Jay HActually have the truck ready. I am an older woman I had to haul the packages of cover pads myself across the parking lot, find my truck, put the pads in and take the cardboard window covering down. I’ve never encountered such poor customer service at U-Haul before.

joe kThe U-Haul app was a bit difficult to use in the beginning, so I had to go into the location to pick up my truck. For some reason though, the drop off using the app was much smoother. I didn't mind going inside, but would have rather used the app from beginning to end.
Michael MRented a car trailer. My car has sports suspension and we ran the bottom right into the trailer. Haven’t had chance to get repair estimate, expect a couple thousand cost to repair damage. U Haul should have better metrics on what cars can go on their trailers.

The staff are friendly, professional and go out of their way to help the customer! The vehicles are clean and well maintained. In 35 years I've never had any issues with U-Haul's staff or vehicles. Keep up the good work ladies and gentlemen, it's always a pleasure doing business with you!

Jim HThe staff at Deer Valley were incredible! Originally I was scheduled to pickup at the Anthem location. Received a phone call that the van that was supposed to be back was not available. They asked if I could pick up at Deer Valley. I then asked that was ok as long as I could drop off at Anthem. They said no problem. Upon returning the van to Anthem I was informed in a very poor manner that I would be unable to return the van at their Anthem location.
MARK MThe equipment was returned by me in a much cleaner condition than I received it. The pictures I was sent were not representative of the condition when I picked it up. There were pine needles and black resin all over the trailer. I was also charged an extra day because I waited to turn the trailer in when the returning facility was open. I was not told I could return it earlier. I also was not told how long the rental period was. I assumed there was a check in procedure that could only be done when the facility was open. I was only given two days and I actually picked the trailer up on Saturday and returned it on Monday. So if you cannot refund my money, at least have your associates inform the renter how long the rental period is and the structure of the return procedure.

Randy MI just want to make sure both units are canceled. I didn't cancel one unit as I still had a week left on it. Do you give me a refund for the week I already paid for? I sent Manager Garcia multiple emails throughout my time there about a couple refunds and left two different vm, but never received a call back. I called Uhaul corporate to complain.

I am greatly Appreciate that I choice this location.

Elizabeth CAfter leaving the location and picking up my trailer and driving 3 miles two of the chains that they installed on the trailer fell off. When I went to return the trailer. I waited 15 minutes with nobody even acknowledging me being there, and I ended up having to disconnect the trailer and leave it there myself, because nobody would help me.

The online system worked perfectly!

No one return my call from the site to verify that I in fact moved out weeks prior. I have additional uhaul storage units in multiple states that I will now looking into closing and moving somewhere else, uhaul just lost my business. All it would have taken was a phone call and verification from Alex the uhaul employee that checked me out of that storage unit!

Michael D | Online Move InI’ve used U-Haul storage last 3 years; I looked for another storage being I felt, the yearly price hikes were high. I started out less than 100.00 now in 3 years 128.00. Upon checking out a young man was working. I went inside because my card wouldn’t work. There was a line. When I finally got waited on I asked young man, looks like you need help. He said “no, not really I can do it”. I was given a new card. Male said my card was old one. I was never issued a new one? I could not locate my ball so I needed to buy one. I went back inside, another line I had to wait to buy a ball. Young man had to go help someone with a trailer rental. It took me standing in line over 10 minutes just to buy a ball. In my opinion, male could not handle. I believe there should be someone inside store at all times. Finally a few minutes after 10:00, an older woman came in to work. It was after 10:00 and woman still needed to go back to her car to get a bag of what she needed for day, I assume I saw lunch items. She made comment on being busy; male then said, “doesn’t matter to me, I get paid by the hour “. Wow how inconsiderate for those of us who had other things to do. I spent over 20 minutes just in line, to get a new issued card then make a purchase. Woman just coming in was very nice and friendly, by this time I just wanted to get out and complete my mission. I had to go back inside to advise my unit was vacant and clean. Another line! After waiting a while, I walked up to female, handed her my card with unit number on it, advised unit was clean and ready for new tenant. She took card from me and I saw she had closed my account a few hours later.

The pros: alarmed units, coded access entry to the building, carts!, an area where someone else’s trash could become your treasure or vice versa, very friendly/helpful staff (so friendly, in fact, that I felt bad to move out!), climate controlled and indoor options, proactive pest control, free (used) cardboard, a drive up loading dock so you don’t have to lift heavy things into or out of a truck, regular car parking spots, etc. Just a few cons: out of my price range (I only stayed a month), no dumpster for customer use, no trash cans inside. Those are the only things I’d change!

RUTHIE S | Overall ExperienceWe we were treated horrible horribly they said awful things about us and we never had any problem we paid a rent ahead of time I said we lived in the storage unit that's a bunch of lies I was locked out of the storage we couldn't get in there after hours after the office was closed because they said people complain about us I have no problem with anybody I rented from store up from U-Haul for many years on 19th avenue and Bell road Phoenix Arizona the manager's name is Keith very nice man very not a problem with him at all I mean very respectful it was very respectful this place here I'd never go back to the U-Haul on -17th and Deer valley manager's name at the i-17 in Deer valley the manager's name is Roger Garcia very rude two of the employees very rude to us I would never ever go back to that one there and I'll let people know that that's not a very nice place at one one time before we moved out we they locked the doors our keys was in there we didn't have no way to get back in our unit was open and nobody would give us a call back the support that I talked to on the phone from U-Haul it wasn't her fault she was very very nice the managers were not answer the phone we got a way to get into locker lock our unit and get our keys but they're very rude people there you know I don't I don't need to be slandered and and put down and embarrassed because we have storage there and my grandkids was out there eating crackers I mean it's just not a very nice place

No space to turn around had to park in u-haul trailer area and haul goods over a 100 yards just to get to door. Empty lot next door to location perhaps should be acquired for more access.

Michael F | Overall ExperienceThe timers are the lighting are way to aggressive on shutting off. It's not fun working on unloading items from your cart into your unit, and have the lights go off. Then have to walk down a pitch black hallway to make the lights go back on. Rinse & repeat. Also, checkout process. Followed website directions, took pictures of unit and waited 48 hours. Still pending... Tried calling -- phone number goes to national number, and they would send a message to call back. Never did. Drove back to unit at end of day, waited in line and asked if there was a problem with moving out? They said uhh ohh, let me go look at unit. They did, and finally "moved-out" without issue. Why it took physically driving down there to make it happen, when it could have been done all online is beyond me? If moving out requires you to be there, make it step 1 on the web. Other than that, facilities were clean, albeit, no garbage cans... Why no garbage cans?

Kimberly M | Overall ExperienceFirst and foremost my interactions with two staff members was fantastic. The gentleman that checked me in and returned my rental trailer was very helpful. The other was Tiffany who showed me to the storage locker was fantastic!! I can tell she enjoys her job and she was very helpful. She is a great employee and really highlighted my experience. As for the facility a have two comments. One, there were no garbage cans that I could find to discard trash. Secondly, I need help removing a larger item from my trailer and requested some help to which I was told “ Because of company liability reasons we cannot touch customers items“. As a company I get it, but where does customer service begin and liability ends. My suggestion would be to have a waiver for customers to sign that may need assistance if they’re loading and unloading by themselves.

I was also told there was no incentive pricing for truck rental if I am a renter in- town. This was disappointing and inconvenient, as that is what I needed. Now I have the same needs again. I moved out because I have found more competitive pricing nearby for both a unit and a truck through other companies
