As I am in the process of moving the elevator got stuck and did not work I could not get out my family could not come and get me out. I had to call uhaul 1800 number I kept on getting hanged up I also used the customer button and no response I have to call the fire department and police to come help me out. I think it was a set back for me and the people that came to help me waiting on someone to come get me out and get this rolling so I can finish and get the help out of there and that was not the case. There something that should be done?? I need some type of answers here.??? Some type of compensation on my lost time and others involved. Like what I’m the helll is there no system for this? Why are there no stairs set in place for such a thing to happen to anyone they can get out the building?? I mean just having to go thrue this is kind of insane. For business and repeat business it makes you double think about it or to be able to recommend somebody I don’t know . Very very disappointing to have to deal with this situation while you tired and exhausted and the to add this to it it’s disgusting for real!! I’m nog happy at all… actually very mad.

I had rented a 10ft truck for a day with the intention of moving the contents of my bedroom into my storage unit. When I arrived on site, they were closed so I used the code like instructed, however it took me an hour to be able to get the door open. I was only able to open it after someone else using a storage unit had told me that the door is broken and you need to put all of your force into it to pull the door open. There was not a single sign on the door stating this and if it hadn’t been for the other customer I would have never known. After I was able to open the door, I went up to the unit, where I discovered that the unit was way too small to fit the contents of my 10ft truck. Prior to this, I had spoken to someone on the phone (who I made both the truck and storage unit reservation with) who assured me numerous times that the unit I purchased would fit all of my stuff. I had to drive to my parents house two states away to unload all of my stuff at 11pm at night and am now going to be charged over $200 for the miles I had to drive with your error.

it was a positive ecperiance until i needed help with the move out process so i called and got a very rude and unprofesinal person who answered and basicly stated that i had to be standing in the show room to do the move out process and told me to read my contract and thats thier policy nothing in the contract that says that by the way in fact u-haul has a process for doing it on line. maybe some better training or retraining in this case because ive heard him on site being rude to other customers

I needed storage while I was waiting to move. This was my first experience using a storage center. Beth and her team made the experience a good one. I was usually there on Saturdays and Cynthia and Charlie were friendly and attentive. Ned kept the place looking good. Sharon and Rose always had a smile. Matt and Billy were there to answer questions. If I left anyone out know that I never left UHaul Danvers without thinking, that was a good experience. The questions above do not match the criteria needed for this survey I never saw the facility. employee never offered A walk through to show me the unit. The location is on rte 1 North bound. Difficult for me to get there.I was told I could rent a unit for 50$/mo for 2 years. When I brought it up she was rude saying she never said it. Then I was told I had to buy a lock from you. You kept adding charges and I was overwhelmed. I never moved in. I went the next day and cancelled.

there were 2 females working at the location that were helpful there was an older man who tried to help me but he was not well trained (not his fault) And finally there was a young man with black hair who literally sat our whole exchange with his feet up on the counter space The young man did not look anything up in the computer to verify what I asked for service with and just did not seem in the mood to look Also I had issues accessing my storage after hours more than once even though that is what I paid for, this was corrected but I did have to come back to the office during office hours several times which defeats the purpose of 24/7 access

The associates were very friendly and helpful and it was easy to get in and out of the storage unit itself (once I got there). My one complaint is that traffic flow is difficult around the facility. I'm not sure how to resolve that. We didn't have too much of a problem but I imagine during your busy times if there are a lot of people there, parking and access might be difficult. Also, the entrance is sort of hidden and easy to miss, and I was very glad to see you put a lighted sign at the entrance from route 1--that will help with visibility. The associates behind the counter were all very cheerful and helpful and this makes up for any physical difficulties of the place! Thank you very much!!

During a stressful time of getting our entire top floor hardwood floors refinished, Beth was so very helping in setting up a plan for us and saved us over $350.00. By renting a 15’ truck and using the free storage, it made the hold experience simple and stress free. The trucks were clean, the storage area was bright and brand new looking. On Sunday Tatiana was so very helpful. She guided me through the process and made it smooth and stress free. You guys have saved me a good amount of money. After renting here for 12 months, I spent a whole day moving to a less conveniently-located facility because this U-Haul location is so bad. I have: (1) been locked out of my unit (not billing related), (2) been trapped in the facility, (3) had papers in my “air conditioned” unit ruined due to humidity, and (4) measured the indoor temperature last week at 29 degrees Fahrenheit. All the while, I experienced totally inept customer service. 1) Over the course of two weeks, I visited my unit after hours twice and was unable to use my card to get in. After going out of my way to visit during office hours, I was told, “Oh yeah the card readers don’t work on building D… we will get you PIN access.” U-Haul management should have notified customers rather than leaving it to us to figure out that the card reader wasn’t working. 2) On December 11th at 5pm I entered the facility, which has one entrance and one exit off the highway, only to find construction trucks blocking the exit. After notifying the construction crew to my presence, I was still unable to access my unit or even leave the facility for 20 minutes. This could have easily been prevented by management coordinating to move U-Haul trucks that eliminated means of navigating around the construction trucks. 3/4) Don’t expect the indoor “air-conditioned” units to amount to anything. For over a month this summer, A/C was malfunctioning in building D such that the floor had pools of water from condensation on pipes… the resulting humidity was enough to destroy any exposed papers items in storage. This winter, I measured the building’s inside temperature to be below freezing. I understand that things break, but at least notify your customers! When I was dealing with the broken card readers on July 17, 2020, one of the employees was not wearing a mask. He was talking to two customers (both wearing masks) at a short distance. Regardless how you feel about masks, his attitude was objectively disrespectful towards those customers. This total lack of care is made apparent by every single U-Haul employee at this location by their inability to provide reasonably reliable unit access and/or notification of the facility’s state of disrepair.

The assistant manager, Ben, was very helpful, friendly and courteous. Ben explained to my wife and I the ins and outs of the storage facility and process. He took us to our unit after we signed up online, explaining the security, how to use of key card and lock. Overall it was an excellent experience. Ben was fantastic, we would give him an A+

Beth is a great employee. The several times I've been there or called she has been been courteous, clear, sincere in her efforts and recommendations and overall terrific. She is confident in her job and it is reflected in the way she treats each customer (i've been in a short line while she handled live customers and the phones). Superior to so many others who work with the general public.

The morning when I picked up my truck the girl was exceptional! When I went to drop it off was frustrating though. I arrived close to closing time and the guy asked me to do online drop off. The internet wouldn't work on my phone so I was unable to complete it. He was still there but kept busy looking at the other vehicles turned in whose customers had left. I felt like he should have helped me since I was there in person.

Elizabeth is an experienced manager who is always available to assist her customers. My family went through a huge loss and she was very helpful and sympathetic. Elizabeth went out of her ways to help us. We will never forget her kindness. I highly recommend U Haul of this location.

U-Haul of Danvers is definitely a secure place, there are cameras everywhere. I went Thursday night to close out my storage unit and the front desk had 2 workers. I needed to wait about 15 minutes before being taken care of but once I was being served things went quickly. I would recommend this facility. Thanks Bob

This was a last minute storage rental I made with Beth an hour before closing. I had a reservation for a truck and storage unit at U-Haul 222 Central Street Saugus but they close early (Thursday 2/20/20 before 4:30) so I was left high and dry. I ended up getting my truck from Ricky at the Saugus Broadway facility and he recommended Beth at the Danvers facility for my storage units. Beth was knowledgeable and professional and I would recommend both the Saugus Broadway facility and the Danvers facility. Stay away from U-Haul at 222 Central Street Saugus. Thanks Bob Santiano
