The truck that was rented still had trash in it when picked up and the gas tank was below empty. The owner(?) had told me that I “needed to get gas like now” and the mileage when picked up was 34091 Their system was down so they just gave me the keys and said they’d email me when it was back up. On the report that was finally given to me they put that there was 1/8th of a tank which definitely wasn’t true and they put the mileage at 39050. Overall wouldn’t recommend this place. It was a small little tire shop that didn’t even look like it knew I was there to get a uhaul.

I arrived with a reservation and reserved 12 furniture pads, a furniture dolly and a regular dolly. None were available when I arrived. I received a $50 credit, however, it did not help make my move easier. Then I was informed the tank was emptied by possible fuel thrives when the siphoned the tank. I was given a $40 credit, in California, for gas, which didn’t help me at all. Lastly, there was a pile of feces left in the truck in the cargo hold, as it was unlocked when I got it. Someone used it as a toilet.

Similarly, uhaul had my drop off time at 6pm which is also when the shop closed. It took me some time and wandering to find a drop box for the uhaul keys. It wasn't marked as a drop box. Just not the most customer friendly

Top Notch Tires and Wheels - where we eventually got the truck - was excellent. But we had been scheduled to pick up the truck at 2101 White Ln Suite D, Bakersfield, CA 93304. When we got to this location, no one was there. When the UHaul representative finally reached the manager for this location, the manager said he was on site. This was a lie. He also said that the catalytic convertor had been stolen from the truck we reserved, so we had no truck. The manager did nothing to alert us or UHaul to this problem until we tracked him down. DON'T USE THIS LOCATION! Dealing with this mix-up was difficult for us because it put us about three hours behind on a very full moving schedule. Despite this bad start, the UHaul representative connected us with a truck at Top Notch Tires and Wheels. The truck was larger than what we wanted, but they gave it to us for the same price. So, overall UHaul did a good job on handling our problem, but they should stop using the 2101 White Ln location.

Pick-up location was great and the gentlemen was very nice. The only thing I would recommend is a bit more thorough trailer overview. For example, how to hook-up and how to disconnect.

The rear view mirrors could not be adjusted. Vehicles should have cruise control. This makes driving a lot easier.

the man was rude, improperly hooked up the chains on the trailer, and repeatedly told me it was the only trailer available in the area, that I could take it or leave it....this was some tire company, not even a regular UHaul location...it was in a very dirty, unsafe area of town.

Since we did a one way trip. It wouldve been easier if we couldve dropped off our uhaul truck at a closer location. It was pretty far where we were assigned to drop it off. That was my only concern. Everything else was good.

When I rented the truck no mileage was confirmed with me. I was only asked an estimate of miles I would be driving. When I got in the truck I wrote the current mileage down. It was at 72213. When I took the truck back it was at 72248. My original estimate was 20miles which meant I went an extra 15 and knew I would have to pay the $15 extra $0.99/mile). Not a problem. But then the guy tells me I went 40 miles so I got charged $20 instead of $15. I thought maybe my math was just off or whatever but when I looked at the receipt it should the mileage as starting at 72208. There was no point in saying anything because from the beginning the mileage was never officially told to me even though i had written down. I'm not worried about the extra $5 dollars. But I do hope this is looked into so that other customers are not getting ripped off. I will not be going back to this rental site after what they pulled.

When I arrived at Top Notch Tires & Wheels the guy at the counter was expecting me. The return process took about two minutes and went smoothly. Nothing to complain about at all.

The truck was brand new with only 3K miles on it. It was not cleaned out from the previous renter. There were styrofoam to-go containers behind the drivers seat FILLED WITH MOLD on top of rotted food! There were nuts, trash and dog food all over the floor and seats. The dashboard was broken and would not open so I was unable to charge my phone over a multi state drive. Once I cleaned out the truck and sprayed antibacterial everyone, it was fine. It is a shame that such new truck in overall great condition was left so incredibly dirtied with trash and food.

Very dissatisfied with whole rental. Vehicle was very low on power steering/power brakes fluid. Location sent me to another location. Didn't offer to compensate my time and mileage. Talked to another rep on Sunday. She said someone would call me back. (Still nothing a week later). She also said she would not charge me for an extra day. (They charge me for an extra day anyway when I brought it to the drop off location he said he couldn't do nothing to help.) Left another attempt in email form explaining this and still have not heard back.

I have spent thousands at UHaul over the past few years and I am so disappointed at my experience in Bakersfield. I dropped off the UHaul I left 3 broken down U haul boxes in it and the blankets. I left no trash and they charged me a $25 cleanup fee. I have bought all of my supplies from UHaul, locks, packing boxes, TV BOXES, mirror boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap and mattress bags. I also rented on line a 26 foot truck and 2 dozen blankets and the movers. The UHaul Center was out of blankets so I had to drive to another location to get them but I don’t see anyone reimbursing me for my gas or time. I am making another big move in 13 days and do not know if I’m using UHaul or not. I’m very irritated!!!!!!!

The truck cab was dirty. The truck made an annoying sound periodically--was it an alarm that told us we were going too fast? Was it a mechanical problem? There was no information about this sound.
