Manager Bobby was excellent help. However the initial wait time at the counter was unacceptable. There were employees at all registers but the initial process is too long and confusing for some customers. Also, stop trying to sell me crap I don't want when making a reservation on line.

I called the reservation center to locate a trailer for a day use. I told the call center where I lived and after an extend conversation and sign ups, I was sent a reservation that was more than 20 miles from me. I had to go to the U-Haul to find what I needed and made another reservation. They could not help me cancel the other reservation, so I had to do that on the app. When I picked up my rental the tire was flat. They put air in it and told me to call if I had any problems and I paid an extra $5.00 in case I had any tire issues. When I return my rental, they said they would email me a copy of my return. That did not happen.

Staff seemed to not really care that I had dropped off the equipment. The site had poor directions in my opinion as to where to drop off the equipment. When I asked after I arrived they said the green tent. They also said a person should have waved me over but that person was moving vehicles. Doesn’t make much sense to me.

Front end of the truck had a lot of slop in the steering I was supposed to get a 30 mile add on for not having the truck at the original location. I should also have gotten more miles for that location beimg further away. Pointed this out to the cashier but they were unable to help me

I did have to go to U-Haul twice today. Once for the install & then I went back because I heard a rattling noise. The installer said that everything was installed correctly, and he inspected it. Then, he added an extra hanger for my muffler that made the rattle sound stop. I am so thankful. So, I would say that no improvement is needed. The installers did a great job!!!

Be nicer and double check the information you give the customer so they aren't looking for the truck they rented in the rain because the guy behind the counter told you the wrong location. Tried to unlock 4 different trucks before I found mine. But overall mediocrity is what I expected.

I waited in line for 15 minutes while employees sat and talked with a friend and made customers wait. This location has terrible service they don’t care about customers at all ! Employees have nasty attitudes I will not be going back ! I do not recommend this location to anyone. The only employee that was inviting and helpful was a nice gentleman named Mr. Bass and he went above and beyond to help me and my family this location needs more gentleman like that !!!

I waited in the truck as the sign stated but nobody came out. I got out of the truck to check inside and was met at the door by the guy who takes care of checking out. He said he would take the key and email me if there were any issues. Clearly that is not what the sign says out front. I dont feel like i am going to get my gas reimbursed for returning it with more in it then what i received. The "GM" seemed like she could careless about anything going on and had the personality of a wet towel. Awful experience at dropoff and pickup. I will rent from somewhere else next time instead of wasting my time here.

I had not shown up to the facility myself. However, the link to get me into the unit was not working the way it should. I followed the driver license steps and when I would go submit, each time the error message of "request invalid" would show up. The woman seemed very impatient and ended up taking information from the people I sent for me, and then must have created an entirely different account that I now have to contact support to get the unit in my name. The situation was settled, but should not have been such a cluster.

I’m not sure what was going on when we tried to get our storage unit maybe they were busy. But the staff wasn’t able to work the computer correctly. She had to ask others what units were available and seems very scattered. After looking at the unit and the process of getting the unit we decided it wasn’t big enough and had our reservation cancelled.

I had my unit for over 2 years and I experienced a hardship recently and the GM refused to work with me financially. My unit was recently sold in auction after the years of payments and the GM had the nerve to send me an invoice of payment remaining due. She should have worked with me and she would have gotten full payment but not now.

If it's mandated that you use U-Haul storage locks. You should have a better way to actually remove the locks just in case a key is lost. It should not take three hours to be able to drill a lock, which happen to me.

When we moved into the storage unit 6 months ago the elevator was broken and there was no downstairs large units so we had to carry heavy furniture up two flights of stairs, we were constantly told it would be fixed and it never was. I was told by the field manager that uhaul would pay for movers to help us carry the heavy furniture down the two flights of stairs, I never heard from him, I had to pay 400 for movers to help us. We were never given anything to make up for paying almost 200$ and not having the convenience we were paying for

The elevator was out of service for the duration of my rental. I had to carry all of my things up two flights of stairs. Very inconvenient. Also there was some time when the check in/out system was down by the door to my unit so I had to go all the way around to the main entrance to check in. Staff was friendly.

Elevator broke and using the stairs to move our storage items was not easy and we our in our seventies and not in great health. When we asked for help the staff told us to hire someone to help us. Plus they had I don’t give a darn attitude which was not appreciated. In fact the staff who were in early thirties even had the gall to tell us that even they had to use stairs to go to second floor. They also told me that they would not adjust my monthly rent because of the elevator situation.

Had the worst experience during the end of my tenancy at this Concord location. I was treated and spoken to in such a disrespectful manner by the manager Heather and another member of her staff. I was accused of owing a balance that was not corrected in the system, I was spoken to over the phone rudely and was promised an apology but never got one, and when it was time to move out the manager wasn’t helpful on assisting me in a timely manner but took the time to gather 2 other employees to watch me clear out my unit on a busy Saturday while giving me 1 hour to clear my storage after waiting for 45 minutes for them to give me access to my unit. When I first got my storage through the first manager there were no problems and everyone was nice but this new manager just tried to prove herself in the wrong way with the wrong one. Also witnessed her speaking to some of her staff members in a nasty way as well. I am an interior designer that was going to continue my storage needs with this location due to convenience but now after my experience I wouldn’t rent a trailer hitch from them if they paid me! Management makes or breaks an establishment.

Two days prior, I reserved a 1st floor, climate controlled unit online and received a confirmation. When I showed up with moving helpers to unload the truck, I was told the facility did not have any climate controlled units available. The manager and front desk worker both had a nonchalant attitude. I was encouraged to call U-Haul and file a complaint which was not what I wanted to do. I needed a storage unit! I ended up renting a heated unit. Is reserving a climate controlled unit online a bait and switch tactic? Knowing when a customer arrives with a truck and moving helpers s/he will take a readily available 'Heated" unit. for the same price of a more expensive climate controlled unit. Hmmm?

First night at the facility after checking out I went back a couple of hrs later tried to get in the facility and couldn't. The "system" said I'd need to contact the Mgr. I figured I'd wait until the morning and go back to try again, it worked. I assume the computer has a time reset or something like that so it wasn't a big deal. Other than that the only complaints I have is the elevator isn't working and hasn't been for sometime preventing people with disabilities to use larger units. My issue was I have physical limitations even though a larger unit(s) are available I cannot go up and down stairs carrying stuff and moving heavy items upstairs without an elevator or something other means to get to a level higher than the ground floor. The other issue really doesn't have anything to do with U-Haul, people just need to be more considerate as they aren't the only people using the facilities. Blocking doors and leaving a mess of their personal crap and just general poor disposition is a problem that can be resolved but they're too lazy and are a VERY poor example for their children. Especially when you see the children acting out as a DIRECT result of the parents poor behavior.

I paid for storage for almost a year and 3 months and had to throw everything away. There was roach droppings and dead roaches everywhere and there was no way I was taking any of it to my new house. I really think I should get my money back for the storage that I threw everything away from.

Charged us rent when first month was free then gave our reservation to someone else. Once we got a new unit which was smaller we were told that if a lock was on it then to call corporate because there was nothing she could do and then she left for the day. We were not able to unload the U-Haul truck and my husband works all week so now U-Haul needs to fix this mistake and move our stuff since we now cannot. Appalling service. Will never use U-Haul again.

The staff were always friendly and usually helpful except for when I requested a partial refund of a full month's rent I paid just 1 day before I moved out. They just said they couldn't do it so I ended up paying $67.90 for 1 day of storage. And the day I moved out, I had to carry 7 boxes down the stairs over multiple trips because the elevator wasn't working. Another customer told me it had been out for 3 weeks.

The elevator at this facility has been down for 2+ weeks and it has been close to impossible to retrieve my furniture and boxes due to my unit being upstairs. I do not live in town where this storage space is located and have had to travel over 2 hours to a broken elevator. I was not given a grace period due to the broken elevator which resorted me to have to move the furniture and boxes down the stairs in a rushed and untimely manner.

There was a staff member by the name of Marcella who was very rude when I called concerning my storage unit and how to go about having to keep the U-Haul a while longer she said she didn’t understand what I was asking her in the most rude way just ghetto and then when I asked to speak the manager she quickly stated he was unavailable at the time which I knew it wasn’t true because I heard him in the background and when I told her that she was being very rude and not helpful she hung up on me then when I called back she transferred me over to customer service after hours which I had to end up paying more money because I had to end up keeping the U-Haul longer because she stated they had no storage units available which turned out not to be true because the very next morning the manager was able to get me the storage unit I desired I reported her to the manager which he seemed to not really care about how I was mistreated but he was kind it was a really really bad and stressful situation costing me more time and money just a nasty individual who doesn’t need to be in customer service

The only issue was I called to reserve 2 storage units in addition to the 2 I have been renting for awhile. I needed a large ground floor unit but was unavailable. The person I spoke to assured me I would be able to get a 10x5x8 ground floor. "No problem, they had plenty and on ground floor. No need to reserve." When I arrived to rent units none left on ground floor or even close together. So I had to take 2 on 2nd floor. One had to access by stairs, the other(not close by) We had to access by elevator. Extra time was needed which resulted in more money. Other than that everyone was nice. I feel my belongs are secure.

Had a flat tire on the trailer @1:00am I the hood. And after 3.5 hours of waiting get a call back that they can’t find a tire for it and can’t get me a tow. So for the safety of my family I left that area for we were the only color of people in that area at late hours so I drove it 30miles at 15-20 mph to the closest uhaul. Sat there from 4:30 to 7am when they opened to be told they don’t have a tire nor would they fix it that uhaul service had to and it would be about 4 days out. This was ridiculous service. When I asked the lady on the phone for a refund since they couldn’t provide services for me she said they would text me a reference number and hung up on me such bad service

The reasons for this rating are as follows: 1. The unit which I was sold was down a narrow hallway at the end of a maze of hallways, with lights hanging below the top of the unit from the ceiling so that exiting the unit became difficult on the rolling stairs provided. The hallway was also choked by metal panels sticking out of the wall, making access even more difficult. The rolling stairs had trouble turning which was a problem getting them through the labyrinth of hallways. 2. At some point, 1 month ago, I received an unexpected email stating "This email is to notify you that your storage unit 1445 is vaccant. Please contact us and confirm your storage unit status as moved out to avoid unwanted billing charges for the upcoming billing cycle. Thank you!". I tried to reply to the email 3 times, then tried to call the number at the bottom of the email. The phone number did not allow me to connect due to an issue with the automated service. When I investigated, I found that my unit was not empty. This seems to be a problem in that no one at the U-Haul location communicated that there was a mistake, and that I had to go to the location to find out that there was nothing to worry about. No working phone number or email means that if someone who had left their belongings in a storage unit, had been making payments, and was told falsely that their belongings had been removed from the storage facility, they could have a much longer trip to have to find out the truth. We talked about this with an employee and they had no answer as to why that email was sent.

Well upon arrival I waited in line for assistance ,and an associate left just before I was to be seen. Once another associate entered the building he assisted a customer behind me. The access doors were not explained to me upfront. I was unaware that I needed to immediately place a lock on my assigned unit. I arrived several days later and learned that my assigned unit was not available. Also, one attendant was assisting a customer and he told me to ask either of the other two available attendants. When I asked, they told me that they were assigned to outside duty and could not assist. This, coupled with the time it took to find me another unit, cost me money as I had hired a moving company which charges by the hour. Additionally, I was paying for (original unit) the convenience of not having to lift property up/down stairs but, the unit I ended up with was the exact opposite. Very disappointing experience.

I checked in after the main office hours and I was told that a lock would be *INSIDE MY UNIT* when I arrived. Not only was that NOT the case, but when I pushed the call button for the supposed "24 HOUR ASSISTANCE" inside the facility, nothing happened. This doesn't make me feel secure or that anyone is actually going to assist me if there is a major issue. Moreover, the locker that I was rented has a GAPING HOLE between the top of it's wall and the ceiling, such that anyone who isn't particularly obese and wanted to climb into the unit could easily do so... especially with the movable ladders the facility provides... and the fact that the sliding glass door that is SUPPOSED TO BE SECURE was just opening and closing with motion (just my walking up to it). Oh--and the access code that I was sent DIDN'T WORK. It kept saying "DENIED".

I paid for a climate controlled unit, only to find out the a/c is broken in bldg A, and it was 102° in the building. And the location is/was aware and did not communicate that issue. Also, the website states you receive a lock with your storage unit, only to be told I would have to pay for the lock instead. I am very disappointed with this location. Thankfully this will definitely be a short usage of storage space.

There was a lady that really tried to help we were given a unit that was already taken. Got all our stuff up to the unit & couldn’t get into our assigned unit because it was already a lock on it. At this time Uhaul was closed because we rented our unit a little bit before closing. Went back downstairs to the office fortunately we were able to get in because someone else was having issues. As soon as we walked in another lady not the one that had assigned us the unit said we’re closed I said I was just assigned a unit that has a lock on it she said oh well you have to come back tomorrow. I said but all my stuff is up there on pallets. She said you still gotta come back so as we we’re going back & forth the other lady that originally help me intervened she tried to find us another unit by couldn’t & was told we would have to see the manager in the morning. The other rude lady got into it with another customer when we were getting out unit assigned to us. She is so rude definitely need to work on her customers service skills. When I came I. Last week just to get plastic wrap & asked the different prices she had an attitude because I was asking. Very disappointed!!!

The general manager was very helpful. The clerk/customer service rep at the desk was not very helpful. She could not locate my storage unit. She did not know how to read the storage map we walked around for several minutes trying to locate the storage unit. I had to try to locate the unit myself. The worst customer service experience I have ever received from any business. Management is not attentive to customer concerns and makes no effort to address any issues reported. I used your location @ 855 Concord Parkway S. for storage. I also used a Charlotte location for the truck to move into storage at Concord and the service was equally horrible. Charlotte waited until I was on my way to pick up my reserved truck to tell me they didn't have it so I had to drive 30 miles to get one. I get to Concord and they don't have the unit ready so I wait an hour only to be told it wouldn't be ready until the next day. I had to leave my life packed on the truck in the parking lot at Uhaul and miss work. The next day when I arrived back at the site (Concord) only to be told the unit still wasn't ready. I was basically told I would have to take two smaller units instead. When I checked out on 5/28 a lot of my items were destroyed and broken which I convinced was due having to cram everything into a smaller space. I cried a lot while unpacking because the lack of concern that was shown for things I have worked hard to have. Not to mention the sentimental value. I hope this helps in some way to change the way Uhaul treats their customers so that no one walks away feeling the way I have felt during this process.

I rented the unit on-line, then asked at the desk for more information. One of the clerks took me to the entry and showed me how it worked by using the keypad. He also said I would be getting a key card to use. He left and I showed my sons where the unit was, then went down to unload the trailer; however, the loading door would not open. I walked back to the office and a clerk said she would be over to help shortly. After waiting 10 minutes, I found another clerk who said they forgot to open it that morning and he would let them know. In a few minutes it was opened. I went back to the office to get some moving wrap, tried to pay cash, and no one had a cash drawer, so I had to use my card. When I asked the clerk when I could get a key card, she created it right then. I don't know why the first clerk couldn't do it. The unit was clean and we were able to pack everything into it.

This facility is understaffed. The staff may be friendly if they weren’t so busy so I will say they’ were friendly in this review. Every time I went into the facility there was always a line of people waiting to be serviced. The last time the system was down. I had problems with management removing the insurance charge from my account. I brought my homeowners insurance to them twice. A manager was not on site so my name was taken down by clerk to give to manager to remove the charge. I’m still waiting on the credit back to my ckg acct.

My unit was in the back where the swipe check in/out pad was ALWAYS messed up. I called and complained 2 times and heard nothing back from anyone. Its an inconvenience to not know if you can check in the box near your unit or you have to drive to the front check in there, then drive to your unit in the back. No one sent an email to the customers whose units were in the back to let us know to please chek in @ the front until further notice. Its a simple communication issue I'd say. As far as the staff they are pretty much ok. Yesterday Dec 2 everyone was great! A few times I've come and complained about the check in/out box not working and they seemed uninterested. I called and they said someone would call me back and still nothing. Other than this I would say it was overall an average experience.

The access readers were broken several times. At one point there were homeless people in the storage building walking around and in the bathroom. I had a unit for 10-11 months and the alarm would always go off ever time I opened it. I talked to several "managers" who assured me the would fix the problem and they never did.

On many occasions I was unable to get into the building during open hours. Something wasn’t working on either the doors, the check in box or the unlock boxes. On other occasions the employees had placed locks on my unit stating that I had not paid, then apologized when realized that I have automatic withdrawal and always paid on schedule. But this repeated again. Basically staff was nice but every time I wanted to get in my unit there was an issue that had nothing to do with me, but it stopped me from getting into my unit. So was frustrating. Employees were nice though.

I rented a both a truck and a unit on Friday the 9th. I requested a 10x10. Went to unit. Swipe card did not work. Came back to desk. Associate walked me down to unit. Discovered that unit that was rented to me should not have been due to the fact that the roof was leaking. That was the last 10x10 available. Had to settle for 8x10. I went to that unit and there was a lock on the unit. Walked back up the hill. At that point I decided to take the rental truck home and start loading up to come back hoping that when I do come back all will be taken care of. It was. The only reason I rented the unit from U-HAUL is that you were running a 1st month free program. If that wasn’t the case I’d go elsewhere.

System failures and lacking updates has each shift doing different from the other. The people at the customer service desk were overall pretty terrible. Had some miserable younger heavyset woman help me at first, I had never been there before and she treated me like an idiot. The staff at the desk weren't wearing masks but they made the customers wear them. If they did have them on they were under their nose. The lady that was maintenence/custodial with short hair was a very nice lady I talked to multiple times.

I rented three units from Cube Smart and there was no line, no wait and everything I got exactly what I reserved. Cube Smart employees all wore masks and were very aware of Covid. Your employees did not wear masks and unfortunately non of the customers standing in line inside the store did either.

Last 2 Sunday’s have been a problem. Main sliding door not opening. 1st Sunday young man took his sweet time getting it unlocked. Last Sunday’s,nice young lady took care of it, she was very pleasant and explained why. The guy there on Sunday was not friendly.

I hired movers when I got to the storage facility we couldn’t get in and had to go back the next morning. I was charged for one hr. Which was $90 dollars and $228 overnight storage fee. Uhaul couldn’t find me in the system even though I had my paper work. I have called the manager and to response from phone or email. Thanks

They charged me for a cleaning fee that was $25 and they took pictures of the dirt that was on the floor mat on the driver's side. Then they charged me $21.40 for a after hours return fee for the uhaul truck. I got the truck from April 2nd to the 8th and I returned it on the 4th?? So I really don't think I should have been charged for that, or any charges especially when there guy manager took us that we did good and nothing was going to be charged to my card.

Becky or Megan managers at that time lied Cut lock off unit lock replaced with Uhaul lock key was sitting in Charlotte I feel as though once lock was cut off for late rent my unit had been entered and riffled through by workers This site do not answer phone calls often nor return call center messages Mailed payment in a second time it hadn't been opened just sitting in drawer SOME STAFF----2018- 2019 STAFF WASN'T ANY GOOD 1/4 HELPFUL. At no point was I told I had to have a round lock until I was already checking in and they're with my merchandise. So I had to leave my personal belongings in the storage unit overnight unlocked because there was nothing open do the seats new hours regarding Cov- 19virus. When I received the truck in Salisbury it was dirty it had less than 3/4 of a tank and then they charged me because she mismarked the gas when I first got the truck. she didn't do a walk-through with me she just gave me the keys didn't check the fuel to see that it differed from what was marked on the paper. So then they charge me for fueling when I put it back as to where it was when I first got the truck. I also had to clean the truck from the previous person because they gave me a dirty truck. and if that wasn't enough they charge me for mileage when she told me it was unlimited up to 50 miles because it was a one-way rental. So next time I think I'll have to go see Penske or somebody else because this end up costing me more than they would have charged me not to mention all the headaches from the moment of getting the truck or trying to get it it was a big nightmare and it continued on to the storage unit. So no I would have to give you less than one star. I had been renting from U-Haul for over 30 years and this was very disappointing not to mention costly of time and money. the only one I can say that was nice was when I picked up the truck the lady was nice and the lady was nice at the U-haul center in the morning of the 29th however the man in the evening of the 28th was very, let's put it this way you could tell he didn't want to be there. Very dissatisfied customer a 30-year customer and you guys blew it on a truck rental and a storage rental.
