I am particular about things being re-assembled without looking like they have been disassembled, that is part of the reason why I gave 5 stars. The remainder of my rating is how well everything was scheduled and processed. Everything went perfect, start to finish. The mechanic asked me opinions on aesthetics, and I appreciated that. All in all the experience was outstanding and I would refer my elderly mother to go to U-Haul Moving & Storage At Mission Ave , if she needed a hitch. Pamela NorrThe truck has bad shocks. The ride was almost uncontrollable at times. The person that handled my sign up had many issues dealing with the computers. There was an issue with the amount of gas in the tank. The computer said 3/4 tank, but there was less indicated on the gauge. The checkout perdon said she fixed it in the computer, but she didn't. That cost me $25. Overall, very poor.

Caleb NgHorrible experience! Your website showed that your dealer at Lincoln in Escondido was the only location that had a 20’ truck available. I called the location to see if Raymond, an old coworker, still worked there or if Camille was still managing the dealer location, IMMEDIATELY a violent thug by the name of Jonathan started accusing me of “phishing” as if I was some fraudulent criminal. I explained that I know them from long ago only to immediately be interrupted with a “I don’t care”. He proceeded to talk over me and raise his voice at me when I tried to get a word in. I asked for a manager or supervisor to which he said he was it and there was no one above him and hung up on me. I called again to ask for Camille and it ended up with him challenging me to a fight taunting me to come over to where he works. What kind of people is Uhaul choosing to represent them? I’ve never in my life had a customer service rep speak to me this way for practically no reason to the point of violence. Uhaul needs to do something about this thug before he speaks to that way to the wrong person and it gets uglier. I proceeded to call the service number for Martin Farkas number, he decided giving me $50 should be good enough to make up for the violent threats and intimidation used against me. I wonder if the reservation guarantee was $25, would he be giving me $25 instead? Totally unacceptable to offer me the minimum compensation for something like that. I requested for the dealer owner to call me, which in this case is Camille and despite Martin confirming that he spoke to her and she would call me back she never did. I decided to reserve the 20’ truck for the same location online but for SELF DISPATCH before 7am so I don’t have to deal with that thug and possibly go to jail that morning. We all get up at 5am to get ready to move and to my surprise, when I get there at 6:15 the truck was not even set up for self dispatch AT ALL! I had to call service to transfer to a location without a violent thug that has a truck available. They send me over to the location on Mission Ave. They open at 7, I’m there pacing back and forth waiting until 7:03 wondering where everyone’s at until an employee that just got there opens the door from the outside, I walk in and notice the manager Kayla sitting at the counter on the computer with a “don’t bother me” expression on her face. I walk up directly to her to which she says “we’ll be right with you”… no good morning no nothing. I step back and 30 seconds later she calls me over. To my surprise again they set up me up with 26’ truck instead of a 20’ which would have been more than enough. The 26 is TOO BIG! I call Martin to inform of the matter and he decides to give me the bare minimum again, he said he will issue me a $50 reservation guarantee and that’s it. I said the guarantee is for not having the truck available to me at the location on Lincoln, what about the extra gas I’m gonna have to pay for a bigger truck I don’t need. What about the inconvenience and trouble driving and maneuvering a 26’ truck in my little apartment complex? Im gonna have a lot of empty space in the back which can damage my belongings. He decided giving me an extra $50 should suffice for the gas and inconvenience and stated the 20’ and the 26’ both burn the same amount of gas despite obvious differences in mass and size. He pointed out the 10 mpg* that clearly states “load” is a factor. The 26 carries an additional 20 gallons of fuel as a load that the 20 doesn’t. After explaining ALL OF THIS Martin didn’t care, he said “take it or leave it”. This whole experience was a nightmare and I felt I was given the bare minimum as compensation just to get me to go away rather than making it up to me as a customer. I hope someone higher has the common sense to see how wrong I was treated and calls me back with the correct compensation so I can give you guys a better review outside of Uhaul.

Paul CarlomagnoBefore returning the track, I already refilled the fuel to make the amount of fuel as same as the fuel when I picked it up. But it still charged the fuel filling fee (I told the inspector that I refilled the fuel and showed him the receipt. He didn't tell me the amount of the fuel of the returned track was not the same as the fuel when I picked it up). In the receipt, it showed I didn't refill the fuel and charged me 9 dollars for 2 gallons. The mileage that I drove was 22 miles, and I filled 2 gallons of fuel in the gas station. I don't know what happened. I will never use U-Haul anymore!

They kept calling me days later asking when I’d return it I told them I had. They called again asking to confirm I’d returned it because nobody wrote it down. I said I was nervous I’d be charged since my return wasn’t documented, the rep assured me I wouldn't be. Just found the extra charge while looking through credit card statement, otherwise wouldn’t have noticed it. Rep said someone will check cameras at facility and call me back I’m 72 hrs, if not “keep on calling back” Okay but I’m sure the cameras erase by then so this seems weird and a huge hassle for me who made sure I got the drive done in order to return this trailer. I don’t care that it’s less than 100 it’s the principal. Zero instructions how to enter unit, didn’t have scissors on me to cut green zip tie placed on the lock. Employees outside were very nice and helpful, only redeeming quality. I’ve already called the storage facility, hence the feedback I’m leaving here for being charged an additional day after uhaul picked up my trailer at one of their own storage locations.::how could that be any easier and more obvious that I returned it on time? I literally don’t know.

This should be explained to new customers when they opt to buy the insurance, but it was not explained to me, and I am out all the insurance money I paid in.

Their phones would always go to the corporate office and we left many messages for this facility we're never answered. We left U-Haul specifically for that reason. It should be run more seamlessly

But because I am looking for a storage-only type facility I found the heavy amount of traffic (for U-Haul trucks, trailers, etc) to be a bit inconvenient. While U-Haul would be my go-to place for those type of things (and more boxes!), I would most likely only use a U-Haul facility for storage if it was the only thing offered at the location. Staff was super friendly and helpful! I'll be back for more boxes!!

I chose my destination point because they had on-site climate-control lockers. I made the locker reservation at the same time I reserved the truck. When I arrived at my destination on May 1st, they did not have a locker that was usable for me. The only 10x10 they had was on the second floor and their elevator was broken and they had no idea when it would be repaired. I had dozens of boxes on the truck and it was not acceptable to have to carry them to the second floor by steps manually. I told the check-in clerk that it would not work and my only solution was to keep my property on the truck at no extra cost until they could provide a suitable locker. He checked with an associate and told me that was OK to do. So, when I was called the following week that a suitable locker was available, I rented it, unloaded the truck and returned it. I should not have been charge anything beyond my initial fee for the truck rental, yet I was charged for an extra seven days truck rental. l request you issue me a full refund. Incidentally, right after my experience in my first attempt to return the truck I filed a complaint on the U-Haul website with both the truck and locker contract numbers and asked that I be contacted by phone. Nobody ever responded.

The alternate first floor unit 5x8x9 we were assigned was available according to their system, but there was a lock on it. The lock was cut only to discover that the unit was still occupied. The only other units were either too small or a larger 5x8x10 was available at a higher price, considering our situation we accepted the more expensive unit. Justin the employee assisting us was very courteous. Perhaps we should have been given the larger unit at the price of the first two units we were assigned, and given the fact that we have 1 free month of unit rental through our previous trailer rental I really cannot complain too much.
