After getting assigned to a truck my husband noticed that the breaks were metal to metal BEFORE leaving the parking lot, he had gone back inside to let him know and the man told my husband word for word "that is not my problem." Is this how we do things these days? Rude and unprofessional? How do you allow your employees that you have employed treat customer like this? I own a business, and this would not be tolerated whatsoever. Us needing this truck for the few hours we needed it will be something that will be happening a lot I will go to a different location and pay extra for a larger truck if what I need is not available at a different location before I ever have to not only experience the rudeness from your employee or even have to deal with the disrespect that was given from your employee.

PAMELA T.I picked up the truck and didn't notice the back door was jammed open. The latch the hood the back door down was jammed inside the frame of the door. No one at the location inspected the truck upon its return before I picked it up. I spent a half hour out of my day to fix it. I called about it and the snowflake that works there didn't like being told she didn't do her job. I returned the tech and the guy that was working didn't seem to concerned that that could have interrupted that day I took off to use uhaul to move. I will be using another truck rental company in the future.
Aaron D.Clean the snow off of all equipment that is going to be rented. Make sure the accessories in the truck have there seal and are not missing so customers aren't charged for what they may not use. Fix whatever is causing the steering to be loose on every uhaul truck I've ever rented.
Philip F.First 10' truck had 2 warning lights with an audible warning involving brakes and traction, so I returned to the Beavercreek location and returned the truck. The crew immediately provided a new truck. I went about my business to load the truck. Overnight, after heavy rains, the temperature fell below freezing. The truck's rollup door was frozen and could not be opened. I returned to the Beavercreek location for help to open the door. The crew there quickly solved the problem; we were the 6th truck that morning with the same issue. After final loading, the drive to Tennessee began. About an hour into the drive, the low tire pressure light came on. I found a UHaul dealer who directed me to a UHaul service center. It was determined that the tire pressure was fine and that the sensor was bad, so we continued. Each time we stopped, the alert cleared, but came back on after about 40 minutes. At dropoff in Tennessee, I informed the UHaul dealer of the sensor issue. In summary, I was very pleased with the service and the ability to deal with issues as they occurred.

On the positive side, the young lady staffer was great. She was personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. The young man was also knowledgeable and helpful, but was more dry in his approach. That's not a complaint, but the differences were dramatic. Both were good and got the job done.
WILLIAM M. | Overall ExperienceI never got a call that my order was confirmed or any instructions on what to do from there so I showed up to the address but it was closed and when I checked the website it showed me a different address from what I had on my order email. I went to a different address farther away and had to start everything over. This caused significant delays for my trip and was a huge inconvenience and stress. There was not a lot of clarity on what I needed to do or what went wrong. Why did it let me book a location and time for it to just be closed? Both locations I ended up using were fine and the girl at the pick up location was helpful but this was still not a great experience overall.

However, when I returned the truck 10 minutes before closing that was a different story. The guy inside decided to lock the door before I got up to the door. Even when I was at the door, he didn't even acknowledge I was there. Clearly he was too busy or didn't want to do the work associated with someone returning a truck. Wow...so much for customer service. I dropped the keys in the dropbox then left. Good thing I didn't I have any issues or questions at that time.

The dashboard dings as soon as the door is opened, even before putting the key in the ignition or turning on the lights. Otherwise, it was well maintained - smooth ride and the steering handled very well. As for recommending, I rarely do that.
David J.Parking and maneuvering vehicles is hard due to the tight space. The ceiling tiles were not secure and kept falling in. We put them back up multiple times. Animals were able to get in the unit (mice and raccoons). They do not pro-rate here. Paid for a month on the 13th, moved out on the 19th. No refund of any monies. Employees were polite and friendly.

Another time called to complain and received no call back nor the credit promised. This place is hard to find parking and the staff is not helpful. You have to stand at the door for the locator to know you are there not just in the parking lot or gate. The parking lot had a shared driveway and about 5 spots to park.

Styrofoam and insulation from the ceiling was all over everything and there was water damage from flooding on my items, dirt, dust, stink bugs, webs, everything had to be cleaned off before putting it into the truck. Gilbert H.I reserved a 10x20 unit online. Called earlier in the week prior to my check in to make sure unit was available. The day of check in the guy at the counter tells me he doesn’t have a 10x20 unit and therefore I need to pay more to get a 10x25 unit or I could go somewhere else. In addition, the unit has ceiling damages, bugs and spider webs. Not clean at all. Had to go back to the office few times to get 2 locks because the unit has 2 doors and the guy told me I was wrong. I asked for 2 access card for 2 authorized user and he would only give me one. Plus trucks parked on the access roads all over making getting in and out difficult. Not a good experience overall.

I attempted to file a claim but the general manager told me since we used our insurance and my insurance said they should be rest since it was due to property up keep we were at an impasse. My husband is former military so we have just let our friends know to be sure to take their business elsewhere.

When we arrived, the unit we leased was locked with someone else's lock and blocked with a car. However, the young man at the desk apologized and said that unit should never have been listed as available (their system assigns open units) assigned me another unit & then when I decided it was too small, he changed me to a larger unit, all very patiently. He walked me down to show me where the unit was located and how to used the key pad entry and explained the unit alarms.

Dave W. | Overall ExperienceI moved here in August from Arizona, and reserved a room at the facility by calling the national number. About 15 minutes or so after setting up the reservation, I had Dakota on the phone, politely and regretfully explaining that the national system hadn't synced with his facility, and he didn't have any rooms of that size available. I still remember what I said to him: "That sounds to me like a U-Haul problem, not a "me" problem, call me back when you figure it out." I remember that for two reasons: because I felt particularly clever for coming up with that on the fly, and because Dakota didn't deserve it. He did "figure it out"; he found two rooms of equivalent size, as close together as he could. He was pleasant, and sharp, and responsive that day, and every time I've had to come to the facility since. I've done a fair number of moves because I'm in the military, using U-Haul vehicles and storage regularly. Of all those interactions, Dakota stands out to me in a sea of U-Haul employees who were almost unfailingly good, he was just plain awesome. I can't tell you how much I appreciate his efforts to take care of myself and other customers, and he's an asset to your company. You're lucky to have him.

Had to get a 2nd space at Storage Inns of America. When I went to move this weekend, the UHaul storage area was mice free and no sign of any rodents at all. At Storage Inns of America, there was so much mice feces, my couch and chair and a half are ruined. I called the manager at Storage Inns of America and after explaining what I discovered and the damage to my personal items, no attempt was made to make it right to me. The one thing UHaul could do in the unit I rented was to slap some paint on a place where there was water intrusion at one time and has been fixed since. Other than that, thankful and grateful for UHaul storage.

There was a unit vacant after 45 minutes of phone calls to other locations. Our unit has a broken gutter directly above it. This was a horrible experience and will not recommend nor use facility again.

Was told by the employee that I should have bought the insurance because “at least you could have got some money for your stuff”. Really?! Because I’m pretty sure that won’t replace the memories associated with the items we had to throw away. THOUSANDS OF BUGS! It was disgusting! We hauled our stuff to the trash by hand because I didn’t even want to put it in my vehicle.

My issue is the amount of nails, screws and broken glass within the secured area. And the number of parked trucks/trailers also within the secured area. I actually had to ask for a new unit b/c there was always a truck/trailer blocking the lane and I couldn't get in. Also, oodles of nails and screws laying all over the pavement. I had a flat tire shortly after I rented the unit and I am almost 100% sure it was picked up in their secured area.
