Well you see, many things went wrong here. The motorcycle trailer that I rented wasn't available and I was not made aware of this until I was already on site (with an appointment to pick something up with said trailer). Then we were offered a different hauling unit but we weren't made aware of some external electrical issue. THEN we rented a bigger van to transport the object and as I was driving it, I realized that NO ONE was moving over when I was using my turn signal so I got out on the highway to check what was going on. The back lights were in fact not working - the brake and the blinker. So Ima go and say that this entire experience was a solid 0/10.

My unit was broken in to, lack of a communication right away, felt like I was getting the run around about the whole process especially about the locksmith coming out. My experience was very traumatic & Disappointing. Would I rent from here again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend family and friends? Absolutely not.

The mobile pick up is supposed to be convenient, but it was not. My reservation was for 10am it took me to 10:45 to get my rental and still had to return it by 2pm, so 45 mins of my rental time was taken up just trying to get it. I should have had my time extend by 45mins at no charge. Because I was there on time to pick up. I did the check in the night before and still had to do the same check in the morning. As well as wait in a que to be approved, to then be given a truck number locate the truck to then be told to go inside to get the key which I had to wait in line for. There was no connivence whatsoever in this process. In addition, the truck was on E(Empty) which is unacceptable. I drove to blocks and the gas light came on thank goodness I was the gas station was 3 blocks away. However the gentleman at the counter and that was doing equipment was very customer friendly.

I had a great experience with this storage facility. My only issue I had was with me being charged for a lock I didn’t ask for. I received a phone call/voicemail explaining that I will be charged for a lock that will be placed on my unit and the lock I already had on my unit was no longer acceptable. Mind you I purchased the previous lock from the facility so to hear it’s now is unacceptable was strange. And when I called back for clarification I couldn’t get an answer. If you will charge patrons for items give them a email heads up a month in advance instead of phone call day of/week of. This experience happened in my last week here. Other than that the rest of my time here was great.

I reserve a vehicle online I get to the store see 6 of the vehicles on the parking lot only to be told they are not available . I then had to get a bigger truck witch coast me more money the system is flawed . The online system should know what's available at the store . Not to mention this was the second time they did this luckily the first time I reserved the vehicle they took the money before I got inside and they had to give me the truck I wanted. On top of that I take the vehicle back between 1pm and 2pm the day it was due back only to get a phone call at 5:30pm to say I did not bring it back . That was unnerving . Called customer service waiting to see what I'm actually going to be charged.

The van was awful! Cat/dog hair all over the 2 seats. The smell of urine in the cab resulted in one of my helpers refusing to ride in the vehicle. When the heat was turned on the urine smell was overwhelming! Had to leave the heat off and windows down !!! Not fit for use!! The smell worsened as truck was being used. Staff reduced cost upon return but truck should never have been placed in service!

The staff member in the Boston Red Sox hat was RUDE when we moved in and again when we moved out. We visited the store during business hours and the door was locked. We could see the employee in the Boston hat through the front window sitting behind the counter on his phone. We politely knocked to get his attention but this employee ignored us swiping through their phone. After we returned to our vehicle, the same employee opens the stores door and begins yelling “is there a problem?”

The corporate and billing is a disaster. I received so many emails, texts and bills to move one box from PA to GA. You delivered it late and never told me, you never credited me my $50 and your people never called me back. I had to get a hotel due to your inability to communicate properly while at the same time sending so many texts I couldn’t count them. Have ONE bill. You are a national company. Figure out how to distribute the money behind the scenes and put on an organized, one company face to the customer even if you behind the scenes you are a mess.

Check the trucks before you rent them out. The truck I rented had a check engine light on and they had to play around with the steering wheel to get it to start. I then had to do that everytime I turned the truck off. Adds extra stress to your day when trying to move. The staff were very nice.

My only complaint is that this rental did not provide enough miles. I paid roughly $170 and they included 133 miles. The two rental locations from door to door are 116 miles apart...17 miles was not enough for us to go to the first house to pack it and drive to the second house to unload, plus we were forced to take a detour and had to go to a gas station to refill. I was only charged an extra $12 for the extra miles so not a huge deal, but enough miles should be included with the basic rental price.

I had scheduled unloading of the U-Box container on site. It wasn't easy to figure out the exact location of where the U-Box would be parked on the day of unloading. Staff in the U-Haul office helped me figure that out. It would be great if there were easy instructions on a webpage with this information.

When I went to return the truck after hours, the app was unable to find my location so I had to call customer service and do it that way. The app is supposed to make it easier, not more difficult. Other than that the staff was friendly and everything was clean and well maintained.

The coordination in the Philadelphia area was great. However, in the Columbia area, the coordination was subpar. I consistently received text notifications about the box/driver's arrival after the had already arrived, despite being informed that the driver will notify me beforehand.

This was extremely convenient and easy to manage! Cart availability was always good and the facilities were SPOTLESS. Never any malfunctioning access issues with key cards, readers, gates or door closers. All in all a very good experience. The ONLY downside is the rough condition of the road leading up to the indoor parking area, paved over the old rails, which I understand is a considerable expense.

The attendant who was "helping us" on Sunday August 20th, at 3pm, was extremely condescending and seemed like we were really putting him out by asking him about storage spaces. After an incredibly frustrating conversation where he basically mocked us for not knowing how things worked at his job... he showed us a space that was unacceptable, and told us if we wanted something bigger we'd have to come back on Monday. We will not be coming back.

I moved out on July 1st not closing me July 12th management didn't do well closing my account I received several notices that my storage was still open and please submit payment I spoke with several people there and it still wasn't handled it wasn't until I called uhaul corporate office for the job to get done my account was finally closed management sucks at this location and you will be put on hold and never they will never come back to the phone.

So upon attempting to move in I was not only told my reserved unit was no longer available I was then also told by an employee that they would not assist me In trying to solve the issue I then proceeded to get help from another employee who was only a driver he then called the supervisor and we were finally able to straighten things out however I was given a different unit of the same size luckily it was right next door to my original one very unsatisfied with the service overall need to pick your employees better maybe with a bit of personality

This was a horrendous experience. After researching, planning, and coordinating for 6 weeks, i rented a (local) truck and was eligible for a free first month's rent for a storage unit. When I came in I was told no, I have to pay 1st month's rent and 2nd month is free. Huh? I'm told 1st month is free with a one-way truck rental. A true "bait & switch" I canceled and rented a one way truck. While I was clearly frustrated, these girls handled it well. I also filled out additional paperwork that the girls at the counter said they'd hold onto as we agreed I'd be back later. I arrived later and had to refill out the paperwork. The gentleman at the counter at this time was absolutely miserable. He even threatened to not do business when I complained about having to refill out their paperwork, for the 2nd time today. Instead of an apology, he says no one told him anything. This paperwork is also repeating information already available from my Reservation. How am I not surprised? The employee name on the paperwork is Ash Fayia. Not sure if this is who I was dealing with. I also reserved a drive up unit and ended up with an inside one. Another bait and switch. Oh, and after all the effort I made he tried to charge me for first months rent again despite me pointing out over and over that I had a truck rental, I had to repeat myself again that I'm getting the storage unit for the free first months rent. Wow, it really shouldn't be this difficult. Uhaul is diy friendly and the employees should be there for help. They aren't really needed but then they get in the way. Really sad.

There was a leaking pipe above my storage area which damaged some of my property. They amount of mice feces I found inside and on my belongings was disgusting. There was even a dead mouse inside of my unit when I was retrieving my items. The amount of phone calls on the day my rent was due or if it was last was incessant. They even went as far as to find my mothers number, one I did not provide them with to inform her that I was late on my payment. That information should have never been shared with her.

The Unit I was originally offered Had a padlock , So I was allowed to take the unit that was right next To it. After 5 days I cleaned and moved my stuff out of that unit, Went downstairs to the office and told them that the unit was empty and I was out of there. A few weeks later I received an email that my views were coming up for my unit, I replied that I no longer had a unit I had moved out 5 days after I got it and had informed them that I was out. Then all these annoying phone calls and voicemails would come into my voicemail telling me that I am going to be late and that I'm late for my unit. After calling back I was Connected connected with Au haul operator Explained to them that I no longer had a unit I was out there 5 days after I had got it and I was getting these calls , She called And connected me With the Location where the unit was , Again I explained to them that I only had the unit for 5 days and was out of there and had notified them in the office, But this did not stop the phone calls from coming in week and another week later Everyday leaving me messages on my phone about my unit being late.

I used this unit 3yrs ago, paid my bill faithfully during the last month of usage I explained I wouldn't be able to keep it anymore and would like to turn it over, he became very upset and nasty and said no I would have to pay the price. Then he locked me out and I didn't have access to the unit he said until I paid the money which wasn't even due yet. Check my record if you can. Overall it was a bad experience and poor buisness.

I booked a storage unit and moving truck through the U-Haul app and customer service. U-Haul was running a promotion where if I get a storage unit and rent a larger moving truck that I agree to drop off at a different location, I would get one month free storage so I agreed to purchase the larger truck. On my scheduled move in day (10/10/22) I picked up my truck, loaded all of my belongings and headed to my storage unit. When I arrived at the U-Haul storage location ( U-Haul Moving & Storage At Quartermaster Plaza, 2990 S 20Th St Philadelphia, PA 19145) with my reservation number(808028-00117654) I was greeted by a staff member (Shanon) with a extremely poor attitude(as if I was bothering her by asking her to do her job). I completed my paperwork and a second associate walked me to my storage unit where we discovered that the unit was occupied and secured with a lock. The associate explained that sometimes customer illegally occupy storage units. When we returned to the front desk I was told by Shannon and Andrew (manager) that there was nothing they could do to rectify the situation. I asked why the storage unit wasn’t inspected before listing it as available and whether there was another storage unit they could give me, the answer was no. I left the store very upset and full of anxiety as I steered at my U-Haul truck full of my personal belongings and faced with a 12pm return time for the truck that day. I called customer care who was very accommodating by providing me with another storage unit at this location that was slightly larger for the same price. I reentered the store happy to share my new reservation (22392870) with Shannon just to learn that the 2nd unit was a utility room that occupied 2/3 of the unit space. At this point I spent almost three hours trying to resolve storage issues with U-Haul and had to contact another company Cube Smart) to store my items and return my U-Haul truck on time. I was able to reserve, show up to complete paperwork and move into my storage unit at Cube Smart in an hour with no problems. I returned the truck to the location outlined in my contract but unfortunately will not be able to receive the discount I was expected to get and overpaid for a larger truck for the promotion when the $19.99 pickup truck would have sufficed. The customer service intake people should have stressed to their customer's who are seeking storage for the customers' belongs. To purchase "Renter's Insurance." There are holes in their storage container walls in which "Rats" do come into the storage containers which houses your belongs. They chew through cardboard, leave their poop, & urine is everywhere in your things. So if you're going to use U-Haul storage containers. " Make sure to use Rubber containers was with lids or clear storage bins with locking down the lids. "Do Not Use Cardboard!!!!!" Or store your belongs at your own risk. Have a safe & a blessed day.

There was a pole that took 2 sq. ft. out of the storage causing me to cancel the transaction. This establishment is a embarrassment. All of the employees are clueless. I ask for a bigger unit they tell me please come back when the supervisor is here. I guess no one knows how to use the computer and look up what’s available? I was also having trouble with my lock, I ask if they were able to cut it . the guy told me come back tomorrow when my supervisor is here. so I come back I talk to the supervisor she tells me oh no one is here to cut the lock come back Monday. I come back Monday and it’s the same story again no one is here to cut the lock. Very Incompetent people. It’s a shame. The lightening is horrible it’s a sensor light and never turns on, at least where my unit was, also every 10x10 unit has a column/ beam in the middle or side that takes up room in your unit. They also raised my unit price by $10 for no reason. From $140 to $150. Ultimately it was a bad experience. I went over to Public Storage and it’s way better. Cleaner the lighting is great there is also lights inside the unit.

Honestly I’m very disappointed with the condition of this location storage units. They were dirty, smelly , and unsafe; along my way to the storage I rented but didn’t use because there’s a rodent problem to point they have to put traps down I noticed an awful smell to which I asked the CSR (customer service representative) what it was and we were told that they believe someone put a animal of some sort ( probably a hamster ) in their unit and it died but they weren’t really quite sure. Another thing as to why I’m giving this location the lowest rating possible is because I was having issue with my account; I cancelled my account with them prior to my next bill date( almost a month in advance for reference) and yet I was still getting emails stating how I was going to get charged a late fee. I ended having to call not one but two times because my account wasn’t “closed” out and afterwards was still getting emails and letter stating how I’m late on the payment . Honestly I believe this location needs to be under a different supervision because whoever is the general manager right now is not doing their job correctly.

Some of the worst customer service we have experience in our lives. We moved across the country and picking up a truck and dropping it off was supposed to be the easy part and uhaul made it absolutely horrendous. I have never stood in front of a person for 5 minutes waiting for them to even acknowledge my existence while they sit at the desk and pretend like I am not there. Zero communication, zero information about our rental. Not a single person at the uhaul facility in quartermaster plaza in Philadelphia had any idea what was going on with our reservation drop off, payment info, refund info. They did not even seem to know anything about their own facility. Prices, storage unit locations, hours. How do you run a business like that? Serious question. We have paid uhaul close to $3000 for the worst moving experience of our lives. We returned the uhaul with hundreds less miles than estimated and with more gas in the vehicle then when we picked it up and we still have not heard anythinf about being refunded the difference in the cost we originally paid. We are not going to let this go because It is truly unacceptable and something needs to be done about it. At the bare minimum, we need to be refunded for the difference in mileage/gas from the original payment versus how many miles we actually drove. The guy working the desk spent more time on his iPhone than trying to attend to my needs. When I finally got a 10x10 until it was one with 3x3 of it taken up by a internal metal tube taking up a very large space of my alleged 10x10 rental area. There was also a large human feces in the unit itself, one I reported and asked to have removed. I’ve no idea if this has been done due to the employees disinterest in his job and fascination in his iPhone tiq toq or. Whatever kept his attention more important than me as a customer.

Worked well for what I needed. I unloaded ink es for storage and then loaded them again for a move. U-Haul box location isn’t convenient for the storage area, but I’m not sure how common it is to unload the crates into a regular storage unit. Seems like there should be a way to make this process more convenient for the customer. I realize it’s a warehouse, and mice are common but my belongings had mouse feces and urine all over it. You might want to treat the area. Staff seems happy and very helpful, although always very busy and wait times were long.

A dead rodent and rodent droppings were found all over my storage unit. When i mentioned it, the staffperson swept up the dead rodent but refused to sweep the open space, then was rude and uncooperative. A claim nor an followup took place the day of the incident. Didnt get a call back. Had to call back multille times before claim was opened - amd still never received any feedback about the claim. I ended my strage contract sooner than I wanted to because of this.

The front desk officer was not helpful at making the process smoother. The storage unit was difficult to access. It took us a long time to get in the unit and then found out the unit we were assigned to was locked… so we had to wait to be reassigned another unit which was more expensive since it was the only one available left. Shortly after I moved in 6years ago there was construction done on the building and my unit was a mess had to make an insurance claim to get my unit cleaned. Lighting was no and off in my area. Horrible experience. I reserved a 10x7 unit in June for a august move in. My reservation wasn’t honored and the had no more 10 x7s available. After 90 minutes they gave me a 10x7 that was reserved by someone else. This unit had a uhaul lock on it for 3 weeks and they couldn’t remove it. Don’t know why. They don’t keep bolt cutters around??? I said I shouldn’t be charged rent for those 3 weeks the employee refunded my money and started over with rentinG a different unit The manager finally steps out of his office after hearing the employees struggling to fix the issues and reprimand him for refunding my money and spoke down to me as it was my problem that I didn’t let him know there was a problem getting into the unit. It would have been different if they had a key to remove the lock but couldn’t give access to the unit. It doesn’t matter if I physically started moving stuff in 3 weeks after I rented it.. the employees didn’t follow up at all to make sure it wasn’t and issue. They forgot about me as soon as I walked out the door. And the manager/ owner was a jerk

After leaving the customer service area, I forgot to inquire about moving the due date to the 21st of the month. So, when I called back after returning back to my house. I called U-thul, I was put on hold for a couple of minutes, and the customer service representative answered the phone. This young man had an accent voice. I said to him that I just left the customer service area with my son and I wanted to move the due date back to the 21st of the month. He said to me that I would have to pay another month's rent in order to change the due date. I told him never mind and I hung up the phone.

No one ever wore masks when I was in the office, or they put them on as I walked in. I moved all of my items out the day my next payment was due, but they would not let me end my lease because I didn't provide 24 hour notice. I understand that those are their terms, but they were able to end my lease and chose not to so they could acquire another month's rent. I confirmed this with corporate. Also, I had to come back from over an hour away to remove the lock a month later. Now, I'll make sure I never use Uhaul storage again because I'd rather pay more and have better customer service.

This is the only location i will never go to ever again. My friends and family will all be told to stay away from here. I was disrespected over and over again. clean, nicely maintained. handy keypad access and ability to drive in and unload. one quibble: u-haul needs to tell customers making a reservation that a particular u-haul lock is mandatory.
