This is my first time rent a UHaul in NJ and will be the very last time. The customer service provided by UHaul is average but the service provided by Tonys Service Center couldn't be more disappointing. First of all, I picked a location that's the most convenient to me whose owner is actually very friendly and helpful. He told me that the final pickup location might not be at his place but usually is finalized by UHaul a couple days before my pick-up date. I called him several times to confirm the final pick-up location and he provided me the help that he could. Two days before my pickup day I called my originally selected pick up location and then this owner told me that the system shows my pick up location is Tonys Service Center. Until now, I haven't received any communication from UHaul about this final pickup location change! I looked up Tonys Service Center and called him but one one answered the phone. On that night, my region is getting a big snowstorm. So I really wished to get in contact with Tony even just for a discussion about any risks or problems, e.g. availability of the truck, accessibility of his place and how he usually handles snow condition. Not being able to talk Tony, I called UHaul customer representatives. One of them did get Tony to talk to me. Tony said he didn't know what would happen and cannot say anything about if he will be open on Friday or not. He said if I'd like him to lie to me, he can lie to me but he couldn't guarantee anything. He then said he has two customers out there and he had to close at 12pm that day and hang up on me. I understand no one can predict the future however I was trying to ask how he operates in such snowy situations. As a customer, I was given no information as what I should be expecting but got hanging in this situation all by myself. At that moment, I didn't even know if I would be able to pick up the truck and this would hurt no one but me as I am the one who aligned everything else in my move plan with the UHual rental. We got the snowstorm but it didn't turn out to be as bad as predicted. Then another UHual customer representative suggested me to change in-person pick up to the smart phone pickup which I did. On my pick-up day, I showed up 10 minutes earlier to Tony's place and started the smart phone pickup process. When I got to the step of locating the truck, I found one that none of the trucks parked at this location matched the truck ID shown in my uHaul app. That was already 15 minutes past my pickup time. Then I had to call UHaul customer representative again, and was told the truck was not prepared for smart phone pickup. We hadn't seen Tony show up at that moment yet. Twenty minutes after our pick up time, Tony finally showed up and seemed talking to UHaul too. He told me to sit my a** back in the car and wait as he needs to clean and warm up and truck. We then waited another 20 minutes until he finally picked up a shovel and walked to the back gate. He removed some snow around the gate there and opened the back gate. We didn't finally pick up the truck until one hour later. Our movers had already been waiting for us and this caused a one and half hour delay of my moving plan. On that day, Tony was still complaining about me making calls to him. He yelled that you called three times, three times. As a customer who knew nothing about this pickup location and how this owner operates after a snowstorm and had never been successful getting in touch with Tony, how could I sit still? I am beyond disappointed about Tony's attitude and how he interacts with customers. I honestly don't think I've made any mistakes in this entire process. However, Tony was late and unprofessional. I strongly suggest UHaul to reconsider Tony's place as their go-to pickup location for one-way UHaul trucks for the few following reasons: (1) Tony's service center is located in a residential neighborhood with narrow streets and street parking. It wasn't as easy to move the UHaul trucks around his place. The city's snow removal is below average in NJ. There were still a lot more snow there than in my own in NJ. (2) Tony doesn't care about customer. He is not able to take calls from customers and is not able to communicate professionally. (3) Tony runs his own business in addition to the UHual service and it seemed to me that he couldn't spare much time to the UHual customers. (4) Tony's late and caused a one-hour delay in my pick-up. He is not an honest person either. I overheard his saying to the UHaul representative that I just pulled up whereas I had already been there fore 30 mins. Given the above reasons, I don't think Tony's service center serves as a good location for the pick up location for one-way trucks. I used to rent UHual in other states and it has always been good experiences. So I can see this might be a particular problem with doing this business in NJ. I am just one customer that UHaul may not care. However, I honestly don't think this is right and I am so disappointed at UHual and Tonys Service Center this time. At least, I myself will not rent UHaul in NJ again and will suggest my family and friends not to do so either.Leon C.

I have a complaint regarding my experience. I reserved my truck 2 weeks in advance to only receive notice the day before I needed it that you had moved my pickup location to a different one 60 miles in the wrong direction. When I called regarding this the representative did nothing to try to help me when I advised I was unable to travel 60 miles for the truck. I called 15 times on Sept 30th and was unable to secure a truck until I stumbled upon Tony's. I will never use Uhaul again. This caused unnecessary stress and lost time and money in the process. This is not the 1st time you guys have disappointed me but it will be the last.Arvell H.
