This location was great, the Cheshire location was awful.
Derrick DDo I get reimbursed for extra gas left in tank? Started with 1/4 and returned with over half of tank.
Micheal GWhen I got into the truck it smelled like cigarettes. I had to spray it down because I had to put kids in their. I turned on the car and the engine like was on. I told the girl about it, thinking she would be kind enough to give me a new truck. She told me all the trucks were like that. When I was driving on the hwy doing 55-60 the steering wheel began to shake, making me extremely nervous and feeling unsafe. The alignment was definitely off a little because I had to tough at the wheel at times. Also, when I called to reserve the truck the representative told me I had to use a credit card to reserve it but I asked if I could pay cash. She told me sure . When I got to the uhaul, the lady there told me I had to use card and that they don't take cash anymore. I was a upset because my debit card has not arrived in the mail and I had to use my credit card. I only use it for emergencies. Everything was done online which took a long time. I actually text the agent to ask them how much longer. Now I've had a good experience with uhaul in the past. But this time was awful.

Rhomda TThe front gentleman was very pleasant but afterwards seeing the tank almost empty should have put gas , I could have been stranded. Very small location. Hard to maneuver truck. Clean inside but barely any room to walk to desk.
CATALINA CThe associates working at the location were as helpful as possible. They were limited to teaching everyone who came in to do the check in on cell phones. This was a frustrating process for everyone at the location. One major delay was the approval process for the final step. Providing a contact person and cell phone for them and then the approval being delayed or 15 minutes.

Kimberly SI didn’t get the man’s name that assisted us at the counter unfortunately (he was assisting us on Friday 3/15 at about noon) but just wanted to let UHaul know that he was absolutely extraordinary and an enormous asset to your company. He helped us patiently and professionally during check in and check out and honestly made what would have been a stressful day so much more pleasant and completely set the tone for our moving experience. I will recommend everyone I can to UHaul Meriden because of him! Thank you so much to that gentleman! You made our day!

WARREN BThe installer did a fantastic job with the install, was very polite and showed me how to use it and where everything was. His work was very clean! However I was not informed by the manager that I had to clean my van out and because of that the install took almost 6 hours and the manager felt a little rude. I had to postpone my work trip till the next day.

Lakina AWE register online and fill everything out as requested. This is our third time we used us for work. Why does it still take 30-40 minutes when picking up and returning??? I'm paying allot of money for my guys to do this and it cost me money.

You really need to have Kiosks available for people to use. I understand the desire to reduce the number of people in the facility, but you are losing the personal touch.

Edgardo BEquipment was at two different locations, and this one wasn’t even one of them. It ridiculous to travel 45 miles across the state, to three U-Haul locations to start a move.

ruth hWhen I arrived at the location I could not do an in-store experience. I was told I had a choice of in-store pickup or online. It told me to pickup the vehicle at another location. When I got there, the lock box for the key was not properly locked, the vehicle was unlocked and the driver door was not fully closed. Worst of all the vehicle was almost on E but I was charged to fill up the tank entirely when I returned it at the same fuel amount that i picked it up with. Overall made my move that much more stressful.

Andrew HI don’t like the fact that I was force to try to do everything online because according to the person in there that’s how everything is now. Even seen that the website wasn’t allowing me to do it. He kept insisting to do it online. So I lots an hour and a half of the time of the rental because it wasn’t letting me do it, until it did let me. Then the guy said truck was full completely, but it was not. I couldn’t do anything because it was closed already. Rented for 24hrs but left it at the location within 2 hours and a half. So not the best experience!
BURGOS MThe online portal is the absolute worst garbage I’ve ever seen. The portal would not let me rent, and the guy at the store would not rent and kept forcing me to use the portal. This is probably the last time I ever use U-Haul. The truck had over 130,000 miles on it. It sounded so loud I couldn’t even hear traffic. Just a terrible garbage experience that I’ve come to expect from U-Haul.

Brian MThe sun visor was broken, the tire pressure sensor was on in the truck, and the windshield wipers did not work so I had to drive in the rain with almost no visibility, when I called the store they didn’t show any concern or offer any viable solutions. Very disappointed in the customer service.

susan m | Overall ExperienceIssues with entering the unit had I waited until after hours which I had planned to do I wouldn’t have had access to the until to unload the truck we rented in time for the next day return. My code didn’t work to get in so I called the office and they were open I had to go get a card to get in I go back down to the unit and there was a note stating there was a lock included but not in the unit itself I called the office again, same person I spoke to about access, she stated I had to go back up and retrieve the lock… just a bit annoyed with the customer service and lack of attention to detail.

I was not informed that i would not get a unit size as requested and reserved and only found this out the sat of my move which made the situation stressful. The facility did not even have the unit size that I needed. I then needed to reserve TWO smaller units at a combined higher price than I wanted/needed to pay. There are rodent boxes in the units that may me feel extremely uneasy to store my important and meaningful personal belongings.
