The only challenging part of moving in and out was the inability to hold the elevator while filling it with our goods. We have a 10x15 unit and a 10x9 unit that we filled in Sep 2023 and then empties in Mar 2024.

Great place I accidentally got locked out after hours and once I called and let them know they were able to remotely grant me 24 hour access so I could get in to get my truck which had my dog inside waiting. A.j. Ross is good mgr.

Did not fully utilize our unit because on move in day and for FOUR WEEKS after the elevator was not in service and so we could not bring in the boxes and furniture to our unit. Contacted management twice and did not receive a call or email back. Ended up storing all of our belongings in a friend's garage. Wasted money and poor customer service.

My unit was tagged saying it was cleaned and good to go. When I got to the unit on the first day, there was human vomit directly in front of the door, been well over a year, spoke to A.J. explained got put on hold, followed by a hang up or disconnect fault. A.J having his position and not responding is unprofessional of him. This was May well over a year ago, still no call or answered email or phone call. Glass recently was all over where you pull up to the dock. I brought my own broom and dustpan to clean it up so myself or no one coming in after didn't get a flat tire. Glad I don't need or have a unit anymore. I used you guys twice, won't be a 3rd.

I rented 2 large units to store my 3 bedroom home. The staff told us three time we could not hold the door for movers to fill the elevator and go to 3rd floor. You need to have a key to turn and stop door from trying to close. Our move I. Took at least an extra 60-90 min waiting for the door to open and close. You need to upgrade the elevators ability to hold door open since you are moving facility. The current state of the elevator is really unacceptable.

I viewed the steps to move out of my storage unit (required pics and you to take your lock off so I didn’t “complete” the steps and U-haul somehow closed my unit without me “completing” check out and I will probably be charged the lock cutting fee)

Although the maintenance folks did their jobs well. There were homeless people living in the storage units and the bathrooms were always pretty gross. Also, there was no notice given about the elevator gone down. Why was that? I got no communication in anyway about it, about its process of getting fixed until it was fixed. At that time I got one text message, saying that. It was an enormous inconvenience. We arrived to clean out our storage unit and couldn’t because the elevator was down. Then it was down for two months. Personally, what we lost not having our items for those two months was not in anyway reflected in not being charged to store our items for free during a time when we had no intention of continuing the store. We were not offered anything. I did demand and got a free truck to move our items out, but that wasn’t even a drop in the bucket for the amount of loss of not having our stuff and having to take an entire another day off work and the people I hired to help me I had to hire twice. It was a colossal loss for me financially Uhaul owes me at the least $1000 to compensate me for that.

The elevator doesn't work so you have to go from take care of all your belongings from the first floor to the second floor without the elevator working

My only displeasure was the concrete floor at garage area had a bad order from a possibly car fluid spill. The staff was very prompt at addressing issues. I felt my belongings were secure. I appreciated it was climate controlled. As well I was pleased bathrooms stayed maintained and clean.

The elevator needs to be repaired as soon as possible! You have elderly people coming in to get into their storage and a lot of them couldn’t walk up and down stairs. This is a big inconvenience.

My unit was on the 4th floor and the elevator was out. I tried to find out when it would be fixed and the employee was extremely rude. They told me to live in the real world and that it would get fixed when it got fixed. The only notice was on the elevator and not on any of the doors entering the building. Overall terrible experience.

The staff were ok. The facility needs carts badly. I had to use a mattress cart to move things around, and there were only 2 of them. Other than that, the facility is very clean. 3 stars due to missing carts.

They were friendly, but both U-Haul locations I had gone to, did not pull up my reservations. They were both new and lacked training. I was late to my next stop after picking up U-Haul and missed the main reason I got the U-Haul! Now I have to rent another Tuesday. First girl in Middletown didn't set up my storage unit that I told her about. She re-made my reservation, it took a long time to get my truck and get going. The second time was even longer. 3-4 times we had to remake my order/reservation. Absolutely ridiculous. Wrong storage location, wrong discount etc.... When she just could have pulled up my reservation! I had my two year old and we were there over a half hour and my two year old lost it.

The unit was suppose to be a 10 x 10 but when I got there it had a concrete column taking at least a fourth of the unit. Sales staff never mentioned this and my things will never fit in this unit. I called toll free customer service and made complaint but still haven't received a call back for 3 days. This is unacceptable . This is after I ordered uboxes and trotwood was a no call no show 2 days In a row. And stl no call back for that from anyone. Yet I still have U-Haul another chance by renting units. My card was charged for u boxes and I had to wait 5 days for refund. My father is very I'll and U-Haul has continuously set me back on my move. This is rediculous! This is time I'm missing spending and caring for my father that can never be gotten back. How much more do I have to endure with U-Haul and unacceptable business practices from these 2 branches on east third Dayton and trotwood

couple issues that need to be address with drive-in storage port only one door works and three to use which is a huge problem when moving large items in and out. This issue has been like this for four to five months which i didn't see once someone trying to fix. the overall experience was above average with customer service and cancelling my storage unit.

The person we dealt with was very kind and courteous. However, the code I was given wouldn't work and it took over 30 minutes to get into the facility. 2 of the 3 garage doors don't work, and my code was still not working when we left, so I fully expect to have to go through those whole thing again next time I need to get in.

I rented a 10 x 20 storage unit. I received two 10 x 10 storage units. Not the same thing. That’s called bait and switch. Honestly, if I wasn’t in a pinch, I would’ve gone and found another facility.

I had a facility that was owned by a franchise. The owner accused me of lying when I told him I could not pay my storage online. He also sent me a bill right after I had paid my bill as if to be vindictive. Also, when I got ready to move out there was a dead mouse found in my items and green poop was found in my shoe boxes. I did not speak of the rat incident or poop in my shoes because of prior grievances of me being accused of lying and the resolve was U- haul customer service contacting the owner to resolve an issue that was with him. (the owner).

Everything went well up until we needed to use the restrooms. They were disgusting!! And not just one of them. We went to all the different floors to find a clean one and never did. Out of desperation, we ended up using one that had an already-clogged toilet and the smell was horrific. It gave us the feeling that potentially homeless people might be living in there. We also had someone "tailgate" into the building behind someone in our crew. I hope there are surveillance cameras on site and regular security to avoid what we think might be happening in this facility. Other than that, though everything about the actual process was great! Really appreciated the ability to pull in and unload in a heated building since it was so cold outside!

The latch on storage 4036 is faulty. It does not easily close. I had to jiggle the latch for a long time for it to work. I ended up leaving it unlocked at one point because I had to catch a flight. AJ called and told me the latch was not secured and I allowed him to cut it off to add another lock which cost me additional money! This unit has caused me a nightmare. Please fix the latch for the next tenant.

The customer service was above & beyond, they were extremely professional, friendly, and very helpful. I truly felt at home. One of the guys that helped me his name was Dale, I believe the other guys name was Jimmy. They are truly the epitome of great customer service, as well as teamwork! And I do hope that they get recognized for their hard work, and professionalism. It was very refreshing to experience that.

The large truck service door hasn't worked for 2 months and needs fixing. That storage facility has a large volume of people coming and going, and when 3 different customers have to share the 2 smaller vehicle doors, it becomes difficult to unload or unload boxes and other furniture.

During the time we rented the cleanliness of the facility dropped off. With no staff on site the facility was not monitored adequately. I would not use this facility again.

The security was probably adequate, but the day we were putting things into the storage facility, it was raining pretty hard and the bay doors on the right side of the building would not close, This might have been due to the rain. The facility was clean; however, at some point, the sprinkler system may have gone off or the roof leaked over our unit. Some of our plastic bags had dried water stains on them, but nothing was damaged.

I was reluctant to use storage as my sister had a bad experience. This facility was clean, had carts to assist with moving my boxes, and each time I needed to contact their personnel they were patient, knowledgeable and willing to help.

When I called in prior to coming in the gentleman that I spoke to name Tim was very nice and professional and told me one thing. However, when I went in the next day to set up my agreement, it was inconsistent w/Tim's behavior and what he had told me. Additionally, for identity and security reasons, I shouldn't have to yell my personal information out, it should just be taken off my DL and entered in and if something has changed I would let the cashier know that.

Everything was fine, except that I had to secure the facility at one location, go to a different storage facility, and drop the truck off at a third location. It would have been more convenient to do everything at one location. Also, the garage door at the storage facility wasn't working properly. It wouldn't close, but it could have been because the rainy weather was affecting it.

The only issue I had is I called before I came because I had a reservation to see what time the facility closed and they said 5. I got there at 4;30 and no one opened the door and no one would answer the phone. Other people (customers) came and was having the same issue. I needed to visually see the unit before renting it. But I had to do a reserve now in the fourth floor instead of the one I reserved which was on the 1st floor because that’s the only one that was available. Then when I went to go inside to check out the unit it’s going to be tighter than what I thought. Maybe not enough room for all my belongings. Even though the site says it will fit my things according to my square footage, I don’t think it will. So I have to pay for this storage and also store my belongings else where, which is annoying.

I DIDNT REALIZE I HAD TO CHECK IN WHEN I ARRIVED AT U HAUL. WITH THAT BEING SAID I LIVE ALL THE WAY IN XENIA. I BEEN TRAVELING BACK AND FORTH. WORKING A FULL TIME JOB. I WAS EXHAUSTED FROM TJE NON STOP PACKING AND LOADING AND UNLOADING. (ALONE) I ARRIVED THERE MY SECOND DAY, AND I WAS LOCKED OUT OF THE BUILDING. I WASNT HAPPY AT ALL. NOW I HAVE A WHOLE CAR LOAD OF BELONGINGS AND THE ONLY OPTION IS TO RETURN BACK HOME, AND UNLOAD THEM SO I COULD RETURN TO DAYTON BECAUSE I HAD BUSINESS TO ATTEND AS WELL AS GIVE A FRIEND AND HER DAUGHTER A RIDE. TJE WHOLE ORDEAL PUT ME BEHIND. I WAS TIRED AND FRUSTRATED TO NO RETURN. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

The truck door was broken, no one told me that. I called the gm numerous times and he never responded to me. I left voicemails. It was very difficult to move my stuff without proper access. I didn't know about the door being broke until the next day when I returned the uhaul truck to another location. Homeless people hang out in the building and make it harder to move stuff in/out.

AJ, this location's manager, is exceptional. Explained everything. Was really knowledgeable, patient, and professional from start to finish. The truck was awesome. The storage facility is clean and fully equipped with carts/tools to complete my move. Well done.

My son and my belongings got stuck on the elevator and the fire alarm went off. I called after hours number and left a message. Fire department came and I hadn't received a call back from after hours still and had to call them back. Once there they were helpful and somewhat sympathetic. They gave me 2 smaller storage units for the rest of my things on the first level. I just think there should be some kind of contingency plan for this sort of thing. The elevator I was told would be down for a couple months, I have knee problems and can't do alot of steps to my 3rd floor unit. My question is how do I get my things back down when I'm ready to move? They did assure me ot would be taken care of. Other than that, everyone was great

The swipe process was confusing and not fully explained that the pin/swipe needs to be used twice. Once to check in and then again to actually unlock the doors. This information would have been helpful for a first timer.

It was to many bugs crawling around Roaches everywhere I didnt feel comfortable with my items in the storage 🙃 also the smell was awful it smelled like moth balls when I removed my items from the storage my items smelled like moth balls. I had to self treat (pest control) my items for bugs.

My move out date was 7/22/2020. I called and spoke to a staff member that told me they would look at the unit and delete me out the system. Than on 8/07/2020 I received a bill saying I owe $102 because someone else didn’t do their job right. I called three times after I received that bill to clear to the situation and no answer. So no I won’t recommend it to anyone. Thank you

Couple of things: I reserved a unit online before trip from Chicago to Dayton. I wanted to change start date, but was unable to do so through my account. I tried called Dayton directly, no such luck, keep getting transferred to 800 number. After being on hold for 30 minutes I was able to change date with a very nice customer service person. After she made the change, I wanted a confirmation. The only way she could do it was do a screen shot on her end and email it to me from her personal email account, not U-Haul. Really??? Check-in at Dayton went well. However, when I got to storage unit location, I was trying to figure things out and was greeted by the U-Haul maintenance person named Joe. Talk about being helpful. He was leaving for the day, when he took the time to show me everything you need to do, from disarming the alarm, to putting in the code to enter the building, to showing me how to open garage door, even walking me to and showing me my unit. He didn't have to do what he did, but he was awesome for helping me out after a 5 hour drive from Chicago. Thank you again Joe...

I do not recommend anybody using this location because there isn't a person availability at the facility to help you. I had issues getting the key out the lock box because the wrong code was sent to me. I had issues with the website when I was returning the truck. I guarantee this is the last time I use Uhaul.
