patrick mI did reserve what I needed online. To spend an extra 45 minutes at the retail store to get what I reserved was unacceptable. You should have a way to be able to use the app all the verification process that you require to speed the rental process up.
Sean BThe app restarted multiple times. Wasn't able to complete the turn in and left thinking it wasn't turned in online. Checked the app later and it was completed.
Jay CRented a small covered trailer. First one assigned had broken electric wire dangling in back, discovered by agent hooking it up to my truck. Second trailer was good, but did not match the one shown in photos sent to me to verify condition before accepting. Fixed with app feature offering to take photos of actual rental unit received. The U Haul app for reserving a trailer had a problem: After inputting my home zip code, app recommended a rental location further away than the one I used. I cancelled and re-scheduled to the closer one. Somehow this was mixed up, so no record of my reservation at the closer location when I arrived. And received notice from more distant location as to whether I was going to pick up my reserved trailer. Possible user error on my part, but the problem resulted in a small delay in arranging the rental. The Owner, her assistant and the man hooking up the rented trailer were exceptional people, very helpful and friendly, went above and beyond to take care of me. Well done. Plenty of useful moving supplies available for purchase, well displayed.

Rose C | First ImpressionsThe location is understaffed and every time I rent from here it takes on average 30-40 minutes to checkin and get the equipment I reserved. Adding more people at the checkin counter to help customers would help to improve the rental experience.
James WThe lot was covered in ice. The person who I was helping with the move fell hard on the pavement. The person from uhaul who was helping with the trailer also fell down. She said the manager thought the ice would melt. The trailer itself had 2 inches of ice and snow the uhaul person made no attempt to clean it out. You are fortunate that my friend is not suing you as he has quite a bruise on the base of his spine and is not walking well. I would ask that you compensate me for the trailer rental and the adapter that I had to purchase to use it.

joseph WTrailer “ RV 8824E “ caused a blown fuse in the trailer running light circuit of my truck. The brake and turn circuit was OK. When trailer was picked up on March 11, only the brake-turn-flasher lights were checked, As it was noon time in full daylight. When I was ready to depart, it was dark, and the fault was discovered. It was too dark and miserably cold to troubleshoot the cause of the problem, so stayed in a local hotel. During the following day, the fault was discovered to be in the trailer, and not the nearly-new tow vehicle.
John PThe staff is friendly and helpful. The app doesn't work well for pick up and drop off. Also, I understand asking the customer to wait for the logging in the mileage and the fuel but don't understand why I have to help the staff test the lights and blinkers upon return. That is regular maintenance that should be done on the vehicles. I would love to just drop off through the app but it rarely works well and I have to get help.
Maura MI felt like no one was on the same page, I barely got any type of direction when renting a truck—apparently I was suppose to do a whole check list of things like take photos and such which I found out returning the truck. The gentleman that helped me return the truck was great and really knowledgeable on what to expect if I were to rent a truck again versus what I got when I picked the truck up

Douglas SI own multiple businesses, so it pains me to write a negative review. Maybe I came in with unrealistic expectations, but I've also been loyal to UHaul with multiple rentals every year. I preordered truck and paid for materials. I selected phone/app check in. I expected that truck would be ready to go with purchased materials. Instead I was handed only partial paid for materials (I should have had my own checklist) and didn't realize only until end of day that I had not been given all materials as when I went to return extras, I realized that items had been missing from the beginning. The truck needed a good alignment/balance as there was some good shake at highway speeds. I was assured at start of day no problem to return extra materials, but actually returning seemed to be an impossible mission. I felt really badly making others wait behind me so ultimately left a note with items that I was hoping to return. I've seen no response/refund receipt yet.... All were pleasant, but every employee serving me indicated that they were new/in training and were unusre of themselves. I was nearly handed the keys to the wrong truck and only was not when I indicated that I''d rented a 10' and not a 26'. I would super appreciate action on my returned items and will disccuss this with a manager/owner if you wish to improve.

Teria CThe truck should be taken off of the road. The airbag light came on while I was driving, the steering is loose and the external damage is unsightly. Although it served its purpose, it doesn't feel safe to drive and gives you an uneasy feeling that it could break down at any minute.
Jon MThis was the best uHaul experience I've had (and I've rented a lot). There was no wait at the counter, a quick check in, and I was on my way in less that 15 minutes from arrival. The return took just a few minutes - dropped it, got the email receipt and I left. The only thing UHaul could improve is that I got 4 separate emails from UHaul in 2 minutes as receipts for checking in. Would be nice to get everything in one email, don't need 4 messages.

David MWe did all the paperwork and everything and instead of asking for the license and getting all the answers that you guys need to put down on the computer. He just asked me them individually and. it took way longer and when he was getting the trailer, it was an enclosed trailer and it was not what we asked for. We asked for an open trailer and because it was the last couple of minutes before they closed. We had to just take the trailer and it ruined our plans because everything was way harder to put into the trailer. So we will not be going here again. The other place by Mr. Max is way better.

Steve KNot sure how, as I know I selected S. Willow for my reservation pickup because the mattress I was getting was right down the road at Bob’s Furniture, but somehow the reservation listed Hooksett Rd for pickup. S. Willow, after waiting 10 minutes to just be talked to, exclaimed I could pickup there just as easily and I was happy to convert it to that location. Then, upon requesting a change into a 10’ truck instead of 15’, they replied they didn’t have a 10. It took a half hour just to get to this point as the “system” was having difficulties said to be an IT issue. The woman whom I waited 10 minutes for, got switched to a gentleman, because the U-Haul woman continued what I can only consider to be an hour long conversation with an elderly lady about how to use U-Haul for her needs on her upcoming move. Instead of answering questions, they talked about living locations of them both, and it turned more into a personal conversation than anything to do with business while I waited, and two other people waited in line to be seen. Finally the gentleman came to the counter to help me, and that’s when it took an additional 20 minutes due to technical issues. Then they got me an available 15’ truck, which they were signing me up for. I had to scan my license an additional time as it apparently doesn’t roll over in my created account for U-Haul in the app. After a different lady employee returned, she exclaimed that they could not give me the 15’ because it ties to a different reservation. At first the employees were more or less laughing at the U-Haul experience knowing it was sucky, but after 45 minutes they began to realize the sense of urgency in helping me get a truck. I was able to rent a 26’ U-Haul, the only option, at what was said to be a discounted rate. I don’t see any discounts on my receipts. I just wanted to get out of there so bad I didn’t care and paid. Once they initialized the 26’ U-Haul the lady employee who stepped in had to scan my license a third time. She did this through her own phone to avoid my third burden of this action. Then, they couldn’t find the keys to the 26’ truck. I waited an additional half hour until the keys were located. My rent was Monday, and they said they were aware the keys were missing since Saturday but hadn’t don’t anything to resolve finding them yet. The communication between the U-Haul team the entire time was horrid! One employee found the keys but it took an additional 15 minutes to let the employee helping me know they were found as the employee helping me was still looking for them. In the end I left U-Haul after an hour and a half from the time I walked through the door. Upon unloading the U-Haul at my house my girlfriend noticed a 5 foot long scrape of paint about 6’ high on the driver side of the U-Haul truck. Having a class A CDL in the past I wasn’t worried about getting the additional insurance cost, but now was very nervous they would try claiming I did the damage. I dropped off in Concord and explained the damage was not from me. It was a paint scrape, yellow, and could be removed, but I would have definitely noticed hitting something that would have caused that. We never did a walk around and the truck was presented from the passenger side. All in all this was a terrible experience. Worst customer service I’ve received since I can’t even remember. Made U-Haul look extremely bad, even commented from the gentleman employee to me. I don’t see myself ever renting another U-Haul as I’ll explore any and all other options in my future and it will be my very last choice. I work in customer service, and have since I first started working at 14 years old. I have a business management degree, and am very successful doing a job I love. I’m not sure if it’s the atmosphere that caused the lackadaisical motivation of this S. Willow team, their lack of respect for the company they work for, or even just poor training of their positions. Terrible. I was going to leave and go to the next U-Haul but it would have cost me more mileage and watching this ****show of service became comical and entertaining in the very worst way a company would like to be viewed. Good luck improving your service for future customers, but I will not be one of them. Thanks.

Leo WDoor to get into the building has not worked for quite awhile. Have to wait in line in the front office for awhile to get someone to let me in the broken door. And, people almost always jump ahead of you in line because it is a poor setup. Ramp going in and out of the door (that does not work) is extremely difficult to move your belongings.

You also required that I use your lock, which my key broke off in. The staff told me I HAD to call a lock smith to cut it off, which cost me another $200. Also, the access door to move my belongings in and out was extremely inconvenient. I have had nothing but problems renting a storage unit from you.

I felt awful coming in just before closing time but got stuck at work. But the woman that helped me(I believe her name was Jennie) was amazing! She made the process very quick and stress free. I was in and out with no issues. She was very friendly and helpful. I really appreciate the service that I was given especially right before closing, I’m sure everyone was ready to go home. But never felt rushed or pushed along. Very happy and will absolutely refer U-Haul to friends and family.

I never imagined that it would take me 18 years to move out but illness prevented me from claiming my belongings and getting them down to Florida. U-Haul worked with me long distance over all of these years and I never had to worry about the safety or security of my most precious family heirlooms. I was always grateful to find my things in perfect condition when family would check the storage unit and U-Haul made the check out process simple online. She was always blocking access to people who had storage units who were trying to either bring items in or out of storage. I had to tell her and staff several times to move her vehicle over the course of a couple of weeks. She still didn't listen. I brought it to Management's attention and the issue still going on she needs to move it or she needs to be fired. She's blocking customers from safely accessing and bringing in storage unit items.

The staff was annoyed that I was having issues getting into the building but then realized that the problem was not with me but with the door. They did not want us to prop the door in spite of the fact that I would not be able to reopen it with the key once it was closed, causing extreme problems with getting my items from my truck to my unit. I also thought what I was renting was accessible from the street, however I had to go into a building and use carts to move my belongings in.

I was accused of leaving trash at the location, and they would not give me a refund until she took her sweet time to watch the camera. Finally she came back and told the guy helping me that I could get a refund because the trash was left there the night before. It was the worst experience that I've ever had with any business, and I will never come back! I left out alot, but the whole experience was unreal!

robert m | Overall ExperienceAfter almost 2 years of using this unit, over $4,000 spent on rent, for a CLIMATE CONTROLLED unit, I came back from my military duty to my stuff destroyed, anything cloth was moldy, anything metal had rust or other forms of water damage. The storage building had a leak in the roof over the past year, the roof was replaced, but I was NOT notified, no text, email, or call, to let me know all of my stuff was in water, and my CLIMATE CONTROLLED unit was no longer controlling humidity. This was unprofessional, irresponsible, and downright negligent. Roughly $2,000 in damage came from a simple lack of effort on their part, and then was told that without their insurance on the unit, it’s not their problem, but that the regional manager would be calling me to discuss it, and have not received anything. Again, their lack of communication showing how unprofessional and irresponsible they are for their facility. I will recommend everyone that I know to go somewhere else, and not waste their money to have their stuff destroyed.

Trying to get through to the location itself was always an issue, I’d always get sent to the call center.

One guy was sleeping in his storage that was next to my first storage , then had to park outside because both stall where taking up by guys doing drugs in their cars , smoking and working on his car . I told someone about both Incidence. I didnt feel safe going alone .
Marie G | Overall ExperienceThe day I moved into the facility on my current unit there was snow everywhere making it difficult to move into the facility. I was promised 1/2 off of the unit for all of the issues, however I am uncertain a credit was applied. The sliding electric door was stuck and had to be held open manually. There were numerous tows blocking the entrance and I was unable to access the closest door to my storage unit. I have pictures that document these facts. A $400.00 air conditioner was stolen along with other items and boxes out of a unit I vacated. When I requested a claim be filed for theft I was continuously put off and have dealt with retaliation for speaking up for my legal rights. I was forced to contact the main office and reached someone who finally gave me the regional managers telephone number, as no one would provide the regional managers telephone number to resolve basic issues. Brittani, the Regional Manager was very helpful and professional. I was lied to and treated poorly and bullied by the current S. Willow facility manager, Richard. Before I spoke up in regards to the theft I had no issues with U-Haul. I would not recommend anyone rent from this facility. I am out a $400.00 air conditioner and other belongings that were stolen out of a storage unit I rented. I paid for insurance on the storage unit and the insurance should have covered the theft. After speaking up about the theft I faced retaliation and would never use this facility again. I no longer trust the facility manager, Richard at South Willow Street U-Haul. The previous manager was respectful, kind and caring. The current manager is unprofessional, rude, abusive and does not respect the customers, or honor his spoken words. I am thankful for the Regional Manager Brittani for professionally and maturely handling my concerns, however the fact still remains that a theft took place and U-Haul refuses to take responsibility for this criminal action against me. U-Haul retaliates against those who are robbed at this facility. I have met several amazing young women staff at this facility who went out of their way to provide kind and caring service, however with the current facility manager they are afraid.

Then, not her fault, but she was new and did not know anything. They saw us pull in with the 27foot truck, we told them it was completely full, and the room that we were upgraded to did not even fit our stuff. we had to bring more stuff back to where we are staying, which is definately not the point of having a storage unit. I cannot even walk in there, so there is NO way of me finding anything ever until we move it all out. They should be knowledgeable of what size rooms will fit the trucks that people pull in with. If they knew they did not have a unit large enough to accommodate, I would expect them to get on the phone with a different uhaul in manchester or close by and find one that would be sufficient. If that is not possible, youre better off letting the customer know that rather than having an unhappy customer, because now my finace said he will never use uhaul again. and i really am not happy that i cannot go there to look for stuff when i want it. just saying- not completely her fault, she was new, but she should not have been left in that situation, there should have been someone knowledgeable with her until she was sufficiently trained.

Also, yesterday. I received a final auto pay reminder for July after I checked out of the unit last week. I know it's probably because the two systems aren't linked, but it still could be slightly worrisome to some people. However, a terrific experience overall, especially with the first free month after my move here from Texas and with the ability to get settled into my apartment more gradually and in an organized way. Finally, I get a lot of these kinds of auto-surveys including one for recent service to my Hyundai, and this was the easiest one to use. Too many of these things are attached to some kind of Google or social-media thing that my phone doesn't like. Thanks.
