I don't know where to start. I was so frustrated with the whole U-Haul experience. First, I looked the truck up online that I wanted ( I wanted the biggest) and the website said it was available for me all I had to do was go in the day I requested and it would be there ready and waiting. Well when I got there the woman told me that there are only 2 trucks there that size, one was already reserved and the other was a local truck and needed to be returned to that location (at a higher rate per mile than a one-way). Second, the woman was INCREDIBLY rude!!!! I had a friend (who dropped off me and another friend) that made important plans after my drop off. Since I got the reservation online for the big truck (which I really thought said unlimited miles) and the U-HAUL location was close, I told my friend that she could drop us off and go about her business. I was going to make the extra drive to get a Penske truck since there rates are always fair, there customer service is always good to great, they are generous with the time of the rental, and there one way rentals are always unlimited miles, I thought my experience with U-Haul couldn't be much different. I couldn't have been more wrong!!!! I even told the woman who was checking out the truck I was stuck with "This is rediculous, I am never using U-Haul again!" Her response was a chuckle. I may have had to take 2 trips with the big truck but I knew it would have been many with the small one. I still don't have all my things at my new place. As far as the truck itself (other than not being the size I requested) It didn't break down and was clean but the shifting was delayed which made it a bit of a rough ride and then it jerked hard once it did shift. All and all, the ABSOLUTE worst rental truck experience I have EVER had (and I myself have moved a lot and I always seem to be the first friend called to help others move as well).

The truck was originally reserved a week in advance and to be picked up at Marion True Value in Marion KY. I only learned from a call the previous day the Marion location there didn’t have any trucks available, and I had to drive an additional 40 miles round trip to obtain my vehicle, furthermore the Marion staff at the 223 Sturgis Road, Marion KY were EXTREMELY rude and completely unprofessional in how they handled the fact that while I’d placed the reservation well in advance and was assured I would have a vehicle available for me on August 2nd, this turned out not to be the case and only discovered the error when I received a call from Pricilla from the Memphis Office confirming my pickup would be in Eddyville. I immediately called Marion True Value location at 223 Sturgis Road and inquired about what I believed to be some sort of “mix up” as I’d clearly made arrangements in advance and in person at the Marion, 223 Sturgis Road location. The person I spoke with made no apologies whatsoever for, nor did they make any attempt whatsoever to notify me about the difference in pickup location, I explained this change in location caused considerable difficulty I was now facing to pickup my reserved vehicle in Eddyville KY, the person I spoke with at Marion True Value was very unapologetic and extremely unprofessional in her handling of this situation. As a result I called the Eddyville KY location and explained the experience and treatment I’d received from the staff person at the Marion True Value, 223 Sturgis road location and in return they went above and beyond to help correct the treatment and lack of professionalism I’d received at the Marion True Value location. So in short the staff in Eddyville were extremely helpful and in correcting the mistake and treatment I’d received from Marion True Value, 223 Sturgis road so my experience is 5+ stars for 35 US Highway 641 N Eddyville, KY 42038 United States location, and a -1 star for the Marion True Value, 223 Sturgis Road, Marion KY location . In closing I will NEVER recommend dealing with UHaul rentals at Marion True Value,223 Sturgis Road, Marion KY as the staff there are beyond unprofessional and a very poor representation of your company. However I will recommend the fine people at 35 US Highway 641 N Eddyville, KY 42038 United States as they went above in their treatment of me and will continue to receive any future business I do with UHaul.

The people there were great. The problem is the small location I was redirected to from the main store in Paducah only had a minimal selection of poorly maintained equipment.

The roll up door needs some stops on it. The one I had opened too far and got stuck behind the door frame. A little help from a large screwdriver was all it took to close the door but a stop of some sort would be much better.

I had reserved a 26ft truck for June 23rd, to be picked up at The Red Door Antiques in Eddyville, Ky. I was called 3-4 days prior and was told the field manager was good at getting trucks to the right locations. When I got there on the 23rd, all they had was a 15 ft. It took 2 trips in the UHaul truck and 4 trips in my pickup, because furniture would not stand upright in the 15ft. I also had 4 trips with my SUV and had to pay the movers double, because it took all day without the 26ft truck. I am calling my credit card company and starting a dispute, because the field manager never returned my call.
