The original reservation was at Hayward for which I checked in , but by the time I arrived at the location, the rep was very rude and told me that I am 16 min late so they dont have my reservation. She was very rude.

I used both the storage and rent a van facilities; the staff deserves a raise and a cocktail party; they are incredibly helpful, generous, courteous and with positive attitude; I am sorry I don’t have a complete list of all their names but each and everyone of them are truly exceptional! UHAUL is very lucky to have such a hard working staff! Please note that this is specific to the W Winton Ave facilities.

The driver was excellent. The phone staff was a nightmare. She was unresponsive, dictatorial, and inflexible. She was rude. But the drivers were excellent. The delivery driver was particularly excellent. However, again, the staff on the phone was grossly ridiculously arbitrary and determined not to be helpful.

Everything was handled well, and the Ubox made it to my destination on time, with no damage to the contents.The only thing I did not appreciate is this - when I was setting this all up on the phone with the UHaul people, I was quoted a price for bringing the Ubox to my apartment, 2 guys unloading it, and then the 2 guys bringing the Ubox and the trailer back to the UHaul storage location. Well all that happened, but the price I paid was over $100 more than the quote. So maybe the guy on the phone didn't really know the correct price, or maybe some training is in order.

Uhaul sent me an automated text message saying that my container was "due" back at noon or I'd get charged a late fee, but I had a pickup scheduled that day between 8-4pm so it was a little confusing. Check in on your automated systems to make sure they are not misfiring. Loved my experience overall. Thank you!!

I was given different information as far as pricing when I called the 1-800 number on 3 different occasions. I was also given misleading information about where I could send my box and if I could change where I could send it while in storage. Apparently this is a very common problem. Also after I returned the UBox container I was still charged for the container a month later even though my box was empty. I spent way more money outside of my budget because of the misinformation. I would not recommend anyone to get a UBox after my experience. I would actually consider spending more money with PODS to avoid the headache.

My issue is with U-Haul's central support, not the site itself. I made an appointment to have my box delivered well over a week prior to my requested date. I confirmed with U-haul the night before that my goods would be delivered between 12-6 on Friday 09/27. I had a bad feeling, so I called the site on 09/27 to confirm that the delivery was going to happen. There was no record of it. It took 6 phone calls and U-haul hiring a 3rd party to deliver my box to make it happen. All in all it was a horrible customer experience and as a result, I will never do business with U-haul again.

for the most part, the people were fine, it was the system which kept making a mess of things. I spent way too much time trying to convince UHaul that i was right as to my delivery date at destination and then they still did not deliver on time. Overall i would rate my experience a ONE out of TEN

We had road work on our street that made timely delivery and pick up difficult. We had to postpone and delay several times. When we finally settled on a date THursday May 2, the trailer was not removed until May 6th. I do not blame the crew as it was a difficult job, but it is better to be more realistic about the pick up time. They ended up coming up on Sunday evening at dusk. IT took time, but they got the job done.

Alfonzo at the pickup location was very good to work with. My problem was with the truck, it was old and not in good mechanical condition. The steering was very loose and felt dangerous to drive. Also U-Haul needs to get trucks with better seats, my butt is killing me form sitting in the one in the truck I had all day.

Have a line for pick up truck only, and another line for accessories such as boxes, tapes, cough covers, bubble wrap etc. The customers shouldnt have to stay in line for 20 mins or more.

This is NOT a negative review of the personnel at Hayward facility. They were overly busy and under-staffed. Phone calls transferred to nat'l call center gave me incorrect information.

the box i received didn't close properly. I called for assistance and spent 3 hours being transferred from person to person. Nobody could help me. Then, they said they'd need to call the dispatched people and that they would call me back in an hour. Nobody ever called me back. I called again. They again said they'd call within an hour. Again, nobody ever called me. Therefore you can do two things: 1) sturdier boxes that don't collapse under their own weight with nothing in them. THe door wouldn't close again without anything inside the box because the sides bowed in. 2) have more efficient customer service help for people who need to load their box that day, and call back when you say you will call back.

Even though the staff was friendly in an otherwise nightmare-ish situation, the incompetence overshadowed their helpfulness. Our major complaint is that the expedited ship date was not met. The box was not properly processed, so there was no information in the system to easily locate where it ended up. We were sent to two locations before we found it and had to make longer trips to unload because Hayward was not the closer location. This was after being told it was at Redwood City, and that we needed to wait 24 hours to unload, but come to find out it was not even there!! We waited around Redwood City for half the day after being told we would be called when they found the lost box. We finally drove to Hayward and had the manager look for the box. Thankfully it was there. Unfortunately, they put the box away between unloads throughout the day without telling us, and furniture inside was damaged when the box was moved. This was overall a poor experience, and we will not be using U-Haul to move in the future.

My boxes were sent to Hayward, and I moved to San Francisco. I found out after the fact that the Hayward location doesn't deliver to residential addresses in San Francisco. I was given a number to call for a manager at the Hayward location, where I left messages over the course of a few days. On Thursday, August 16, after explaining how I had been waiting, I was connected to someone in the traffic department who promised me he would put the boxes on a shipment for a U-Haul location in San Francisco, who could then deliver to my home in SF on Saturday. He gave me a number to call for the place in SF, to coordinate. I called the number, and was told that the person I needed to speak with was out for the day and that I should call back on Friday. When I said I was worried the delivery would be delayed, I was told that it was fine - 24 hours was all the notice they needed. I called back on Friday, and got through to the person who delivers the boxes, Tyshell. She was the only person in this whole process who helped me, and was up front about what was going on. She looked up the boxes and told me they were still in Hayward, and hadn't been transferred. The soonest they could be transferred was Monday the 20th. She gave me the number for Hayward, and I called and got through. The boxes were eventually delivered to San Francisco U-Haul, and Tyshell delivered them to our apartment on Tuesday, August 21st. Meanwhile, though, I had to take off an extra day of work when I had been planning to do the move on the weekend. so I lost a day of pay. Plus, I was also charged for an additional month of storage at the Hayward location, since the boxes were supposed to be moved by Thursday, and the rental renewed on Friday. Apart from the excellent customer service I received from Tyshell, the whole process of moving with U-box was unbelievably bad. I probably spent 5 or 6 hours on the phone, most of it on hold. if that wasn't bad enough, U-Haul's hold message that repeats incessantly is incredibly irritating. I am still waiting for the refund for the last month of storage at Hayward - I shouldn't have to pay for storage when I had been scheduled to be out of there.

The workers here did everything in their power to help us -- including staying way past close to allow us to fill a U-Box we were promised by a call center worker. That call center worker told us that the store was open until 7. It was, in fact, open until 4. We showed up at 3:55 expecting to have plenty of time to fill our box. The manager and the workers there happily agreed to stay late so that we could fill our box after we explained that the call center apparently had no idea what they were talking about. This all happened after another unexpected Uhaul surprise: our U-Box was originally ordered to come to Concord. That was apparently changed without our knowledge. The reservation was switched to Hayward, but no one called us and I received no email alert. The manager at Concord had to tell us while he got berated by another customer whose reservation was altered. The people who work at Uhaul on Winton are wonderful people who should quit and work at a company that will treat them humanely and set them up for success. Someone's child probably sat alone somewhere waiting to be picked up because of the lack of functional communication this company makes possible for its employees. My boxes were sitting at my destination for a week and NO ONE called to arrange the delivery...I finally called when the contracted deadline passed only t be told...sorry...someone messed up and they could not deliver my boxes....I had to pick it up myself..want to hear more? After more than 5 years storing at this location - the delivery experience was below poor - as is the communication with the local office. The local phone was nearly always forwarded to national help-desk, many of whom were polite but had no ability to remedy. Box was delivered on a Friday - on time. I requested a Monday pick up - no show and poor communication. It took three calls daily to attempt to get a fix on when the box would be picked-up ( blocking our driveway). Finally picked up Thursday ( 3 days late) .Every call took many minutes of hold time and promises of calls back to resolve were dropped. In addition, billing from the facility since the acquisition by Haul has been erratic, inaccurate and threatening - after > 5 years of monthly payments. General disregard for customer service.

I was not aware that this move would be a bunch companies handling different aspects of the job. Poor communication among all your parts leads to poor results. Friendly does not mean good results. Your delivery driver would not bring the Box to my son's property. Property that is rated to handle all fire trucks and moving trucks. Please do not bill me the $125 for delivery.

We arrived at 8:15 and whomever works there didn’t arrive until 10 minutes later. The truck was very dirty and had mud caked on the ramp.

We had an overall very positive experience with using U-Box -- the container was easy to load, made it across the country safely, all of our belongings were intact (granted, we did a pretty good job of packing!), and delivery was not overly expensive, and very well organized. I want to give a special shout-out to the woman who delivered our pod to our new home -- I think her name was Alicia, but I didn't quite catch it exactly -- SHE WAS AWESOME. SO nice, so efficient, just all around awesome.

One one person at this location could rent out the trucks. She was off in the warehouse doing something else... I had a confirmed reservation, but still had to wait for a long time for her to become available.

They didn’t check the truck back in till almost 1pm the day after I returned, and no one called me to let me know they had receuthe truck and I had to call 5 times. People are already stressed out from moving so they don’t need more stress.

The employees at this location are great. From beginning to end they were helpful, not only aiding me with the choices I had to make, but in facilitating the logistics of my move. They went out of their way to help me do what was good for me, the customer. That doesn’t happen much these days.

Everything came back OK. I started with a different company 9 years aga and you purchased the company and I have never had any trouble.I had a hard time talking to the right person when I wanted to go on auto pay. I think you should tell people you are going to charge to bring the storage units back to their house to empty.

Inside of truck was dirty , sand and water on the truck bed, but that didn't matter much to me. Truck ran great, The young lady who helped me was very professional ,helpful, friendly. I will go there next time I need a truck.

I was a little thrown by the fact that my u-box settled after loading and the latch was no longer lockable. I think more heads-up on this happening would have allowed me to buy the right kind of lock (a very long master lock). Otherwise it was great!

Every step of closing out this storage unit after I placed my initial order for delivery has been awful. I was over promised and under delivered in EVERY WAY. I was told that I would receive a call the night before to confirm a drop off window for the next day, never happened. I was told that the pick up window was available for Sunday 1/31/2017 and it wasn't which was VERY upsetting as the drop off was to a location that is not my house. I was then told it would be picked up 1/2/17. That day came and went and still not picked up. The unit was not picked up until late afternoon 1/3/17 creating a logistical nightmare for the person that lives at this location. I have been asking for a call from a manager at the Hayward location since Saturday and have YET to receive this call. I will never, ever recommend this service or location to any of my friends in the bay area. I will be making a call to this facility daily until I receive a call from the manager.
