I had a disappointing experience with U-Haul. Initially, I was told to "go somewhere else" by the manager because he didn't think I had proper documentation to rent a U-Haul. I found this treatment rude and unwelcoming. I recommend that they prioritize being nice to their future customers, as people are not always what they seem at first glance.

Norman BThe place was fine but my issue was that I picked a place right by my location in both ends then you changed one and tried to change the other. While I understand the website says that, I don’t agree with a business model where you inconvenience your customers to make your business run smoother. You want me to drive 20 minutes to pick up or drop off the vehicle while I drive past 10 other uhaul locations to save you from repositioning. I just don’t think that is good customer service.

kevin sIf you are expecting customers to return trucks back with the same amount of gas as when we pick it up, then you should have it at a full tank when loaning it out. It is unrealistic to expect customers to know exact amount gas level is at before starting and not fair to expect them to return truck with more gas then when they received it (especially with price of gas) or in turn over charge them for gas.
AURORA TThere is no WIFI or Internet signal at this location. It took 45 minutes to check in to get my u haul, because of this. I was also not informed my truck didn't have a ramp. Made moving take a lot longer Realty sucked.
Stephanie FWe were using the self check-in because we needed the truck earlier than the office opened. We weren't quite understanding the on-line process at first, and someone from the office came out to explain it to us. I told him that I thought the office was closed, and he said it was, but he could see that we were a little confused. This is why I choose this particular location. Reviews said that they had great customer service, and they did! The person came out to help even when the office was closed. This is how to run a business. Great job!
E (David went above in helping me BEFORE the posted store hours. Only suggestion would be if a particular location doesn't offer the moving pads, the reservation should state as such. AGAIN, David's customer service is to be commended!
Larry APlease don't take away our U-Haul trucks. It is becoming increasingly difficult to get a truck. We had to drive from Mesa to Tucson today to pick up a 26 foot truck for our main move. The employees have indicated that trucks are becoming scarce.
Thomas SI had SO many issues before getting to Towne Storage. When I walked in their door I was feeling defeated. They worked with me and made this situation so easy. I felt so at ease with them and they stayed late to help me thru the process. I swear they made a terrible situation manageable and out my stress at ease. I would recommend them to everyone I hope they read this so they know how much I appreciate their service!! They went above and beyond!!! Love you guys!!! Thank you again for the popcorn!!!

The virtual customer service never informed me my verification was complete nor did she reply back to my question of providing an update. 3. I requested a furniture dolly with rental which was not in the truck upon checking it out. 4. I called customer service only to be told I'd have to travel to another location and wait for them to open and see if the dolly would be available. 5. This delayed my entire move-out process and complicated even further by not having a dolly. Completely horrid experience

OLIVER CThe AI UHaul uses to recognize photos as accurate falls woefully short and I had multiple troubles getting it to recognize pictures in the drivers license AND upon return the odometer / mi reading. 2nd time we used it and same bad experience. We literally had to wait for the business to open to return the truck. Please pass this to someone who can fix it.

To U-Haul overall, We filled the truck up to the place it was when we got it, but you still charged me for some gas. Pictures are truth, the place we rented it from said it was just under 3/4. That is where we filled it to.

I spent A LOT of time waiting for a representative to validate my pickup and then they called my husband to get approval for me to be a driver when I was the one who made the reservation and added HIM as a SECONDARY driver. The location didn’t have any hand dollies and I didn’t find this out until I was picking up. I ended up renting dollies from Home Depot for triple the cost of UHaul. I was given a refund for the dollies and an additional $6 credit for the inconvenience. While that is appreciated, it didn’t make up for the unexpected extra spend I had to incur.

Brody BAfter choosing my pick up location, and completing my reservation, the location in the confirmation text was different than the location I chose. I called to clarify the location with customer service, and the agent first said that the address in the text was the headquarters. I explained that it was a local address, that's when she realized there was a discrepancy in the location. She said she updated it, in which I received an email with the update of the location that was in the text I received. On the day of my reservation, I went to that location to do mobile pick up, and when attempting to check in, it showed my reservation was at the original location I chose, not the one that was supposedly in the "updated" reservation. I had to go inside to have the agent at that location help me, which took a lot more time than it should have. A hold was put on my bank card, for the estimated amount, but after I dropped the truck off, the total was less. A second charge for the previous estimated amount, was charged on my bank card again, not the actual amount of my rental! The truck had some debris in it when I picked it up. The radio had a short in it where it kept switching to aux/device mode randomly. Any button I pushed made it switch also. I did not choose to add safemove to my rental, but it was added anyway. These are not issues that a customer should have to experience!
