I had to pick up the truck at 9:00AM so I can reach to my appointment but he opened the door at 9:20AM and I had to pay extra because of delay. The guy in Ayer MA was also really impolite. The truck was not cleaned and there were snow and ice all over the place. He did not have furniture pads to rent and he said it's not in my order but I have a proof showing that I have reserved 2 dozen mattress pads. My experience was really bad and I will not use Uhaul anymore.

Should open on time. People are waiting to start a long day. Equipment should not be covered with snow from days earlier snowfall and not have good equipment even for clearing ice off windshield. Should at least check tire before stating that the monitor alert is wrong and the tire is fine.

Due to availability, our location was changed from Pepperell, MA to Nashua, NH. I called UHaul on 11/24 around 9am to see if there would be a closer alternative. A young woman named Ellie was incredibly helpful, found a 15' truck in Ayer. We have rented through them in the past. She made it appear seamless, sent me my confirmation, and we were all set. Ellie is an assett to your business, for sure!

There was no one at the desk when I arrived at my scheduled pickup time. After searching the entire property I returned to the office and waited (10-15 minutes) I called the national office and they called the staffer who was in the adjoining building. He came in and offered no apologies or acknowledgment.

First the van I reserved was down for safety issues, got bumped up to a box truck. Ok but then after I was a 1/4 of the way into my trip the service traction system lights came on. When I tried to return the truck was on the phone with the corporate office for 30min as we tried to wake up the associate by phone,text, and banging on the doors,windows, and walls. There were 3 other customers there waiting with me trying to get trucks and products. Very dissatisfied with my interaction with this location.

Attendant in Ayer MA, Douglas Frenette, was not friendly at all, I was greeted with (Verbatim) “Oh, one more. You will have to wait.”, and continuously made remarks that were out of place. He even mentioned that that was not his store and he was overwhelmed, which was noticeable. The truck needed alignment, as the back wheels were tilted and I had to drive constantly steering to the right. Not safe. Not pleased. Overall, everything was just ok.

I made a resv (spoke to a resv person at UHaul) for a van for 48 hours. Went all the way out to this store only to be told that they could only rent the van to me for 8 hours. Create a big problem for me in moving my daughter. Disappointing.

The rows could use a re-paving, 4” cracks in pavement make it hard to drive a truck smoothly through the rows at any speed. a school bus just outside my unit made it impossible to back up to the unit

I ordered from one location and was sent to another location with very little notice. This isn't the fault of the location, but the fault of Uhaul. I would never use Uhaul again in a situation that where time was critical.

Very convenient location for me and pickup and dropoff went smoothly. I would and have recommended this locations to friends. During my initial contact ,made via uhaul.com, I was told that the Ayer location no longer rented trailers and I was told to use the Nashua, NH location, but a call directly to the Ayer location showed that that information was incorrect and that they had no plans to stop renting trailers. I will deal directly with the Ayer location from now on as it seems like the online information is unreliable.

It was pretty busy when we arrived and upon return of the trailer. There was only one person waiting and while I was completing my rental I had to check the rating on the hitch and when I came in a few seconds later the clerk had starting working on another customer and continued to complete that customer's rental even though I was sitting in the chair. I have not rented in a while and was surprised that they now need to take photos of my ID which I feel is really not necessary. Also the processes took a long time to complete. We really spent more time waiting to rent, complete the reservation and return the trailer that actually using the trailer. Also not sure why all the photos of the ID and the connected trailer to the car are needed. You guys have been pretty successful without and I believe it took longer with it. If there was another option with less hassle and no ID scanning I would go for it but since you guys have cornered the market pretty much I guess I will have to save up and buy my own some day. Thanks

I waited for 30 minutes and no one was there to help. No one. I called the number listed and got a recording. I finally had to leave so left keys and contract. An hour later received an email bill for an additional $140 for ”late return” when I was two days early returning!. Had to spend 40 minutes on phone to three different people to sort it out.

The rep mistakenly changed my rental form a 2 day rental to a 1 day rental. It doesn't appear to have been a problem as I was able to drop off the truck on Saturday with no issues.

Inadequate help as well as false quote. The time it took to get a car dolly was an hr and forty five minuets. This is not a very timely transaction. The return location requested was not the location that was put on the paper. Causing an excessive charge. This was a terrible experience. Really left a poor impression of U-Haul of Ayer, mass.

My overall experience was horrible. My original reservation was for a location in Pepperell, MA at 8AM on Apr 7, which is directly on the way between where i am moving from and to. At 7:35AM, morning of, I received a text message that my reservation was moved to the Ayer, MA location, which is a 15 miles out of the way, in each direction. To do this on the morning of a move, when all other gears are in motion, is downright bait and switch. The only reason i chose Uhaul was because of the convenience. So to switch the reservation at the last minute, making it completely inconvenient (not to mention tacking $30 in mileage onto the rental), while my hands are tied, is just wrong. It gets even worse from here. In an attempt to salvage the move, I reserved a smaller truck at another location that would be convenient, and not out of the way. The reservation was confirmed, and I walked there to get the truck. No one was staffed at this location, and to no avail, the self-pickup would not work. My fiance and I spent 30 minutes in a cold parking lot while I waited on the line with customer care, only to eventually be tossed back into the call queue while the phone was away from my ear, trying what she told me. I eventually relinquished and drove to the Ayer location and followed through with the original reservation. And with no surprise, the worker was 10 minutes late to open the facility and get me the key. For future moves, I will GLADLY book with another rental company. The same run around happened in a previous move, and the up apparent cost savings and convenience are just a veil for the eventual run around and inflated mileage charges.

After the 1800 number made me drive about 50 miles to this location after sending me to a wrong one, I was very pleased with the service. Aisha could not be greater than she was, friendly, polite and works very hard. I was impressed how she handled a busy moment between taking care of customers and organizing trucks, trailers and blankets. She saved uhaul from me never renting ever again from them.

I've rented storage units and trucks from other UHaul locations in the past. Overall the Ayer location was much better to deal with. 24 hour access is convenient and units were clean and dry.

Its not good. The security gate is always broken or vandalized and so made ussless. There are large portions of the outside fence missing or damaged. This is a high crime area and you have no security
