The purpose of my poor rating really has nothing to do with the location, but rather the overall experience of the rental and pick up process. On the morning of my scheduled pick up we were running a few minutes behind of the pick up time. I had reserved the truck the night before and received the confirmation email with instructions. That email outlined the pick up process, which included a link to log in and pick up. It made no reference to having to use the app. We arrived at the pick up spot and I opened my email that was sent from Uhaul and attempted the pick up process. I attempted to log in to my account, but it gave me an error message stating the email address or password were wrong. So, I attempted to reset the password. Then I got a message that the email wasn’t on file so I tried to again thinking I may have fat fingered my email address. Still nothing so I created an account. Then it gave me a message stating I had no reservations. I confirmed my email address was correct by my grown up daughter. I even navigated the no account option and it didn’t recognize my email or phone number which was really mysterious since I had my confirmation email from the night before. Luckily, the drop off location had personnel on site that were able to log on the website and help me get the rental. It is worth noting that I received a call from customer service I assume asking if I still needed the truck. I explained how I couldn’t log in and get what I needed. He was condescending and said “ you have to do it on the app” and in a tone that made me sound like a fool. I addressed that issue and told him if the confirmation email had said that then I would have done it. I also had the people at the drop off spot that verified the dilemma. Sorry this is so long and I typically don’t like leaving negative public remarks, but hopefully this can be used to improve the online process of renting and actually using a truck or other rental equipment.

I received a call from Karen Embry on Saturday, the day before my reservation of a 10' truck, to inform me that the previous renter was not returning the truck and there were no other 10' available. We had been having a hard time getting one reserved on a date we were able to move (Sunday) because we work all week. Karen really came through for us! As a part of the reservation guarantee she found us a 26' and fulfilled the reservation at the 10' price we were expecting! The only complaint I had was the truck had not been cleaned and the previous renter's extra equipment was still in the back (i.e. dolley and furniture blankets). Also, the location services in the app were wonky. When I tried to fulfill my rental it wouldn't locate me at the site (Top Line Auto), but just to double check that it wasn't my phone, I clicked on the location icon in the app and it found me just fine and told me the closest UHaul to me was Top Line. I was standing in their parking lot. One of your customer service people was supposed to call me back after 5 minutes but he didn't. So, I still had Karen's number from the previous day, I called her and she had everything straightened out and the key in my hand in less than 5 minutes! Karen was just AWESOME as a Uhaul representative!

I had a reservation and had to go to 3 different locations to get my truck. Then the location I went to put the payment through twice and that flagged my account as fraudulent and froze my checking account for 72 houts while I straightened out that mistake. I need another truck soon and am seriously considering going to Penske.

I would liked to have gone over the Uhaul truck. Instead I was told just to leave it because they were too busy dealing with a car sales. The lady also stated that I would receive a statement via email or message for the final statement. This never occurred.

Original drop location was at another lot but there was NOWHERE to put the trailer. Gentlemen in the garage ask me to take it where I dropped it. The West 4th location should not be an option.

Person on staff, Tony, didn’t know how to process a rental. He was on the phone with two different people for 45 min to get the rental completed when I had already pre-checked in. Was only supposed to pay on arrival. We arrived on time and before the storm. Had to hook up in the rain because it took so long. He was nice just had never processed a rental before. If anyone is going to offer uhaul rentals, all staff needs to know how to process them.
