On 02/06/2014, Tuesday, I went to my storage unit to move out the last of my stuff. Upon driving through the security entrance, another car that was parked out front, pulled up behind me and tailgated his way into the facility. After packing some boxes into my auto, I went to the restroom and saw a homeless guy dressed very shabbily with a shopping cart full of his belongings inside the fence of the facility. I felt uncomfortable, because I thought that this was supposed to be a secure area, but he didn't bother me and pushed his cart along his way.

The gentleman was extremely short tempered when giving directions or answering questions. Like I should have known which vehicle he wanted me to pull behind. Also I dropped the trailer off early and he was also short tempered when I was asking questions, like I was dumb or bothering him with questions. The two incidents were 5 hours apart so this was now related to any specific issues

They cheated me out of money for the gas and fees they added on. I have pictures of the truck being returned with the proper gas and clean. Never never again. And I’m gonna close the 3 big storage units because of this. Horrible service and horrible escalation teams that never get back to you. Horrible company and location U-Haul does care at all how their locations are run as long as they see money. No matter how they always find a way to add and add more charges.

I've never been to this location so I had no clue how to enter into the gate. I wish there was some type of heads up of how the gate code would be given. I didn't know to start the check in process first in order to receive the gate code. Would have also liked the gate code to be texted/emailed to me so that I don't have to go searching for it to get back in and out of the gate after I was finished with the Uhaul. (which I still didn't find it. Someone else let me in) This was possibly the worst experience of using Uhaul.

When I rented the truck the fuel light was on and the back up camera did not work In addition, the tire pressure light was on and the Uhaul representative told me I would have to go to another store to have the tired filled because their air compressor was not good enough. After filling the truck up with gas I had to call roadside assistance to deal with the tire. The tire was not just low in air. It had a faulty valve stem which required replacing to make the truck road safe. This caused a several hout delay in packing the truck and getting on the road. I find it very irresponsible of Uhaul to rent trucks that are not properly maintained or road safe. Very disappointing experience.

This location was very convenient for me and kept my stuff secure, however, every time I went into the office there was no one there. This happened 3 times over the course of 6 months I went into the office, having rented a truck or needing assistance and no one would be there, or came when I yelled or called the main phone line. They either need more staff members or need to put up a sign when they are not going to be behind the desk.

This location is very confusing and difficult to access. It took me a very long time to access my rental and wasted my time for about an hour. The worst part is the overcharges that they made next day. This is almost a regular issue with uhaul that they have strange tendency to keep overcharging people.

I reserved the van on thr app, but when I got there, there was no van available. Fortunately, someone returned a van while I was waiting for the attendant to look for one elsewhere. When I completed the rental. I was told that I would only have the van for 3 1/2 hours.

I had scheduled for a move in on Friday but wasn't able to pick up the truck until the next day. We picked up the truck and got back to the U-haul place our storage had a lock on there so we could not get in, and then they switched me into another unit at closing time,so when we got to the storage unit it was very small and I couldn't put anything in there so they had closed and I was stuck in the parking lot with all my stuff in the truck and they were already closed and it wasn't anything I could do but leave my stuff overnight in the truck, this is the worst experience I ever had from Uhaul I'm not too sure about ever using this place again.

I have rented many times, and this location is the best - Good individual service, little 'add-ons' like a lock for the truck door plus the window shade are great touches. This is the place I will rent trucks from the future. Highly recommend.

My belongings were in storage at this facility for 20 months while I was building a small house. I rather dreaded getting them out of storage because of past experiences that weren't so good. However, as I rearrange furniture and unpack household goods, I find no damage attributable to their storage. Access was easy and the employees were pleasant and helpful. It was especially helpful to those who moved my belongings to have access to the rolling platforms that carried so much more than either an individual or a standard two-wheel dolly could carry. That made things both easier and faster!

I can honestly say that returning the truck was a miserable experience. The attendant was not helpful, he told me to go park my own truck behind some other trucks, so i did ... and I had to go around a huge building, do a 8 point turn to go back to where he told me, and then he changed his mind. I then had to back up down an alley, do a 90 degree turn, another 8 point turn, and park it elsewhere. In addition, he couldn't put together a single sentence without slurring words. He couldn't tell me where to put my key, he wouldn't check me out, it was a nightmare. I finally just left.

The drive-thru is not clearly marked once you get between the buildings for the interior sets, there was essentially a traffic jam trying to get through and around to enter and exit. Not sure what's going on with the complimentary loading beds, but couldn't find them on a busy Saturday, I guess that would probably be why.

My keys got locked upstairs because the elevator stopped working and the GM told me it was nothing she could do and she wasn’t coming to help so she didn’t know what to tell me so I had to call the fire dept to get in the building for me. I’ll never use Uhaul again

Customer service needs to improve and sense of urgency. Waiting time was awful and reserved my van for 2 and did not get it until 2:30. Door was locked when I arrived and no one to assist. Delivering my keys took about 30 minutes. Awful experience. Get better.

I received a bogus receipt yesterday for a service I never ordered. I am seriously concerned about the security of your data base if my account can be used or accessed by another customer. Thankfully, I had no credit or debit card saved in my account, otherwise I might be fighting a fraudulent charge to my account and have to cancel my credit card. I am preparing to move in a few weeks, but I will look for a different company that provides actual account security for their customers.

I rented a 20 foot U-Haul truck from the University of Texas location. I noticed an interior light was on behind the driver seat and I could not get it off. I stopped and tried everything. I went on with the move at the end of the day after the move was over. I went back in the truck and it wouldn't start, as usual whole times to speak to anyone at U-Haul is long long long long I was informed to get roadside service I need to go to the app which I did. It continued to ask me the same thing over and over and over. I submitted it three times and finally I just said in GET over here the battery is dead." If not, I'm going to leave it and I'm going to take an Uber to my house" . By now it was 7:15 PM. I finally received a phone call from a subcontractor saying he would be there in 20 minutes to jump the battery or go and get a new battery. He showed up he jumped it off so I returned it never to EVER EVER EVER Use U-Haul again. Their employees are very nice but the wait times are horrendously long and unbelievably as much money as UHaul makes their call centers should be within 3 to 5 minutes answering the day I moved. I had a problem prior to the battery no start problem and I held for an hour goodbye Uhaul

And I think I made a mistake by taking safe move.. Next time I wouldn’t prefer uhaul but if I prefer your service I’m going to record a video for proof! Seriously this isn’t good customer service

Unbelievably horrible experience I was there for over an hour, the attendant was supremely incompetent and they gave me a truck instead of a cargo van, charged me the wrong amount and almost made me lose a client because I was so late. The bathroom was out of order and I was trapped waiting for them to get it together for 75 minutes. Awful. Awful. Awful. Disgraceful.

I was assigned the wrong size unit. I showed up and unloaded items up the elevator to the second floor to find I had been assigned a elevated locker space 4 plus feet off of the ground instead of the 5X5X5 unit I was sold by the agent. When I approached the front desk I was told (through the mail slot by the employee) it was time for them to close and I would need to load all my stuff up and return the next morning so they could try to straighten it out. Very dissatisfied with the service.

There were rodent droppings in my unit when I moved my stuff, and the walls of the unit were not very clean. I don't think I would have put my stuff here if we hadn't been in a rush to get it done. The temperature was 60 when I was moving my stuff, so I hope nothing got damaged by the freeze. Temperature control does not seem to work. I was willing to pay for this place as long as it was cheaper than other options, but when the price went up I had to go.

I've got no complaints with the service at the facility I rented from. The clerk was patient with my technical difficulties and assured me that he'd fix his mistake with the return time when I came back and the next morning I got a notice that my order had changed to what I needed it to be. I got one of the last two moving vans just walking in after 6:30. I'm not impressed by the online check in check out experience. I've learned from experience that the picture upload doesn't work in Firefox, which is my default browser. My text app doesn't let me select the links out of text messages, so I have to open the link in Firefox and then copy the URL to paste in Chrome. And then I still had performance issues when checking out. This time I installed the U-Haul app to try to use that instead but it didn't give me the option to check out in the app, and when I went into the app to return, it immediately directed me to the website. If you won't support Firefox, please at least let me stay in the app for the entire rental process.

The access hours were extremely inconvenient the sign literally says 24/7 and the sometimes at 5pm the gate wouldn’t open. My unit was on second floor and the week I had to move my bed, couch and most of the boxes from my house the only elevator in the building was broken (it was broke for an entire week)

I was given an access card and told access was from 5 am to late evening. When I was trying to move out, the hours changed and I was not made aware of these changes, so friends srranged their time to help me, and not be with their families and we all had to wait till 9 am to get started. That is not user friendly. I am aware of the vandalism in a left leaning city. I know how an inconsiderate person with malintent can disrupt business. Uhaul has no excuses for this change in access and to NOT NOTIFY its clientele since most have email addresses registered. Staff is very friendly and most helpful. 5 stars to staff.

Learned my lesson. Only one elevator. Took forever. Took what should have been an an hour and a half job and made it at 4 hour task. Exceedingly hard for moving truck to navigate the very tight space. Moving truck was locked in- and it was not even time for the facility to have been locked up.

Met with general manager to set up storage unit 3 weeks before I moved from TX to CA. Communicated to her that I would be storing a couch for a friend to receive since I'd be moving to Cali and my friend would be relocating to Tx in 3 weeks. She never mentioned that would require the friend to be listed as an authorized user. When my friend showed up to retrieve the couch she refused him access since he was not listed as an authorized user. I assumed this would be something simple to resolve. When I called to her to understand how to resolve this, she was extremely rude and told me I should have listed him as an authorized user and offered no solution. She didn't even give me the opportunity to amend the contract to list him as an authorized user nor did she advise me that I could simply go online and add him as an authorized user. Instead, she offered no solution and said he would not be given access at all that day no matter what. After calling corporate (no help) I figured out that I could add my friend as an authorized user online and did so. When my friend returned that same day, she let him have access no problem. This is one of the most disturbing customer experiences I've had at Uhaul. I have spend thousands of dollars at Uhaul in the past couple of years. Offering a customer no solution to a problem that is very simple to solve can be easily avoided and handled more professionally. You can imagine how big of a problem this is for me given that I'm now located in California. The GM made it seem that I would have to fly to Texas just to give him access. By no means do I want this GM to be punished, just simply trained better. Thank you.

This was a nightmare of an experience and I won’t be using Uhaul ever again. On 12/8 I booked a 20’ truck, a tow dolly and a 10’ x 15’ unit on the ground level. When I get to the facility on 1/3 I’m told I can’t drop the equipment off there (even though that’s where I was told to drop it off at) and I don’t have a reservation for a storage unit. Lisa, the facility manager, said she could see what’s available though. Here’s where it gets weird. Lisa found a 10’ x 30’ on the ground level that was “available” but she had to check that it was really available. Why would the system say it’s available when it’s not? The problem is, none of her codes were working so she spent an hour trying to get to the unit. A full hour. 30min of which was spent on the phone talking to the manager, Joi, about things that were completely irrelevant to getting access to the unit. She told me to drop the tow dolly off down the road and come back and she would have a unit ready for me. When I get back, she still hasn’t looked at the 10’ x 30’ unit because of the access code issue. Finally, 1.5hrs later we get to the unit and it’s not available. Then we spend another 30min trying to get to a 10’ x 15’ unit on the 4th floor. We get there and it’s too far back, it wouldn’t work. I booked a ground level unit because it was the only thing that would work for what I was unloading. Meanwhile I have two people I’m paying $100 an hour waiting 2hrs for Lisa to tell me she doesn’t have a storage unit. Finally I decided to book a unit at an Extra Space down the road. It took 5minutes for them to book me a unit. Why was this so difficult for Uhaul? Why wasn’t my reservation in the system and why couldnt the facility manager access the building? Why do you have units showing as “available” when they’re not. This was a major waste of time and money. $200 down the drain because Uhaul dropped the ball. This is the last time I’m using Uhaul.

My first time rented a 3x3x3 unit with U-Haul. When I got to the facility, it was very confusing to know which entrance leading to the whereabouts of my unit. When I finally figured it out & use the elevator to get to the different floors, I was having a hard time locate my unit. I was about to give up & call for cancellation to try a different storage facility, but I was lucky to run into 2 young ladies working for uhaul. They went out of their ways to explain to me, leaded me to my rental unit, & even helped me exchange for a lower level unit since I was too short to reach the original rental unit

On-line process was very easy. The only issue I had was driving around the property itself. One way in and out of the property in an area that is narrow, as is the back road. My unit is in the middle building and it's made narrow by the U-Haul trucks that are parked there. The whole design/layout of the property doesn't make it easy to navigate around, especially if you have a large vehicle or towing something. While moving some items to my unit there was a U-Haul truck being unloaded and it was parked at an angle that I couldn't drive past it as it was blocking the road. I asked the one person if they could back the truck up enough for me to leave and she said they didn't have the key to it, that the person in the office had it.. I ended up having to back up my vehicle and driving around the back to get out as I didn't have time to track that person down. Other than that, the process and instructions were easy to follow.

Also the codes were finicky and worked to get into unit but when I needed to leave didn’t work to get out of the gate so I got stuck. This was my experience. I rented a unit there for about three months or something like that. I went to remove my items and I had many things I was giving to Habitat for Humanity Restore, but they could not get there until the day after my rent was due for the following month. I returned to U-haul and they said that was unacceptable. I told them I was moving out of state and ask them if there was some kind of form I could sign releasing the items that were in the unit and was told no. about 2 months later I received a call from the manager there, she told me I could have signed a release so they could have gotten rid of the items and that would have been the end of it and she sent it to me in the my e-mail. I told her at the time that I had ask to do that when I was there the last time before I left. I received no cooperation from the young man that was there and was told that U-haul did not do that. Long story short I signed the release form e-mailed it back to them and they did nothing with it obviously. I continued to receive bills in the mail and I sent them e-mails stating that I had signed the release for them to dispose of the items however they wished, but they continued to try to bill me for the space until they finally auctioned it off. Something needs to be done with the complete lack of communication at that facility and the obvious disorganization. In one of my e-mails I ask them if they did not receive the form releasing the items to them to dispose of the items left in the space, but they never responded to that. The only reason they could call or send letters was to harass me about paying rent on a unit that I had signed the form releasing to them months and months before. I will never rent a unit or a truck from U-haul again as a result of this.

I had two units at this facility. The facility is full of rats. After leaving out poison, we had the mess of removing dead rats and the filth. The office is rarely on property. They leave out a sign that says returning in 1.5 hours and that is usually not correct. We have been stranded inside several times. The last time was for two hours and we called the emergency number using the entry pad with no results. Cars seem to be parked all over the property. I am assuming that they rent spaces to these cars but it makes it hard if not impossible to drive through with a trailer. I have contacted corporate about several matters and they have yet to make any changes. We completely move to of both units to another nearby storage.

Only complaints are that I wish I didn't have to fill out a whole new contract since I have a contract / unit there already, and that it was made clearer that "online ready to move in" meant "the lock is already in the unit." No big deal but would have really polished off the experience. Other than that everything was great.

Locking handle to unit I was assigned was broken and mangled and made it super frustrating to get in and out without cutting myself. Lady who assigned me the lock was super short with me and even took a personal call while to interrupt me getting my unit. Informed me the day of my truck rental that it was on the other side of the freeway at a different uhaul even though I specifically reserved the truck at this location. Sloppy and disorganized!

I called to speak to a manager it took two weeks to get a hold of Joy. She never called me back. When I finally reached her by phone she gave me her cell and told me to call her back. I text her. She text me back "I'll call you back soon." She still has not called me back and my issue/problem has not been resolved it's been a month now.

I had a unit booked in a certain size and they didn’t have it when I got there. They wanted me to buy a bigger one which was more expensive. It took forever to get them to give it to me at the same price because they messed up my reservation. They also didn’t know how to give me the discount and it took forever. I rented a uhual trailer 2 times recently, racking up a free month of storage each time - as is marketed constantly by uhual - then came time for me to use my free storage and they only let me redeem 1 month. There is zero marketing that says the free storage is not stackable, an employee even said I could but the manager decided no. I moved my stuff out of your business and paid another company to store my belongings as a result. Not impressed
